I was whisked in by my husband as he fancied a roast lunch.
The small serving of meat was good but the rest of the dish was awful; the potatoes were hard and tasted odd, the stuffing ball was from a packet, inedible, the green beans were dried out, inedible, the carrots overcooked and the Yorkshire pudding was impossible to cut with the ridiculous wooden knife and fork! The meal was served in a cardboard box, smothered with glutinous gravy very disappointing and expensive for what it was.
After vowing never to go to M&S cafe (Gemini) again, I visited the one in Chester last week. What a difference- able to pick up/order what I wanted via a person and enjoy on a clean/empty table. . I made a point of speaking to the Manager and advised her of such a pleasant experience. If she has any influence over the changes at the larger stores with the unhygienic touch control system( no facility to clean the screens) which leaves customers with either cold food or cold drink, whilst waiting for the other half of an order to arrive, I sincerely hope that Management listen. If the number of adverse reviews isn’t enough to make them reconsider, I assume they aren’t interested. Will spend our money at alternative venues.
We regularly stop here for lunch when in town and my kids love it! Great sandwich options and lovely cakes! The service is always fast and the food always good. We are regulars here
Exploring around this part of the city my twin brother and I decided to drop by this Starbucks outlet, been here before on many occasions over the years, always had a positive experience and so it proved on our latest visit to here.
A decent enough Starbucks, interior is superb, typical Starbucks decor and furnishings, glass fronted serving counters showcase the goodies on offer and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this cafe, its just a really good cafe to unwind in.
We ordered a cappuccino coffee each, these were served steaming hot, we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our coffee's.
A big fan of the coffee served in Starbucks, its consistant in all their outlets and their cappuccino is a particular favourite of mine .
We both really enjoyed our coffee's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to this particular Starbucks we had a great time.
This Starbucks is easy to locate along Northgate Street, a street and area teeming with pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Saturday, 7.30am till 7pm.
Sunday, 8.30am till 6pm.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area.
Visited Chesters for lunch. The staff were all pleasant, After reading through the menu decided on fish and chips [£10.95] and coke. I didn't order the small portion as I was hungry. When it was brought to the table I've never seen such a small piece of fish and queried the portion size as I thought they had brought me the small one. But they hadn't. I can only assume the small size would have been half a fish finger. On paying I noticed they were charging £2.30 for the coke. It had said on the menu £1.95. When I queried the price I was told the £1.95 was for coke on tap and I'd had a can. RIP OFF PLACE [Or plaice}. AVOID
36/38 Frodsham St, Cheshire, Chester, CH1 3JL, United Kingdom, England
I usually like the meat and potato pasties from here but today awful there was no filling in either of the 2 I brought there was however dried put filling all down the sides and the pastry was soggy from it
What a fabulous venue; staff were so much fun; warm, friendly and vibrant. Molly and Calvin were so accommodating in assisting with drink selections and just a really lively exciting venue.
Food was fine but the can from the meal deal was missing. Tried to call to rectify but the phone is dead and it would seem there is no other way to contact them.
Very poor customer service
After enjoying visiting lots of pubs on our first day of two in Chester my twin brother and I called it a night after last orders in The Square Bottle Pub, we were feeling peckish so dropped by this Domino's Pizza outlet next door to the pub for a pizza each to bring back to our hotel ,the fast food restaurant itself is superb, its only small ,neat and tidy and staff here are lovely, we ordered a margherita pizza each ,prepared more or less in front of us ,service was quick, we brought our pizza's back to our hotel and they were totally delicious, so tasty, very filling, the perfect end to a perfect day out in this historic Roman walled city.
This Domino's Pizza is easy to locate along Foregate Street .
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday, 11am till 5am.
A great Domino's, well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning a trip to Chester.
Had to walk out because we stood there for at least 5 minuets in an empty restaurant and staff didn’t bother to take our order. The place is messy and grim. Needs shutting down.
