Great food and warm, knowledgeable service. Ask for recommendations and you won’t be disappointed, my go to India restaurant on the wonderful Ocean Rd. Oh and Double Maxim!!

Shashlick just gets better and even more onions this time. By far the best shashlick on ocean road and rogan josh was up there as one of the best I ever had. Would love for cafe India to do a balti naan aswell as that’s my favourite and would go perfect with the shashlick.I highly recommend cafe India

Waited 2 hours for this order to arrive when I was given a maximum of 1 hour 20 minutes and the food was then cold. Should not have to reheat food after it has been delivered!

Food was very nice. Only issue was with collection. When I arrived to collect they could not find my order. Had to then wait over 20 minutes for it.

We got a delivery from just eat. Which was on time, for once. We ordered a lamb rogan Josh, the lamb was near frozen and there was only 4 bits in the whole tasteless curry. We also ordered a chicken garlic chilli curry, again, tasteless and cold. The onion bhaji was not onion, not sure exactly what it was but it wasn’t onion, and again, stone cold. There was 40% off just eat so maybe they served us crap for that but there was no way they’d have gotten away with serving that crap in the restaurant. Every part of it went in the bin! Reported it to just eat and got nothing back!

We like to think we leave honest reviews and after a less than perfect meal pre Christmas we were looking forward to a lovely meal. And yes, it was lovely. Cafe India is in the top three of Indian restaurants for us, which is no mean feat as the choice in our town is extensive. I opted for the Bhuna as I’d had that before and husband had chicken tikka Zeera. Both meals were excellent as was sundries and delivery. Using an eats app offer the value for money was great.

App indicated food was delivered at 7.30pm, when it wasn't, used the app for feedback to try and see where our food was, the app was then revised to indicate an apology from the restaurant and rescheduled to 7.10pm, but arrived at 7pm. Excellent food

2 and 1/2 hours after we ordered! The food is beautiful but I am disappointed that as a regular customer that this was the 2nd time we have had a late delivery.

Tremendous food the best shashlick on ocean road by far and I have tried all eleven Restraunts on ocean road. Naan breads always tasty and the chicken tikka starter is always top notch and I love the crisp onions with it Highly recommend cafe India

Food was really poor, madras and masalla tasting exactly the same watery and not very nice, nan bread was just doughy and undercooked, won’t be back

Had an amazing time at cafe India. Family of 20 and service was fantastic. Food was absolutely beautiful and all meals cooked to perfection and very efficient. We had the best experience and we will all definitely be back. Highly recommended wether a small or large party.

It’s difficult sometimes to choose from restaurant / takeaway menus how spicy or not a meal may be despite the guidance they give. It’s down to your own personal taste i suppose. Today we decided on the less spicy side with Bhuna and Rogan Josh main meals. My Bhuna was lovely but husband was disappointed with his rogan Josh, he said it was ok but something was missing to give it top marks. The containers were full to the brim and the mushroom pilau was nice. Loads of chips, but found them quite dry and tough. We really like Cafe India but will make different choices next time.

Based on previous reviews, we had to give this place a go and so pleased we did. All 3 of us went for the starter + main meal deal. Highlight for me was the café tuk tuk starter (available as a main) and made slightly less hot to suit my taste - probably one of the nicest things I've eaten. Main I went for chicken dhansak, as I always choose this to compare with other restaurants/takeaways. This was very nice, plenty of chunky chicken and pineapple accompanied with mushroom pilau. My mates all enjoy their dishes too (everyone's different). P.S. Nice cold Cobra aswell. Definitely be back, as food was awesome and very reasonably priced. Very friendly staff too. Top marks from us all.

Looks lovely & staff professionally dressed with good customer service. Mine & my friends order came out quickly only to experience my order of 3 starters- onion bhaji uncooked soft batter mixture inside without yoghurt dip you formally get, aloo chatt basically it was chips with sauce poured on cold and didnt taste great, saag paneer - consisted of more sauce than saag ...spinach, paneer no taste however it is a bland cheese. All starters worst i have certainly not authenic, not flavour some indian food. I complained re O bhaji was taken off bill & i was offered something else which irefused. My friends gatlic naan, didnt taste of garlic. Wouldn't go back very dissapointing

Ordered for 6pm food was 30 minutes late and cold. This was unusual from our favourite restaurant never had an issue before. Will I order again.... Dam right the food is amazing.

