The best restaurants in Penrith West Eden North West

Awful customer service. Don't book in advance. We booked in advance and have the phone log to show our booking phone call. When we arrived a few days later the restaurant was shut. When we rang their other restaurant we were told they have gone bust and it won't be open anymore and so they didn't care we had got dressed up and travelled through for our meal. In fact she actually laughed at our disappointment. We later learned that it had happened to others also. They take your booking and then don't bother opening. we used to go all the time under the previous owners. Not anymore!!

This barn was pretty much abandoned the last time I walked this way some 20 years ago. Discovering a walker's cafe was a very welcome surprise. Good cakes, excellent coffee and an excellent variety of local ice cream. Yas was a friendly and polite hostess, who also told is the best vantage point to see Scalehow Force on our walk back to Patterdale. Its isolated location means you're unlikely to go out of your way to visit, but do stop if passing. There are good views over Ullstwater from the outside tables, and welcome shelter inside it it's raining.

We booked in for a two night stay and on arrival enjoyed a very friendly greeting and an excellent evening meal. the room was very pleasant, Immaculately clean and presented, with everything you may need. Breakfast was very good indeed and served with a smile. The owner and all the staff did everything they could to make us happy and comfortable, again always with a smile. A really happy place. Suffice to say it will be first choice when we are back in the area.

Went in with wife I had chicken potato and tarragon pie with mash and veg, she had jacket potato and tuna mayo with salad. All excellent and including coffee cost £21. Polite staff, very clean.

This place is never stale. Over the years I've been here so many times and it's always a great atmosphere with excellent service. The cocktails are top notch, the food is gorgeous and the staff are genuine, hardworking and lots of fun. It's also well priced.

Top food and facilities one not to be missed.

Tuve el plato más patético que he comido en mucho tiempo; Este era un huevo de gallina con espárragos. Básicamente, un huevo duro ligeramente cubierto de masa sin condimento alguno. Las 3 lanzas de espárragos estaban frías, igual que el plato. Para la comida principal tuve una lubina frita con lo que parecía un puerro pequeño de algún tipo. Los puerros se sonrojaron ligeramente en agua caliente, por lo tanto, eran duros, pero para colmo, no se lavaron y tuvieron que soportar la molienda más terrible del suelo. Cuando planteé esto con el personal, no hubo disculpas aparte de 'le haré saber al chef'. Antes de esto, tuvimos que esperar lo que parecían años para que alguien recibiera nuestras bebidas. En cualquier lugar donde el personal vino a tomar nuestros pedidos de comida, teníamos que preguntar si podíamos tener pedidos de bebidas primero. Esto fue seguido por otra larga espera. Los cubiertos también estaban sucios y también había una falta de ambiente. Notamos que en línea dice que este restaurante tiene 2 estrellas AA Rossette, pero en el restaurante hay un plato en la pared que muestra que ha sido galardonado con 1 AA Rossette. Le pediría cortés y asertivamente que se revisen los criterios de adjudicación (Rossette) o tal vez ya no sea adecuado para su propósito porque este lugar es una broma, por decir lo menos.

Was very nice to stay and eat will go agai

I recently visited Villa Bianca and it was an absolutely awful experience. First off, the food was stone cold when it arrived at our table. I’m not talking about slightly warm, I mean it was ice cold like it had been sitting out for hours. How can a restaurant serve food like this? When I mentioned it to the staff, they barely acknowledged it and didn’t even offer to fix the problem. Speaking of the staff, their attitude was downright rude. They seemed completely uninterested in helping or even being polite. No smiles, no effort to make us feel welcome, just cold and indifferent service. It's honestly the worst service I’ve had in a long time, and it really ruined what was supposed to be a nice meal. Don’t waste your time or money here. Would not recommend to anyone!

Ordered chef specialist curry and chicken dansak food was heaven on earth, pest I penrith by far . I would recommend you to try this resturent you will not be disappointed 100 %

Food nice but the place looked pretty unclean

Absolutely phenomenal customer service. We order from here weekly/two weekly and get the same order. However this time there was a slight misunderstanding and we partially got the wrong order. I rang and they sorted it instantly! Absolutely fantastic and a credit to Penrith! Also the food is absolutely beautiful!

*Booths*: £4.25, coffee 6/10 (no flat white option so too milky), roll 7/10 (good quality, no butter/only marg). Overall 7/10 *Cranstons*: £3.85, coffee 2/10 (just not good), roll 7/10 (Cumberland is best of all deals, very peppery/spiced, no butter/only marg, nice chutneys, bread roll a bit doughy) Overall 5/10 *Greggs*: £2.85, coffee 7/10 (actually decent, a bit highly caffeinated for me), roll 5/10 (decent at the price point, always bacon though as sausage are low quality, no butter/only marg) Overall 6/10 *Tim Hortons*: £3.50, coffee 3/10 (just go black coffee in which case 7/10, everything else far too milky), wrap 5/10 (tastes kind of nice at the time, but you know it’s crap - like crack) Overall 4/10 *Rheged*: £4.25, coffee 8.5/10 (no flat white option so too milky), roll 8.5/10 (good quality, butter, lovely crunchy roll, bacon or sausage as an option are fine and an extra quid for both) Overall 8.5/10

Lovely coffee delicious mince pies and wonderful staff. It's worth a visit to see the amazing decorations.
