Delhi 6 in South Tyneside

We have been repeat customers for many years, returning for holiday we called and ordered a takeaway as we had nothing in the house. We were advised an hour for delivery. In the hour I received a call asking to confirm our address as the driver couldnt find our house. The driver was in a different town 15 mins away as who took our order noted the address incorrectly. I asked would the food still be hot and was assured it would be. 20 minutes after the call confirming our address the food was delivered. The containers were smashed and puddles of curry in the bag. Moreso the food was warm at best. I sent photos of the food and also called the restaurant to get it rectified but was basically called a liar. Yes the food may have been hot when it left the restaurant but driving around looking for an address that didnt exist and then a further 20 minutes to my address the food most certainly didnt arrive hot. Short of £30 in the bin. We will definitely not be returning and will not be making any more recommendations to family and friends after this experience.

We ate here after reading TripAdvisor recommendations. We were not disappointed. Great food ,great place, and wonderful staff.

Working in the area so once again I look for the best trip advisor reviews. This pointed me towards Delhi 6 on Ocean Road. To be honest I’ve tried many restaurants around here over the years without posting reviews, however Delhi 6 certainly deserves commenting on. I turned up alone on a Tuesday evening around 8.30 pm and was made to feel welcome. The menu contains many dishes I’ve not come across before as well as the usual well known ones. I started with Chicken 65, this was exceptionally well presented and tasted exquisite, even though I made the wise or unwise decision ( whatever your preference) to eat the full chilli which almost blew my mouth out. I initially washed this down with a pint of Cobra which wasn’t the best, however this was quickly changed for a better pint of Cobra without me even asking. My main course of Lamb Railway was very pleasant. Service was very pleasant and attentive without being over the top. The bill was reasonable and the restaurant arranged a taxi back to my hotel. Great overall experience, thanks guys 👍

The plus side was that the staff were really really nice, the decor isn’t bad either. However, I cannot understand why this place has got such really good reviews. The pickles tray was brighter in colour than Blackpool illuminations. All artificial, no sense of anything really fresh in there, like onion, fresh herbs, or a decent quality lime pickle. They chicken tikka was succulent, but tasteless! I have never had a chicken tikka masala, so Blonde yet so bright in colour. All I could taste was coconut. I have had better microwave meals from Marks & Spencer’s definitely will not be coming back ! The final touch was the fact that they were serving Morrisons Chablis over the road. The other Good thing was it was cheap, however, there is a reason !

What a great restaurant, the decor is excellent, fresh and bright. The staff are excellent too, very pleasant, welcoming and efficient. The food was first class, with the starters outstanding, the plain curry and madras curries we had were made to perfection with the correct level of spices, totally different. The nan bread was also excellent as were the rices. Even the coffees were great quality to finish off. Our new favourite Indian restaurant in South Shields and it will take some beating, looking forward to an early return. Highly recommended.

Best Indian restaurant ever. So good, Manchurian is my favourite but everything is great. Staff very friendly and helpful, prices very reasonable and food is outstanding.

Not at all to its previous standards. The food was very slow to arrive, 55 minutes. What did arrive was quite bland, quite flavourless. Great presentation and decent sized portions, but that was about it. There are many other restaurants in the area with similar cuisine. I’d try a few of them before picking this one on my next visit.

The best there is! We started using deli 6 in lock down and haven’t looked back. The service is fantastic, and the food quality superb. I’d also mention that on occasion during a busy Saturday night we have had a few mistakes on our delivery, but I’m a firm believer in it’s always how’s it’s handled. Which in this case is always really well, and out right quickly, which is why we come back to them time and time again.

