Really nice restaurant, food was very nice and the service was excellent.

The service from everyone was faultless. We arrived on a busy Saturday evening ad hoc with no booking. The head waiter made space for us would grace & courtesy. Food was excellent. Highlights being the spicy feta dip, a prawn starter and chicken breast in a creamy mushroom ouzo sauce.

Family birthday and I cannot fault the meal, atmosphere and entertainment. All the staff looked after us really well. The food was tasty. The beer and wine flowed. Why am I only giving 3 stars? The bill came and a service charge was added. I thought this fair for the service we had. It also saves you from wondering how much to tip. What ruined the evening for me was that one of the senior serving staff took me to one side and asked for a tip in cash! The barefaced cheek of it. I’d have understood his concern had they not already added one. Left a sour taste on the mouth I won’t be returning.

Food was splendid! The service was great, too! I just don't see why I would be charged a service charge when there are minimum wage laws in the UK. I am happy to give a tip by my own liking, but please don't force anything as it is not nice or right to do that.

Excellent food as at the Stockport (original). Salt grinder gave VERY chunky salt which left the meal crunchy so they need an update. Excellent dessert and Irish Coffees. Can't recommend enough. Simply remarkably Excellent. Also lovely and clean. Good clean loos too which imo is the best way to judge a restaurants cleanliness.

I have read previous reviews and was therefore looking forward to a special birthday meal. I was severely disappointed. I ordered the Rozafa special, a selection of three kebabs, my wife ordered the Halloumi kebab. Firstly when hers arrived it was just warm but strangely instead of onions or peppers the halloumi was interspersed with leeks. The leek was tough and undercooked. My three kebabs along with the chips were also just about warm. The lamb kebab was really tough. The hot and spicy kebab was far from it, the chicken kebab was passable. I left more than half my meal but no one bothered to ask if everything was alright. Our first and only visit.

Food was ok,but quite basic portions for the price you are paying. Very limited drinks options as well.

The waiter was very rude because we didnt buy the £45 bottle of wine he recomended., the lamb was really fatty and service charge was added which we didn't know about. Won't be going again.

First time me and my fiance have been. Walked in with no booking.. not a problem. Friendly greeting and made room with a table for 2. Food was amazing. Enjoyed every bite and definitely planning a meal there again....

We were welcomed very well and asked "What table we would like" and were given the menu. We ordered the meal that we wanted. On arrival of the meals, everything looked very nice until my partner and sister started their meal and found both of the meals were cold. called the waiter and he said "sorry" and took the meals away. we waited and the meals came back slightly hotter than before. Cold plates were the reason for the meals being cold. This was explained to the owner who was asking why we had not paid the service charge. We explained and his reply was" we do not have hot plates as people complained about burning their hands".

I visited with 7 friends. The extensive menu, healthy and delicious food, cheerful and energetic staff, and the music, dancing, and entertainment in the basement made for a great dinner. I like octopus, sardines, shrimp, lamb, and moussaka.

went for dinner last night and OH MY GOD it was delicious!!! the vegetarian options were so good that even meat eaters preferred them! everything was fresh and arrived super quick and service was great. the tzatziki is to die for 🤤🤤🤤🤤 midway through our meal, live music came out and the servers started dancing and one did a backflip!!!!!!!!! it was a little loud for us but we understand it was a Friday and someone’s birthday so they really made it special and i love that. will 1000000% be coming back. highly highly recommend.

Had a fantastic meal here with friends on the 16th March. We had the Mezefi set menu for £40 each, and the amount of food was plentiful and very enjoyable. Restaurant had a great atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. Highly recommended

The food itself was quite good. However, our dining experience was extremely poor due to the rude service from our waiter. While it's possible there was a communication barrier, his lack of professionalism and unpleasant demeanor negatively impacted our evening. In contrast, we noticed the younger servers attending other tables seemed much more amiable and professional in their interactions. Despite the high price point for our meal, the disappointing service from our waiter left us with an overall terrible impression of the restaurant that evening. The delicious food was unfortunately overshadowed by the subpar front-of-house experience.

