The best restaurants in South Tyneside North East

Savannah is full of food that I will crave until I have it again. I did not think a banana split would be one of those items. I recommend the traditional. It was one of, if not the best dessert I’ve ever had. The details are incredible. This is not some novelty location with an assumed following from tenure. It’s an establishment that strives to represent its craft to the fullest. Wait in line. It’s worth it.

We have dined here many times and again tonight as a family of 6, everything was lovely and would highly recommend the Spice garden.

Stopped off here for a pint on the way home and was pleasantly surprised by very cozy pub with friendly staff and a good selection of beers.

Great food, great service, lovely staff..

This is normally one of my favourite curry houses in South Shields but last night was such a disappointment. The curries ordered were nice however we waited over 50 minutes for our main courses. Nobody updated us till the last minute. One server was lovely and let us know just before it came out. We had barely sat down and they wanted our drinks order, and didn't give us long to look at the menus before they were asking for our order. Which was annoying since the food took so long. I had to ask for water twice before it came as well. The manager seemed very odd and was just standing around watching and staring. The staff were all congregated around the bar and they kept looking over at our table and talking which made us feel quite uncomfortable. The general atmosphere was very strange and there wasn't the usual buzz that there is in the other shields curry houses.

Had an impromptu early supper with friends. I'm celiac and lactose intolerant so enquired and they have a limited gluten free menu but more than enough choice. I had the Pollo Criollo chicken which was absolutely delicious! I could have taken a pot of that sauce home with me! Chicken was cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and attentive and I felt safe and looked after would highly recommend any gluten free/celiacs this place as a safe place to dine.

Amazing Turkish food! I really miss Turkish food when we are not over there so to find somewhere that recreates authentic Turkish cuisine is amazing! The wraps are unreal, the lentil soup is spot on, and the boregi is lush too! So hard to find boregi at other places, we get these in mirgos everyday when over there so over the moon to find somewhere that makes them fresh! Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu

Food from here is delicious. Me and hubby in most days when the kids at school. Great atmosphere and always a chat to be had with the staff. Plus, very generous portions!

The best curry in the North East. You won't be disappointed with any dish from the curry centre. Me and my family have been going here for over 35 years and they've never let us down. Family owned with the friendliest team of people and the tastiest curry dishes going, I cant speak highly enough of the curry centre centre 🔥

We ordered a pork and a chicken Sunday lunch with apple crumble for dessert.They arrived early in bulging polystyrene boxes. They were red hot. There was plenty of meat, two roast potatoes, mashed potato, two Yorkshire puddings and five vegetables. It came with extra gravy and custard. It was like Grandma had resurrected and decided to make us dinner, having learned more about vegetables in the afterlife. We loved it. We couldn't finish the main, but that just left space for the gorgeous crumble. I would recommend. Bring on next Sunday. I'll have recovered by then

Popped in for a quick pint following the end of year celebration at the local secondary school, very pleasant gentleman serving behind the bar, good selection of beers, and a lovely pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord on pull, £10.40 for two pints and a large coke, would happily return

First time at this Deli today. Staff were friendly & great customer service. I bought a Cappuccino which did taste delicious 😋, but in in a very small cup for £3.50 which I thought expensive. I got a 4 pk ciabatta, Pork pie & apple and plum chutney All four items for £13.10 .

Best food on the nook! Staff are lovely

Despite it being Spring (allegedly), we had wanted a lovely take away Sunday lunch after a trip to the tip and garden centre. Our go to in the past has been Gallo Nero, so ordered online for a pick up. Our order was ready for collection, staff were prompt. Two beef dinners (loads of tender beef), two yorkies each and a variety of veg, plus gravy. We ordered extra gravy but didn’t need it as there was plenty. (It’ll keep for pie, chips and peas tomorrow night.) very nice lunch, recommended