Great place free parking nearby food very very good drinks were reasonably priced lots of chicken in the curries onion Bhajii were great only a minor thing nann bread was a bit dry for us but not an issues we would return if I were in the area

A few minutes away from the beach side lays a road of many restaurants, the one that caught our eyes... And our noses was Delhi 6. We entered as a group of four and were warmly welcomed and were seated right away despite it being a busy Saturday night.The decor gave the restaurant a nostalgic atmosphere, a balance between British modernity and Asian tradition. We ordered a range of tandoori and curry dishes, the Fiery Lamb Kholopuri was an instant favourite, the lamb chops were also seasoned to perfection.The restaurant itself was well staffed, who were both friendly and helpful, with the manager themselves being full of energy and a great host to his patrons. All in all a terrific experience and I would gladly visit again next time I'm in town.

Could not recommend this place more!Possibly the best curries I’ve ever had.The staff were fantastic, the restaurant was clean and tables were positioned well for social distancing. The service was quick and efficient and a varied menu to suit everybody. Will 100% be back.

Since first opening , myself and partner have been regular customers to this awesome restaurant. Wether it be to sit in and dine, or a takeaway, we have always been given quality service. The whole team provide a welcoming friendly atmosphere and a true taste sensation every single time.This should be in the top of anyone's list for great food in South Shields.

Our absolute favourite restaurant / takeaway. Every meal we’ve had from Delhi 6 has been amazing and the customer service is second to none. We had many deliveries from the restaurant during lockdown and every one of them was restaurant quality. Even my children, who had previously refused Indian food, love it. They usually go for the butter chicken but have also tried a few others now, enjoying all of them. The King Prawn Goa is unreal and we love the railway lamb as well. We won’t go anywhere else now.

After reading and hearing great things about this place for about a year I eventually tried it for myself. I will most likely never ever be going to any other Indian restaurant in Shields again. Absolutely unreal! I banged on about it for about a week afterwards telling everyone to try it. I’ve only been twice and twice I got takeout to collect but from ordering to collecting I only had to wait half an hour and the food was piping hot when I collected and got it home as well. I tend to avoid lamb curries as I find the texture of the lamb strange, a bit rubbery and stringy but from here it is unbelievable! Definitely will be returning again and again and again! Everyone who works there should be very proud of themselves!

This place never disappoints the food is by far the best Indian cuisine you will get in South Shields cooked to perfection. Front of house staff are very professional and polite. It's the only restaurant I use because I know the quality will never lapse. Keep up the hard work.

Amazing food you won’t find better. I used to eat the same meal EVERY time (chicken soft, aka masala). Delhi 6 has broaden my horizons and made me realise there is a lot more to Indian food. Very friendly and helpful staff that go above and beyond every time.

Delicious mouthwatering food. Onion Bhajis are the best, so light. Popadoms are fab and the dishes are amazing flavours. Definitely a different Indian food experience. All staff are cheerful are just wonderful. we have asked for something off menu and have been accommodated every time with no problems at all. That’s why we return regularly. Birthday evening meal out. It’s been a while due to covid, but still exactly the same standard of service and food we have become accustomed to over the last few years. Starters, breads, and mains, all delicious. Well done Shah Lalon on maintaining the standard over the last very difficult 16 months.

Weve been to this establishment before and it was awesome. So when we came to south shields again, we decided to try it again, this time in a larger group. Unfortunatly this time, we did not enjoy the curry, it was very watery, one of the worst curries i have had, the starters were amazing though. There was a long wait inbetween courses. We will try again when we are up north. Hoping to get the same standard as we fot the first time!

Delhi 6, how I’ve missed you. Well, kind of, given the number of takeaway meals I’ve had from them since last year, which have been excellent, but there’s something better about being there. Everything ordered was excellent. Chicken Manchurian is still my favourite curry going and I’m converting more people to it every time, with the Bombay prawns a lovely starter as well. The railway lamb, chicken bhuna and CTM that were had by others went down a treat. So glad to be back, and the staff were equally welcoming and great.

Booked a table for 3 on bank holiday Monday. We were lucky enough to order from the 3 course special menu. The food was great quality as was the service. Will look forward to visiting again soon.