Had a splendid evening here. The service is absolutely terrific . Warm and welcoming staff , authentic cuisine and a brilliant atmosphere. Superb selection of drinks too. It’s great to see a family -run restaurant in the middle of a city. Live Greek music too. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be coming back. Opa!

What a wonderful place, my first visit but I will definitely be going back 10/10

My wife & myself ate in Rozafa tonight. From the moment we entered the staff were friendly & helpful. We chose the house red wine & it was a nice smooth easy drinking red wine. For starters I had the selection of sausage & my wife had the king prawns in white wine. Both dishes were lovely. My wife’s King prawn dish especially. For main course my wife had Lamb Souvlaki & I had the house special dish Rosto (shoulder of lamb in a tomato based sauce) we both had Greek roast potatoes with our dish’s. Both dish’s were excellent & very generous in size. My dish seemed to have almost half a lamb! Unknown to us a guy turned up to entertain us, playing his mandolin. Plenty of clapping, dancing & singing with the odd plate being smashed ensued, much to the merriment of everyone. We had a fantastic night. Great food, great music & great hosts. Next time we come to Manchester we will definitely book here again 😊

I booked here for midweek meal as fancied something different and it didn’t disappoint. The booking was for 2 people. We arrived early and were given a warm welcome and shown to our table. We had Tzatziki and Halloumi for starters, then Mousaka and Swordfish with chips. It was all really nice and we were so full afterwards. We only had 1 drink, a bottle of Mythos each. I will definitely return next time I’m in Manchester. Staff were lovely.

Was here celebrating a birthday, food was OK but not as good as last time we visited. Seafood pasta had hardly any seafood and steaks were tasteless. I was also shocked to pay £4.50 for a can of coke. I don't think food is value for money.

Food was nice, service not great, never given a menu and had to ask for one, never asked about wine, no service at all really apart from bringing the food, then charged over £6 service charge, mentioned it wasn’t great to the waiter, he stormed off took it off the bill then threw the receipt at the table, wont be returning!

This was our second visit to this restaurant. On both occasions the food, service and atmosphere have been brilliant. The staff are very attentive, they join in the fun in an appropriate way. This is not the Ritz and doesn't pretend to be but if you want a great night out and know you've eaten well, with a bit of fun thrown in, this is the place. The live greek music was also a real treat.

Visited Rozafa last night for my Mums bday, the waiters were lovely! The food was ‘average’ .. I had lamb kebab, it was hard and tasteless? My Mum enjoyed her chicken kebab, my BF enjoyed his mince lamb! Maybe it was just what I ordered though? My Mum said her sardines weren’t the best either? I won’t be rushing back after wanting to go for a while! They did bring us a shot of lemoncello and a desert with a candle in for my Mum which was lovely!

Excellent authentic food, menu is extensive. Staff are friendly and attentive. We were celebrating a friends birthday and this made the day perfect.

Went there recently early Sat eve, 5.30pm. They came take our order very quickly, even though one of our party hadn't arrived. In the end we ordered for them before they arrived as we felt pressured. Ordered 2 mini mezzo to start. Very small portions for tge price, think we may have gad only one by mistake. The mains arrived immediately after starter plates were taken away. While having coffee and dessert the bill arrived without us asking. Clearly they wanted us up and gone as quickly as possible, even though we had reserved a table.

Absolutely gorgeous food here, came in Valentine's day with my son and it was decorated lovely. Very traditional Greek, feels like the real thing and the food was very tasty and well cooked.

Service was bad towards the end, waiting one hour for desert. Waiters/waitresses unsure whether we had desert or not. Surprised to see a set menu on arrival with ridiculous prices compared to the usual menu. Couldn’t take the service charge off and was forced to pay it? Weird. Decent food. Weird service.

