Drivers are always so polite. The food always tastes good BUT our last order took over 2 hours to get to us. The order before that was sent to the wrong house and two blokes kindly delivered it to us (although half the order was missing) and the rest turned up an hour later, and today, were an hour in and the tracker says its not even in the oven yet. I'm gutted, because when it does arrive, it's great but it takes hours each time!!!

I come into papa john fairly regular rang me to say they have no onion for the philly cheese stake papadias I said that's fine, and they put mushroom on it really what a joke and it wasn't a papadias I know it was euros night but you working is not your customers fault

Pizzas are good. As long as they keep the price to £10 for a large ill keep coming back

This was the best Papa John’s I’ve had in YEARS! The crust was lovely and soft and not over baked, the veggies were plentiful and it had the perfect amount of sauce considering I order without cheese and they are usually dry !

Arrived on time, was hot, decent amount of toppings and the order was correct. Tasted like pizza. Sides are a rip off though but they are from anywhere.

Awful customer service. They didn't allow me to order a pizza on the phone and asked me to do online on the app. I explained that my smartphone is having issues but they still refused to take my order. Then someone shouted aggressively tell him he needs to pay by card over the phone which I agreed which turns out that it was simply a tactic to get me to not order. I agreed to pay over the phone and then the lady refused due to orders shouted at her. The old management were fantastic. However this is ran by a bunch of amateur clowns. The multiple 1 stars are not surprising.

Absolutely disgusting pizza full of gristle and fatty bacon. Not a bbq chicken pizza at all. Squirt of sauce on top. Feel sick after eating a slice. Threw rest in the bin.

I can see some bad reviews saying the food is always late? This is because when i went to pick up an order for one of these delievry companies i work for, I waited 10 minutes until somebody came and spoke to me whilst I was waiting. Bare in mind there was no customers. There was 2 guys outside just chatting away, me thinking they were just random people but after 10 minutes 1 of them comes in and then asks me what I needed. Avoid this place slow service and just people right outside the shop, anybody else would feel intimidated walking in-between them to go inside the shop

Papa Johns have lost their way! Papa John used to be our go to place for Pizza, that is until they became incapable of fulfilling orders. Around 12 months ago we ordered a Vegan breakfast Pizza only to be told on collection that they didn’t have the correct base sauce so they used basic tomato; it tasted horrible. This along with other errors and poor service made us decide not to this branch again. Last weekend we decided to give them another go, only to order the vegan breakfast pizza again and be told they no longer do it, despite it being available to order online. Allegedly the area manager has been made aware of this item still being available to order online without actually being available, but choose not to have this amended. No wonder the stores service has dropped, it’s not a great example to your staff, and puts them in the awkward position of having to explain why they can’t fulfil an order. We ended up ordering from Dominoes, great service and they have never failed to complete an order. The sad thing is it wouldn’t take much to fix these issues if they only they tried.

Lack of available sizes. The dough is apparently made fresh, but is also apparently delivered ‘in the middle of the night’ so some sizes weren’t available (at 9pm). Not as good as I remember, price wasn’t bad. Quality was average.

Recently they have gotten worse and worse - late deliveries and cold pizzas. Most recently my order was placed and 45 min later a call to say due to delivery driver issues it will be another 1:30h wait... either I get a refund or I go pick up the order. Being as late as it was in the evening I had no choice but go pick up the order. Terrible service. Awful. I will never use this branch again. Such a shame, they used to be really good... honestly if I could leave Zero stars, I would. I’ve deleted their app and blocked their website, I suggest you all do the same.

Terrible. I ordered a pizza at 6:30pm. It didn’t arrive for another THREE HOURS and no reason was given or discount/refund offered. My last experience ordering wasn’t great either but I thought I’d give them another go. BIG MISTAKE. I’ll stick to Dominos thanks…

This place is shocking. We’ve waited over 2 hours for a pizza on a Monday. No one answers the phone and I can’t find out where my food is. Just wish I had read some of the comments on here first. If you can’t do the basics of your business then close your business. Don’t continue to fleece people of money when you have no decency to provide the service they’re paying for.

Do not order from here. I’m writing this as I’m waiting for an order I made at 22:15, it’s now midnight and not delivered. I called up the place twice after the 60 and 90 minute mark, they assured me it was on the way. I specifically asked them to have the driver ring me when outside to make sure. No calls, and they’ve now marked my order down as “delivered” when it I’ve not heard a thing. They’re also not answering the phone now, so I’ve basically been robbed of £20 after making my order 2 hours ago. Terrible service.

Why start charging for delivery and still be awful at delivering

Always been fantastic, I’ve been ordering off them for over 3 years, brilliant staff and I have no idea what the lower star reviews are talking about. Order is always spot on and If you call them, they’ll sort out any changes you want without trouble. Good outlet all round. 10/10

Good food, papa johns usually give good deals in collection menu. Parking is little tricky near the store.

