Cloud 23 Cocktail Bar in Manchester

We went there for my bestie’s birthday 🎂 She never been there and we saw that there are Christmas decorations already. So we went for the festive afternoon set menu. Their royal mill tea are just magnificent, would love to get some tea there again. We have been organised to get the window set which is absolutely fantastic. We had a great time there.

A very nice place. I booked through the website, but when I went, there were empty places. I took a table at the window. Their prices are good. The desserts are bad. Their coffee is bitter.

We visited Cloud 23 for the afternoon tea for our friends 60th birthday. The view as always didn’t disappoint. We received a fabulous service from Steff, who was very friendly, attentive and we had a really good chat with her. The food was nice and very well presented. We ordered cocktails and they were beautifully presented and served. Our friend also got a little birthday treat brought to our table, courtesy of Cloud 23, which was a lovely gesture. Overall we had a lovely stay and our birthday girl loved every moment. Reason for 4 stars is that the decor and some furniture look a little outdated and in need of a refresh or replacement.

Fabulous afternoon tea with champagne.Do visit and sit in window seats as the view is great, right across the south of Manchester from Media City in the west to the university area in the east. Sixty years since we met at Manchester University and a wonderful way to celebrate.

We had afternoon tea here, and it was a wonderful experience. While the tea selection was not extensive, it was more than made up for by the stunning view and delicious sandwiches.

Great views and a lovely selection of cocktails, plus some lovely and knowledgeable staff. The only negative is that it took about 25 minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive

Heard a lot about Cloud 23, doesn’t live up to the hype. We were in the “private room” section. The pink window adornment looked like it hasn't been cleaned since it was installed.It was full of fluff and dust. That section felt like it was forgotten about, it was an afterthought it has dark furniture and feels heavy. It’s now a case of being there done that, I won’t be rushing back.

Very Slow table service, Visited 5th Nov 2024. 10 minutes until served at the table, a further 25 minutes for 6 Cocktails to Arrive.....My Borother in law had the Waitress accidentally dropped a Glass of Prosecco over him........Then the table was charged for the Drinks we already had paid for...........Worse Night out we have all had in 2024. Food in Podium Restaurant on the Ground Floor was Excellent - The Waiter "Sam" - best Waiter I have experience "EVER". Thank you Sam.

Cloud 23, a cocktail bar in Manchester, boasts a stunning view, but my recent experience there left much to be desired. Upon arrival, I had high hopes for a memorable evening, especially since I had reserved a window table for a special date. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by several issues. Firstly, the service was incredibly slow. Despite there being about eight waiters behind the counter, they seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to customers. We attempted to catch their attention, but our efforts to make eye contact were futile. This led to a frustratingly long wait to be served. The cleanliness of the bar was another disappointment. The tables were noticeably dirty, which detracted from the otherwise sophisticated ambiance of the venue. Adding to the discomfort, we were seated next to a loud hen party group. It was particularly frustrating given that I had specifically reserved a spot by the window for a more intimate setting, and an entire section of the bar remained unoccupied. It is clear that with better management and a more attentive staff, Cloud 23 could significantly improve its customer experience and potentially double its turnover. However, as it stands, my visit was far from the high expectations I had set for the occasion. Very disappointed.

Afternoon tea on 23rd floor! A bit pricey but totally worth it. I’ve tried jasmine and green tea which are both lovely. Savory menu is on point. Cake can be hit or miss as I don’t like it to be too sweet. Overall, I love scones the most! Service and atmosphere complement overall experience, especially on a sunny day I was lucky to be seated right next to the window for the beautiful view of Manchester Definitely recommend this place

We visited with a group of 12 for afternoon tea on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated in the perfect location and got to watch and night fell on the city! The staff we friendly and catered for every need we had. The glass floor was an added bonus for the kids and adults alike

We went there for an afternoon tea! It was good and the view was nice with the sunset🧡 Such incredible vibes and I would love to thank JOY! She’s just amazing and made our experience Perfect! Definitely coming back because of the exceptional service!

We arrived on a Tuesday evening without a reservation and were immediately given a window seat with a great view. The service staff was very friendly and I met the friendliest and most polite waiter there in my life. He also pointed out to us that on the overhanging floor on the other side of the bar there is a glass pane in the floor that you can bravely stand on and look down on. We also found the drinks very good and the prices were absolutely fine considering the location and the ambience - even quite cheap by Swiss standards.

We had cocktails at Cloud 23, they were reasonably priced and were really tasty. The bar was pretty cold which was probably the only con!