We arrived and were surprised by a set menu and therefore could not order the food we planned to get. This was met with a hefty price for what appeared to be a 3 course meal (but later turned out to be only 2 courses!). We felt intentionally mislead and trapped as there would be no where else to go on Valentine’s day at that time. The food received was incredibly mediocre with tough chewy steak with little taste. I asked for a medium rare steak and received rare, when I pointed out the chewy steak I was told to order steaks well done if I dont want them chewy, but at other restaurants I never had this problem?! After ordering our desserts, which were good, we were surprised by being charged for them on the bill separately. Once again feeling as being intentionally mislead with an obscure menu to trick customers to pay more. We therefore left quite dissatisfied with our meal and left with paying £137 for two! Therefore, we will not be coming again

This was a disappointing experience. We went for an early evening meal. The restaurant was busy and as a result too noisy for comfort. There are no soft furnishings to dampen the sound. The food itself was reasonable but no more. I enjoyed my stifado; my wife's chicken souvlaki was basic. The chips were very poor. These were two classic Greek dishes that any Greek restaurant should do well. The toilets are in the basement. The floor of the gents was wet and the place was smelly. I will not be going back soon.

Trip advisor doesn't have an okay rating it's either average or very good. This restaurant is okay, you cannot fault the service which is excellent. The food is no nonsense, typical Greek, tasty food and plenty of it. I was really put off though by the unpleasant drain smells coming up the stairs, it was also cold in there. Fix the smell and put the heating on please. The waiters are brilliant.

Quiet inside yet service very slow which is ok we will go with the Greek vibe. It was more or less empty yet seated us right next to a family so very cramped . Chargill chicken and raw onion is what I was going to write and as I looked on the reviews below someone beat me to it . It was ok as a stop over whilst walking through Manchester wouldn’t like to go on a busy evening . Downstairs by the toilets stunk of drains . Also added on a service charge .

I can see why people HYPE about this restaurant. If youve not tried it definitely give it a go. It was really ice and very authentic Greek vibes, the staff are so nice, great service 👍🏼 I'll definitely be coming back to try some other dishes as they menu had a great choice. I tried the veggie Stuffed peppers, chips and Spanakopita (see pics).

Great Greek restaurant in Manchester City Centre. We opted for the mini-meze each, which was a nice selection of traditional Greek dishes. The food was tasty, but it came out VERY fast, so clearly wasn't as fresh as we had hoped. Visited on a Sunday around 4pm. so the restaurant was empty, can't really comment on the atmosphere/vibe. Candle lit at the dinner table, and flowers on each table made for a nice meal though. Service was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. Pretty much the only reason I'm giving this a 3/5, the price... I found this restaurant VERY expensive compared to other Greek restaurants. Mains were £20+. And a glass of Coke (not even a pint glass) was £4.50 - I couldn't believe it!

Got severed a meal I didn’t order. Overpriced. Poor service.

Ordered dips with pita for appetisers and had the Mousaka as main- everything was amazing!

excellent service excellent atmosphere but the food was very bad, a lot of pepper and spices, you didn't feel at all what you were eating, nice fries.

Great meal, plenty to eat and great service.

Went for a team dinner. The food and service was fantastic. I was completely full by the time we finished the starters!! The main course was quite good. They were happy to accommodate my special request and gave me the suitable food. We were there for close to 3 hours. The muscician continues playing non stop all three hours while some of the waiters engaged us with some dancing as well..great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend if you plan to spend 3-4 hours

I don’t even know where to begin. This restaurant is perfection. The food, the atmosphere, music and staff. You will have an unforgettable experience there. Last night was my birthday. I went there with a couple of friends to have dinner and the lovely staff there have made it an amazing night for us. I will definitely come back.

Amazing traditional Greek, been many times. Came as a group of 10 for a lunchtime meal. Drinks served swiftly, food ordered and freshly prepared. Staff work very hard.