We recently dined at Delhi 6, as a family, in South Shields. It was our first visit after 6 months. It was a memorable meal. My family is vegan and we had a delicious vegan Biryani. My personal favourite. The staff were charming and attentive, overseen by the manager who kept everything running smoothly. The venue is cosy and an ideal environment for a family occasion. The music was softly playing, so we could talk, and the ambient temperature was very comfortable. Definitely worth a visit! We will be regular visitors in future.

Having had takeaways delivered during lockdown we were delighted to visit in person. The Dynamite Prawns are amazing, service was perfect although the restaurant was fully booked.The main course was amazing, thr lamb tender and the sauce was full of flavour. Booking our next visit as soon as we can. Shah and his staff are very attentive and you can ask for your meal to have spice to your personal taste.

Been a customer of Delhi 6 since it opened and I can honestly say we’ve never had a disappointing meal yet . The food is delicious and varied , and Shah and his staff are welcoming . One person with us had never been to Delhi 6 before , he was absolutely blown away with the food ! He said it’s going to be his restaurant of choice now . Let’s face it you don’t become number one and first choice restaurant easily , you have to be the best which Delhi 6 certainly is by far . Keep doing what your doing , it’s a pleasure to dine here .

Weve been going to Delhi 6 since it opened. This is the best Indian restaurant in the area, would recommend to anyone. Food is really tasty and plenty of choices available, the variety of street food is fab, tried many different curries here over the time and never had a bad meal. Ate here on an over night trip to South Sheilds. Staff were really friendly. Food was superb, we had the set menu which was ample. Considering it was a Monday night, the ambience was lovely and the restaurant was comfortably busy. Great prices too.

A must visit place if you want a good quality high end resturent without paying too much ! Very cheap and reasanable price and customer service I would give 10/10! Welldone guys keep up the great work!

We would have preferred to dine in the restaurant, but with current restrictions on hospitality, we decided on a take-away instead. This was the first time we've eaten at Deli 6 and I look forward to returning for a sitdown meal in the future. The first thing that impressed me was how polite and helpful the gentleman was who took the order. We asked for a dish that wasn't listed on the menu, and he was happy to accommodate our request. The food arrived quickly and the portion sizes were good. Although the whole meal was very pleasant, I particularly enjoyed the lamb pieces from the Rogan wrapped in the soft naan bread. Absolutely delicious!

We’ve been ordering from Delhi 6 for a while now but never thought of giving a review so here goes. We’ve been to sit in this wonderful restaurant a couple of times and what a fabulous place to be to enjoy quality Indian food. You’d think a delivery service would be far from a sitty down meal but I’d honestly say it’s just as good, piping hot and always on time. If you’ve never been before, your missing out. Until the next time Delhi 6, stay safe !!

My wife and i have been visiting Dehli 6 every Friday since it opened.During this time we have never had a bad meal.It has either been good or very good.The service is top drawer and we have made friends with the staff.I really believe that they care.If you do want a meal that is not on the menu,ask them and they will make it.I do like visiting different restaurants just for a change but my wife wont have it so when lockdown 1 ended she booked us in every week for six months.

No wonder this restaurant is number one in South Shields. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for a curry and believe me I have had more than my share in the past 50 years . Shah the owner / director is so welcoming and his staff are brilliant, but the crowning glory is the food . Top notch. Miss being able to sit in to enjoy the delicious curry’s but they still offer same high standards in delivery .. well done Delhi 6

Amazing takeaway service ever since the first lockdown, quality never anything less than exceptional and couldn’t ask for more. Price is more than reasonable too.

