Evuna in Manchester

Had a really lovely night here! The staff were really friendly, there's a nice atmosphere with some good Spanish music, and the food was all great 🌞💃 Nicely varied menu with plenty of veggie options too 🌶

This is a great tapas restaurant in a very central location. We've had many good meals here over the years and never been disappointed. Thecwine offerings are very good and the tapas dishes are tasty and good quality. We didn't reserve on our last visit but it can get busy so consider this if you want to be certain of a table particularly at the weekend.

I dropped by during lunch without a reservation. All the tables were taken, but the staff pointed out one that was free for another hour, which was just right for me. The gluten-free options were clearly labeled on the menu, and the staff knew a lot about coeliac disease. They even mentioned that my partner's dish could be made gluten-free too, even though it wasn't indicated on the menu, so we could share. When our meals arrived, the staff confirmed which ones were gluten-free again. I really appreciate this effort and want to say a big thank you for such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, and the staff were super friendly and polite.

Food was ok. Unbelievably they tried to add £70 to our bill that wasn't ours. Won't be returning when next visiting Manchester.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service here. There’s a guy with a beard who was serving customers — clearly in the wrong job. I first asked him politely if there was a table available, and he bluntly said no. Fair enough, it was busy. I came back an hour later because we really wanted to eat here — we actually like the food. But when I asked him nicely again about a table or even a spot at the bar, his attitude was absolutely unacceptable. He responded rudely, saying something like, “You’ve already come twice to ask,” as if we were doing something wrong by wanting to dine here! The way he spoke and behaved made it very clear that we were not welcome at all. With that kind of attitude, he should not be working in customer service — in fact, he acted more like a boss who doesn’t care whether customers stay or leave. Honestly, it’s ridiculous. If he can’t be bothered to treat customers with basic respect, he should stay at home instead of dealing with people. Such a shame, because the food is good, but service like this completely ruins the experience. At the end when we leave, I replied to him “your attitude is bad”. He slammed the menu on the table. What a shame !

Standard Spanish Tapas restaurant. The service was excellent, and I had no complaints about the food although it didn't really blow me away. The olives were disappointing, but the garlic bread was fantastic. Overall enjoyed my visit, would come again.

Lovely place and atmosphere. I'll be honest I have had better tapas elsewhere but it was really nice and the service was brilliant. Recommended.

We booked for a banquet menu long ago, and it says these things at the top are provided “on arrival”. We arrived more than one hour ago (at the time of booking!!) and there is nothing on our table yet. Meanwhile they seem happy to sell us wine and drinks to make more money. Back to my hotel soon if the food doesn’t come. EDIT: updating from one star to two. The food was good. But wasting 90 minutes of our time isn’t ok. Maybe some people have the luxury to have lots of time. But for me, eating 90 minutes later than expected and sleeping 90 minutes later than planned messed up my schedule a bit.

Evuna Deansgate is a nice Spanish restaurant, but they struggled to handle our group of 50 yesterday. Despite our constant reminders they waited until the last person arrived, to start serving, which took almost an hour and a half for the first tapas. When the main course finally arrived, they served far too much, resulting in significant waste. And the restaurant itself was not large enough to have our group either. We struggled to get out and the waiters also struggled to walk between our tables to serve. Overall, the experience was disappointing, even if the food was good. They shouldn't have accepted such a large group in the first place.

Food was a little above average but overpriced. Tables were too close to each other so was a bit uncomfortable when people moved around you, was expecting a closer to fine dining experience considering this price.

4 of us enjoyed delicious food here to celebrate my birthday. Each meal was hot and tasty, the staff and service was great We were able to chose from the afternoon tapas menu and were not disappointed with portion sizes

The pricing at this restaurant is excessively high for the quality of food provided. The sangria was particularly disappointing—it contained only a bit of lemon, whereas it should be a rich blend of fruits, typically with peach as the dominant flavor. The seafood in the paella was of poor quality, resembling the frozen shrimp commonly found in supermarkets. Shockingly, a four-person portion was priced at £100. Generally, a £20 or €20 paella is sufficient for two people, making this pricing seem unreasonable. Additionally, the restaurant’s dim lighting created an unappetizing atmosphere, further diminishing the dining experience.