Poor service, waiter was impatient and didn't listen to our food requirements. Food was tasteless and full of Oregano.

Poor service and below average food. 10-15 minutes after 2 out of 5 people at the table were served their food, we asked when the other dishes would come and was met with attitude. The waiter then was finding our complaint amusing as he was discussing it with his colleagues while pointing over at our table. After finally being served the rest of our order, a total of 30 minutes after the first two plates which were cold at this point as we wanted to eat together, the waiters and waitresses basically dropped the plates in front of us and said 'enjoy' with an aggressive tone. The food was far far too expensive to have that service, but even If the service was good, the food was nothing special. The pork for example was so tough I was unable to cut it. would not recommend and would not go again.

I've given 4 stars for service as the staff were lovely & very accommodating. However the food was average, my pork was quite fatty & my partners stiffado dish was just OK. We have a Greek restaurant in Chesterfield which is fantastic compared to this highly rated one in Manchester. (Sorry but we didn't experience the same as others in terms of the food).

The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere of a traditional Greek taverna - and the staff extremely friendly. Out of the three of us dining last night - one of us enjoyed our food - the other two had extremely unpleasant meals. They were cold & the stifado had the taste of what can only be described as dirty pennies / dish water. It had not been reduced down long enough for sure. The starters were decent, but the meatballs were not fresh at all and extremely mushy, I am guessing defrosted from frozen - considering the cost of the items on the menu I was expecting much much more! Very disappointed and sadly, won’t be dining again. The servers were lovely though, not going to take anything away from them 😊

I have walked past this place a number of times always wanting to try it, so finally I got the opportunity. Both of us had little experience with Greek cuisine, so we went for the sharing mega meat meze, this meant we got to try a lot of different dishes for a good price definitely recommend. To start you get all the dips fresh salad and the best pita breads I've had. The hummus was delicious. I'm not a salad person but I really enjoyed it. Then the hot dishes came out and it was incredible, no space left on the table. Each dish tasted great beef stew very tender, tasty lamb chops, kebabs chewy but flavourful, only let down was the chips but that's nothing to worry about they were home made at least. Dessert we shared a baclava one of my favourite choices this one was very sweet but wonderful with the ice cream. The experience of the night I would recommend the food tasted wonderful, clean restaurant with attentive happy staff. Will visit again once we return to Manchester

I've never been in here before and I have too be honest. I've never been in a Greek restaurant either. I ordered the Kleftiko ( large leg of lamb ) for a change from chips, I went with the rice. I've gotta say, it was 1st class. Great atmosphere, great staff and a place I will certainly go back to very soon.

Have been here a number of times over the years. My last visit however, the food was very dry and overcooked. Staff are friendly, it can get a little loud on busy nights.

What a great evening! The food was so good - I had the Stifado and it was - chef’s kiss! There was live Greek music which added to the atmosphere and despite the heavy rain outside, it felt sunny and cheerful inside.

The atmosphere is the key to this restaurants success. Really good vibe inside that replicates being in a little Greek tavern. I don't think the food matched this vibe though. Everything was just okay, would struggle to give anything more than a 7/10 and for the price I would most likely just come back for a drink to soak up the atmosphere.

Rozafa is located in the Manchester city, with short walking distance from St. Peter Square metrolink. This restaurant provides Greek cuisine. Food is delicious and the price is reasonable. The portion size of the dishes is appropriate too. The service of one waiter is welcoming while others so-so.

