Friendly little hidden gem. Good selection of beers and good knowledge of train times! The latter doubtless acquired through time. Worth making time for a visit especially if travelling by train anyway.

This is an exceptional restaurant serving great food in a comfortable setting. The knowledge, skills and enthusiasm of the owners and their staff were first class. A hidden gem!

I took my ill father suspected of having a stroke to Hexham General Hospital. Upon arrival he was asked to sit down in the reception area where there was no information or compassion offered by the receptionist despite the serious nature of our visit. The receptionist began asking my father questions but due to his condition he was suffering from memory loss, confusion, fear, disassociation and disorientation. Despite this she insisted on confirming information which made the situation even more distressing. As his condition worsened I asked for an update only to receive a cold and unhelpful response. After a long wait we were finally seen by a nurse practitioner who instructed me to take my father to the A&E in Newcastle 22.3 miles away. After further persistence I was eventually given a medical letter for a quicker referral to the RVI Stroke Team. This letter allowed my father to be admitted more promptly to the A&E at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. It seems ridiculous that my father was hampered by an outdated system prioritising the collection of correct data over providing immediate medical assistance in such a critical situation. While I am grateful for the final referral the lack of communication, urgency and empathy during our time at Hexham Hospital was extremely disappointing and concerning. I hope they can improve their patient care and communication as this experience was not what I expected from a hospital when dealing with a potentially life-threatening situation. 1 star given instead of 0 due to the referral letter.

Excellent service and delicious menu with savouries and desserts to suit even the most discerning pallette. Highly recommend for both lunchtime and evening casual dining.

What a little gem. Such friendly and accommodating staff, proper coffee, fresh proper food which is different to all the other local offerings. Refreshingly modern in our quaint market town. I do a regular community meet here and the staff are so wonderful. They put on wonderful and varied in house events too. There’s a lovely enclosed garden to enjoy in good weather, or safely park your pram or bike. Best dirty chai about!

Ordered takeaway from here and collected it. Very nice food. We had the chicken Kiev pizza and meatball pasta. Very tasty.

Lovely place to eat, lovely staff, best fish bar in Hexham by far! I came here yesterday and ordered my family a meal each, and wow it was filling. I personally ordered a jumbo cod and chips and some homemade curry sauce and it was excellent.

First time in tonight for my birthday. Food was amazing staff were great cant wait to come back.

Had my husbands birthday meal here , the food and service was absolutely outstanding, chef Khalid came out to talk to us about the dishes Cheti ,Mash and khalid are what customer service and experience are all about their attention to detail and the customer is just superb , food was outstanding the lamb chops sublime, perfect tasty mushroom rice ,garlic naan to die for with chetinad chicken , nawabi lamb posanda was superb just the best curry house and food experience

I called her on the way back from a solo hike with my dog, I had the most delicious egg and bacon sandwich, a very big sandwich but the food was quality food, the service was friendly and speedy. I took a biscoff cheesecake away with me and it was amazing. Lovely little cafe I can’t recommend enough. Great prices too.