En primer lugar, reservé el Evuna equivocado, quería reservar NQ como había estado allí antes, pero reservamos taxi y tomó años llegar a Deansgate debido al tráfico. No pude contactar con nadie en el restaurante para avisar que llegaríamos tarde, pero afortunadamente nuestra mesa todavía nos estaba esperando... ¡few! El servicio fue genial, elegimos 7 tapas y pan. Destacado favorito para mí fue el chorizo con pimientos padrón y patatas. El vino tinto era con mucho cuerpo y delicioso. Mi única queja, y realmente me molesta, es que la camarera empezó a limpiar platos de nuestra mesa mientras todavía estábamos comiendo. No preguntó si estaba bien hacerlo. ¡Eso es un gran no no! Nunca debes limpiar mientras los clientes siguen comiendo. Esa es mi única queja.

We made a reservation for the weekend, and the overall experience at Evuna was quite enjoyable. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere—warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed meal. The service was decent, not particularly outstanding, but friendly and efficient. We ordered three tapas dishes, all of which were delicious, though the portion sizes were on the smaller side. The highlight of the meal was definitely the seafood paella—it was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. In terms of value for money, it’s slightly on the pricier side, but still reasonable for the quality of food and experience. If you’re looking for a cosy Spanish dining spot in Manchester, Evuna is definitely worth a visit!

Precioso restaurante - cálido, relajado ambiente y un gran servicio. La comida era excepcional - rivalizó con las tapas en Sevilla. Me encantó - no puedo esperar a visitar Manchester de nuevo para que podamos volver!

Fui por unas obras dejando hacer, éramos 13 de nosotros, el personal era eficiente y amable. Pedí del menú de 3 platos por £ 17. 95 y por una copa de vino de la casa £ 4. 50 . Todo estaba muy bien. Había un cargo por servicio del 10% añadido y un depósito de £ 5 se tomó en la reserva y se dedujo de la factura final

Very delicious food and the wine was divine!

Been to Evuna few years ago, this place has now gone downhill. On arrival our table was set for 4 instead of 5 people, staff very surprised that I booked for 4 wine tasting and tapas. The food was poor, everything beige, and looking tired. The wine pairing was average with barely any information given during service. We got constantly reminded that they needed the table back. Never again In response to Jane Dowler, thank you for completely disregarding the fact that the food was very poor and that the table was not ready for 5 but 4 people. On your website, there is no mention that tasting of 4 wines is for larger groups. You are correct that initial enquiry was for full wine tasting with food, but i have been told it is for 6 people and over. The tasting of 4 was without food but i always said we will order tapas separately. That was the information I got from a member of stuff over the phone. I rang few times because Evuna failed to call me back. Poor service and even worse food. Your response and claiming that i was angry is as poor as our experience. It is really disappointing you had to falsely accuse me of this. We were celebrating birthdays and arrived happy as ever. I have my 4 friends to support that.Thank you and good luck

We had a lovely meal here. Nice menu with loads of choices. We went for the tapas and all the dishes we chose were very tasty. Venue is cosy and clean. Well worth a visit.

How this place has gone downhill! The food generally was not up to scratch. We sat down and instead of music matching the (still) lovely surroundings we had terrible dance music pumped into our ears. As an example: the garlic and chilli prawns were only garlic and chilli in so much as some garlic and chilli was sliced up and dumped over the prawns / the sauce. The sauce itself tasted of little except the lemon that was placed into it. Please try infusing the sauce with some more flavours.

We got a selection of tapas and paella and it was all really good . The prawns so juicy and the paella was made fresh . The staff were really lovely and we would come here again .

