Haven't tried the food yet, but the welcome is a warm and friendly, lovely social atmosphere with pool table darts and very cold, wonderfully tasting beer (after all, it is a pub 😀). Not to mention a lovely view of the sea through a short walk through a side turning. 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Extremely difficult to review something you never received. Booked a table for 6 people, arrived and totally ignored. After an age of waiting were eventually informed that they had gone home early. The staff of the golf club were miserable and unhelpful and the people inside looked at us like we had just fallen off someone's shoe. The comments made by some members seated outside on our leaving, who informed us that they are useless....says it all really.

Great place to visit so much to see and do. For those who love long walks, they will enjoy. The house has plenty of stairs, so be aware if mobility is an issue. I used my mobility scooter to get from the car park to the house and then to the visitor centre for some lunch with a wonder round the gift shop. With the cost of entry and food it can be expensive but the food is excellent quality. All the staff are welcoming, friendly, and ready to answer any questions.

We stopped here for lunch, what a find. We sat outside and what a beautiful view this place has. It's so worth the visit to just look out to the sea. Food was very nice, I would highly recommend. The inside looked lovely and the toilets were clean. Most importantly it was dog friendly.

Such a cozy, wonderful place to eat. My other half and I went on a last minute Sunday dinner date here and it was such a great experience. Honestly, some of the best seafood and crab I’ve had in my 33 years on earth. The local gin we had was great too. Phenomenal service as well. 10000/10

Had a fantastic stay at the Victoria hotel over the weekend. We stayed in room 41 a superior delux and it was lovely. Light, spacious, beautifully decorated and spotless! The staff were very helpful when we arrived and checked in. The bar staff were really friendly when we went down for a few drinks in the evening and despite how busy it was we managed to get a table and the atmosphere was great. The breakfast was very nice, a continental buffet and variety of cooked breakfasts on the menu. The hotel also offer a free and secure car park just down the road which is always a plus. I can highly recommend this hotel and say with confidence that we will be returning. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Portions are sometimes huge, see the seafood risotto for example with a lot of mussels too However flavour was generally lacking, if harmonious cos of how mild it was. Texture of risotto and pasta are almost a pass. Not the most authentic but overall it's passable for UK standards

I visited the hotel only for a night due to a meeting I had to attend the following day in the town. The location of the hotel was perfect just opposite the train station and the person at the reception was very friendly. As I arrived just before 9 pm I questioned if the restaurant was still open in order to have some dinner but they informed me that restaurant closed at 19.30?! I thought it is too early and I had never experienced it in any other hotel. Once I joined the room there was a funny smell coming out from the bathroom and the room was super cold even though the heating was slightly on. Especially inside the bathroom I was freezing so I had to take a shower very quickly and jump inside the bed in order to warm up myself which isn’t very relaxing after hours of travelling. Lastly the following day even though my company’s reservation was breakfast included, in the morning I had been given the choice of complimentary breakfast only which was very very limited. Not even to mention that the check out was 10 am and the cleaners were speaking loudly outside of my room since 9 am stressing me out while just 5 minutes before 10 am I heard them saying “come on people 10 am is the checking out time” which I can definitely say it is not the way any hotel should perform. Overall it was a disappointing visit and I would never come back.

Its a shame the pub isn't open at lunchtime, but the owner did explain he can't get the staff or chefs. The area desperately needs a pub open at lunchtime, even although 1st Nov is considered "out of season" (the three surrounding caravan parks were all still busy). Very friendly owner, good beer, didn't sample the food in the evening. There aren't really any "cosy nooks" - it seems arranged for busy summer meal times. Dog friendly too.
