Terrible service. Waited over half an hour for a cake and a plate of soup. Cake arrived after chasing for it and at same time we were promised soup would be with us imminently. It didn’t arrive and we left without it being delivered to our table. Staff unpleasant. Came out of our way to come here. Very disappointing.

Fantastic campsite with views out to Lindasfarne. Not cheap but the view is worth it. We thought the restaurant wasn't open on an evening but it was, so worth checking, we had a fantastic meal in there, highly recommended. This is a working farm, so expect machinery noise early on a morning, and if they are working on the fields directly next to the campsite, expect dust too. But dont let that put you off, its great. No real noise, probably the quietest campsite we have been on. Highly recommended

When we arrived there was a sign outside saying wait here to be seated. No staff appeared so we went inside and sat down. After a while I went to the counter where a male staff member said go back to your table and a waitress will take your order. We waited and waited so I went back to the counter. I was told they were busy - there were 3 staff standing around having a chat and only3 tables occupied(not busy). We waited again, eventually a waitress came and took our order. Because of the wait we decided to only have 5 cups of tea and 1 cup of hot water. Another wait, meanwhile 3 female staff members seemed to be doing nothing. Finally the tea came, they got it wrong 3 times before 3 members of staff were at our table trying to understand what we wanted. They seemed to have difficulty understanding 5 cups of tea and 1 cup of hot water. We would not recommend it and will never go there again. Very poor service for £17.50.

What a fantastic campsite, Excellent location, in stunning countryside overlooking the causeway to Holy Island. It was so peaceful with all the amenities that you could need, immaculately clean toilet & shower blocks. The food at the café was a pleasant change to cooking in the van. Visited on a Sunday morning, arriving about 1030. We were found a table quickly. After being warned that there would be a delay in taking our order, which we accepted, they finally took it 30 minutes later, well after others who had arrived after us. They then got our coffee order wrong and our breakfast arrived without the stated content (no hash browns and a very standard sausage). All in all a very disappointing experience.

Another fantastic stay – we just keep coming back! We absolutely loved our stay – again! This place continues to impress us with its warm, friendly atmosphere and excellent facilities. The staff are incredibly helpful, always going above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable and well looked after. The toilets and showers are spotless – really clean and well-maintained. We also ate at the on-site restaurant for dinner and breakfast, and the food was amazing. A huge bonus for me was the great gluten-free options, including delicious GF cakes and a choice of soya, almond, and oat milk. Such a thoughtful touch! One of our favourite parts of the stay? Being greeted every morning by Milo the dog – such a sweet pup and a lovely addition to the experience. The views from both the campsite and the restaurant are absolutely spectacular. We enjoyed a scenic walk down to the beach right from the campground – perfect for stretching your legs and soaking in the beauty of the area. We’ve stayed here before and were more than happy to book again. There’s a real sense of community and friendliness that keeps drawing us back. We also took a trip to Holy Island – highly recommended if you’re a fan of LJ Ross’s DCI Ryan books. There’s so much to explore and enjoy. All in all, a fantastic stay – we can’t wait to return!

Grass between each pitch, so didn't feel cramped. Both ladies & gents toilets clean as well as lovely and warm, with plenty of hot water, soap. Didn't use showers, but hubbie had a peep in and they were clean and warm too. Price ok for facilities and time of year (school East holidays). Restaurant food delicious (although note, not pub grub or prices). Great Timothy Taylor beer and tasty wine. Staff attentive. We have a motorhome on stayed on a hardstanding pitch with EHU. Never have we stayed on a pitch that was 100% level. The shower block was absolutely spotless and was like showering at home...the cubicles were large and with somewhere to keep your clothes dry. Lovely hot water too.. The toilet block was a separate building to the showers which is a fab idea. We didn't eat at the cafe but we did have a coffee. The staff were lovely and very welcoming... The cafe is dog friendly which is a super 👌 we have a Jack Russell. We met Milo the cafes Jack Russell who is absolutely gorgeous... Would we stay at the Barn at Beal again ?? 100% Absolutely...