Don’t normally rant but had to Absolutely horrible worst pizza side and dessert! Ordered a large amount of food and everything was cold and undercooked. Side of potatoes was not cooked at all! Garlic bread smelt like it had gone off along with sauce. Pizza raw dough with a tiny bit of cheese no sauce. Dough balls had tiny bit of sauce but looked and tasted off. Cinnamon rolls smelt off no cinnamon or icing on top. Will not be ordering again !

Pizza took over an hour to arrive.. Pizza was cold on arrival and soggy... Used to be a good pizza place but has gone down hill.

I gave it a negative rating about a month ago, I wanted to give myself a chance today. and finally I found what I wanted the staff is new and you can hear and see British staff, young guys with a great desire to work, taste of the pizza very good congratulations guys keep it up, now I recommend this place to you

Collected the order, I got home and realised it was completely wrong. Obviously someone els’ order, I went back had my order re made and they missed all the extra items I paid for on both pizza’s so was over charged around £13 and wouldn’t refund me the difference. Will never order from here again.

Worst customer service I have had from a branch of pizza chain! Let me start by saying a like papa johns but this branch was poor... Ordered 2 pizzas at 8pm on Friday 18th June before going out with friends. The pizza was set to “delivered” at approx. 8:30pm but no pizza arrived. We called them and Mike answered the phone and said they were very busy and it was on its way. We were still waiting by 9pm so gave them a call again but they didn’t answer. Used a different phone and got through at 9:10pm and mike said the pizza was ready but they didn’t have enough drivers but it would be out soon. By 9:34 and several more calls we found out the pizza hadn’t been made, drivers weren’t a problem but Mike couldn’t explain why it was so late. We asked for a refund after a heated conversation to which Mike said it would be processed in 3-5 working days. 6 working days later now and no refund for a pizza that was not delivered. Called the branch again to find out no refund has been put through and will be another 3-5 working days while they check with management…. DO NOT USE CHESTER BRANCH!

This place can be amazing but the service has gotten so poor - orders taking an hour and a half but being marked as delivered on the tracker so you don’t receive an automatic voucher because your order took too long to arrive. Oh and get your oven on too because there’s a good chance it’ll arrive mildly room temperature.

Pizza ordered at 8pm, apparently it was delivered at 8:30pm. We called the store but it just rang out. When we eventually got in contact apparently the order was still on the side waiting to be delivered at 10pm. Cancelled the order and went for a chinese instead.

Ordered a collection for the wrong time so they made it earlier for us- we only had to wait 15 minutes. Lovely service and great quality for price 😁

Terrible service yet again from this store. Still waiting an hour and 15 mins after placing the order. Same excuse “only one driver” was told it was on its way as it had left 15 mins ago. 25 mins after bing told that, still waiting.

First time I've tried Pappa Johns pizza. It was delivered on time, pizza was lovely and fresh & the sides were great. Would recommend trying the cauliflower wings :-)

Got my pizza and the crust of the pizza was burnt and it was so hard. I called up the store and they told me I have to bring the pizza back to the store myself even though is late already. I asked them if they can send a driver as it was late they refused. Be careful when you order there most especially at night because you don't want to return your order walking to the store in the middle of the night if there is something wrong with the food

Ordered take out at 6.30pm was told would be delivered at 7.15, at 8 it hadn't arrived so I tried to ring for about 45 min they don't answer the phone! My pizza turned up at 9.15pm stone cold so I sent it back i want a refund & i shall not be ordering from them again!

I rang up and asked if they deliver. They said yes. So i said can i have a liver and pineapple pizza please. The bloke said we dont do liver on a pizza. I said but you said you deliver.

We mixed up our order, they served us promptly and gave us a better deal in the end, top service can't fault them one bit

Overall our experience wasn’t very good due to the fact that the staff forgot part of our order so we had to turn back to then get charged for what they forgot. If that’s wasn’t bad enough we then go on to find a hair in the pizza. The pizza was already distasteful we go back to complain to only get £10 back in conclusion I would not recommend going it’s a complete waste of money and time.

Great service and fantastic pizza! Ryan in the store is lovely and took my order over the phone as the website wouldn’t deliver to me but the store will!

Crust is crispy and delicious and their Greek was beautifully fresh. I ordered 11.50am, lunch break started at 12pm, walk was 10 minutes and the pizza was waiting when I got there. Staff member at the counter was friendly and efficient. Thank you!

Driver is incredibly unfriendly and rude. There are too many other good choices in Chester to give business to one whose employees think it is ok to treat their customers in this way.

My favourite takeaway place! The staff will give you the inside on deals, and they'll make sure you get the best deal for your money. Food is always made perfect!

Great pizzas watch while they make Friendly staff reasonably priced ..delivered if needed ... ideal for students .. all round great fast food .. many toppings to choose from well worth a try .. delicious and piping hot and if delivered very fast and good service..

Terrible attitude/service - used PPJ lots of times before and was lovely with yummy food but this particular branch have a disgraceful attitude. Go elsewhere!