Great place to chill and have a drink in the 23rd floor after a long day. Amazing cocktails; however, service is extremely slow. No one comes to check on you or take your order. Had to call them many times.

A bit overrated I would say as the view is not something exceptional and it is like a casual bar.

We really liked the view Cloud 23 is known for. Showed the industrial character of Manchester in a dynamic setting. The decor inside was very nice. Service provided by Shannon was extraordinary.

Loved it up there. Own special lift. Open to the public. Every table has an excellent view of the skyline and is a must for photos. It's open to the public. Welcoming helpful staff. Be prepared for hotel prices. Would love to go there again.

Visited for afternoon tea today , I have been in the past on a few occasions for afternoon tea , breakfast annd cocktails and loved it .Unfortunately after today I will not be revisiting, the place looks shabby in the day light , I had photos from years ago decoration not changed and walls shabby and marked . Afternoon tea very disappointing , sandwiches not to our liking and sausage pastry tasted strange . Cakes aren’t exciting and scone small and didn’t look freshly made , jam was bland . Tea served in cheap nasty cups ,had to ask for the cups and service very slow , our table was for four and it was very small . Sorry Cloud 23 it’s a from us, especially when compared to other venues in Manchester . We won’t be returning! Cost was £40 each and then £16 service charge added .

Had a lovely lunchtime visit here with a friend, we just had a couple of cocktails which were SO good! The cocktail menu is fantastic and we are already planning our next girls visit in the group chat. The staff that served us were lovely, knowledgeable and accommodating. The only thing I would say is that the bar/nibbles menu wasn’t to our taste. There wasn’t anything either of us liked and if there was more/ more variety, we would have purchased some. We spoke to some ladies in the elevator that were saying how much they enjoyed the afternoon tea so will definitely have to try that in the future.

We visited on a Monday evening. We were fortunate to have a window seat and had a great view. It’s a beautiful space and we had amazing service from Eve. The cocktails were great. We hadn’t booked. Lovely toilets on the same floor. Highly recommend a cocktail or two to enjoy the view.

The perfect place to have a celebration afternoon tea with friends. The food was of high quality and Luana’s service impeccable. A food preference was catered for and an additional cake was provided for the birthday guest. My only quibble was the blasting cold air from the air conditioning unit which even blew the menu onto the floor. What happened to the ‘bottomless coffee’ mentioned in the previous reviews? Overall, a very enjoyable afternoon.

While walking around Deansgate, someone told me I could go up to the 23rd floor for a panoramic view of Manchester. Without thinking too much I went up. There’s a bar called Cloud 23 with a lovely view, but it's not just a place to enjoy the view you need to sit and order food I guess. I walked around, took some photos through the glass windows, and then headed back down since I don't drink alcohol. They said they accept walk ins depending on availability at the time, but recommend booking on calls in advance to avoid disappointment.

Amazing experience, beautiful place, friendly and attentive staff, some sandwich fillings and cakes were a little ‘random’, ideally could be changed for something more enjoyable, cocktails were great. Wouldn’t say the £20 extra was worth the window seat/view but overall we had an amazing time and we would return. We were celebrating a surprise visit for a 30th birthday and the staff helped us to celebrate this and threw in an extra afternoon tea birthday item for the birthday girl.

Had afternoon tea with cocktails for my Mum's 80th birthday. The cocktails and food were impeccable. Jakub looked after us very well. The view wasn't too bad either!

Excellent service, staff were amazing. Eve was incredibly knowledgeable. Would book again without hesitation. Great views, we didn't eat but the afternoon tea looked lovely and seemed popular. At least I know what to buy my sister in law for a special anniversary.

Booked a cocktail afternoon tea. Really great food and treats, the cocktails and tea we got were excellent. We were really disappointed with the service, considering the glowing reviews. It was really slow to start with, took ages to have us seated and for someone to get our drinks order. The person who served drinks and explained what the sandwiches and sweets were was rather unpleasant, we were caught off guard by how hostile she seemed to be. The other staff seemed really sweet and were quite pleasant, especially the person who sorted out our payment, so it seems to be an issue with just the one person. Either way, not really worth the money spent to be treated like that on a celebratory occasion.

Had afternoon tea midweek and it was gorgeous, the food was stunning and lovely attentive service from Luana and Jenna !

The views were amazing during our Afternoon Tea. We took so many photos! The staff was fantastic right from the start. We had brilliant service & an array of Teas to select from. And Jenna & Steph made sure, we had everything we needed. The food was delicious Almost too pretty to eat. The ambience was perfect. We left feeling full & relaxed & would highly recommend the Halal Tea to others.