Me and my cousin went to Evuna on a whim and we managed to get a table super easy. The staff were friendly as always and we had top notch food as to be expected. Delicious aubergine and meatballs, and also croquettes, we splashed out on the wine which was of quality! Always good vibes there and a personal favourite!

A warm welcome, excellent wine, 4 perfectly fine tapas dishes. All good but my wife found the Ladies toilets to be disgusting. Sad, but we won’t be returning . We will stick with Evuna Knutsford instead.

The food at Evuna was delicious, with a good selection of tapas and paella. We had both tapas and paella and waitress advised that would take a bit longer as they cooked paella to order but it was worth the wait. And of course we need to have a jug of sangria.

Reservamos con antelación (muy recomendable, ya que incluso en una noche de media semana el restaurante estaba lleno ocupado) y nos sentamos en una gran mesa de nuestra pregunta. Tuvimos una encantadora charla con nuestro servidor sobre nuestras opciones de vino y se nos permitió probar uno antes de elegir una botella, Luego nos dieron espacio y tiempo para navegar por el menú, y un tazón gratis de croquetas de queso para celebrar su 21 aniversario que fue un toque muy agradable. Hemos estado en este restaurante un par de veces, pero las opciones especiales y las nuevas adiciones al menú significan que nunca es la misma visita dos veces. Después de pedir la comida llegó rápidamente, a pesar de que el restaurante estaba tan ocupado, y estaba caliente. En general, la comida era su excelente calidad habitual y completamente delicioso! Después de comer gasolina necesitábamos un respiro antes de considerar el postre, que no fue ningún problema para el personal atento, de nuevo a pesar de que el restaurante estaba claramente lleno y ocupado no nos sentimos apresurados en absoluto. Los precios son muy razonables para la cantidad de comida que pedimos y para la calidad de la comida! Tuvimos una noche increíble! Tanto que ni siquiera necesitábamos desayunar al día siguiente. Recomendaré este restaurante a todo el mundo y ya sé mis fechas de mi próxima visita!!

Wonderful meal at Evuna, food tasted delicious, the atmosphere was really good, wine and sangria were lovely. Would highly recommend a visit and on sure we will be back

Todo comenzó bien en una noche de mitad de semana con el vino llegando rápido seguido del pan de ajo y por lo que anticipamos sumergir ese pan en una de las salsas de tapas, pero una espera de 40 minutos para el resto de la comida (no pedimos la paella - que sí tarda 40 minutos en llegar por cierto) puesto pagado a eso. Consultamos su no llegada, pero nos dijeron que estaban "muy ocupados", lo que era cierto en este momento (20). 00 ) aunque habíamos llegado alrededor de 19 . 00 . De todos modos, las tapas eran principalmente excelentes - el chorizo, el pechuga de carne de res y las mejillas de cerdo eran malditamente encontrar comida aunque el pollo (en su salsa cremosa) estaba seco sugiriendo que había terminado - cocinado y se dejó caer en esa salsa. FWIW: la casa roja es excelente.

Difficult review this. Place is very nice. Bar service was spot on but just had a bank statement. 1 beer, I think Estrella. Daughter ordered a single Gin and a mixer and a tapas of olives. Only logical explanation is, she was given a double £22.39

Having looked online and on foot 6 Tapas Restaurants across central Manchester settled on Evuna, Deansgate. Proved a very sensible and rewarding choice. Lovely people serving up really excellent freshly prepared Tapas food without fuss but with a smile and helpful advice to the Tapas novice. No hesitation recommending this restaurant if this cuisine is to your taste

Went as a group of 4 on Sunday and had a lovely meal. Did the 17.95 deal for three tapas, I got the chicken in paprika, the meatballs and patatas bravas! I didn’t enjoy the patatas bravas il be honest, but the rest was nice! We got a side of the tomato bread also which was lovely! We all enjoyed it, and think it was reasonable. Service was good too. Deffo will return,

