We were looking after a friend's dog. and just happened to walk past this place. With seating outside, we asked whether it would be ok to have a meal sat there. Well not only did we get the best fish and chips that we've ever had in our lives (and we're had a fair few!), but we got served with proper cutlery and a serviette, and condiments in containers that you would expect to find in a good restaurant. The food was cooked fresh, and the portions were huge! The fish was lovely and thick, the chips absolutely perfect, and the curry sauce was very different to the sludge that we've encountered in recent fish and chip experiences... There was a little wait for the food, but completely understandable, given that it was cooked to order. But the service was second to none, and we even got a check back during the meal! Absolutely outstanding, and we will most definitely return. Well done, everyone, you deserve to be so highly rated!

Estábamos cuidando al perro de un amigo y pasamos por este lugar. Con asientos afuera, preguntamos si estaría bien tener una comida sentada allí. Bueno, no sólo obtuvimos el mejor pescado con papas fritas que hemos tenido en nuestra vida (¡y hemos tenido unas cuantas!), sino que nos sirvieron con cubiertos adecuados y una servilleta, y condimentos en recipientes que uno esperaría encontrar en un buen restaurante. La comida estaba cocinada fresca, y las porciones eran enormes! El pescado era precioso y espeso, las patatas fritas absolutamente perfectas, y la salsa de curry era muy diferente al lodo que hemos encontrado en las experiencias recientes de pescado y patatas fritas ... Hubo una pequeña espera para la comida, pero completamente comprensible, dado que se cocinó por encargo. Pero el servicio era insuperable, e incluso recibimos un cheque de vuelta durante la comida! Absolutamente excepcional, y sin duda volveremos. ¡Bien hecho, todo el mundo, merecen ser altamente calificados!

Just beautiful as always. This fish bar is fantastic the best fish finger sandwich crispy on the outside soft and flaky within tucked inside pillowy bread.

Absolutely delicious! Hands down one of the best fish and chip shops I've ever been to. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the chips were golden, fluffy, and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and quick with service. Portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. Will definitely be coming back—highly recommend if you're craving classic, quality fish and chips!

Absolutamente delicioso! Abre una de las mejores tiendas de pescado y patatas fritas en las que he estado. El pescado estaba perfectamente crujiente por fuera y tierno por dentro, y las papas fritas estaban doradas, esponjosas y llenas de sabor. Todo sabía fresco y estaba cocinado a la perfección. El personal era amable, acogedor y rápido con el servicio. Las porciones eran generosas, y los precios eran muy razonables para la calidad. Definitivamente volveremos — ¡muy recomendable si estás ansioso por pescado con papas fritas clásico y de calidad!

Absolutamente me encanta Daniela Fish Bar! El pescado con papas fritas es nada menos que hermoso - masa dorada y crujiente y pescado perfectamente cocinado que simplemente se derrite en su boca. Pero la verdadera estrella para mí es el bocadillo de dedos de pescado, ¡está en otro nivel! Generoso, fresco y lleno de sabor. Además de la deliciosa comida, la tienda siempre está impecablemente limpia, se puede decir cuánto orgullo se enorgullecen de lo que hacen. Recomiendo Daniela’s a todos mis amigos y familiares – una vez que hayas estado, ¡seguirás volviendo!

La primera vez que visité anoche como nos recomendaron los amigos, condujimos 40 minutos y bien valió la pena el viaje, la tienda es absolutamente impecable y la comida es definitivamente la mejor alrededor, porciones de muy buen tamaño fui grande, pero definitivamente no necesité, ya que no pude terminar todo fue absolutamente precioso 100 por ciento volveré y le dirá a la familia y amigos que lo intenten X

Solía ser un cliente habitual, luego me encontraba en un lugar mejor cerca de casa. Decidí regresar esta noche, pero realmente desearía no haberlo hecho. Mi pedido fue de dos bacalaos regulares y una patata frita. El primer bacalao fue bueno, lo que esperaba. El segundo bacalao fue absolutamente horrible. La masa se quemó, afectando la apariencia general, pero lo más importante el sabor. Ambos pescados se cocinaron al mismo tiempo. No voy a volver y ahora sufro con dolor de estómago.

The food was delicious and the service first class. The staff were very attentive, polite and helpful to us and all others customers who came in. We chose to eat at their table rather than take our food away, and we were asked at the end if everything was ok by the staff and owner. The place is very clean and nicely decorated, and shows a high level,of professionalism.

On the positive front the staff are very friendly and the site is spotless but again the food failed to impress. Greasy fish and white undercooked chips. Such a shame but this has become the norm recently.

I've never experienced a better. The Decor is modern & fresh, very instagrammable, not your traditional chippy. Staff are attentive and welcoming, a really lovely family business. Food is alwats the best quality, fish are huge and lovely batter is perfect every time, Portions of chips are plentiful, and nicely cut. Not straggly. Can't fault it! Setting a really high bar for chip shops!

Not happy as online it says the shop is open but when you drive there it is shut. Wasted my time and petrol driving there for in accuracy of data on Google. Although food is good no point if you can't even buy it and wasting my time and money.