I ordered a takeaway from here on 11/12. The food is delicious and it was also piping hot.I wanted it for 19:30 so asked for it to be delivered for 19:00. I was given a delivery slot for 19:00-19:15, it arrived at 19:25. So was spot on for me! Well done Delhi 6 keep going. Stay safe all of you x

Fantastic meal again delivered on time and piping hot. The tastiest curry in South Shields and thoroughly recommend the Lamb Chilli Garlic and the Waga Naga dipping sauce is literally sublime!!!! Everyone needs a little bit of Delhi 6 this Christmas 🥰

Like most people, our dining out opportunities have been few and far between this year, but the takeaway we had from Dehli 6 brought restaurant quality food into our home. We can't wait to visit in person

I have been to many different indian restaurants & takeaways over the years. A few of my family had been to the restaurant for meals quite a lot and spoke very highly on the incredible food and service..so I decided to give it a try. I can honestly say I now know why! the food is absolutley delicious and the service was amazing. I have recommended it to a few of my friends some who have tried it and said the same. I would definitely recommend this restaurant fabulous.

Picked up our takeaway on Saturday evening.i opted for the Bengal Murgi ( after a recommendation from our daughter. My wife went for the Railway curry. Both we’re absolutely great. It’s the first time I’ve had the Bengal murgi, Wow!! Depends what you are after. If it’s a madras or vindaloo, then no, if it’s a sweet, spicy, flavoursome sauce you are after, then this does the trick. My understanding, is that it is a dish cooked by the mother of the household and passed down to the daughters. A well kept delicious dish. Excellent..

This restaurant never lets you down. Had take away tonight due to the lockdown and I can honestly say the butter chicken is the best I have ever tasted. My daughter had the Manchurin Chicken and this was also superb. Best Indian in South Shields by a country mile.

A very enjoyable meal on a Saturday evening just before lockdown two was announced. The restaurant was well laid out for social distancing and the staff were friendly and thorough.The food too was really tasty. I had a fish dish to start. It was really enjoyable. My main of Lamb railway was also very nice. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her tikka massala too. It wasn’t the cheapest venue on Ocean Road, but it was very nice indeed. You don’t mind the little bit extra cost for something as tasty.

My husband and I ate at Dehli 6 last night and as usual the food was delicious. I had a king prawn dish with beautiful juicy prawns. The service was great and so was the food. Also had a lovely cocktail. Such a good restaurant with great, friendly staff.

My husband and I have visited Delhi 6 so many times. It is our favourite restaurant by far. We've never had a bad meal, every visit has been to the highest standard and the welcome we receive from staff and management make us feel like friends.The menu is a true delight and the flavour combinations are unlike anything I had had before. I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in South Shields. We are so fortunate to have this place just a few minutes drive away. Food is stunning no matter what I order I enjoy my meal! There is lots of choice on the menu and I have tried quite alot of the dishes.  I have visited the restaurant a few times and the staff are efficient, happy and polite. I absolutely love that they have a takeaway serves and I have ordered most weekends. I cannot order a curry from anywhere else as I have very high expectations after trying the curry from dehli 6. Following the current COVID-19 situation, we as a family used to visit another establishment along the "Shields Mile", not any longer as we have been taken back by the way you are treat from the Delhi6 team. Shah goes way and above to make sure you are comfortable and relaxed and explains how he is working through "different times" He is a credit to his restaurant and you don't feel like you are on a conveyor belt, like the others on Ocean Road! The lamb Railway is so tasty as well as the Manchurian! Oh and my daughter loved the mango lassi, that was a complimentary after her meal. Keep it up guys!

As people will know, I've visited Delhi 6, so many times, but tonight was part of their new tapas menu, all I can say is wow, it just gets better and better, the guys here never rest on their laurels, they always look for perfection, and tonight's menu was perfection, the service is second to none, extremely covid safe too, which at the minute is excellent, sanitiser and track and trace codes to scan, I could type superlatives all day, but it just has to be tried, a definite 5 star restaurantPhil

This place really is a hidden jewel in the crown of south Tyneside! I’ve been a few times now as me and my partner both love the food there, best Indians in the north east of England and very reasonably priced. Staff are extremely attentive and never let your glass stay empty of table stay quiet for too long. Also Covid secure and follows all restrictions, bravo Delhi6!

