Moto Southwaite Northbound in Eden

It's a nice but tired service station that could really do with a bit of investment and tlc. The toilets were clean and pleasant. The staff in the M&S were helpful and friendly, it was well stocked and had a good selection for a little store. The seating area was very sad, the chairs were worn and grubby and the tables had hardly any varnish left on them.

This review is specifically for Jamie, manager of M&S Southwaite service N. He helped me when my car was sent into sleep mode by the Gridserve EV charger. He came to my vehicle, tried a few tricks, looked up stuff on his phone and added me to the list so I don't get a parking fine. And all with a smile 😊

First time there as a Hgv driver, parking overnight. The lady in WH Smith’s was very helpful but this was later ruined by the experience of being stood at the Burger King and being ignored. Stood there for 10 minutes while new people where being served behind me. I will never stop there again. Disgusting behaviour!!!

It's a motorway service station

Campervan blocking disabled parking spaces yet staff see what they are doing and say/do nothing meaning we have had to park at the back of car park and struggle over. Tables dirty when going to eat

Went yo KFC service painfully slow waited 25mins for a bargin bucket

Sorry we stopped there!! Absolutely filthy ladies bathrooms. The smell of urine was so strong, no soap in the dispenser, toilets covered in toilet paper & dirty. The cleaning lady was in the bathroom but did not even notice there was no soap or toilets filthy. I said - no soap but she wasn’t interested. We just got food to eat in the car as most of the dining tables were dirty and covered in food. This is by far the worst, most unhygienic service station we have been in. Surely there should be staff for this in a busy service station!!!

Wrong order given in cafe. Staff more interested in chatting amongst themselves. Complete indifference and lack of awareness

OK but, the outside near Greg's is disgusting. Cigarette butt's lying all over and rubbish, the place is obviously not cleaned in a while.

Decent service station, has all you would need

Robert was fantastic. He went out of his way to locate a misplaced phone and kept it safe for us until we could return to collect. He wouldn’t accept any kind of gift or reward but he really made a potentially terrible situation so much better. Thank you Robert.

The services desperately need some maintenance to grounds and parking areas need to better marked out. Everywhere looks shabby.

Great stop for going north, quite and plenty of services.

The tables and the floor inin front of the kfc, was not the best, I couldn’t find a clean one so had to sit in BK area. I travel up and down the country and this is probably the the worst for cleanliness I’ve come across

Adequate: all you need for a stopover. Royal Mail pillar box on the southbound sure, emptied very early each day.

Somewhat refreshed after being grim for years. The addition of M&S has helped a great deal! The normal choices available for food.

Always stop here on the way to Scotland for coffee and fuel. Always pop into Costa, large comfortable seating areas. There is also a Burger King, KFC, Greggs and WH Smith’s. Toilets are large and clean. Big car park with lots of tress and space to walk dogs.

as a coach driver i regularly used north bound services but im done with it. when im bringing 40+ passengers in and cant get parked safely because of HGV's in the coach bays its time to move on.

Very relaxing view of mountains just sit there for couple of minutes and you tiredness would go away💯💯💯💯

This service station is north of the wonderful and expensive Tebay services. This service station is good because the toilets are clean and it has a Greggs and a M & S shop. These shops are more affordable than others. If you just want a cheaper tea or coffee and a snack then come here rather than Tebay. I like Tebay, but struggle with the prices.

I visited North Burger King for my lunch on the way to work, Joe, Kasia and Rachel were really helpful and chatty. Joe was very lovely and helped me use the kiosk to place my order. I visit southwaite a lot due to travel for work and it never disappoints

Best place to stop on M6 alway a target services

Urinals had heavy urine smell and were not clean, dry urine and pubic hair in urinals. Soap dispensers either didn’t work properly or didn’t have soap. Bottle soap was provided. At least two water taps were not working and the one that did, did not have a good flow rate. Dryers were good though.

Pretty standard motorway services, notable points being very expensive fuel, good Cornish pasties, disabled parking being taken over by electric vehicle charging points, well kept toilets. Update 30th December 2024 ... called in again while on my way home ... I wondered why are there so few disabled parking spaces to begin with, and why the electric charging spaces are in the 'prime locations' where some of the disabled spaces used to be. Pretty poor, really.