Visited here last week for fish and chips for my husband who is very fussy about fish and chips service good and staff pleasant my husband said they were the best fish and chips he has tasted for a long time quite a lot of batter on fish however fish and chips weren't greasy reasonably priced would definitely recommend this place and would visit again

My family who live in Gran Canaria arrived Friday teatime and couldn't wait for fish and chips, thank-you Daniela's for catering for quite a big order on the spur of the moment they were really lovely too.

It’s the best Fish & Chip I had in my life, highly recommended. The vinegar+salt on the fish is awesome.

Waited over 30 minutes to have cheese pattie and chips cooked. No idea what takes so long but it was absolutely ridiculous.

Normally always shop here but omg last night's fish was so greasy and batter thick as pigs lugs ...horrible absolutely horrible. I've actually been ill today and can only put it down to last nights meal as was only food I ate alday

Simply my favourite fish and chip shop, spotlessly clean white interior, then there’s the fish and chips!! spot on every time I’ve visited which is a lot over the years . The staff ! Seriously cannot meet a nicer more professional set of people everyone of them ! you can also order in advance and pick up to avoid the wait . Definitely worth travelling to visit or popping in if you’re passing .

Have had many meals from this establishment even through the pandemic… so decided on fish and chips as a mid week treat… Disappointed the usual fryer wasn’t there and a lady fryer was cooking cod was overcooked and I threw most of mine away….. cod had a funny taste to it also ropey could be an off day…. Will return in the future

Excellent! The best in the area - and beyond. Spotlessly clean and friendly, happy staff. Placed an order for 12 fish and chips and they were taking them out of the fryer as I walked through the door to collect. Staff individually wrapped them then put everything into heated cardboard boxes and carried out to car. A very well run business that know about delivering excellent customer service as well as great food.

My new favourite chippy. We had battered cod and chips, both were lovely. The premises were immaculate, server was very pleasant. I would definitely recommend and we will certainly be back.

We frequent this establishment regularly and continue to go back most weeks. The chips are always nicely cooked (a rarity these days where fish shops are concerned) and they use a good clean oil to fry. We've tried a number of the items on the menu and all are of good quality, cooked to perfection. The most important point to note is that kebabs are not on the menu, and it should remain that way! No fish shop should ever serve kebab in my opinion, so it's good that this proper fish and chip takeaway focuses on traditional chip shop favourites only.

Not a patch on Crozier Street fish shop. For me the chips are always ends and the batter nearly always uncooked on the inside. But the have nice touches with the lemon etc.

Superb quality food, never had a bad experience. Beautifully battered fish, not soggy, and outstanding quality fish which is perfectly cooked. Chips are always fabulous and plump and hardly and crusty ones without substance! Well packaged in boxes with a lemon wedge. Wonderful friendly service always, worth every penny

Daniela's Fish Bar takes fish and chips to a new level. The shop is spotless, clinically clean with immaculate white decor. The front door's wide and there's sufficient space inside the shop to make it a wheelchair friendly area. Also impressive is the quality of the fish. It's served in a compartmentalised box keeping fish and chips separate. The fish remains whole and unsquashed which is a treat and it's served with a quarter of fresh lemon which leaves a delicious zingy flavour in among the salt and vinegar. The portion of chips is sufficient and very tasty.

A fantastic fish bar ! The portions are generous and the fish is always well cooked. It's also very modern in its décor. It certainly doesn't look like your usual fish and chip shop.

We are regulars at Daniela's Fish Bar. It's probably the best Fish and Chip shop in Tyne and Wear. Everything is cooked to order, to a high standard, always nice. The shop itself is immaculate inside. Friendly local owners. The small portion of cod and chips is perfect for someone who, like myself, isn't a big eater. I'm also a fan of the cod bites. Look forward to it every week!

Taste, portion size and pricing - all make the perfect combination for this to be crowned the best chippy in the area. No parking nearby so be prepared to walk or get lucky with a spot on the road. Queuing is likely but the staff handle this very well and are super organised even on a very busy Friday evening.

We absolutely love Daniela's Fish Bar-we wouldn't go anywhere else for our fish and chips! We love how they have always been organised and mindful of providing a safe service to their customers throughout the lockdowns -but always friendly and efficient. 10/10

Start by saying I absolutely adore this place for quality. Always head over every Saturday for a standard portion haddock and chips. Sadly I’ve noticed the boxes the food is served in is constantly changing and today I opened my box to find the smallest ever portion of fish and a handful of chips. I’m from london so no stranger to small portions but this was an absolute liberty. Please stop scrimping and charge more if needed as It’s incredibly frustrating coming home to half a portion.

During the current climate they have done everything to enable its customer to be able to continue enjoying a delicious fish meal. Being able to pre order, being given a collection time and taking payments either at point of order or at collection makes for a pleasant experience. Ive been to Danielas fish bar quite a few times cannot fault them.I always bought two meals.This time I bought 1 meal, my wife is in hospital.When I got the meal home, the fish had been cooked so much there was hardly any fish there,it had been over cooked or left in the in the heater.The standard was well below other times Ive had a meal from them.

Such a treat to have the freshest fish, crisp batter and perfectly cooked chips! V reasonable for excellent quality!

Always excellent service all round, especially during these very testing times. While you rightly so cannot enter the premises at the moment, the place is spotless. Phoning in your order is not a problem, as you can pay before pick up, which helps with less waiting time. As for the staff, they are all spotless too and very friendly with it.
