Top food and facilities one not to be missed.

Snap payment, toilets and showers very clean. On Friday at 4.30 p.m. there were a lot of free places and, contrary to some comments, I was there at 3 a.m. on Saturday and the toilet, shower and shop were normally open.

Parking frigo .. as you enter after the barriers you take it to the left .. there is also a sign for frigo where to park .. You can pay with Snap .. Where you included a free shower or it depends on what agreement your company has with them, shower or food voucher .. clean showers .. good food! Friendly staff ! 👏🏻

Got there at 20.45 Thursday and it was full, first time there and my last. Running out of hours at this point looking for somewhere to park up for the night, not impressed.

Stopped here the night on my travels. I must say what a amazing place. The facilities are brilliant. I used the companies snap account to park but I think it's 24 pound for the night I'm not 100% sure but when you park up go into the shop and they will sort you out . The restaurant 🍴 is brilliant food was great and at a good price. The showers and toilets 🚻 were very clean . All the staff I came into contact with were spot on .there are plenty of parking spaces but it does fill up fast . I will definitely use this again when I'm in the area .

Food OK plenty of it , drinks nice , nice clean tidy place . Staff polite and friendly. Reasonably priced for what u get . Certainly not posh but very adequate.

A lottery if it’s open . Twice now been and it’s closed 1700 h on a Friday night . Last time was a Saturday morning. 0800 h Will not be wasting any more driving time going into the place .

Alcohol from cans was out of date and the food is basic and overpriced. Showers and toilet facilities are good though

One of the best Truck stops in the country!! Loads of parking, Very clean toilets and showers!! A shop with basics you may need and a decent on site cafe/ restaurant! Will definitely be going back again when the time comes..

Pull in on a Friday night for parking but told no spaces left even though there was clearly 2 spaces available. This is confirmed by my colleague who is already parked up. I called the shop as I drove off and was told there was 3 spaces available but due to been on the M6 he could guarantee me a space. Disgusting treatment of a driver who had been out in the high winds all day and just wanted a safe place to park. Your loss I took my money elsewhere where and had better food for half the price.

Very good Tuckstop, clean showers, toilets too, good meal! You have to stop there for a good night!

Decent food and facilities. Staff are friendly and there’s plenty of truck parking. Place is also open to car drivers aswell. You get 3 hours free parking after which you’ll need to pay for 24hours

I park here very often I still say it is one of the best places to park for Hgv in the UK

Great food, decent showers. Parking can be tight and perhaps you’ll find yourself on a slope!

Good food and facilities however canteen staff very rude more interested in there private conversations before serving customers.

Parking is good and toilets and shower block really nice and clean. Cafe is the only problem with this place, twice I've stopped here, 1st time paid for sausage bacon and egg sandwich, got back to the truck and no egg (couldn't be bothered to go back over to change it) 2nd time served by the very rude woman who's always looking like she's shocked to see you, had the same order again but struggled to eat it as they can't even cut a sandwich in half as all the bread was ripped to pieces. While I was waiting I was having a read of the menu and I was told to move away (nobody waiting to get served) and stand over by the corner. Won't be back again.

3 hours free parking and an amazing Full Scottish breakfast . Win win...

One of the best truck stops in the country. Fridges have a separate area so really peacefull and secure nights sleep. The toilets and showers are always maintained to a high clean standard. The cafe is always clean and the food is great.

Knob on the gate said they wad full only there trucks allowed to park was a Friday I walked around was 6 or 7 free places he must remember when there trucks aren't there we pay to keep the cafe parking rant over

I've reviewed AWJ before and same as before. It is a shining example of how a truckstop should be, clean, bright, good food and welcoming. Mr Jenkinson is doing a fantastic job for our haulage industry. If by chance Mr Jenkinson would like to open another truckstop exactly the same as this one, let's say in the Manchester area, I'm sure it would be a success! Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

I arrived fairly late (19:30) and still managed to get a space. Went in to pay (the prices are very fair) and the guys in the shop were helpful and friendly. The showers are fantastic and spotlessly clean and when I commented on them, the staff in the shop said "it's how they all should be". The ladies in the restaurant were also brilliant and the food was great too. If all truckstops were of this quality, I think I'd seriously consider tramping full time again, over doing a night out once in a blue moon!

Been over 30yrs since I was last up there and it it hadn't been for the bulk fuel point I wouldn't have found it, and because its owned and run by awj I was unsure were I could go and what was available to me

This is one from the outside category. A truck stop as it should be. Made for drivers who want to relax after a long day. Great staff, clean showers and toilets and a restaurant where you can eat well. In short, great SNAP parking.

Great showers the cleanest I've ever seen in a truck stop Food was good and well priced staff are all pleasant which was great after a long day on the road all we need is a good hot shower and nice food you guys nailed it. My wee dog was made welcome too so that is definitely 5 stars 🌟

Plenty of space but after 18 o clock it gets pretty full, shower voucher otherwise 3£, and with the meal voucher they said I wouldn’t get one because of the company that I work for decided not to get one😂 never happened this before and 100% it’s not true!

Went in the shop early on bought a coffee. Machine only dispensing half a cup. Moto it is on the way south get a full cup.

