Ristorante Bravi in South Tyneside

The best steak I've had for years. Asked for it rare and that's exactly how it came. It melted in my mouth like butter, I was sad to eat the last piece. The staff work like a well-oiled machine.

Booked for Sunday lunch so the menu was very limited. I opted for the prawn and melon cocktail and roast beef and hubby selected mushroom bruschetta and the chefs special seafood pasta. The starters were OK, hubby liked his, mine was pleasant but no piquancy to the sauce, very bland. As for the mains, the roast was average, the mash was lumpy (reminiscent of school dinners) and the roasties were greasy instead of crispy. The mussels in the pasta were chewy. The service was good, staff were chatty and friendly. However I did notice several elderly people who had obvious mobility issues struggling up and down the challenging flight of stairs yet not one member of staff pointed out the lift to them! The lift is not visible from the restaurant floor and we certainly did not notice it on entry as the stairs and restaurant grab your attention. I think the staff should be more aware of their customers issues and perhaps some clear signage in the foyer wouldn't come amiss?

Thought we'd go out for a meal and hadn't tried this place in a while. As before, it was excellent. The decor is lovely, brightly lit and welcoming as are the staff who are friendly and were quick to help us have a very pleasant time, despite us being next to a very busy table, we weren't neglected in the least. The food was delicious and there is a wide range of choices onthe menu and a list of specials. It's on the pricier side but you really get what you pay for - a fantastic meal, great service and an enjoyable night out.

A word of mouth recommendation sent us to Bravi for the first time and went with an open mind. The first thing was that it seems secluded and private. The lighting and background music was ideal. The service and food was great and we will definitely visit again

Cannot rate this restaurant highly enough, the welcome, food, service and atmosphere perfect. 15 of us and we never had an empty glass or had to wait for service. This is fine dining at its best but the price tag doesn't break the bank! Very competitively priced. We will be back !.

It was a most enjoyable night made so by the very helpful and efficient staff who went the extra mile to help you. The spacious room and friendly atmosphere as well as the excellent food and service made our night complete.

Came here for my 65th birthday with family and it exceeded all expectations. Beautiful inside ,bright airy and very well presented. Staff were so efficient and friendly, nothing was a bother to them. Food was superb, everyone's meals were very well presented and tasted wonderful. Would 100% recommend visiting.

Our family has been coming to Bravi on and off as an occasional treat ever since it opened many years ago. It is always excellent. Staff are so friendly and accommodating, the food is delicious and the environment is very luxurious. They are always happy to try and accommodate requests which is so lacking these days. It looks very unassuming from the outside - the very definition of a ‘hidden gem’! Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

A proper traditional Italian restaurant. Authentic menu, wonderful service and great value for money. Absolutely my favourite go-to place for seafood. Where else in the north east can you get halibut, sea bass, monkfish, salmon, prawns or mussels all served like they do in Italy? The pasta and risotto are pretty dammed good as well. (I say this having lived in Italy for a year - Bravi is the real deal)

We were in the little annex next to the main restaurant which is more private and perfect for a birthday meal. They had printed a lovely menu for each person. My dad thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Visited this excellent restaurant on Valentines day. Asusual the staff were welcoming and very attentive. The food is of a very high standard and presented with style. The restaurant is run by Glno Minchella and his lady wife and is one of the best places to dine in the North East. Well worth a visit.

We had an excellent meal last night at Ristorante Bravi. It was our grandsons 13th birthday and Elaine and the staff made this an occasion for him to remember decorating the table and leaving a birthday card. We booked the back table 18 people for our Wedding meal on Saturday. It was absolutely amazing, the restaurant set up the table and cake up for us, it looked beautiful. The team bent over backwards wards for us. The food was amazing too, really tasty, it was really busy, but everything came really quickly, even though there were so many of us all choosing different meals! The service was fantastic and everyone said how much they enjoyed it!! Thank you so much for making our day so special.

Was here for my brother's birthday with the family and with it being our first time here I wasn't sure what to expect but the food was amazing.