Status changed to delivered at 22:00, update requested at 22:18 as not arrived, update issued stating delivery will be around 22:45, arrived 22:35. Food quality was great but spoilt by no updates being given until I asked for one.

Ordered to collect as we do nearly every Saturday always a really polite lad takes order unfortunately ordered poppadoms and didn't receive them but curry was really nice

My husband spotted the ‘new’ chicken Handi meal on the menu and decided to give it a go. It was tasty and not too spicy. Only criticism was the sauce was a bit runny as he’s used to a thicker sauce. I went for my chicken tikka main meal. Mushroom pilau rice and large, well filled naan were the sundries. Deliver was really quick and a money off deal from a well know delivery firm made the meal an excellent choice.

It is an amazing little place we were greeted at the door. Then we were escorted to our booth where we received poppadoms and pickles to eat while we chose our meal. I chose a chicken dansak and pilau rice with garlic Nan bread. All I can say is that it left me wanting more. The food was so rich in flavour and texture. the chicken tender and succulent, I savoured every bite. I can highly recommend this diamond of a restaurant, If you want attention to detail, amazing service and food. Then book yourself a table!

Had a take away on Thursday evening 26th September, must be one of the worst ones I’ve ever had, luckily I’m not local but visit the area for short breaks but won’t visit this restaurant again

Onion bhaji the best ever. Food piping hot. Enjoyed beef balti. Went back again and ordered chicken tikka masala and steamed rice. Delicious. 3rd visit staff curry- lamb on bone (shank, rib, chop) in a delicious curry sauce in a hotpot. Ace

It had been a while since we’d had a curry as we’d been away. The delivery was really quick and piping hot. Naan was big and tasty, rice and chunky chips completed the sundries. Mains were chicken tikka garlic and tikka chicken chilli. Both were great.

Food was tremendous and earlier than anticipated! Will definitely be ordering again.

Never got the food. Wrong restaurant by 150 miles.

Used this place a bit recently. Quite good! But what I paid under 11 quid for a month ago is now £14.90 for a takeaway. I said that's too expensive. He said the Chicken bhuna curry was 9 quid and he'd applied 20% discount! Won't be calling again.

Normally eat Bhuna from every Indian restaurant and have used cafe India before, this was ridiculously hot! I've had madras not as hot as this, not one of the 3 adults in could eat it! Evening meal ruined, Thanks

Meal/ delivery booked for 18.30 pm as this is when family were due home, the meal was delivered 45 mins early as restaurant confirmed that the new staff member did not look at the under request properly. Not good at all as food had to be reheated,Inc naan and rice

Was spot on tbh would order again, 5 bits of chicken in a dish is a bit stinge but that’s about the only this bad I can say. The tikka masala is lovely

Loved this restaurant, it was cosy with a lovely atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food was lovely, tandoori sharing platter was great and larger than expected, mains were massaala and the staff curry which my husband really enjoyed along with veg pilau ,mixed pilau and garlic nans. Probably the best Indian meal we've ever had and at a reasonable price. We will definitely be back soon.

I eat in the restaurant a lot but the takeaway is the same excellent quality. I had a friend over and she said it’s the best Indian meal she’s ever eaten she still raved about it this morning and insisted on taking leftovers home it really was that good couldn’t fault anything

I love this place and so do my friends who visit from down South. Staff are amazing, kind, welcoming, attentive without being too much they get it just right..the food..wow just wow, authentic fresh and sooo tasty, in fact I’m on my way there now to celebrate a 60th Birthday 🎁 xx

Meal was delivered 35 minutes late. Food was cold on arrival. Restaurant declined opportunity to refund part of the cost. Will not use again and will encourage others not to, as well.

Top quality food. Chicken pakora came crispy and well seasoned, tandoori king prawns tasted really fresh and the lamb in the curry was tender and cooked to perfection.

Great food, great service, this is now my favourite curry house in Ocean Road.

I ordered a Lamb Kurma. When I served it up instantly I knew the smell wasn't right, and it tasted like sour milk. The chips for some reason had onions in and the keema naan was tasteless with little to no meat. We called to complain and were given the excuse the lamb would change the flavour of the sauce, however this has been ordered in the past and it was worlds apart from what I received tonight. I would expect, at the very least a refund so I can avoid the restaurant in future.

One of the curry cartons was not correctly sealed so lost one third of the curry in the delivery bag every thing else in the bag was therefore contaminated however must say both curries where very enjoyable and would order again hopefully next time we actually get full curries in sealed containers
