Amazing food! The vegetarian halloumi burgers are amazing. It gets pretty busy but they’re very efficient and food comes out very fast.

It was really good when it first opened but the quality went down so i stopped going. I went today after not going for over a year and me and my friend didn’t enjoy it. The chips tasted bland, no seasoning and didn’t look very appetising. The cheese burger was alright for me, but my friend said it was bland. Price has gone up to £8.50 but didn’t realise this, as it currently says £7.50 on their instagram and on the google ‘menu’ section. Inside looks very nice, it is great that there is places to sit now. Food was made quickly and staff are nice. It’s unfortunate that the price has gone up but the quality has gone down.

This place used to be brilliant, however recently the service and quality has gone down hill. They got our order completely wrong and when we tried to call to sort it, the phone line didn't connect, we then messaged them on instagram and got completely ignored while they continue to post on their timeline. Really frustrating as we've been going here for years and are loyal customers but probably won't be going back as the loyalty isn't repaid, we understand that mistakes are made, but to completely ignore your customers is very poor. Your loyal customers are the reason you've been able to grow, please don't disregard them.

I expected so much based on the reviews. I’d looked all over online to find a way to order a delivery but couldn’t. I tried to call to order online (I’m disabled and being able to pre-order for collection would have made things easier). The number didn’t work. So we visited. The shop was jam packed with teenagers. There was quite a stink. We ordered quickly and were told there’d be a 6 minute wait. (I was doubtful given the crowd). We waited over 20 minutes and finally got our order. We brought it home. The chicken with honey and chilli was ok… a bit greasy. All the chilli had fallen off and the honey was barely there. Very crispy though. Quite a small portion (3 tenders) given that it was £4.50. Each burger came with chips. I ate one and left them. They were dry fries. All over done and really stale. Our burgers weren’t what we ordered. One was supposed to have pastrami, it was missing. The other didn’t have its onions or sauce and the bacon was cremated. The patties smelled funky… a bit like that stale smell you get from cheap mince that is past its best. I feel a bit sick now thinking about it. We won’t be back.

The food this week was beautiful as always. The truffle mushroom special smelled unreal. I stuck with my standard order with all the add ons and I again wasn’t disappointed! Thank you again!

I look forward to the new specials everytime they change! This one is without a doubt my favourite 😍 the staff are always super friendly like they genuinely want to give you the best experience and the chefs take amazing care with the food! I still dont know how in today's day and age we can get this quality of food for such little cost! Unbelievable stuff 😍

Great food, went for the special of the week the fat Greek, 2 smash patties with feta in the meat, slice of fried halloumi cheese and taziki sauce, came with a side of loaded fries with taziki sauce crumbled feta and diced halloumi on top. It was immense, never had a bad meal from here. The new shop set up is spot on, plenty of room and seating to wait for food being cooked now

After all the hype, we tried it for the family ordered multiple burgers and chips for first time, from the reviews everything was hot NOT we literally live 10 mins away heating on in the car open up at home ...sub par fries burgers almost cold! ... sorry but real review!

Very good take away. Greek special burger very tasty. Christmas special very tasty. It's good enough for me to drive over from Whitburn specifically to pick one up. Even though I have several very good alternatives available which deliver to my house. That good!

You Need to Get a Burger from this place. I went today with My Son aa we like to Try New Recommend Burger Place. From arriving it looks fresh and inviting. The Lady taking our order was Amazing, Friendly and very polite. I got the Original and my Son got the Fussy with the All Add On. Wow What an Explosion of Taste. This place By a Country Mile is the Best Burger Around. Price is Fabulous compared too others. You Even get a Choice of a Tub of in house made sauce at No Extra Cost (choice of 6) . It was worth the 50 mile round Trip, will do it all over again in a Heartbeat

Been to Friez & Burgz South Shields for quite some time and posting this after 5th time. Usually I go with Delicate and some Filletz both are really good at the price point. 7.50£ for any burger seems to be a good deal and it also includes a portion of chips and sauce of your choice. People at frontdesk were nice and friendly and don’t forget to add their homemade seasoning onto your chips before you set off, it delicious and got a real punch to your taste buds

Best burger in south shields, there taste out of this world. It's not expensive depending on what you get, the smokey bbq/ garlic mayo is insane taste and the staff are great and so friendly. Go here regularly it's just that nice I would highly recommend giving it a try you won't be disappointed.

BEST BURGER IVE EVER HAD. Friez & Burgz in South Shields is a must go to. It’s extremely affordable with it being £7.50 for a Burger and Chips with any sauce of choice and a can on pop for £1.50. I got the Fussy burger which is just beef and cheese, however I added in lettuce. It was hot, wasn’t dry, the bun was soft and all together was just amazing. There was a massive queue when I had gone in, but the staff worked amazingly fast and I was waiting less than 10 minutes and there was at least a minimum of 20 people in the shop waiting for food. The staff were friendly and polite so made the experience even better. 10/10 and would recommend to any burger lover.