The truckstop is brilliant for overnight parking, this is a safe and secure place to park. The food from the cafe is absolutely fantastic and is fairly priced and the showers are some of the best on the motorway network in England.

Brekky was banging to be fair, lady who served it was alright, didn’t speak a word but I don’t mind 😂 However another lady, come over once we’d finished and said ‘ aren’t you going to take your plate over’ like I’m being paid to ? Haha, no I didnt in the end.

Great place to stop for truck drivers who need a break area, with lots of parking on my visit. I stayed an hour in my Truck and it was free. 👍🏻

A little bit off the main road but plenty room to park up for a break or overnight with the truck.

Night out on a Sunday in this place and no access to toilets-showers-washroom..due to not being open on a Sunday but you still charge us full rate to park❓jokers

There is a parking lot, but to be honest, there is not much space. The parking lot is 90% of this company. There is practically no space for cars from the street.

Very good truck parking. Clean toilet and shower, delicious food, friendly service. The only downside is that everything is closed on Sundays, even the toilet, so I don't recommend it for the weekend! Try to stop in the first rows, the company's own trucks are parked in the back.

Non LGV driver, but I have stopped here a few times with family on our England-Scorland-England journey. Always clean and great food.

disgusting parking i arrived on saturday at lunch the guy i had to pay for the parking told me he was ill and he won't be here ok the restaurant is expensive no coverage on o2 operator wifi says he has but this internet is terrible and it's not all day, with this internet you can't post on facebook let alone watch youtube or movies let's get to the worse part on sunday nothing works in this parking lot the restaurant is closed ok their job but that on sunday they lock the toilet and the bathroom is under all criticism, avoid this parking lot I say again it's disgusting!!! and I don't forget to say that I asked the guard where I can go to the toilet, his answer was, I don't know, this is the policy of the place, everything is locked on Sundays and does not work, a person should not be able to go to the toilet on a Sunday, if at all if you decide to stop here again, make sure you don't drink anything or eat anything on Sunday because you might need to go to the toilet, and the toilet closes on Saturday at 23:00 and is unlocked on Monday at 06:00

Avoid. Worst truckstop ever. Food is overpriced and nasty. But they give you £4 voucher for it so you feel like you're getting a deal.

Arrived on Sunday at 3pm and was told closed!!!!! Maybe only open during the week

With the lack of proper motorway services along this part of the M6, decided to meet a friend here to exchange parts we'd brought from two ends of the country. It's a rather strange place absolutely rammed with trucks but EXTREMELY quiet the Saturday we visited. Absolutely loads of parking space but unfortunately the restaurant closed the very instant we arrived as we were both looking forward to getting stuck in to a long overdue meal. Nevertheless, the shop was open & all looked exceptional clean & tidy albeit exceptionally quiet. Beware of limited restaurants opening hours if you visit.

One of the best truck stops I have stayed at. Food was quality, restaurant standard. Toilets and showers are excellent condition and really clean. Plenty of parking, and fuel pumps.

Chef's don't wear any hats or hairnets of any kind.They very often re-adjust their hair and then handle food without washing hands . Non kitchen staff often in kitchen with non kitchen clothing doing their own meals . Gone down in my estimations now .

Very good place for trucks the bathrooms are super clean something we couldn't agree about the food voucher my cousin said there was no SNAP PARKING voucher.

HGV perspective. To have a realistic chance of a spot, arrive about Five. By Six, you are chancing things. Well-stocked shop. Superb shower & restroom facilities. I had breakfast - it was the best full English I've ever had. Quality ingredients, freshly cooked, well prepared & presented. At £8, I couldn't have asked for better.

Great showers in a nice, safe parking area, great staff, friendly and knowledgeable.

We arrived at the parking lot on Friday evening, but they didn't let us sit because they didn't have any free seats in the first row (although there were a lot of free seats in the back). I went out into the street, took a break, and on Saturday morning I went in again and found a seat in the front row. But to our surprise, they informed us that it is closed on Sunday, not even a toilet... The icing on the cake was when we went to the shower, which was free, and the lady at the reception told us that a driver does free shower, and the other has to pay, as we are crew on the truck! It's impossible, otherwise I would have given them under one star...

Great food. Great service and atmosphere. However the showers once great are now not so good and over time have become worse and worse until now they are the bare minimum water pressure and temperature. I suppose this is a cost cutting measure.

Generally truckstop is OK. Toilets and showers clean. Easy access from M6 a lot of spaces. Snap accepted including £4 food voucher, but it's not a lot because most dishes cost £7 or more. Anyway some food is horrible. I had this on pic. They called Special of the month (two cods- this small rings is cod🤣 even fried from frozen so taste is like sh....) This course cost £7 😮😬 its not worth this money. Tasteless.

Everything's all right. the surprise is that the restaurant is closed on Sunday, but I would forgive it, but the fact that access to the toilet and shower is unavailable is an exaggeration. I had to walk two kilometers to the toilet at MacDonald's. Failure.

I had fish and chips with a generous portion of baked beans. The batter was crispy and fish tasty. Friendly service from the ladies. Plenty of spaces. Definitely one to remember.
