Dimitri's in Manchester

Lots of variety although more southern European than particularly Greek. Misleading indications of Gluten Free - needed to ask for allergens list and even then it took a conversation with the patient waitress to find something GF. No Gluten Free bread. Rice is only available mixed with pasta so not GF. No separate fryer for chips so not GF. So had to eat Patatas Bravas / Espinicas.

The staff were very accommodating. We came in on a lovely sunny day with no booking and they were able to offer us a lovely spot in the atrium. Food was served promptly and the vegetarian options are delicious.

Visited as a group of 11, lovely staff, the food was amazing. We had the party menu and it was all delicious. Great value for money and plenty for the group. We were sat indoors but were cold, so wrap up warm.

Only popped in for a nibble and a quick drink, but it made me want to stay all night! The food was absolutely delicious and everything was so well priced. The staff were so nice and welcoming, smiling the whole time. Excellent place and really excited to come back.

Dimitri's is the real-deal. Ticked all the rating boxes for me. Look forward to the next visit.

I’ve been many times over the past year, and the food just keeps getting better and better. The flavors are authentic and truly amazing. The homemade bread and sauces remind me of my mum’s recipes—absolutely comforting and full of heart. The quality of the meat is also consistently excellent. Service is always good—polite, kind, and welcoming every time.

Today, I had the opportunity to visit this traditional Greek tapas bar, which I’ve often come across on social media. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and guided to our reserved table. The staff’s professionalism and attentiveness were evident from the outset, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The service was seamless, with the team demonstrating a deep knowledge of the menu and offering helpful recommendations. The selection of tapas we ordered reflected the authentic flavours of Greek cuisine. Each dish was thoughtfully presented, and the freshness of the ingredients was noticeable. Overall, the flavours were well-balanced and met our expectations. The only minor drawback was that the calamari was slightly saltier than I would have preferred, but this did not significantly detract from the overall experience. The quality of the ingredients, the cooking techniques, and the attention to detail in the seasoning were all impressive. By Manchester standards, this restaurant delivers a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience, both in terms of taste and service. The food was incredible. Our male server told my female friend that she was pretty but too loud which she and we, as a group, didn't appreciate at all. She didn't deserve that comment in the slightest and we felt let down by a sprinkling of misogyny that our server might have thought was funny. When he repeated the comment again, the quality of the food seemed a distant memory and we left with our sour taste in our mouths. Please please treat all guests with kindness and respect regardless of their gender. This is something that I didn't imagine I'd be typing in a review for an amazing restaurant, in a progressive city in 2025.

Terrific buzz to the place, even though it was mid week. Staff appeared chilled and friendly. Food appeared quickly and we all ate everything, really tasty.

Went for dinner with a friend on a Friday evening, great atmosphere and friendly service. The olives were too salty to eat but the rest of the food (salad, tiropita, meaty kalamata platter) were good. Although it says a salad comes with the platter, it’s more of a garnish, so if you’re into Greek salad as I am, order one as a separate dish!

We had a reservation for a work dinner one evening while in town. We got seated promptly and the man the food journey began! We had an amazing waitress that served us and made the experience fantastic. We had drinks, appetizers, main courses, and ended with desserts. The food was excellent and we probably ordered too much, but we were able to eat it all.

Quite simply the best experience. We arrived for a pre theatre birthday lunch with my Mum, sister and three young children (5,7 and 8). We were seated in a lovely seating area and the waiter was attentive but patient as we took our time to decide on our menu choices. He offered the children free drinks (even though they weren't eating off the children's menu which included a drink) and went out of their way to interact with the children. When we asked about the calamari/ squid we decided on the white bait instead however it was a lovely surprise when he then brought a little squid so that we would know for next time if we liked it. We had not spent money on drinks and had not ordered dessert so were amazed when they then produced a large platter type dessert for my Mum with various Baklava and a candle on top. So kind, generous and all of the food was delicious and fresh. The service was also prompt but relaxed. We will definitely be back.

The food was the best greek food i have ever tasted, i grew up eating it as my family was greek. The food took me back the grill and the meze selection was unreal. The service was not there, we couldnt get a waiter, drinks were late and it looked like most of the tables had the same problem. The food makes up for it though massively. Although it was a saturday and it was busy we thought it could have been better.

Estábamos sentados en una encantadora zona de estar y el camarero era atento pero paciente, ya que nos tomamos nuestro tiempo para decidir sobre nuestras opciones de menú. Ofreció a los niños bebidas gratis (aunque no estaban comiendo fuera del menú infantil que incluía una bebida) y se esforzó por interactuar con los niños. Cuando preguntamos por los calamares/calamares nos decidimos por el cebo blanco, sin embargo fue una sorpresa encantadora cuando luego trajo un poco de calamar para que supiéramos para la próxima vez si nos gustó. Blue Funghi Mushrooms pan fried in a blue cheese and cream sauce. Gameroni King prawns cooked with peppers and onions in a cream and white wine sauce. Served with a choice of pasta, pilaf rice or fries. Med Bread with butter, olive oil and balsamic glaze. Spanakopita Greek hot spinach pastry rolls with a tomato and coriander salsa. Tagine Moroccan spiced vegetables, chickpeas, spinach, dried fruits served with couscous and hummus. Papoutsakia Aubergine baked with a mozzarella and parmesan topping. Glyka An assortment of Greek desserts, fruits and other delights to share, served with Greek yogurt, honey, mixed nuts and raisins. Which had Baklava - it was layers of filo pastry filled with nuts drenched in Mediterranean honey and nuts, Kataifi - rolled pastry strands with almond and pistachio centre, soaked in honey. Chocolate Brownie. Portokalopita A traditional Greek syrup cake made with phyllo and infused with orange flavor. Calamarakia Traditional deep fried small squid with lemon and dill mayonnaise. Fried Halloumi Cypriot cheese drizzled with a sweet chilly dipping sauce Gigantes Me Feta Giant butter beans in tomato sauce topped with crumbly feta Tabouleh Salad Couscous salad goats cheese, sun-dried tomatoes with house dressing.