This year I have visited several different regions of Spain and eaten some of the best food I have ever had, last night I went to Evuna and experienced the complete opposite (Yes I understand the quality of ingredients may differ being in the UK). There was a table of 20 of us and we chose the sharing option, which is approximately £35 per head. Every 'Hot tapas' option was clearly microwaved, the meatballs were mushy and flavourless, not to mention the fact that there was only enough for one meat ball per person. The chicken in a creamy sauce was the most least Spanish thing I have ever eaten, calamari rings were dripping in oil. The cold meat board at the start was so stingy it was enough for 2 people (not 5/6) Then we had the paella, I would like to add Paella is my favourite dish of all time, I have eaten it all over Spain and had it at some lovely restaurants here in the UK.. This paella was an insult to Spanish people. It was sloppy, overcooked, way too wet, the chicken was dry, the chorizo was so overcooked it was actually mushy, there was no crispy/ golden layer (socarrat or torraet) at the bottom of the dish (suggesting it was microwaved) and overall just tasteless. If you like overcooked rice drenched in chicken stock then you would like this. I would highly suggest to avoid this restaurant, it's insulting to anyone from Spain. I would say this resembles a Spanish Wetherspoon.

Went for the first time in August for my girlfriend's birthday with her family - I'm a meat eater while they're all vegetarian and my girlfriend has coeliac disease but everyone was expertly catered for. Everything is marked for allergens/intolerances and they brought her food out separately I don't expect to see garlic bread at a tapas restaurant so that was a pleasant surprise - the portions were large but it was so good that I couldn't leave any. I really enjoyed the chorizo too, and the patatas bravas were good. We shared a couple of jugs of sangria between us and we all found it very drinkable! In all, probably the best tapas I've had outside Spain and would happily visit again.

Amazing food and really friendly staff, will definitely be back

Lovely interior & server, however service not memorable and quite uninspiring. Food was very under-seasoned, no spice to any of the ‘chilli’ dishes, the sauce for the prawns was bland & tasted of nothing. The paprika chicken was dry, diced chicken breast sat in a thin creamy sauce that tasted like milk, with 0 paprika present. The creamy mushroom sauce tasted like thin milk that was going out of date. The paella was okay, but again super under-seasoned and not worth £20pp. The only decent thing was the patatas bravas but even that was a bit dry. I think investing in a premium Spotify subscription would help with the atmosphere, as adverts playing through the restaurant every 5 mins was a strange experience. All in all very disappointing visit, the £95 lunch bill was definitely not worth the trip especially considering what you can get with that value elsewhere. Such a shame as we had heard great things and were really looking forward to visiting.

I have been walking passed this restaurant for two years, and today I finally did a solo late lunch. Partaking in their 3 tapas for £18 - I elected to have the Chorizo, Chicken in Paprika sauce and Patatas Bravas. The Patatas were the most underwhelming, tasty but nothing to rave about. Chicken was dry and overcooked, but the creamy paprika sauce moved it into 2nd place. The absolute winner was the little chorizo’s done with baby potatoes and a garlic cream sauce. Heavenly and would come back just for those!! Served with a glass of house Evuna wine. I ordered white, but got the red. Easy drinking and a good deal at £4.50 for the first glass. Atmosphere was buzzing (Manchester sunshine). Service was adequate, but would worry if they were at full capacity. All in all - probably worth another try.

Reservations are required, as is usual in Manchester and most cities in the United Kingdom, but the restaurant is delicious and the staff are helpful.

Despite a 515pm booking, Evuna were able to accommodate us when we arrived....almost an hour early. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff were extremely efficient. We had the lunch menu, which had ample choice and a cracking glass of house red. There was a slight query, regarding our bill. This was swiftly dealt with and the manager couldn't have been more apologetic. On arriving and leaving the restaurant, almost every member of staff spoke to me or made some sort of acknowledgement. A big shout out to all at Evuna, especially the kitchen staff who's input often goes unrecognised.

