This is a lovely setting for a restaurant but totally disgruntled today ! Ordered sourdough toast with spread for £3.95... expected 2 slices but just one small slice came cut into two!! Questioned them as I have had this previously with 2 slices but they confirmed 'one slice only but it is hand made'! Way over priced !!

My husband had lamb and mushroom pie I had Cumberland sausage we both enjoyed our meals then we had pudding hubby had ice cream I had crumble and I must say I have never tasted crumble so nice it was that nice I did not want it to end. I would recommend this place for food and especially the crumble. It also has nice views and friendly staff.

Refused to double cup a dangerously hot medium black Americano which was burning my fingers so I walked away, losing 3.80 but staying safe. I won't be back. My safety is more important. Got a nice black coffee from Greg's instead in a safer cup

A lovely welcome from staff and excellent service. The tea was one of the best I have had . Everything was spotlessly clean and ladies loos with fresh flowers .

Nice coffee served in this shop but the reason I give it a 4 is that the staff here are certainly not the most jolly and at some points they are almost miserable! Not the most welcoming!

Don’t be put off by the outside of The Greyhound which looks a bit tired. Inside our room No5 was big, clean and well kept. The bar and restaurant area was quirky and on trend. The staff were all lovely pub food was great with real home made pie not the rubbish mass catered pie in a bowl with a crust. Breakfast was also amazing really nice local sausage, thick bacon and properly cooked and seasoned mushrooms (my favorite) a great stay. Thank you.

Delivery was very quick and food was hot. Was starting to enjoy our meal but then was very disappointed. Curry was very watery and then to top it off we found a spider inbetween our poppadoms. Needless to say we didnt carry on with our meal. Not good.

Myself and my partner stayed for one night here at Punchbowl inn. We can from Glasgow and were made feel most uncomfortable by the locals in the bar. Whilst we tried to enjoy our drinks. Being out in the middle of nowhere it made me quite uneasy to say the least and ruined our stay as even after the place closed they were hanging around. We were contacted by the manager and promised a free nights stay and dinner if we didn't leave a bad review. Time came we thought we would take up the offer, the condition was we had to stay two nights and pay £120 for one night and would stay the other night free, this wasn't the agreement. Wouldn't recommend.

We arrived at the Southwaite services northbound in M6 on 24th May 2925. The entire carpark and the 'landscaped' area, around the buildings was covered with litter. It was a disgrace. There were a lot of empty bins and a lot of bins bursting with rubbish. I understand no one can stop the filthy people of Britain dropping litter but if you provide a food takeaway service then employees of the individual franchises OR the Moto staff should clear this every morning. This was a shameful sight, a poor impression for tourists, a poor impression on the approach to Scotland and shows a total lack of care for the environment. The very most we spent in this disgraceful place was a penny, we used the not so impressive toilets and left. I will also be writing to Keep Britain/Scotland beautiful.

We attended the week after Easter and all of te staff were helpful, knowledgable and friendly. We were especially helped by Coral who went out of her way to help our grandchildren in the restaurant. Thank you all so very much in making the holiday one to remember.

Good and local beer. Food was perfectly acceptable and especially nice to have vegetarian options making a change from the usual pie and chips or fish and chips options in the Lakes. A little way up the hill but not that far at all. Great views on the way back down.