We were staying at a hotel where we were having dinner so only wanted a sandwich or soup. It's changed hands since our 1st visit but we have been a few times since. We had cake, mine the caramel shortbread & hubby had the border tart. My shortbread had a strange tasting base but I loved the caramel. It seems to have lost its atmosphere and it is expensive. We booked a two night stay here for our motorhome. Easy enough to find. Our pitch was level and had a great view, as do most pitches here. Quiet at night, facilities clean. I never used the shower but my wife used the ladies showers and was very impressed with them. I had a quick look at the men’s and they seemed fine. There were two fresh water taps. One had a section of hose clamped on which I’m not really a fan of as the end of the hose could have been anywhere and will inevitably end up on the ground. It can be unscrewed easily enough though. It's very dark so bring a torch. An open chemical disposal point is right next to one of the pitches. Not sure if smell would be an issue but I wouldn't be staying beside it. At least build a little fence around it if it has to go there. The site is overpriced at nearly £40 per night off season but has great views, it's quiet, it's clean and it’s a good base to explore Holy Island, Berwick upon Tweed and Alnwick. We arranged for a takeaway from the Barn at Beal restaurant for one of our nights and the price and quality were really lacking. Over £15 per fish and chips and a close second in the worst fish and chips we have had. The batter was barely cooked and the chips tasted like oven chips. I’m pretty easily pleased but struggled with this. The dogs had no such issue though. I won’t return to the restaurant but may visit the campsite again at some point down the line.

Beautiful surroundings, staff friendly, food disappointing. Phoned 24hrs before booking, was assured that pub and restaurant would be open, however on arrival we were told that the pub and restaurant were open..We arrived for booking in time @3pm..pitched up, walked dogs, showered, changed, walked the extremely short distance to the drinks and food establishment to find it closed...hhmm. Well that was some wrong communication between staff and paying customers for the park. Not a complete game changer, as the next day there was a pheasant shoot! We were not informed of this at time of booking. Probably not a big deal to some customers but customers with dogs, the staff really should have informed us, so we could have had the option to book without the gun shots going off extremely close to the park, which in many cases including our own, makes the dogs extremely uncomfortable, shaking, and inturn made our decision to pack up and leave that very same day. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication. Place is beautiful, but when you are a paying customer, then surely it would be courteous to inform us of events taking place for us then to decide whether or not we book with your holiday park during the pheasant shootings.

The shop is nice and has lovely gifts. We did try to have an afternoon drink at the Bothy to enjoy the fire as it was a cold day today but the time we were told the bar was opening was incorrect and we stood In the freezing cold hail stones outside while the staff were inside even though the bar was meant to open at 4 ( stated on the door) We gave up and went back to van feeling disappointed and cold. We just wanted to experience the cosy bar fire and a beer as all the camps we stay at don't have these facilities . We could have come back , but after being made to stand out in the cold , we didn't bother. Stopped in for the food, which was excellent all around and worth the price. Sadly however, a member of our party had an allergy and was made physically very sick and felt their throat closing slightly less than half an hour after eating here, due to what can only be cross contamination, as their allergy is fish and they ordered a vegan meal for safety after informing staff of their allergy. We never have issue eating fish at the same table, which we did on this occasion and other nights on our trip with no problems, so the issue can only be contamination of the vegan dish in the cooking of it. It's a real shame, as we all agreed the food was delicious and would happily rate 5 stars and stop again, but this sadly sullied our experience. I tried to privately address this issue on their behalf, but my email hasn't had a response, so thought I'd leave a public review to warn people of the risks and to be extra careful if dining here with an allergy.

No one from the site came to see us on arrival (pitch.h09,)we could have been anyone parking up , during the whole stay we saw no one from the barn campsite . That to me is a big let down in politeness of the whole site We witnessed nearly every person staying on site , pouring their grey waste down the elson point ONLY.. this should be addressed ,and clearly stated ,as it is not clear that it is not ONLY drive over grey waste but can empty all grey waste containers . Plus point .. brilliant stay really

Excellent vibe and place , but fish was extremely overdone and not nice at all. Filled up on the peas and chips. Nice tartare sauce though. Wouldn't recommend the fish and chips but would recommend the view.

The food in the restaurant was good. The service was terrible. Is there even a manager working here? 'Not my job' seems to be the way they operate. Uncoordinated and poorly trained staff are let down by a complete lack of leadership or direction.

