We visited Penrith 'Costa Coffee' on Thursday morning 19th September. Actually I arrived 5 minutes or so before my three friends and ordered my latte. As usual I was greeted by friendly, chatty but business-like counter staff . Later, my friends arrived some of whom have mobility issues and no sooner had they arranged seating and sat down ... then a member of staff called "Kirsty" appeared, unprompted, at the table (it's normally counter service) to take orders and then bring coffees & chocolate drinks directly to the table. The considerate attitude of Kirsty & other members of staff is a credit to Penrith 'Costa Coffee' and means that we will continue to be regular customers in future. A big thanks to Kirsty & others! Simply awful. So called egg mayonaise sandwich was cheap bread, no trace of mayo and less than one egg content. Couldn't eat it. Cheese and tomato toastie - cheap bread and cheap ingredients. Hardly tasted of anything. Gave up after eating half of it. My first and last visit to a Costa

Very welcome warming drinks on a cold winters day. Despite being busy, staff were coping admirably. Good range of snacks available all at reasonable prices. Tables were cleared quickly which doesn’t always happen in busy cafes. Decor is a little dated and it can appear rather gloomy!

The small team work incredibly hard here and should be congratulated for dealing with the huge array of drinks and food. Nobody has to wait too long . And it is a brand that produces standard good coffee in all its outlets

Costa Coffee in Penrith town centre is a clean and smart branch of the chain without being particularly special in terms of design or decor. Service was good, as one expects of the brand, as were the coffees.

We didn't think this branch of Costa really had much to recommend it. It's a typical Costa to be found in most towns these days serving the same drinks and snacks in a building where the decor is rapidly becoming dated. Now they have been taken over, maybe matters will improve. We accept it was a busy Saturday morning and maybe this branch was short staffed but there didn't seem to be anyone clearing tables and generally the place looked neglected...both inside and out. The coffee was OK...nothing special and could have been hotter. We have to admit, we prefer independent coffee shops of which there are several in Penrith( including a splendid one adjacent to the little car park opposite M&Co) but we were with friends who took us to Costa. Doubt we would visit again.

Worst Costa visited. The decor is so old and tired - this costa is crying for an upgrade. No working fridge. Windows were steamed up. Staff were polite but I wouldn't go there again.

Visited here for a cupa. Very busy establishment we sat outside as we had a dog. Service was very slow we eventually got 2 cups of tea we shared a table with a mother and daughter (non smokers) outside and about 15 cigarettes from other patrons who had children with them would not recommend 2/10

I rarely go to Costa these days, preferring to use independents where possible. We tried this one in the absence of such an alternative open early morning in Penrith before the long train journey home. My cortado was OK without being overly special, but at least it helped wake me up for the journey ahead.

I have reviewed here before but not for a while and as I visit 3 times a week thought I should do it again. I have to say that there is one staff member who excels all others. I have a brain injury and consequently have difficulties and yesterday he noticed and took time to make sure I was ok. He is always polite and friendly. I have been to many costas and the drinks aren't always full like they should be but Ryan always makes sure they are. When he's working the tables are always clean and so are the toilets. Infact When he's not on there is a massive difference. So yes. Shout out to Ryan. Well done.

When spending the day in Penrith walking around the shops there its nice to have a break and take a coffee. Costa is always a good bet for this and i went for a Hot Chocolate as normal, great service, little que so enjoyed the trip, tip is to use the upstairs area as its less crowded.

I love Costa. I love that the cappuccino tastes exactly the same, excellent, in every one I visit. The Penrith Costa is no exception: friendly staff, clean tables, clean loos. The only criticism concerns accessibility:there is a small, steep threshold which caught the subframe of my mobility scooter on the way out.

Was in the queue waiting to be served. 3 big blue bottles in the glass cabinet walking around all the cakes. Told the young girl who took out one of the cakes that the fly was sitting on but let the 3 flies in. After standing for a further five mins waiting for my turn watching the flies jump from one cake to another I didn't order a cake. Just stuck to drinks .

Not having been to Penrith before this house exchange visit, I didn't know if they had my favourite coffee house and so was pleased to find them. The drinks, hot and cold, were up to the mark but what stood out was the helpful staff. Downstairs was fairly busy with the attendant noise level so we climbed the many stairs to find an ocean of calm upstairs. The serving staff realised where we were and carried our drinks up the stairs for us.When we saw there were no sachets of sugar supplied upstairs they trotted off and brought some to our table. Really good service. Note to management:- get some sugar, napkins and stirrers upstairs pronto, if only to save your staff's legs!

Costa looks like a tradional pub architecturally, but with a major Spanish-themed makeover. The staff are dressed in theme, as is the menu, and the atmosphere is lively and warm. The tapas we tried were good and tasty. Tapas portions are very large, and priced accordingly so we only ordered 2, restricting the variety.Liked the cocktails too.
