The best restaurants in Berwick North Northumberland North East

We've just been to the Greggs at Marygate and we were served by the most lovely, welcoming and experienced staff ever, Anne went far and beyond what could ever have anticipated and we will certainly be back again and again. Cheers for great time at Greggs ❤️

I was looking forward to going to this pub on September 7, 2024, so I booked an accommodation nearby, but unfortunately it was closed.

Top food, top service and great value for money.

Decided to go to the Magna for a birthday meal with the wife. We were greeted warmly by Suleman, and shown to our seats. After ordering a large red wine and a pint of cobra, suleman asked about our order. On asking for recommendations suleman suggested the chicken bhuna, which I said I would try. After the poppadoms and dips as a starter , the main arrived and was exceptional… a great recommendation, which was throughly enjoyed with mushroom pilau and a keema nan bread and Bombay potatoes. The wife had a chicken makkhani, which was suggested on a previous visit and is now her favourite dish. Always great service and food with a personal touch. Highly recommend this fine cuisine.

Great stay at The Castle Hotel. We stayed for one night with our dog and we felt right at home. Service was quick and efficient, rooms were spotless and modern, and staff were lovely. Literally right across the road from the station and the beach is only a short walk away too. We had a continental breakfast included in our stay the next morning too. We will absolutely be back! Thanks so much 🫶

Local pub for local people. Pop in for first drink in Berwick. Nice atmosphere though. Full display of Rangers FC in every corner. Good service and good selection of cask beer.

We went while staying a few nights. Had 2 Pensioners specials, plenty big enough and exalent quality. Pleasent staff. Thanks

Great place with a wonderful view of the river. The hot chocolate was the best tasted in Berwick. The pastries were delicious and the lady who owned the place was extremely friendly. Thank you The Lookout.

Early booking so quiet, food good and service good, not much atmosphere but we went to dine.

Poor menu, dreadful service. The wait staff weren't interested. Waited an hour for our food. My scampi was soggy and had evidently been left out for a long time. Would not go back, even of the place wasn't permanently closed

Friendly pub. Wine was a good price. We watched the football match, good atmosphere. It was quiet when we were there bit it is often very busy. Some of wooden bench seats uncomfortable.

Called in for quick lunch, despite bieng nearly empty service was dreadful, tables not clean, staff were too busy chatting about themselves to bother with customers ! Had a toastie which was very average and they forgot my coffee! Shame as its a very cool space which could be a great venue.

Always attentive staff, one of the only places you can get Soa milk if you are celiac, lots of places now only offer glutenous oat milks. A little tired, needs a make over for 2025.