Dimitri’s is the nicest friendliest place to eat in Manchester. The fried halloumi “is the best” Luke. Sharna and Suzy look after us every week, all the staff are so friendly, can’t recommend it enough.

Visiting sons in manchester and picked this place for a meal out, can't rate it highly enough, we were served by the owner who was a really nice guy and clearly passionate about the restaurant and his families recipes that are served. Food was really top level with some different options from the usual menus all at a good price. The place itself is really nice In a authentic rustic way with a great lively atmosphere. I will definitely return.

We're in the basement, food arrived too fast,it wasn't believable and really wasn't the quality expected bland, and only warm. (1st Feb) nothing to complain about but just not the standard this place normally gives

Visiting family who chose Dimitri's. Really good food. My tip is to order the food in stages to share like mezze rather than all at once. Take your time over lots of courses. Absolutely loved the aubergine 'dip' with pitta bread and wished we had had 2 portions, the butter bean dish was fabulous and seabass was lovely. The greek coffee was terrific and the greek dessert platter to share sweet and a delicious way to finish. Would not have the belly pork again, it was very well cooked but was basically thick sliced bacon. My wife loved the Bramble cocktail which oozed raspberry. Only improvement was that it was chilly and to whack up the heating indoors and bit. Total bill for 3 inc 3 drinks 3 coffees and lots of food and service was £120. Would definitely go back.

Been here many times but last night very dissapointing we had starters but 3 of us just wanted mezzo mains which came as 1 small skewer of 5 small chicken pieces with Tsaksiki and a couple of pieces of lettuce for £9.00 very very dissapointing I had the pork and was the same except as tuff as old boots

Overall this was a disappointing experience compared to the reputation and for the price. Service was just ok - we didn't have one person looking after us but about 5 different people and only one or two were attentive. Had to wait to order, then wait for the bill. Two things I'd been excited about ordering weren't available but were still on the menu. The quality of the food was quite average compared to expectations from reviews. Falafel was awful - barely cooked, green mush. Greek salad was small and not like any Greek salad I had in Greece. One of our party was vegan and made that clear, but the salad came with small pieces of cheese in it where it must have been added in the kitchen then removed and this isn't really acceptable to a lot of vegans. We ordered 5 or 6 things, the meatballs were great, it was good quality feta cheese, but everything else was ok or disappointing. Nothing here worth returning for, and avoid if vegan.

Dmitry's restaurant is definitely worth a visit! We ordered a variety of meze with the family, and every dish was uniquely delicious. The flavours were so incredible that we didn’t even have time to take any photos. The service was top-notch – 10 out of 10 – quick, professional, and attentive. A special thanks to the chefs on duty for an unforgettable culinary experience. Highly recommend it to everyone!

Lovely restaurant with great food but my biggest pet hate at restaurants is the food coming out within minutes of ordering. It makes you feel rushed as a customer. It seemed a bit odd that all 8 plates we ordered came out within 5 minutes of placing our order, we had barely sipped our wine. I’m all for a speedy service but this was just too quick and we wanted some time to enjoy our wine and have the excitement of knowing our food was coming soon! Unfortunately this has made me reluctant to return.

Visited Dimitris last night while staying in Manchester, thought we’d see what it was like as we love Greece and Greek food. Safe to say we were blown away. We ordered a couple of starters and the Meaty sharing platter. The quality, flavours and freshness of the food were absolutely incredible! The restaurant itself is beautifully done out, and made us feel like we were back in Greece. It’s safe to say it was the nicest meal out we’ve ever ever had. Staff were so friendly, particularly the waiter who talked to us about Greece and where we’ve visited etc, sadly didn’t catch his name. We will 100% be back when we’re next in Manchester!!🥰🤍

Didn’t like it here at all, the food came out within minutes of us ordering - which in most cases would be great - however we ordered quite a lot of small plates for us both to share and for them to be out within minutes was strange, the chicken tasted like it had been microwaved if you know the taste I mean, the portions for the small plates were tiny for the price, should’ve probably just got a main. Staff were nice, the outside area was cosy but wouldn’t come back in a rush

Normally my favourite place to eat in Manchester, the Gambas Chilli is always a must but for some reason this time around I was served with a plate of cheap prawns with barely any sauce and a completely different taste to the usual, the service again is usually spot on but the waiter we had was barely interested in taking our order or clearing the plates afterwards to ask us if we wanted desert which we did but after waiting at least 10 minutes with our dirty plates still on the table, we ending up having to ask him for the bill and going somewhere else afterward - this was a Sunday and was not busy otherwise we would have understood

Me and my better half went to dimitri's while we are staying in Manchester while receiving treatment at the Christie. The team at the Christie recommended Dimitri's and with a babysitter sorted we went! The food was fantastic and atmosphere was perfect, but we simply ordered too much. If you have a big appetite get dips to start with and 3 mezes each. If not I'd recommend 2 each. The team were caring and kind and even got us to our table early. The timing and service of our food clearly indicates a well run kitchen. My favourite was the sea brass. My better half was the chilli prawns.