I can definitely recommend this place. Well-organized and friendly service, beautiful interior, the drinks taste and look amazing and last but not least - the view! Just lovely!

We really loved it at sunset, but I think it too expensive for only drinks. After 6 PM they don’t offer food only drinks and nuts. They have few options for non-alcoholic drinks and it’s really delicious.

The lounge on the 23rd floor is beautiful with its view. It is preferable to book in advance through their website. There are several options for sitting next to the window or far from it.

Went to cloud 23 for some drinks to celebrate my 25th. Sharon was our waitress and made the experience lovely! She was attentive and welcoming and even kindly took (multiple) pictures of me and my friend. Drinks were nice and the view can’t be beat!

A really enjoyable birthday celebration with amazing views. Jenna was really helpful and friendly and Mia made some fantastic cocktails for us. Also thanks to the lovely lady who greeted us when we arrived, everyone was so nice and helpful.

Steff looked after us really really well and made the experience all the better would highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

The video is amazing, but the coffee is mediocre, sweet yet very mediocre. A reservation is required if Buick and I advise anyone who wants to go before 4 o’clock.

I went with my friend, who was visiting from Spain on her last day in Manchester. We had a very warm and lovely welcome with an “hola” from Alexis. He looked after us all evening and made our experience amazing. Muchas gracias from Ana y Gracia from Granada.

We came here by chance and walked in. The staff are very friendly and happy to help. I highly recommend the pina colada (which they also do without alcohol). The biggest perk is the window view!

I took my wife to Cloud23 for our anniversary for afternoon tea. I unfortunately didn’t catch any of the workers names but they were all unbelievable. Very welcoming, friendly, warm and actually looked like they wanted to be there. 1 of our waitresses was in training as mentioned on her name badge. I wish i got their names to feedback more accurately but the atmosphere was amazing, food was bang on and cocktails were lovely. Definitely would recommend and will be back!!

We arrived at 9:15 our booking was for 9 I tried to call the cloud while I was on my way but didn’t get no answer and was faced with an automated answering machine , when we were ready to go up to the cloud we were challenged by a lady with a nasty attitude we wasn’t greeted with a smile at all. she challenged the time we came and said they stopped letting people in at 9:15 the exact time we arrived (even though I got a email from one her colleagues a few days earlier reminding me that the last drink orders are at 9:30 ) after calling her manager and challenging the people behind us aswell we were finally allowed up. The staff upstairs were very friendly and attentive especially Eve but the music was very low not much of an atmosphere I was left frustrated and very underwhelmed as cloud 23 is supposed to be a high end establishment and it was my partners birthday which I put on our reservation notes but his birthday was NOT recognised during our booking

Amazing afternoon tea and great service so 5 stars, the atmosphere was amazing too inside and a lovely view, my only reason for 4 stars on the atmosphere was that there wasn’t many other skyscrapers to give a view that’s 100% there for me. But it was amazing in general and I recommend.

I was in Manchester for a visit and needed a place to cool off. The place is worth every hype. Their cocktails were amazing. And the services were top notch as well and I paid nothing for window viewing. I’ll definitely be coming back next month on my birthday

I don’t think it’s worth the hype, Manchester hasn’t got enough sky scrapers to create breath-taking views that you experience when at the Shard or in Manhattan, it was very disappointing and underwhelming. You pay £25pp for window view, just to look at a building site… Our drinks were nice and we appreciate the effort cloud 23 put in, in regards to my husband’s birthday and bringing him a little sweet treat, so thank you for that but due to the very disappointing views (in the day time), I don’t think this place is worth the visit and we won’t be returning.

Great views and delicious cocktails!

Despite all the hype, I hadn’t been here till recently and I can’t believe I’ve missed out. On a nice day, the view of the city is breathtaking. The afternoon tea was lovely, and very much worth the price with unlimited drinks and a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. To the management, the female Indian server deserves a raise. She was so helpful with her recommendations and our dietary requirements and kept us laughing the entire time. Truly an asset to your business.

Service was good. Food was OK and the cocktails were so so.. the place is looking a little dated now and although seated next to a window were at the back tucked away or so it felt (obviously have to pay an extra £20 to sit somewhere nicer). What takes this to 3 stars rather than 4 is that its not the cheapest place and then at the end when coming to pay there was an automatic service charge on top of an already expensive experience. Do not think I would return.

Stunning location and a luxurious setting. I was greeted and seated and placed my order which appeared shortly after. I only had a drink because I’m poor but it was a super Earl Grey iced tea. I was free to walk around and take pics and Declan provided a cheerful chat which was engaging and friendly. Nice one chap.