Highly recommend! Hands down the best Greek / Cypriot food restaurant in the whole of Manchester. Everything is authentic, cooked to perfection and served by a delightful team waiters and staff. The menu contains a variety of anything to suit your needs including original Greek / Cypriot wines and beers, dropped at your table almost instantly. The atmosphere is wonderful, with happy staff and traditional music playing throughout you feel apart of a genuine Greek environment whilst enjoying the most wonderful taste of delicacies! 10/10

It was a distressing visit. As we entered the restaurant the waiter greeting us was very absent and rude by attitude. We felt unwelcome . We ordered our food and drinks with him, but still not even a twinge or a smile . Anyway , that was the beginning of our experience. My wife ordered some grilled chicken , the rest of us different main menu dishes. When the food order arrived My wife's chicken looked burned. The taste was bitter because of that. We showed that to the waiter. He said it is cooked as it should be, as otherwise we can get sick. My wife returned it to the kitchen and said she can't eat it like that. When we asked to pay, that dish wan on the bill. Weird , rude and confusing as she ate nothing at all. I asked , politely again, to speak to a manager. The manager came across, we explained that the customer service the waiter provided was inexistent and that the chicken was burnt. Even he said that it was cooked properly and that 20 years experience 😳 can't be erased. But I am sorry, we can not eat burnt meat , just because !!! At least he apologised but it is the last time we are coming in this restaurant. You should be banned serving or interacting with customers. They added a £14,99 service charge as well. For what? For being rude?!?!? I would never go in there. Really, really dissatisfied and disappointed! Greeks are always showing respect and value ! This so called restaurant doesn't!

Great place to eat. Feels family run. Staff sat in the corner rolling vine leaves chatting and laughing just gave the restaurant a nice feel and atmosphere. We got a meze and mixed souvlaki and it was all excellent!

Fantastic restaurant all round. Staff awesome, food tastes great, everything about that place was 5 star.

Tried to book a table online but never got reply email so we turned up the person on the door did seat us without any issue but told us we’d booked too late. Food was delicious and good sized portions. Only reason I’ve not scored the highest I can is down to the amount of flys around the walls were covered in them which I didn’t notice till we had already been served our mains just didn’t make the experience what we wanted.

Oh what a delight! We had eyes bigger than our bellies! Such generous portions and tasty food - lip-smacking good. Fabulous service and the atmosphere allowed us to chat without having to shout. Next time we're in Manchester, we'll be back!

Booked online, was told I would get a confirmation email. Never did so called up days in advance. Was told it was all manual but assured it was all OK and my confirmation would be sent through (after giving my name on the booking). Still never got it so called again and was told there was no booking and they could only squeeze me in at 5 pm. I booked as my friend was visiting, her train due in at 5.15. Now I'm left with no booking on a Saturday night. The guy on the phone couldn't even apologise. Pathetic system and pathetic service.

They’ve put service charge and force you to pay it ! The mezes are just ridiculous its just lame marketing trick small portions and really bad service from the guy with the white beard and white hair in a ponytail,he seemed really off and was looking at us strange and talking nonsense… he couldn’t even speak when we asked him something in english he said :sorry not english TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS GUYS HE WAS REALLY DRUNK… sorry im not from England as well but at least i can communicate effectively with people?! They are looking at you while you eat its really uncomfortable and unprofessional !!! Not going there again worst 90 pound spend thanks for ruining my birthday

Was a walk in with no booking and they made a table available for 6 of us. Staff were brilliant, so helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere and the food was incredible!

Disappointing trip here really. (We still had fun as good group of us, but not to do with the restaurant!). We were seated in the basement. Service was slow. They forgot 2 of our meals and then got one of those wrong. One of us asked for half chips half rice and they said “not tonight”. Would have been better just to say they don’t do that - and really how hard would it have been? £19 for chicken skewer and 4 roast potatoes. No garnish / salad / bread etc - just felt a bit mean. And compulsory service charges…grrr. We’re not in the US. They did have Greek music and dancing and the food was tasty (albeit very expensive for what it was). Wouldn’t go back or recommend.

It's a very unpalatable restaurant. It's not like Greek food. There is a strong pungent smell in the store which is very unpleasant. The lemon in soda is very thin and there is no ice. This is a restaurant with very poor food quality. The food is very bad. Slow, the meat was tough, the tuna salad was canned, this is a Greek restaurant with very poor food.