Visited with 3 others and had booked a table which I would say is necessary as it was busy when we arrived. Food was hit and miss and I would have found portion sizes listed to be useful, staff did not advise at all and then commented we’d left some food, I would say we’d eaten 95% of our order and I felt like saying if the food was nicer we’d have eaten it all! Wine by the glass was limited, only 3 choices of red or white and 1 rose and staff weren’t very knowledgeable about this either. Prices were reasonable. I wouldn’t visit again, the food wasn’t good enough and staff were rude.

Came here for my birthday and was super late for my booking due to traffic but they still manager to accommodate us. They were super lovely and the food was amazing. Ended up sitting at the bar and the bartended was so so nice

Great atmosphere and customer service but the food was mediocre at best, it lacked flavour and was of low quality (microwaved/ready made store food standards)

We hold special memories here as came for our 1st date back in 2012. Unfortunately, this time, there wasn't the same level of service that dampened the atmosphere. There was not the same element of enthusiasm that there had previously been regarding the wines and food, and we did not feel like we mattered despite spending a lot of money on food and wine.

Booked online and was told once we arrived they needed the table back in 90 minutes which put a bit of a rush on our dining experience. Ran out of mussels for the seafood paella but it was nice regardless! However, definitely felt extortionate at £40 for 2 people

Sat my mum in a room on her own when there were window seats available in a empty restaurant 4.30 on a Friday. Waiting staff Ignored her she wanted some wine and patatas bravas. Disgusting kindness cost nothing.

We’ve always liked Evuna, but our recent visit (in a group of 8) was the most enjoyable yet. Not just good food and atmosphere (and sherry and Rioja), but the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Have been here many times. The tapas are rather boring but everything else's fine. I'd strongly recommend the ham and cheese board and the vegetable platter. The sangria is also good.

Recommending Evuna, as this is a brilliant Spanish restaurant, been to Evuna twice. Below are the delicious plates we got, Gambas al ajillo - Prawns in chili and garlic, Pescados Seabass a la plancha, Frutos Del Mar - Seafood Paella , Evuna special - Mixed seafood and chiken paella, Parrilada Mixta - Mixed Grill, Calamares a la andaluza - Deep fried squid, and cheesecake. Love the great portion and the impeccable flavour from the food they offer. Definitely well deserved to be given plenty of credit, to be consistently doing Spanish food the proper way, it's beyond our expectations to have this fabulous experience at Evuna! Truthfully thank you for the meals, much appreciated!

Great restaurante de español! Amazing wine 🍷, authentic food served by friendly staff that actually habla español. Had a beautiful evening here with my gf. Also happened to leave my belonging here and they kept it well and returned it to me the next day.

Not a patch on Evuna NQ. Food was OK but nothing special. Restaurant and staff were nice.

Arrived at 6.15 and the restaurant soon filled up. Ordered our tapas of prawns, fillet steak, potatoes with garlic and meatballs, every dish was fantastic, tasty and plenty of each one. We felt we needed some bread so ordered garlic bread, a lovely jug of sangria went well with our tapas, it was just like being in Spain. Attentive and friendly staff. Looking forward for our next visit.

Not great, business was not busy around 3/4 tables in at 4pm. Still the tapas came up as if it had been sat around waiting for agers, tomatoes on toast were dried and didn’t look appealing. Staff were somewhat friendly but missing the general manners every other restaurant has for example how is your food, good bye etc very simple phrases. I had the rose which I wouldn’t recommend but the white was good (unsure of the name). Honestly wouldn’t recommend but it did have a nice atmosphere to sit and chill, it’s just a shame the food wasn’t great. And additionally it was extremely plain for food covered in sauce, the bravas were poorly done. Potatoes were cold ish and just not great

We ate here on a Saturday night - 2 couples. The location is really easy to walk to from most central hotels. The restaurant was busy but we had pre-booked. The food was excellent- we had Tapas - 3 dishes each plus a couple of potato dishes for the table. The sangria was also very good. Great atmosphere and all the staff were very helpful.