Burger was amazing, highly recommend

Disappointed with the meat in the burger, bun was hard as opposed to toasted. Accoutrements in burger were good. Chips were mainly the scrag ends. Garlic sauce was lovely. Been here before and enjoyed it. Service was good. Upsets me that the name is that way around but it doesn't really make a difference.

It was good back in the day the food was nice and well priced. but now it’s horrible Personally I think they’ve changed their chef and the new one can’t cook. burger bun wet and soggy and the fries rock hard this is the 3rd bad visit ,never again

The fries are amazing and come with the burger. Overall a well priced fast meal. I got the smokey chix. It was pretty darn good but a tad on the dry side.

Had food from here a few times and it's always been amazing but the last time I went the fries were horrible,please revert back to the way they were.

Visited Friez&Burgz on a recommendation from a friend. I got the Original burger and opted to add pastrami as an extra. As you can see in the pictures the burger comes with a sauce of your choice and fries. The taste of this burger for the price cannot be understated. You can easily pay £5+ more for burgers of comparable quality from the likes of meat stack or fat hippo. The experience is topped off by the really easy presentation and eating experience of the boxes. Once opened, the boxes fold out into a tray, which is fantastic for take away. I'll definitely be back.

Been going here almost three times a month since it opened. Love it, there’s nothing to complain about. The service is always amazing regardless of how busy they are and they are ALWAYS busy. Burgers are cooked in front of you, always taste bang on, seasoning is always on point. Fries are crispy on the outside fluffy in the middle. Better yet, it’s cheap. WHATS NOT TO LIKE!? ————- 2024 update ———— Wow this has gone downhill, prices have gone up, quality has gone down. The burger is still 10/10 The fries were just awful, so tasteless and under seasoned. The chicken was tiny, again, insanely bland, it had zero flavour. The garlic sauce is flat out horrible, genuinely baffled me to how bad it was! I’d never get the chicken again, tbf it’s put me off going back at all.

I tried the Classic Beef Burger here and it was really good—tasty and well-made. The fries were also good. However, the place was quite cold, which made it uncomfortable to dine in. I’d recommend this spot for takeaway instead. Good value for the price! Rating: 7/10.

A few has told me about this place and had to check it out for myself. The lady beside the counter was very polite and friendly. The waiting time for the food was very quick between 10-15 mins. My partner and I left and when I open the box it looked amazing but the taste was WOW. The fries were out of this world and the burger (delicate) was the best burger I've ever had and my partner was truly amazed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Definitely give the food a 9/10. I would certainly be back again.

Possibly the best burger I've ever had, the Shrooms and brie burger was perfect, I was genuinely sad when I finished it and was tempted to head back for another. I'm glad I got the recommendation and it was worth the 35 minute drive. The vegetarian burger with halloumi was apparently also good

Got the special of the week burger with honey chilli chicken and smash burgers with messy fries. Was really impressed, well priced burger which is one of the best I've ever had, the honey chilli chicken with the burger was really nice. I'd highly recommend if anyone is thinking of going. There's a couple tables outside where you can stand and eat if you like.

Driving past South Shields after 2 years, so planned a stop here for my favorite "Delicate" smashed burger. Staff seem different from when they started out, but the burger was still as good. We had to wait for 45 minutes as some guys in Nissan work gear had a massive order of 42 burgers before ours. Also tried their meatball and pasta box which was nice but a bit expensive at £12. I wish they opened up at 11am instead of 12!

Finally broke my f&b virginity! After years of following on Facebook and drooling on my phone screen! Got the tangy chix (comes with chips and dip) for £7.50! Crazy value and taste was fantastic! and chips were amazing! Got halloumi on side which was also top quality. Partner got the 'delicate' burger which was beautiful! Also because I'm a greedy pig I got the special chicken filletz... Size of my hand 🖐️ huge! Again tasted insane and insane value! In the words of Arnie... I'll be back!

Still one of the best burgers around only a small premises so sometimes you need to wait outside for the food which has never been a problem as the wait is minimal. If ur in shields and you or the kids want a burger, give mcdonalds a miss and go here far superior product at a bey good price

They're simply the best, better than all the rest. Better than any smash, any smash you've ever ate.

This place was amazing when it first opened, but seems to have gone downhill the past couple of visits when we’ve been. The burger was uneatable, swarming in grease and the bun was that soggy with the grease it squelched after every bite. I get burgers are greasy, but this was next level. The actual patty was tasteless, no flavouring at all. The chips were half cooked and still raw in the middle. The only decent thing was the can of pop we got.