This has to be my absolute favourite Indian restaurant in South Shields!! It appears to me that Shah has taken every step possible to make his wonderful restaurant safe for his valued customers and we appreciate all of his hard work and dedication to both his customers and staff! The food is always fantastic! We generally treat ourselves (and make extra work for the kitchen,*sorry(!)* by choosing all street food and small plates- every dish is absolutely mouthwatering! Do yourself a favour- Do not hesitate to enjoy this awesome experience!!

Came here for a family meal in February and cannot recommend this place enough food was amazing! So much choice well worth the money! Had deliveries from the restaurant during the lockdown too and cannot fault a single thing. Amazing!!

So I haven't been here for a long time and after last night I don't know why! The staff are amazing! So friendly and helpful especially since I live a keto lifestyle and wanted to know what was inside things. They were more than happy with helping with special diets. They were so friendly. The food was to die for! omg Gunpowder chicken! I've never heard of it! but if you haven't tried it then you need too! Best starter ive ever tasted. I then got the mixed grill which was MASSIVE prawns, sheek kebab chicken tikka, salad, side sauces my friend got a mild chicken curry with rice and she said it was the best she's tasted. I also got a side of saag paneer and omg it was lush. I will definitely be going back and I will definitely be using them for takeaway too

1st visit last night and i can honestly say the food is exceptional.Huge choice of dishes which in most indian restaurants ive never seen.Tried the Gunpowder chicken starter which was awesome followed by a hot curry(can't remember the name ) but never had something as tasty.Staff spot on and good quality red wine.( drank 2 bottles).Will definately be back.

The staff are lovely and friendly, the restaurant itself is immaculately clean and the food is exemplary. I have been here multiple times and it never fails. The only place to go for good quality food and drinks. Perfect for small and large groups!

Since Delhi 6 opened it has fast become my favourite restaurant to visit, not just in South Shields but overall.With stunning food which leaves you longing for your next visit, swift and friendly service, and an unbeatable ambience, there really is very little not to like.Personal favourite dishes include Chicken 65 (try it if you haven't yet: you'll never look back!) and chicken chaat for starters, and for the main course I simply can't look past the delicious Bombay chilli chicken. I also highly recommend the chicken manchurian and jalfrezi, although there isn't a meal I wouldn't recommend as I haven't had a bad one yet.The lockdown obviously brought with it huge challenges for restaurants but Delhi 6 rose to them magnificently, delivering 1,000 free meals to the most vulnerable in our community, and expanding its service to include a delivery option. Booking either deliveries or table reservations via WhatsApp could not be simpler and Shah, the owner, is always happy to offer advice on dishes and helped me discover some which I previously would not have contemplated trying.Since lockdown was eased and the restaurant has been able to open again, we have been almost every week and have not had a bad experience yet. It's a fully safe environment, you are treated brilliantly, and you leave in the certain knowledge that you'll not be able to resist going back the following week.I'd thoroughly recommend Delhi 6 to anyone who has not been yet. You're missing out, trust me!

Often go here to eat in the restaurant and the food is always of the highest quality. Decided to go for a takeaway Saturday night and was not disappointed staff extremely friendly and without shadow of a doubt the best takeaway food you will get on Ocean Road. Other restaurants may claim to be the best but you haven't had the best until you have had Delhi 6. Keep up the great work

Amazing staff and lovely food. The best curry we have ever eaten that is why we only choose Dehli 6 for our meals out or meals in!

We went for a date night meal on Saturday at the restaurant, the food was just amazing, every time I eat here I try a different dish, I could stick with my favourite and be very happy, but hey if you don’t try something new you may miss something even better! (I was that excited I only took a picture of my starter which was chicken pakora, I had the mixed grill this time for main which was to die for) As always the setting was amazing, plenty of space, plenty of customers but not that many that you felt unsafe. Shah and the team are just brilliant at making you feel safe and relaxed whilst you dine with them. There has been a terrible review posted by someone, please do not believe this toxic rubbish, the amount of returning customers to this restaurant both as eat in or takeaway are a testimony to what this team does. The support they put back into our town during the lockdown was brilliant, they deserve every praise, I feel like family when I visit and to date have never had a bad meal. Thank you guys so much, your dad would be so proud of the work you have done and continue to do.

