Greetings, fellow food enthusiasts! I'm thrilled to share my recent culinary escapade to the renowned Wolfmann's Eating House on Sunderland Road in South Shields. After reading so many rave reviews, I couldn't resist a visit, and boy, was it worth the hype! As we stepped into the cozy restaurant, we were instantly charmed by its laid-back ambiance and the groovy tunes playing in the background. The intimate setting, with only six tables, makes booking in advance a must! We noticed a few couples walk in, hoping for a table, but they ended up grabbing seats at the bar. So, word to the wise: book ahead to avoid disappointment! On a chilly evening, the warmth of the restaurant felt like a loving embrace. And although they don't have an alcohol license, the 'bring your own booze' policy is a fun touch. We chose to keep it sober this time, in preparation for the upcoming holiday festivities. Wolfmann's menu, a delightful selection of Asian-inspired dishes, changes weekly, with some specials featured on a board above the bar. You can always sneak a peek at previous menus on their Facebook page to get a taste of what to expect. The friendly staff welcomed us with open arms and promptly took our drink orders while we ogled the mouthwatering menu options. After much debate (and the desire to order everything), I settled on the salt and pepper Tofu with a side of spring rolls. My better half couldn't resist the roast belly pork, accompanied by a generous serving of salt and chilli fries. To our delight, the service was impressively swift, and our food arrived in just 20 minutes! The Tofu was a symphony of flavors and textures, with tender pieces perfectly seasoned and paired with a vibrant mix of fresh greens. The spring rolls were crispy, succulent, and packed with a punch, thanks to the spicy dipping sauce. My wife's roast belly pork was a showstopper, boasting crispy crackling atop melt-in-your-mouth pork, served on a bed of tangy pickled cabbage. The salt and chilli fries were the perfect sidekick, adding a spicy kick and satisfying crunch. In conclusion, our experience at Wolfmann's Eating House was nothing short of spectacular. The combination of a relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff, and, most importantly, divine Asian-inspired dishes make this spot a must-visit in South Shields. Very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere very inviting. Only popped by for a drink but would definitely visit again for food as it looked amazing

I was recommended this restaurant by a family member who lives in the area and by did they select the right place for us. The food was absolutely beautiful and the service really top drawer. I would highly recommended this to anyone wanting authentic Indian cuisine set in a gorgeous building with magnificent decor. We will be returning again very soon soon for sure.

Used this place for years and years! But honestly the last couple of times have been disappointing, none more so than tonight's unfortunately that's it for us we wouldn't return Brian is lovely a proper treasure but whoever is in the kitchen is really letting the place down the noodles and rice were so stodgy held the Shape of the cartons, the need in the curry looked like it had been cooked on a light bulb really grey, and the chips were stale. The famous taste is nomore sadly.

First time here with my family tonight. Delicious fresh food and very good value for. Money. Two lovely waiters serving us. Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend!

Absolutely the best breakfast sandwich in Shields. Vegan bacon , fried egg and mushrooms. I'm neither vegan nor vegetarian but WOW!!! Delicious. Thank you!

Great club, very friendly good atmosphere

food is always great from here, but lately its been hard to get an order as although shop is open it comes up not taking deliveries?... this has been happening often I only live 5mins/10 away so it can't possibly be that, I have my reward to collect but haven't been able to due to this, hopefully things will get better from nxt week fingers crossed.

I am tempted not to publish this because the meal was so good and the waiting staff so supportive. Real value for money. Great Food and a reasonable price. A great little treat and it supports the kids. What is not to love. A brilliant meal one of the best I have had with very attentive staff. Brilliant. Well done.

Romano's is a quaint, Italian-family style restaurant, oozing charm and authenticity. The pasta options are delightful and the starters delicious! I had a Pear Salad and Linguine genovese. The salad was sweet, nutty and a great complement to the main. The pasta was fresh, flavoursome and filling. A glass of red brought it all together.

Visited in 2023 and 2025 and always been great food and service

Love popping here when I can good choice of gluten free items to eat. And cake to eat in or take away. I can def recommend the caramel apple Betty. 😋

I had a fantastic experience at the Wheatsheaf Inn in Boldon! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what truly made the visit special was the blonde barmaid who was working that day. She was incredibly helpful and went out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable from the moment we walked in. Her friendly and caring attitude made us feel right at home, and we ended up staying longer than we had originally planned because of how nice the service was. It’s not often you come across staff who genuinely care about making your visit enjoyable, but she certainly did. I highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a great time with top-notch service!
