Gallo Nero in South Tyneside

Gallo Nero is firmly on our treat nights list and has been for a while. Penne Bolognese and a meat feast pizza with skinny chips. Delivery was quick and food hot. Enough for two meals and money off, win win.

Whereas the quality of the food you receive is the main part of a review, we are conscious of the whole event including service. Up until last night we’ve had great food and service. Last night we booked via their own site with the promise of 10% off and a free garlic or tomato bread if you spend over £25. Unfortunately the delivery time expected came and went and I had to ring up to check where it was. I also queried the money off and no free item on the order. We were informed that we are supposed to ask for it? We hadn’t before now. The owner apologised but the gloss was taken off the meal despite him stating we’d get a free one next time. Food quality for reference was good.

We didn’t get a chance to have a lovely takeaway Sunday dinner from here with being busy. The next best thing, a takeaway at night time. Trying linguine meatballs this time with our favourite cheese, fat chips and bolognese sauce. Lovely, delivered quickly and ready to eat.

Best. Pizza. Ever - at least in the North East. I've been dubbed as a pizza snob by friends, but Gallo Nero is just amazing and takes the prize for my favourite pizza place since I moved to the North East. 10 out of 10.

Instead of disagreeing with my other half as to what takeaway we’d have, we both agreed it was Gallo Nero to look forward to. We weren’t let down. It was delivered on time (massive special deal of 40% off over a minimum spend), ready to eat. For last nights meal we opted for cheesy crusted calzone pizza picanto and cheesy fat chips with bolognese. Both were really tasty and filling. This left a fajita alfonso for tea tonight, bargain.

We ordered Cheese, chunky chips and bolognese sauce, a side of (lovely) chunky chips and a Pollo Valostanna. It was a great choice. Delivered early, hot and totally tasty. Only downside is it isn’t open all the time.

Best takeaway/delivery pizza to be had in South Tyneside ! Toppings are so nice and pizzas are not greasy like normal takeaways !! Must of ordered (to Hebburn) about half a dozen times and each time everyone loved it !

We’ve enjoyed using gallo nero before and with husband recovering from illness we both wanted tasty, hot food without a lot of spice. Good choice made. Cheese (thick cut) chips with bolognese, Penne Allalucifero between us. Lovely, delivered quickly, hot and reached our bonus milestone so money off next time.

Quantity of meal and extra sides were excellent, delivery on time and really tasty and filling. Great price for meals ordered, we are enjoying using this takeaway a lot.

It has been years since we’d used Gallo Nero, but tonight fancied not just a pizza takeaway but different italian dishes. Delivery was quick, hot, ready to eat but although nice, (we shared the fajita alfrono and Kapsalon). Yes tasty but not as good as we’d expected, something was missing to take the food from good to very good, shame