Terrible place, dirt everywhere, food and garbage on the floor. The tables haven't been wiped, I don't know since when. I haven't seen such a dirty place for a long time. Although KFC's dishes are tasty, I recommend eating them at home.

Came here for years. One day I was there for a couple of hours (spending money there) and next thing I know I get a letter demanding 170 quid. Bailiffs, threats, third party interlopers trying to muscle-in on any bounty and add a few more quid to the sums mentioned. It absolutely stinks. I'll never go to this place again and I opt for Welcome Break etc if possible. Years of custom, 170 quid extortion attempts. That's what MOTO really thinks of you.

Place needs a make over. Grubby

Services in general were ok. The lady assistant in Greggs was rather rude and offhand to myself and another customer. Not like Greggs staff at all.

Usually stop off for a brew if we are visiting gretna.

Called off here on Monday 11th November on our way to Northumbria. The disabled facility is super, we were able to park in a disabled bay a short distance from a totally disabled toilet situated next to the parking bays. It was superbly equipped with everything needed including a full hoist as well as a wheelchair accessible toilet. The facility was extremely clean and well maintained. Well done Moto

Female toilets absolutely disgusting. A visit at 10:20 on a Saturday morning & from approximately 20 toilets none of them were clean all in an awful state, I have seen toilets in a night club at 3am in a better state. Avoid!

Quick stop to gas up and use restroom

Parking was good, although several vehicles went around the carpark looking for the exit. Burger King food was very poor, although the cornish pasty was a little better. I would not recommend either. Hopefully, the other outlets are better.

Complicated and dangerous road layout

Most run down dirty services I have been too. Sock on the floor dirty floors. The windows you could not see out of as they were that filthy.

The tables are always covered in rubbish, bins overflowing. Paying a premium to eat in conditions that aren't great.

Absolutely disgusting!! Baby changing facilities look like they've NEVER been cleaned, nappy bin overflowing nappies all over the floor, VERY dirty, unhygienic and the smell was atrocious.

Great for when you're going north, burger king is good. Everything is overpriced to death (as per the service station rules). Not so handy If you're going south.

Moto Southwaite M6 Northbound Services is a reasonably priced, reasonably clean, and reasonably cheerful. At time of writing, the northbound station featured WH Smith, Burger King, Greggs and an outdoor West Cornwall Cornish Pasty stall. The toilets are reasonably well looked after and I noticed that there are options for showers. The car park includes some charge points for EV chargers. It is possible to cross to the Southbound services for a change of scene by way of a pedestrian flyover. For what it is, there is no reason to award the station 5 stars because for what it is, it does what is is bid to do.

We were served by Kiril who was so lovely and polite, I'm autistic and struggled to use the order panel so he let me order at the till. He showed me great patience and was wonderful, honestly 5 star service from him!

Review of burger king. Big queues for kiosk. It didnt accept app codes despite having the feature, it said to see front desk to redeem. So cancelled order and queued for the front desk, only to have them say they don't accept codes when I got there. Waste of time, staff member was rude. Avoid and go elsewhere

Great place to stop for a break

I was in the northbound side of the services at night and met a very helpful staff member in the Costa that was happy to help and would like to say a big thank you , didn't catch a name but a big thank you!! 👻

Excellent bacon butty and latte at Greg's. Always stop when passing. Also excellent disabled toilet and facilities. One of the best we've come across on our travels.

Ladies toilets all backed up on the right. Toilets on left all doors locked. Soap dispensers near empty and one hand dryer didn’t work properly.

Normal motorway services etc high prices only issue that the male toilets were filthy and rubbish on the floor, this was in the evening and overnight.

It's a service station. Loos were clean. The usual overpriced amenities. We spent a penny but otherwise did not waste any!

Called in to trial there ev charging facilities. Pointless majority not working. You wouldn't expect petrol/diesel drivers to accept the majority of pumps not to working. Seriously need to up your standards.

Moto Southwaite Northbound is a great place to take a break on a long journey.
