Being a loyal Mowgli customer from when the Bold Street Liverpool branch first opened in 2014, I was excited for my work friends to experience what I have been banging on about for months. However, this was not the experience I signed up for. Don’t get me wrong, the food was great as usual, but the Hostess on the other hand….. For context, any party of 10+ are required to select from the set menu. As our party was initially 9, we requested to eat from the main menu. As we were close to ordering, another friend joined us. The Hostess approached our table to inform us that we were not supposed to order from the main menu. She would however let this slide “if we have our hearts set on this”, however if we ever come back we would not be allowed to do this. (Spoiler: we will not be coming back) The attitude we were greeted with was nothing like I’ve experienced, something that does not belong in the Mowgli brand. We felt like we were school children and being reprimanded. Everyone on the table was taken aback by the way we were spoken to. One person specifically was particularly embarrassed and was made to feel like they had done something wrong. It was clear that this person was on a power trip and wanted to flex the minute power they had been provided as the hostess. This was fed back to the hostess at the end of the meal by the waitress (who was great btw). Despite this being fed back, the hostess did not hold her self to account, nor came over to address the situation. Will not be returning.

Unfortunately I am updating my review and downgrading it (Nov 24) . I went to check in last week to be informed that all three lifts were broken and that my room was on the third floor. I said that due to a capability issue that wasn't suitable. The gentlemen on reception apologised but said they had emailed me during the day to tell me before I arrived. They had not. He asked me to check my spam. No email. I asked to see the email they had sent and nothing was forthcoming. They were either economical with the truth or incompetent. You have to wonder how all three lifts can be broken on the same day? Either they were indeed very unfortunate or perhaps need to look at a better maintenance schedule. I moved to the Holiday Inn over the road but am quite annoyed that the hotel thought they could fib me off. The Diamond desk was not much better and were unable to resolve the complaint which has caused me to reverse my previously good review of this hotel.

Been here every year (from North Wales) for the past 8 years but tonight the grumpy old managers upset me and won't be coming bad. How rude and bad mannered!!! The Food is fantastic! Nice clean place too! So,our bill was £270 for 7 of us.which is fine for good quality food which is definitely was 👍 So we all worked out our own spend with a few quid extra (10% service had been added on prior) passed the machine round the table and it all added up and slightly over. Grumpy manager pulled his face and sighed all the way through the process.repeating shakes of his head and says it's not a professional way to do things and wasn't happy with the way we'd paid! I still don't understand what the issue is....and then insulted me on the way out! Very upset with his attitude. Can't believe they expect return custom with his kind of rudeness. We'll find somewhere else in the future. Thanks for all the lovely meals over the years rozafa but whilst Mr grumpy remains there we won't be back. 😢

I stopped by Leon at Manchester Piccadilly for breakfast and left feeling disappointed. While I was promptly given my smoothie and breakfast, the service for hot drinks was incredibly slow and poorly managed. Half the ordering booths weren’t even switched on, and the one I used was painfully slow, adding unnecessary frustration. Despite there being plenty of food and cold drinks available, most customers were stuck waiting around for their coffees. Unfortunately, I had to leave without my coffee to catch my train, which left a bitter taste in my mouth as I didn’t get something I paid for. A better system for managing coffee orders and functioning ordering booths would make a big difference, especially during busy mornings like this one.

Disappointing evening. The service was good and atmosphere of the place was nice but the food was average at best. We had such high hopes as the menu reads like a dream but had to send back a couple of dishes for being undercooked. In my opinion it's overpriced for what we received

9 of us ate here for our works Xmas meal. It was a set menu. Starter sharer platter was nice, was good to be able to have a mixture of things. I had the Xmas pie main, it was nice but not the best pie I've ever had. I didn't have a dessert as I was too full, but they did look nice. Staff all pleasant. Only negative really is that the toilets were very smelly & needed to be checked/cleaned more often.

One of our usual “Go toos” whenever we’re in Manc, I booked way in advance for our 21st wedding anniversary and unfortunately this time the food and service was way short of expectations and usual standards. I had to send my food back and whilst the Manager offered a swift discount I explained I wasn’t after something for free I felt the kitchen needed to be told what the issue was. The Manager didn’t seem to like this and we felt we were then cold shouldered for the remainder of the evening which we eventually cut short. Other diners were being offered free shots and we didn’t get anything , our anniversary wasn’t acknowledged and even after offering there was no reduction from the bill, We ordered a desert which they could have offered complimentary as a gesture but they didn’t. So all in all 2 starters 2 mains one sent back the other sub standard. 2 ice creams and a mediocre bottle of red £172 Needless to say we won’t be going back again It seems most of the Italian restaurants in the area don’t care about their customers as they are so busy they somehow manage to forget that it’s people like us who keep them going in the quiet times.

Jack and Jake were the sweetest loveliest blokes. We had a really disappointing Christmas market and experience and finding this little gem with the best hospitality saved our date night. Thank you guys, you deserve a massive Christmas bonus ♥️⭐️