I dont know how this beautiful place isn't number 1!!! Had lots of delicious deliveries over lockdown from Delhi 6, every single time they have been beautiful meals. My favourite is the chicken madras & rice street box and the naan breads are amazing! The waga dip ! A must try. Anyway I have never experienced customer service like what Shah gives. Outstanding manners, always asks how your food was and genuinely cares if you enjoyed or not. I will always support this beautiful place and takeaways are always from here.

This restaurant makes the best curry ever. I have tried quite a few and I can't fault Dehli 6. Great customer service and they have been amazing during Covid. This is my go to restaurant.

What a place. All the things I've heard that this restaurant has done to provide meals to elderly people during Covid. I finally got a chance to try this restaurant but as a delivery and I can't believe it's taken us this long to try. Absolutely beautiful food. Looking forward to our next curry night.

This is the best curry house in town! The service is excellent. The restaurant is very clean, the food is beautiful, we wouldn’t go anywhere else anar neither should you.

Still haven’t found a better restaurant, Indian food or otherwise. Such a welcoming group of staff, unbelievable food (chicken 65 and Manchurian chicken would be my favourites) and just a fantastic experience as it always is. There’s a reason this is the busiest Indian on ocean road, just take a wander along on a weekend and you’ll see the queue for Dehli 6.

Discovered Dehli 6 during lockdown & had at least 1 meal a week from them since. Takeaway & in the restaurant. Outstanding food & service every time & they’re so safe with everything socially distanced and Uber clean. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Visited Delhi6 on Thursday evening with family. The restaurant owner was warm and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The staff were friendly and attentive. The service was faultless. Great care was taken to stick to government rules. The food was delicious and unique to Delhi6. A personal favourite of mine is the vegetable biryani. The general ambiance of the restaurant is warm and cosy with music playing in the background. Not too obtrusive so that we could talk and enjoy each other's company. We regularly enjoy home delivered take aways form the restaurant and the food is always top quality. We hope that in these uncertain times that the restaurant continues to flourish. As a resident of South Shields, I’ve had my fair share of curries. Discovering a new menu, with interesting twists and new dishes, was a lovely treat. Even the mild dishes had a kick beyond a ‘normal’ curry. Lovely decor. Wonderful service. Little pricier than the rest of Ocean Rd but with good reason. Enjoy.

Me and my friend visited in august after hearing a lot of good things about the restaurant. Food was lovely and all the staff were really friendly. Would definately visit again. Love your bhuna prawn puri 😋 thinking about it is making me hungry.

Been here a few times, first time for my hubby. Such a quaint, cosy setting and the staff are the most genuine, friendly people you could meet. We had amazing food, so tasty and authentic ( we didn't finish, as so much) from start to finish, it was a lovely experience.... when you find a hidden gem you stick with it!! Can't wait to go back. Quality food, atmosphere and customer service.

We visited tonight and the food and service was outstanding. From the starters to the main course.. The quality and taste was amazing. The menu is great with a varied selection and very authentic. We will be back to try the rest of the menu!!