Only ordered here twice, attempted one other time but they had run out of cheese... Overpriced for mediocre pizza, can't get an order right and the wait time is always longer than the one provided. When we did eventually eat, the was a lovely hair to greet us within the pizza base. Wouldn't risk it, just get Domino's.

Ordered 2 pizzas, took over an 40 to cook with no queue in front of us in the branch (perhaps they had phone orders???). Staff were very unprofessional with attitude and unhygienic mannerisms. Shame because we love Papa John's pizzas.

I’ve seen many bad comments here as I never wanted to eat from here, but I actually got a pizza today and it was actually really good and it wasn’t expensive at all, plus they do have many offers and the time wasn’t bad , ive been waiting 35-40 mins , that I find it okey, many complains but is actually a pretty good pizza, and for the one that are expecting so much just a point : you are not in a restaurant in Rome. I find it a nice place to eat.

Awful place pizza's are very hit and miss. The quality promise means nothing here as they don't answer the phones to hear any complaints and no point contacting the head office as they say contact the store! I have had nice pizza's in the past but due to poor customer service and quality of the last couple of orders I'd recommend you look elsewhere for pizza.

Plus points are garlic dip was gorgeous, pizza dough lovely, pizza was too fennelly so won't rush back or go out of my way.

Only half of order delivered, followed by a delivery of a congealed pizza with sparse toppings and cheese didn't even cover 3/4 of pizza!

Just awful. Ordered corn on the cob all burnt inedible Ordered Pepsi Max got the wrong type (full fat) ( they did rectify this) also pizza was not memorable just average.. Cheese sticks not nice. Offered opportunity by sending the corn back to discuss they preferred I do this.

The cons: Tasteless, limp and sparsely topped pizza. I've had significantly nicer from local kebab shop places for half the price. Very disappointed given the hype and price point. The pros: Ordered for delivery online and the website is easy to navigate and use. They delivery was also quick for a Saturday evening - about half an hour. However unfortunately, given the dreadful pizza, I wouldn't use again.

Online order was brilliant with many great discount options and lots of choices. The food arrived hot and within a very decent time frame. Can sometimes be slow when ordering in-store late at night. I highly recommend the giant cookie for dessert!!

so we ordered a pizza for thin crust and 2 sides and drink as we then find out that its actually a original so we ask to if we could get the same pizza but thin as we don't like deep pan they then told us no even tho we haven't had touched the pizza and didn't follow there guarantee ''love your pizza or we'll deliver you another for one, absolutely free'' we will never be ordering again!

Always great customer service. Pizzas are very tastey! The staff are atrentive and a credit to the company (Chester store). Always go to Papa Johns - much preferred to other pizza places as they have great offers and their customers service is ace.

Pros: Fast delivery Great pizza (The Works) Cons: I ordered 1 pizza and 2x hot wings. I received 1 hot wings with sauce and one without. Mind you, the correct order with sauce was actually disgusting. There is an ad popping out on the website to redeem voucher that looks like a scam. It asks you to register on external website and once you do, it charges you for the services. Summary: I do recommend for the pizza. Chicken could be better, def without the sauce but marinated and then baked so it gets crispy skin.

Not what I thought. I wanted a dominos like pizza so tried here. Didn't like. Asked for BBQ chicken, it is chicken scans tomato will a very small amount of bbq source. Plus it was very cold in the shop. So the pizza went cold while I was waiting to be given my pizza.

AVOID if you need your food on time. Lovely pizzas but an absolute disgrace in terms of organisation. I ordered five pizzas to be delivered in an hour, to a location five minutes away. Half an hour after they were supposed to be delivered (and after three unanswered phone calls), I went round on foot and the pizzas had not even been prepared. I waited for another fifteen minutes for them to cook and took them myself. I understand that these types of places can get very busy quickly, but if the person I'd given my order to had explained that there would be additional waiting time then the whole affair would not have been so disappointing. Surely the computer system should support this? Waiting in the shop I saw: 1. Another customer who had been waiting for an hour for his order. 2. Tension and backbiting between the staff. 3. There was a screen that showed the orders that needed to be completed, there didn't seem to be any sense or order to how the pizzas were being prepared or sent out. 4. The phone rang constantly and one of the staff said to another that they were purposefully ignoring it. I was apologised to and given a free bottle of pepsi to compensate, but the real rub was that no-one took accountability for how poorly the store was organised. I didn't see anyone who looked like they were in charge. One of the staff said, 'I'm sorry, I just work here.' I honestly don't understand who he was trying to blame. It looked to me like inadequate management and a total lack of support for the everyday-staff who worked very hard.

I always go to Papa Johns when I want a take away, the pizza tastes really good, and 50% off with a student card on everything but Ben & Jerry's

We used a 50% off voucher on the website which then wouldn't deliver to our address. We called the store and they said that they do deliver to our address but they would not honor the voucher because it was a web only deal. I can appreciate it was not the staffs fault but it was annoying that Popa Johns as a cooperation would not honor this. Sadly I am still not able to order online and haven't yet even eaten here.
