Excellent rooms and so warm, considering it was bitter cold on our visit , would highly recommend Foundry 34 . Food is recommended as well, all in all a great experience peeps .

Great food, excelent service and good atmosphere. Large menu choice and good for vegetarians as well. Portion sizes were very generous. I highly recomend the beef with gravy, creamy leeks and veg hash. We really enjoyed our lunch and look forward to returning.

We came to Foundry 34 for their Jingle Bells Bottomless Brunch for our Christmas work do. The service was great and the food was delicious. We wondered if the portions were going to be small beforehand but we needn’t have worried! We were all stuffed! They were also very accommodating for our veggie and gluten free girls. We had plenty of drink included in the time we were there - someone was always checking if we needed some more drinks throughout the time we were there. Thanks everyone - we had a great time!

We chose Foundry 34 for our staff Christmas meal. We were a party of 15 and had the upstairs room. The service and food were excellent. We had a great get together and would definitely come back ! Thank you !

This is the fourth time staying here, great location with clean modern rooms. The food is very good with a good selection.

Great service, the staff looked after us well and made us feel very welcome. Really big portions, we had a starter and main each but couldn't manage a dessert. Good value for money.

We have been as a family for a few times for Sunday lunch and have never been disappointed. The food has always been tasty and hot, and the service quick and friendly. I would say this is the best value lunch, particularly if you have 2 courses, in town. Would not hesitate to return

Called hear by chance, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced, also the staff were very nice and friendly I would definitely go back to eat.

Our table was booked to coincide with the end of the Droving festival and torch lit procession, which we had just taken part in, so the restaurant was understandably very busy when we arrived. Despite this and us being slightly early, we were promptly seated and presented with our menus, which our host explained was supplemented by more dishes that could be viewed by scanning a QR code, so plenty to choose from. Our host also explained that there were only two chefs, so there may be some waiting for our food. As it was, there was no wait for food, or at least none that we noticed, and our starters and mains, which were from the hard copy menu rather than the digital supplement were all fresh, well presented and tasty. They were filling too, so no one went for dessert. All in our meal for four and three rounds of drinks came in just under £180, so it was excellent value for money. We will definitely come back to Foundry 34 the next time we visit our family, but in the meantime, we would recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in Penrith.

When we arrived we were informed there would be a bit of a wait due to a delay with the ordering system but only waited 15 minutes. The service was great and food delicious!

Excellent meal last night, we ordered a selection of starters to share and I must say, the cheese soufflé was delicious.

We went for our ‘work Christmas meal 2023’ - better late than never! What a lovely evening we had. We provided Christmas decorations and crackers (much to their surprise), but they got into the Christmas spirit immediately when we explained that we had missed our 2023 Christmas meal and why. They put on some Christmas music for us and a wonderful waitress put on her Christmas glasses. They made us jugs of Christmas mocktails to go with the gorgeous food. I had fish and chips and the fish and batter was beautiful. Then a delicious warm brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream to finish. They went above and beyond to make our experience really good and memorable. So, with the exceptional staff and food, I would definitely recommend going to Foundry 34.

Nice bed hot shower , clean rooms , lovely breakfast and staff excellent. Special note the aircon is brilliant and it was 25c outside.

Having planned our wedding meals for our special day we didn't know what to expect. Well what can we say, it was amazing. Service was excellent and the food we received was absolutely so outstanding. Cannot fault anything. Our small party had the best time. We would recommend Foundry 34 if your looking for a lovely place to stay and planning a little party. You wont be disappointed. They offer a wide range of foods to select. All were excellent and severed hot. The kitchen staff do an excellent job. The only compliant is the volume of the music played.

Booked for Saturday night, 4 adults 1 kid! Pleased we did. From start to finish everything was brilliant, staff interacted with our granddaughter, she definitely didn’t get bored. Service was spot on and the food was 5 star. Thank you, and we’ll definitely be back.

Wonderful staff, amazing food and shocked when the bill came at how little it all cost.

Staying at the Penrith Travel lodge and wanted a meal. Found the Foundry 54 name and rang the number where we booked our meal for 6.30pm.We arrived and were quickly shown to our table and drinks order taken by well presented staff. The place had only 5 people eating when we arrived I think because England were playing in the Euros Our starters arrived and wich was most tasty and with not too long of a wait our main coarse arrived. Again very tasty and more than enough to eat. By this time the resteraunt was filling up fast. All in all a lovely meal and there is no way you would leave feeling hungry A jewel for Penrith

We were staying in the Foundry 34 hotel which is a budget hotel in cost terms but far better than that in what you get for your money. We booked the in-house restaurant run by the friendly and hard working Anthony that evening (he also checked us in to the hotel although we had done most of that online in advance) but all staff were efficient, helpful, warm and friendly. We shared the halloumi fries (probably the best that we’d had) and the tender salt and pepper crispy squid to start followed by the sea bass which was excellent and plenty of it. We dine out a lot but this was far better than we expected - gastro-pub quality and atmosphere but less expensive.

Fab experience, we did an afternoon bottomless brunch, you got 4 drinks and a main course meal. All meals were lovely and tasty, cocktails and drinks were lovely. The waitress was very busy making drinks, serving food and taking order also booking people into rooms, but nothing was to much trouble and she was lovely and helpful, no complaints here

We went to the Foundry, having been before and knowing the quality. This time though there were 24 members of our family ranging in age from 8 months to 91 years. We mainly went for the superb fish and chips with various sauces. The food was awesome. The service was excellent and every one of all ages felt looked after. Would fully recommend the Foundry whether for a sit down meal or the best fish and chips in the country takeaway.