Myself and my partner have visited Delhi 6 twice in the past year and both times were fabulous! Food was beautiful and love the street food idea, never had a bad experience. Have also had a takeaway from here and was delicious! Restaurant lovely and different inside which sets it apart from a lot of normal Indian restaurants. Staff very attentive, great place. Will be back. ❤️

Tonight we tried a takeaway from Delhi 6. We have eaten there on a number of occasions and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service but we thought we would try a takeaway. We ordered the meal from the normal menu on Friday afternoon for delivery on Saturday.We ordered using WhatsApp. On Saturday we got a WhatsApp request for payment and we used online banking to pay for the meal and send a WhatsApp confirmation to show payment had been made. It is so easy fo an old codger like me. The meal arrived 10 minutes before the expected time. The quality of the meal was first class. In times like this if you don’t want to go out try the Delhi6 takeaway service. It is so easy and you won’t be disappointed. We will be going back to try the new menu but we will also keep using the takeaway service as well. This restaurant has to be the best on Ocean road. You will notice that other restaurants are now copying the concept of street food as Delhi6 do it so well. Keep up the good work Shah and the team. Imitation proves you are doing it right.

It was our 7th Wedding Anniversary last Saturday so we got a delivery to enjoy in the house it was outstanding. This is my favourite restaurant and it has never let me down. I have also dined in before. We also ordered in, for mine and my Husbands birthdays during lockdown and it made it special since we couldn’t get out. The staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming. As a business they have done amazing throughout these tough times. So I just want to say a big thank you to Delhi 6 and it’s amazing staff. We stay loyal to you.

This became a firm favourite since it’s opened . The food is always delicious and the service is great . I recently visited for the first time since the Coronavirus began . I’m not going to lie I was a bit anxious but when I arrived I was politely asked to use the hand sanitizer before being seated . I was also impressed at the Perspex sheets that were hanging to separate each table . It put me at ease and I enjoyed the night because as always fab food and lovely staff .

We visited Delhi 6 during a period where restrictions were in place due to COVID-19. Apprehensive upon entering but immediately made to feel welcome and safe by staff. Screens between tables and sanitiser available across the restaurant. The food was amazing (as always!). My onion bhaji starter was light and tasty and my husband ordered lamb chops which were lip smackingly delicious! King Prawn Goa was filled with prawns and too big a serving for me. My husband ordered a Chicken dish and both curries were so fresh tasting. After our meals, speaking to Shah we learnt the restaurant was using a new curry base which is why the flavour was so fresh and punchy! Lovely evening, big thanks to the staff for making us feel “normal” again for a short time. We will be back!!

Was in the area and decided to visit following a friend’s review. So pleased we did. Felt very reassured re COVID precautions. Food and service was brilliant.

My daughters and I had a takeaway from delhi 6 last night. The whole process from ordering to delivery was efficient and seamless including payment. The dishes were delivered hot and fresh with so much flavour every bite was delicious. Three empty plates later thankyou delhi 6!!We have also dined in at this restaurant during the covid 19 pandemic and always felt welcomed and safe. All restrictions are strictly adhered to whilst maintaining that feeling of a family. Thankyou we will obviously be back!!

This was my 2nd visit to Delhi 6, both during the Covid 19 situation and their level of hygiene and organisation to make patrons feel safe was brilliant. All staff very friendly and always made us feel we were the most important people in the restaurant and nothing was of any trouble. Food piping hot and fresh flavours shone through. I’ve tried other Indian restaurants along Ocean Road and Delhi 6 is by far the best there is.

Can’t recommend this place enough. Shah is one of the best restaurant owners I’ve came across, he is so accommodating and attentive to his customers. He welcomes you in as if it’s his home. The food is amazing. Whether it’s siting in the restaurant or takeaway, the standard and quality is very high and actually the same. Some restaurants that offer takeaway leave you disappointed but not here! The king prawn goa is one of my favourite dishes, it’s the right amount of heat and flavour. The naga sauce that comes on the pickle tray is just so Moreish... it’s spicy, cool and flavoursome too. Keep up the good work of keeping South Tyneside feed with truly authentic Indian food! Oh and they also donated and delivered free curries to the elderly during the great lockdown for 2020, now if that’s not a community entrepreneur what is?

Visited Delhi 6 last night and the food was amazing. Have been to this restaurant a few times but not since Covid 19. The restaurant is small but I could see some tables had been removed to make social distancing easier. I had a lovely evening and will definitely be going back.
