I dined here with my daughter, son in law and my granddaughter two weeks ago. It was a lovely place and felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. We ordered our starters which arrived in good time. All were delicious until the last mouthful of my dish ( garlic mushrooms ) I thought I had a bit of dried mixed herbs in my mouth, however it was a piece of a metal scouring pad. I was obviously very disappointed with this and mentioned it to the waiter who asked the chef what this could be. He returned and said it was something off the pan that he cooked the dish in. I said that it looked like a piece of metal from a scouring pad and he said it wasn't. Fortunately this was my dish and not my granddaughter's who is only 17 month old. I let it go as I didn't want to spoil the rest of the dinner. I ordered a pizza which was lovely, my daughter and son in law ordered pasta with chicken, my daughter found a bit of gristle in her chicken and pushed it aside but then started to inspect the rest of her meal. She found another piece of meat that still had the tendon in. She was put off the meal and subsequently did not eat anymore, as my son in law had ordered the same he didn't finish his meal either. I complained again about it and he asked the chef again what it could be. He returned saying that it was the only chicken they had and no alternative. He said he would take that meal off the bill. We went in for the specials which is around £12 each for a starter and main, we did order a child's meal which was a meal and ice cream, but we didn't even get the ice cream. When I got the bill they had took the main meal off but still charged for the starter of garlic mushrooms. I paid the bill £47.63 and left obviously not a happy customer. In hindsight I should've questioned the bill there and then but my granddaughter was getting grouchy by this time. My daughter had potato skins for her starter which I would imagine be one of the cheapest starters on the menu and I had the garlic mushrooms as mentioned with the piece of metal found in it. I shouldn't have had to pay for that at all. Also I should've taken a photo of the piece of metal and the meals but just didn't think about it at the time. I will have my wits about me if this happens again. Overall, the waiter and waitress that served us were lovely and very apologetic, also rushed off their feet in the end when it started to get busy. However, we will most definitely not be returning to this place anytime in the future and will be sure to tell friends and family of this experience.

Nice but small portion size. over £10 for burrito and it was very small wrap. probs about £3 worth of ingredients inside. small portions on pasta and over priced.

Lovely foods - ordered the Steak alla Crema, Chicken Carbonara pasta, Black pudding, all delicious - received a Feta salad box instead of the Caprese but still enjoyed it! Thank you! Little observation, if the cold items can be packaged separately from the hot dishes😁

Just came back from having the best amazing meal at Daviincis and I have too say a fantastic evening. From great customer service and 5 star food.

Booked a table online so we could celebrate my mums 70th birthday. Very happy we did, although on a Sunday and I did not realise they only served a roast. However, we were not disappointed with the food. The service and food was excellent and two of our party required gluten free, which was catered with no issue. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, lovely little place. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

Tonight’s meal was the best we’ve ate in ages from JE. Piping hot and really tasty! I had the vegetarian burrito and is was HUGE, every bite was really nice. The steak alla crema & rice was demolished and the chicken carbonara was equally delicious!!

Food was nice, hot and came early. We were missing a can of Pepsi and the delivery driver came back on his own accord to deliver it himself about 20 minutes later

For our family dinner we wanted to throw a party. The owner and his family we're amazing. Great communication. Very accommodating. The food was lovely. It was a great atmosphere. Vegetarian and Vegan friendly.

Cannot fault this restaurant at all. First time ordering for my daughter's birthday whose favourite food is carbonara. Absolutely fantastic pasta dishes. Garlic bread with cheese tremendous and potato skins lovely. We all enjoyed it and it came 15/20 mins early and was piping hot. Will definitely be ordering again. thanks very much

***AVOID AT ALL COSTS*** The other week I and my partners came here for a date night. We had never been before, and enjoyed it very much. Staff were great. Food was delicious. Lastnight I decided I couldn’t stay away, and so I and my partner decided to have it again but, this time take out as it has been a long day for us. We ordered on just eat where the restaurant accepted the order. It stated 21:25 on our just eat yet when we arrived the shutters were down. We contacted the business and they basically agreed to taking our money, and leaving which with the cost of living and families to feed this is absolutely disgusting. They stated that they called us 3 times as order was called at 9:05 but we did not arrive. We have proof of no call and proof of our order stating 21:25 yet they cannot do anything. I really found a new beautiful restaurant here but, this has well and truly spoilt it. Will not be returning.

We had a lovely meal in here. Very traditional Italian food. The meal wasn’t rushed and the staff were friendly.

It’s been years since we were last in here so it was long overdue. The menu on their website is old so the prices are much more expensive now. However, the food is very good. The calzone was great. Tasty and enjoyable. The service was excellent.

For my daughter's 18th we wanted to throw a party for my family that all live in South Shields. From start to finish the owner (Payam) and his family we're amazing in helping setting up. Great communication. Very accommodating. The food was lovely. It was a great atmosphere. We'd definitely recommend it!