Had the best baby shower with my family yesterday - staff were very accommodating to dietary requirements even before we arrived - the afternoon tea was probably the best we have had and good value for money - the staff were very attentive, polite and friendly - bottomless tea and enjoyed the Seachange 0% alcohol so much I ended up having 3. With the beautiful surroundings and chilled atmosphere it set for a a wonderful afternoon - thank you so much 😊

Lovely view over the city and the best carrot cake I've ever had

First time coming here for a birthday and everything was set up as perfect from the get go. The info I filled in online was listened to and the table was ready and waiting for us as soon as we came in. Straight away our drink order was taken and our afternoon tea came out with the waitress telling us everything that was on it. Everything went very smoothly and I highly recommend coming here if you want a special afternoon/night out. A massive thankyou for making it possible and will definitely be back. This was the halal platter and was very tasty. Nothing was left on this stand.

Positives - Really nice bottle of Portuguese white, the obvious views, attentive staff, decor, cocktail prices Reasonable - all very good. Negatives - we didn't book but they placed us at seats away from the windows, "all those seats are booked sir". On leaving 1 hr later, still not a single person sitting on those 5 tables. Service charge added without being mentioned, I don't like that, especially after tipping in cash too. Wine selection, only 4 bottles of white to choose from, starting at £34 for pinot grigio.

Beautiful location, had kinda of a mixup when getting in the elevator and ended up on the guests rooms first haha, but other than that smooth going, really relaxing, wish there was more a good cocktail selection with varying tastes.

I've been coming to Cloud 23 on and off since not long after it opened and it has been through better and worse times in terms of the food and drink quality. After a gap of a couple of years since my last visit, I didn't know what I'd find but was happy to find the place back to it's better days. We had afternoon tea which was of a good quality - I particularly enjoyed the bottomless coffee; the flat white was great. There were gluten free and vegan options and they were able to cater for our group of 15 without any long waits. The views are of course spectacular, day or night, and lift a pretty good food offering to a much more impressive overall experience.

7pm Saturday visit. Overall service and attentiveness was second to none. Greeting was prompt and friendly. We had a voucher and was quickly sorted. Our package was Champagne greeting and 3 cocktails each. They gave us the window view table for two which had magnificent view of the city. The servers knew that we were using voucher and asked us what we would like at exactly the right time without rushing us. The explanation of max value allowed as well as the time limit(the need for the window table) was in exactly the right tone. The atmosphere is buzzy but classy. There were a combination of their own mix as well as the classics such as Dirty martini and Long Island iced tea. The quality of the cocktail was excellent and not watered down. All in all a memorable visit.

I feel a bit on the fence about this place as I have seen a lot of hype. It's undoubtedly the best view I've ever had from a bar in Manchester, though it does depend where you are seated. You can pay extra for a window seat if having drinks £10pp... not that there was any need as it wasn't full at Friday 6pm. Cocktails and mocktails the same price which is a bit... Hmm... Because surely a non alcoholic drink should be cheaper? Anyway, they were nice but nothing special in my opinion. Service was great and very attentive and the place itself has a luxury feel which makes for a nice date night or special occasion. Haven't tried the food there yet so can't comment on that. I would say generally you are paying a premium for the view and nothing more. I would go back.

Not a bad bar, I actually expected a better view but sadly manchester below just looked depressing, dirty and full of graffiti, the bar itself was at least nice.

My first visit here on my birthday. A friend from Texas sought a great view of Manchester and this was our spot! Eve greeted us on floor 23, showed us to a super window seat (every seat in here is super) and proceeded to bring us everything we needed. Tea, cocktails, vegan and non vegan treats, ice, plates, napkins, photos everything! She was a STAR! Eeeeven found me a vegan cake at the end of the night, OMG! Thank you for making us feel special, Eve! The crowd here is young and trendy, we had been travelling and were feeling pretty windswept...we had a blast!

Stephania was our server and WOW! she was so lovely. My partner and I both requested changes in our drinks which weren’t on the menu and she accommodated to them so well. On top of this she was so lovely, making us feel comfortable and relaxed. This girl deserves a big pay raise!!!

We love to visit Cloud 23.The one only issue for us is a quality of the coffee.We like a good and strong coffee.Latte was literally just a milk,then we tried flat white which wherever we get it it's nice and strong.In here even this coffee was just not tasty.Would be great to get that improved, because we love to visit Cloud 23.The afternoon tea was nice