Great location, lovely facilities, cafe is a really attractive barn conversion. The food and drinks were really nice and if my review was limited to the above it would be 4 or 5 stars. The service is terrible. We were seated after waiting 10 minutes outside and it took 25 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order. It is busy but there are more than enough waitresses. Apparently they did not record us on the system when we arrived. I would believe but for the face the same thing happened on the table next to us. Please organise your table service.

Location is amazing and great toilets. Food and drink poor, service slow, waiting ages to be seated in an empty restaurant. Scones supposed to be fruit scones but had nuts in them. This was not clear for anyone with a nut allergy. Waitress did not bring the right number of cups for four teas, which took 3 attempts to get right. Never going back as very expensive and disappointing experience.

An absolute gem of a campsite. Fantastic quality facilities and the best views over to Lindisfarne. The cafe for breakfast was amazing. Highly recommended. We will definitely return.

I've done a lot of different campsite holidays and this was by far the best. Beautiful location, really large camping pitches. Modern, clean and accessible showers and bathrooms. Lovely little coffee shop/restaurant and friendly staff. Honestly a brilliant experience!

Well what can I say about this place! I had been wanting to try it for a while, never again!! We arrived with our 2 dogs and as we walked onto the outside area they were 2 billboards both saying to wait at them to be seated. We waited for at least 5 mins, nobody came to us so I went inside while my partner still waited at the billboards with the dogs. As I entered I was asked if I had been seated as they operate table service system. I said I had not been seated and was asked to go and wait and somebody would come and seat us straight away. So once again we waited and waited while other people just walked past us. At this point I also have to mention that the establishment was not busy and a waitress was clearing outside tables and seen us waiting. After 15 minutes of waiting we gave up and left and never to return.

Beautiful views but terrible, v expensive food. I had the (dry) roasted pork sandwich which tasted like it had come from a packet for £15 and my husband had the fish finger sandwich which was tasteless and small. Once he’d added a v small bowl of chips it was £15.50. Hopefully management looks into this and either reviews it’s prices or the quality of food- somethings got to give!

A very well run campsite. Clean facilities great showers and in handy location for exploring the area. The on site cafe / restaurant is great , we did not use the adjacent bar on this occasion. Top tip. No shop on site so just plan ahead when out and about this stunning area. Local garage on A1 has essentials .

Had lunch here with my son's family, meals came out at different times, had to get cutlery ourselves, I had to chase my meal after waiting. Very poor service, staff need to get organised.

Food was nice, best bread/toast ive had in a while. Breakfast for two with coffee was expensive at £38. Nice scenery and friendly staff. Campsite better as a stop over as it mainly consists of a stone yard with sections to park.

Great hotel on the high street in beautiful Bamburgh. The room was huge, and windows overlooked the outside seating area but, was very quiet by 10pm on the Sunday evening. The bed was so comfy, and we had a good night's sleep. The bathroom with a good sized walk in shower was spotless. We had breakfast on Monday, and the staff were so attentive, and the food was delicious. A good choice of cereals fruit, pastries and yoghurt etc and a very good cooked breakfast menu too. We enjoyed our short stay but would go back and we recommend this hotel.

Lovely little venue. Breakfast was awful. Sausages were obviously yesterday's and cooked again. Burnt and hollow. Very disappointed

We hadn’t visited the Panahar for years and were going to get takeaway but decided to eat in and we weren’t disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were the icing on the cake as they were attentive and friendly. It might have been a while but I definitely won’t be leaving it as long for my next visit.

The food was impeccable! Incredibly tasty with very good service. The decor was beautiful and so was the views and the food. We were at in a corner table which really did feel like the best seat in the house. The food arrived quickly and promptly, including any extras such as drinks and sides. The seafood was so fresh and cooked to perfection, In our party we had two lobsters, muscles (which were the largest I'd ever eaten!), Hake and king prawns. All was to die for. Was certainly an expensive meal, but I didn't feel short changed at all! Would come back if we ever got the chance - make sure to book as it's a very busy place, you can tell they've really cracked the service and food. Thank you for a wonderful evening on our last evening of our holiday!