Went for a special lunch deal. 8 of us. Had to book in advance. Meal and unlimited drinks. Table service only. To be fair, the girls worked their butts off keeping everyone topped up. And the food was gorgeous. As ever. Very, very impressed. Well worth the money. Had a fantastic time! When we found out they were doing another bottomless lunch, (in June), we just had to go again. However one of our party is allergic to Lemon so I emailed this to them. I was contacted by phone and we had a good chat about it. And on the day they were super attentive to the situation. We all had yet another great experience. Keep 'em coming foundry! 👌👏👏👏

We had an evening meal here on a Sunday. The food was very good other than the flatbread was way too big and would have been fine at half the size. The waiting on staff were very friendly and attentive and the guy strumming his guitar kept us entertained. Definitely recommend

We visited here on our weekend away in the Lake District. We did reserve a table here as we were visiting on a Saturday night and as we walked in there was actually only one table left, which was our table. There is more seating upstairs though, but that also seemed busy. It was a lovely evening with good food and entertainment. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff that assisted us to our table and gave us a drinks menu and food menu. Both menus offered a wide range of choices, something for everyone from cocktails to mocktails on the drinks menu, and curry's to burgers and wraps on the food menu. We opted for a bottle of Sauvignon to drink which was very easy drinking. For starters we ordered the garlic, prawn and chorizo pil pil, this was very tasty but not the same as a traditional pil pil we’ve had before in Spain. It had less garlic and chilli, and peppers instead. For the mains we ordered the chicken katsu curry and the BBQ pulled pork and mozzarella wrap. The portions were large and great value for the money, they were also very tasty too. We also ordered a dessert despite being very full from the starter and main but we’re glad we did! We opted for the biscoff waffle and an Affogato. The Affogatto wasn’t actually on the menu but was served upon our request, which was great service! Both of the desserts were delicious. When we arrived at the restaurant we noticed that there was going to be a live singer that evening. By 9pm the restaurant had evolved from being a nice casual restaurant to a lovely bar where the singer had people up dancing and singing along, it was amazing entertainment! We booked for 7:30pm which was timed perfectly for the entertainment starting after we finished our meal, any later and we may have been eating as the lively entertainment started. We did also order a mojito which unfortunately was quite disappointing, being extremely syrupy with lots of sugar at the bottom, but other than that we have absolutely no reason to fault this place. The service, staff, food, value and entertainment were all brilliant and if we ever return to the Lake District, we will certainly visit here again.

Four of us were here for a birthday meal. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful as one of our party needed a gluten / dairy free menu and this was supplied without any fuss. The food was delicious - we had mains and deserts, absolutely faultless and the cocktails were amazing Thank you for a lovely night, we will definitely be back .

We booked a table for 7-15pm and arrived at 7pm they said they would let us in but could not take our order until 7-15 pm as they were taking orders from those people who were already there. Thought this was fair. However, we were then told that two big takeaway orders had come in and food might be a bit later. I was a bit put out by this as I had pre-booked the table. Fitter to this, they sat us on a table very near the door and there was a lot of coming and going through that door which allowed the cold weather in. I did move position on the table but it was still draughty and there was nowhere else to move to. Food eventually came about 50 mins later. The food was lovely - no complaints there! Just felt it was a shame that there was so much focus on the take aways when people had booked into the restaurant. I heard other people complain about the waiting time for food too.

We have visited Foundry 34 many times and they never fail to please. Service was friendly, polite and prompt. Food was excellent, my wife had Fish and Chips and I hade the pasta special, linguine in a creamy tomato and chorizo sauce topped with king prawns 🍤 both of our meals were beautiful. We will be back soon.

We were on holiday staying in Penrith town and had booked Four and Twenty restaurant. After being cancelled late in the day at Four and Twenty in Penrith, we met our friend here and boy are we glad we did! Friendly efficient service and great food. So some good did come out of the disappointment of the other restaurant cancelling! Will definitely go next time we're in Penrith.

Came across Foundry 34 on our last night in the Lakes. Having spent the day walking we wanted some proper food and we weren't disappointed! Both the main meal and dessert were spot on and the service was excellent.

A fabulous meal with excellent food wich is great value for money in a pleasant atmosphere and with excellent attentive staff. We would Highly recommend. Also have live music which we didn't stay for but is a nice option for a night out.

Great find on our first night in Penrith. Gluten free options are specified in the menu. My husband loved his gluten free fish & chips as well as brownies with ice cream.

Passing on way home and dropped in and glad we did. Great restaurant with an amazing chef and the food was well presented and tasted with lots of flavours. The staff was very professional and spot on in attracting your eye to the specials that we had with dessert. I highly recommend a visit and will definitely try to get back some time. We wrnt on a Sunday evening, only guests! Not clear how to get into the resting, we went to tbe back and through hotel rooms. Staff service good. Roast dinner large portion, could have being a bit hotter.Disappointed with Yorkshire pudding was a bit dry, nice portion of beef. Nice cocktail !

Great place, lovely and clean and friendly staff, food is excellent! The breakfast is massive and will certainly set you up for the day! Comfy bed, decent shower and in a great location in the town! I everything is just a short walk away so yeah! Great spot

We visited between Christmas and New Year. The food, atmosphere and services were all excellent. We had a selection of starters and mains, followed by a Desertini which was an excellent spin on Espresso Martini’s with a shot of baileys and a brownie….excellent!

The food was excellent, ambience was light and fun, service prompt and attentive. I had fried breaded haloumi followed by sea bass. Both beautifully presented and delicious. (Only constructive comment I can make is that the haloumi portion didn’t need to be so big). My friend had a steak which he said was cooked as requested and very good.

The food was exceptional and the service was terrific. It was a great way to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I can’t recommend this place more highly!
