Ordered two things and took half an hour with only one other table in. Cutlery was dirty. Hot chocolate had no foam and was excruciatingly hot as if I got third degree burns on my tongue hot. Disgusting brownie was so dry and hard to eat. Supposed to be raspberry but didn’t have much raspberry. Servers were very rude and had a scowl on their face. Not impressed wouldn’t come again, but extra points for the cute atmosphere. Hot chocolate had clumps of mix at the bottom!

What an absolute pleasure it was to discover this gem of a cafe. The two ladies there made us really welcome, the coffee is to die for and the cakes were delicious and plentiful. Next time we go for a stroll along the battlements, The Lookout Cafe will definatley be on our route for a snack break.

We visited the Lookout on our walk around Berwick. What a hidden gem! We had a latte and sandwiches , Both were delicious 😋 Excellent service and although we couldn’t take our dog in, the lovely lady sat us just inside the tunnel of the castle wall as it had started to rain. The cakes looked fantastic, but we were too full from our sandwiches to test them. I would highly recommend

Amazing setting at the end of 400 year old Bridge on the banks of the River Tweed. Indoor and outdoor seating, toilets. Wide range of home cooked food individually prepared by caterer owner Ruth….quiche, seafood salad, vegetarian options, wonderful soups including best Cullen skink ever, mouth watering tray bakes, wine, soft drinks, teas and different coffees. Lovely friendly staff. Used as film set for The Outlaw King.

Superb find, stopped for coffee and cake and it was lovely. Limited seating, with dome outside mainly taken with dog owners, some more seating inside up steep stairs. Service was friendly and a small selection of cakes and also lite bites. Cake and coffee were all superb quality and tasty. We had Malteser cake, Mars crunch and wonderful carrot cake. Good view over the river and parking close by. Would definitely go again.

After thirty years of prayer, we can finally eat seafood on Berwick’s quayside. The Lookout Cafe at the Berwick end of the 400 year old bridge has reopened under new ownership in recent months, with indoor and outdoor tables. Open 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, caterer Ruth and her team are offering soups including seafood chowder, quiche, crayfish or crab salads and a wide range of sandwiches and home made tray bakes, coffees, teas, soft drinks and wine…what an experience, seated on the Elizabethan Quayside, enjoying crayfish salad with a glass of wine beside the famous River Tweed.

VERY Disappointing! Save your legs a walk and go to Lowry's, just a 100 yards away. I thought I'd support this small cafe and chose a Ciabatta with Southern Fried chicken. BIG mistake! Cheapest possible chicken, flat, dry and tasteless - even something from Lidl would have been better. No salad garnish, just some cheap coleslaw and a few crisps - and all for £8.50. If I hadn't skipped breakfast I would have left it. Mentioned how poor it was when paying but no apology or partial refund. Well - why bother with a steady supply of tourists to milk? I was going to have a scone and jam but decided to spend my money elsewhere. So I walked along to Lowry's at the Chandlery (100 yards) where the menu was 3x larger and enjoyed a pot of tea and lovely jam scone. I know which one I'll visit next time - so be warned!!

Recently had a snack lunch in this riverside cafe. Was lucky enough to get one of the outdoor tables. Appears to be a popular place and the scones sounded great however they quickly sold out and we were told another batch was being made. We opted for a cheese and pickle sandwich was fine and a tuna panini. All the tables quickly filled up and there were people sitting on the walls too. I felt sorry for the poor staff who were clearly overwhelmed and/or perhaps under staffed as there was a lengthy wait to pay and some folks seemed to wait a very long time for their orders. Would recommend visiting early and you might even get one of those scones.

Just stopped for coffee and scones on our first trip to Berwick and couldn’t have picked a better place to do so. Let’s start with the welcome for us and our dog. We were sat outside overlooking the river and bridges and were welcomed warmly and provided with menus and importantly tracing details to fill out. Our dog Sam was met with biscuits and water so was happy. We ordered coffees, a fruit scone and a cheese scone. The coffee is from a local organic provider and was smooth and made well. The scones are homemade and delicious. As an aficionado of the cheese scone this was the beat I have ever eaten and with the red onion relish a real treat. Amazing home-made hot lentil soup with choice of sandwiches including ham & cheese, fruit scone with butter and jam, pot of tea or coffee £7.50 each with 50p extra for clotted cream. Other lunchtime meal deal available for £7.50 was bacon bap with scone & hot coffee or pot of tea. Well cooked and well presented. Soup was particularly good so we asked for the recipe and our lovely waitress told us her “secret” ingredients which we will try to replicate on our return home! 3 waitresses on duty were very polite and courteous. Table was clean. Menus were promptly brought to our table and food soon followed. Paid by debit card and we were on our way.We have read the last few reviews on here and totally disagree with what has been posted by a couple of “shocked “ diners. We are returning customers and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Berwick. Obviously we realise restrictions are been taken due to the pandemic but lots of customers going past the cake counter inside to use toilet, tables were also dirty with crumbs, would never go here again