We went to Da Vincis on an impulse tonight. Although we have been many times before. We walked into a packed restaurant. Fortunately, the family who were celebrating a birthday are related to my wife. We were squeezed in. The staff were brilliant. They coped with a packed room. Everyone I spoke to agreed the food & service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Had Sunday lunch with my siblings as we do every month but this one was extra special as our auntie from Australia came with us on her visit back to her north east roots. Thank you we had a great time x

We stopped in for glutten free pasta. They told us they had it. We ordered drinks. When the waitress came up said they didn't have it. The right thing to do is offer us the drinks for free but we had to pay before leaving. We were told the food was great here but the lack of communication between the wait staff and the front of the house was not good.

Went for Early Bird meal with friends. The entire meals were very poor. Lasagne portion absolutely tiny. Bolognaise sauce was watery. Was told by the waiter that the portion was small as it was early bird. Misleading advert as the meal was half the size. Asked to speak to the manager we were informed they were too busy to speak to us. We won’t go back !,

Awful food. Ordered Kiev got chicken and tomato. Delivered an hour early cos they wanted to close. I was still at work . Ignorant staff member hung up on me. If you like good food DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE ALL ROUND. CHARGED 2.50 TO DELIVER A QUARTER MILE. SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM JUST EAT

The whole of the ocean Road is full of restaurants and we decided on Da Vinci italian. It was a good choice. Lovely welcome, great traditional restaurant with a warm feel and welcome. The food and service was fantastic. would recommend as it was lovely italian food.

Service was good, but one of the soups was cold and one too hot. Carbonara wasn't great, but ok and I had asked for a starter pate as my main and when I was asked if I wanted a bigger portion I declined as starter portion is ample, but when it arrived I had a huge plate full of ready made pate corn toast platter with chutney on top. I sent it back but he insisted I have it. It was overfacing and I couldn't eat it. Don't think we'll be back

Great restaurant, excellent food and staff. Only down side, very cold, no heating on. Was also there in January and same problem.

Best espresso martini in town, really friendly staff and great food… would deffo recommend Davincis restaurant make it a special occasion.

Always order from here and I’ve never once had a complaint but tonight wasn’t overly good at all.. is there a new chef? If so please tell him/her they are covering the food with salt like you couldn’t taste anything else so disappointing cause like I say it’s normally so good from here.. the lasagna was a lot of sauce just really sloppy with a small bit of pasta and mince in the middle .. we did get cheesecake and that was still amazing… will order again tho see if it was just a one off 😀 also the driver is so canny and very polite

What a fantastic meal at Davinci's tonight. We thoroughly enjoyed both courses. The starter was enough to feed a group of 4 and the main course was simply mouthwatering! Brilliant chef and excellent customer service. Thank you so much. Our new favourite place.

DaVinci’s is our favourite Italians in this area, food never disappoints, good menu selection, reasonable prices. Staff are always so friendly, the two young waiters are very professional and mature, cozy surroundings and a traditional atmosphere.

The food here is amazing, I only popped in for a quick lunch and ended up enjoying 3 courses. Worth noting that this was the nicest halloumi I ever had

Family meal. We all enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly.

I used to love it here. But it's gone seriously downhill. The calimari was frozen, and everything else was microwaved. All the food was soft, tasteless, and just sad. The attitude from the kitchen was appalling, too. We sent food back, as the pasta was way overcooked and mushy, and the kitchen said it's supposed to be like that. I'm never returning, and I advise you don't waste your time with this place.

The menu is priced differently to the website, for example the web said £17 for a steak and when we sat down it was actually £25. Quite a bit of a difference which may be an unpleasant surprise for some people, especially if you’re on a budget. Saying that the food was lovely and the service was good.

We have collectively been going to DaVinci’s for many years now, and we have never experienced a bad meal. The food seems to improve with every visit. The menu is full of selection and there is some great gems on the specials board, the Pork...

We waited 1 hour for pizza and calzone, which is unheard of in any Italian restaurant. The pizza base was thick, soft and floppy, maybe fried base, almost not cooked enough. The calzone was soft wet, rather than firm and crispy. I think the restaurant doesn't have the correct ovens for good pizza, nor a good cook. It's unfortunate that they got it so so wrong, we won't ever eat again here.

Stopped over at the weekend, checked the restaurants online, this one appealed too me because it said it was a family run business. Got there at around 1, early bird was still on, 2 courses £8.95,£12.95 or £15.95, so 2 starters 2 mains 2 drinks and if you payed by cash 💸 you got 10% knocked off your bill witch came to £22.25, well worth it, will definitely go back, well done davinci's 👍 👍👍👍

Great Restaurant, the food took some time, but it was delicious. The staff (Anna and Ryan) were friendly and the service was great. Great experience.

Meatballs are soft and mushy, taste like they are processed from a tin. Garlic bread is nothing better than you'd get from your local kebab shop, far from what they used to serve in the restaurant.

I ordered 2 pasta dishes & a garlic bread. The portions were generous and piping hot. The delivery was very quick and the delivery driver very polite. A thoroughly enjoyable meal.

really disappointed with my order last night have tried to call but no answer. always order the same things and the bruschetta was completely different it had about 5 big slices of tomato and some salad on top of bread.

Been here for quite a few meals over the years and last night I ordered a takeaway. Service was very quick and the pollo bbq pizza is absolutely beautiful! Up there with one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had!