Only let down is the price but the food is amazingly good

Lush food but very small when busy

Absolutely unreal this food. Would recommend to anyone. Beautifully seasoned, and hearty portion. I got light chix, add on beef patty, add on chicken tenders and garlic Parmesan dips. As you can see, unreal! Cost under £15 each.

My previous post said the 'best American style burger I've had outside of the States'. This one has to add to that 'excellent customer service' as when ordering a burger today, I mentioned that the lass who I last ordered from had got it completely wrong as she was also having to assemble and stamp a huge number of take-away boxes, with the burger itself marginally less good than the previous; an 8 rather than a 10. Today's burger was on the house; I felt so guilty that I had to buy a cheese cake which was also bloody good. If you like burgers, try one from here, you won't be disappointed!

We've ordered from Friez and Burgz South Shields twice before and all the food was lovely and the service super fast. We went in again tonight and had an issue with our order but this was rectified really quickly and the service from the man we spoke to was amazing. We wanted to put this review on to say how good the food and customer service is, will definitely be visiting again!

Went in for this weeks special on Friday night, placed my order and waited patiently - influx of about 20 people after me and all got thier food before me. Queried with the women at the counter and the kitchen said it would "3" more minutes. Turns out they lost the ticket - was finally given the food after 30 minutes of waiting. Special was average at best - looked like it was thrown together with cold chips. Great. In all honesty in my opinion the quality of food at Friez&Burgz has decreased severely.

Food was once lovely but now just bang average. Shame

Ordered on just eat. Wrong burger delivered and sauce missing, called to explain assured new burger and sauce would be delivered. Called numerous times and was told 'its on its way' it never arrived. Very dissapointed, very poor customer service. This place is pricey so out of pocket almost £15 and hungry too!

Lovely burgers, fries were a bit under done but will be back

First time visit yesterday, arrived around late lunch time, quite a busy time of day so there was a que but customers weren't waiting long for their orders and neither were my friend and I, super quick! Ordered The Classic, fries with (plain) chicken tenders on top, Garlic Sauce and Slaw to try a bit of everything. And everything was absolutely top notch; tasty juicy burger, lovely fries but the chicken tenders were literally the BEST I'VE EVER HAD! The crispy light fried batter with fresh delicious chicken complimented with their amazing home made garlic sauce to perfection. Pricing is incredibly good, you really do get your moneys worth here, you’ll roll out stuffed with a smile on your face. I've been to other burger joints that will charge you double for half the quality compared to here, 10/10! Our final part of our visit was stumbling back to the counter, full as whales, we'd noticed their dessert cheesecake pots and bought 4 for the road (2 for our other half's who were sadly slaving away at work while we were having the time of our lives). Settled on the Biscoff, which was delicious, creamy but not too heavy and went down a treat on the evening. We'll see you again soon!

First time visiting after drooling from afar. Kept it simple with a classic, an American and a chick sub from the saver menu. Mouthwateringly good! Chips delicious. Could tell it was going to be fabulous from the queue of people waiting. Pricing is spot on. £6.50 for a handmade smashed burger and fries!

Food is amazing service dependent on who is palatable one girl bring very good The atmosphere for anyone environmental sensitive or who has maybe hearing issues this place can be extreemly unbearable to wait in with the rave music they place most times blasting it is also not a very large space so when busy it is like sardine bit that is what you expect from somewhere with food as good as this place the range though looking small is fully customisable so really endless combinations on fancy the best burgers and fries I jlhave found by far in the uk absolutely no doubt about it tje prices are also extreemly good for the value amd size and product all full freshly made to order patty and all

The food was very good when it first open, but now I think they no consistency with the quality of food. The burgers and fries are not very good anymore tasteless. Fries are dry and cold, and it has gone a bit downhill.. The woman on the counter doesn't have good customer service skills . It's such a shame..

The first few months these guys opened, everything tasted perfect. After a year it got worse and worse! Chicken is always dry and cold, strips are horrendous and taste overcooked/old and the chips are always dry and crunchy. Everytime I say to myself I’ll give it another shot I regret it! Consistently is key but you guys have lost it unfortunately.

Went there one night as our local place was shut. Very good service as was served within 10 minutes sadly there are no seats to sit in so we took it home. Burger was rly good however the bacon was too crispy for me but the rest of the burger was really good. The chips are mediocre nothing special but they work.

Beautiful smashed burgers and dangerously close to my workplace. Everything cooked to perfection - crunchy chips delicious beef patties, lovely seasoning. Quick turn around - proper fast food. Nice selection of toppings and dips too. One of my favourite burger places now. Highly Recommend. Accepts card. Takeaway with a few seats at the window. Busy at weekday lunch time. Nice professional service.

Been many times, but unfortunately on this occasion was less than satisfactory. Food salty, chips over cooked and crunchy?? Please sort this out and return to the best burger and fries south of the Tyne.
