Had read some good reviews , however, this was not our experience, it was a busy Saturday evening but allowances were made for that. Food was served without cutlery, eventually got some put in the mean time food had cooled, my scampi was over cooked as were SOME of my chips, my partner had grey cabbage but otherwise the pie was acceptable. Waited 20mins for the bill to be bought before giving up and paying at the bar, had hoped for a desert but decided to leave without. Overall a disappointing visit on many levels.

The waiter told me the entire menu could be adapted to be gluten free. I was in disbelief. I asked him to check. Only two main course option were gf. Nothing cooked fresh. Son’s kids burger was undercooked and had to go back. His chips were rock solid. Ordered drinks that never came. Sadly won’t return.

I sat outside of The Craster Arms in the beer garden on a sunny Saturday. It had a pleasant vibe. The Aperol Spritz was not a good one but the colwas fine. Interestingly, the drinks menu at this pub lists Single Malts rather than Whiskies. However, blends including Monkey Shoulder are listed.

Very much looked forward to a typical Sunday lunch, with a couple of pints over the centre weekend of our holiday. Paid £34 for two lukewarm, at best, beef Sunday lunches. The beer garden is excellent, the beef Sunday lunch was tasty but tepid, so returned both meals. I was given a refund but the damage was done by then. Disappointing and spoiled our anticipated 'hot' Sunday afternoon lunch.

It was the 2nd time I have had a meal here. The service is very good, however the meals are disappointing. The chef needs to learn "Less is more" I ordered my main with sides. House slaw and onion rings. I must have got a full large bowl of house slaw. The onion rings were giant and loads of them. I was a solo and the house slaw and onion rings could of easily fed a family of four. A lot of food must go to waste as I could not eat all of it

I've eaten at The Craster Arms a few times and it's always good. We stopped off here last night for dinner and as always we weren't disappointed. My other half had the fish and chips, massive portion served with tartare sauce and mushy peas. I had the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce. It was perfectly cooked, served with mushroom, tomato and chips. Great food in a lovely setting and the service is always good.

Went for Sunday lunch with my wife to use a gift voucher we were given. Service was really good and they had a fair selection of draught beers notably a couple of real ales which are usually locally brewed. The main course arrived and what was on the plate was "OK" however, the side veg looked as if it had been cooked about 3 days ago and then reheated . It reminded me of school dinners, The other bad thing about the place is that you have to walk passed the TV where a crowd was watching the football and you could hear this throughout the whole place. Not what you want when you are trying to enjoy a relaxing meal. If they want a TV in the bar then surely that area should be separate from the dining area.

We landed here after a beach walk from Seahouses, hungry and fancying a wee pint. The service was so friendly and the food just delicious. I had fish n chips which was freshly battered, huge and delicious! Both meals knocked the last pub meal in Barnburgh out of the park and a few pounds cheaper per meal. The log burner and atmosphere were just perfect 🤩 Compliments to a chef who clearly cares about presentation and quality.

We’ve been parking here for a bit as we use the Salt Water cafe opposite, and this visit went into the pub for a Sunday lunch. The place was warm having two log burners and empty at 12.30, although soon filled up. The choices were beef or pork. I find it interesting that chicken isn’t on the menu here as well as other places in this part of the world. The menu told us it came with all the trimmings including Yorkshire pudding and seasonal veg, but also suggests looking at the sides. Our server was very good and explained that mash wasn’t on the plate, but was an extra. This boils my blood. It’s been part of a meal forever, yet now places charge you for it. However, my wife and I shared a portion. The meal itself arrived on warm plates, good portions, with four thickly cut slices of pork. No crackling mind. All was good, both my wife and I agreeing that it was a good meal but needed a bit of salt. Neither of us were drinking so had a water and a Coke. The bill came to £43. We’ll be back for something else on the menu.

Was staying nearby a couple of weeks back for family celebrations and visited here twice over the weekend. First day was for drinks in the bar and very enjoyable it was. Lovely atmosphere and very comfortable, staff pleasant and smiley. Nice vibe in the bar, dogs are welcomed so lots of people coming and going after beach walks brought in their dogs too which I always think adds to a nice pub vibe. Next day we had lunch of sandwiches and some drinks - again very enjoyable - great big fat traditional pub chips that you never see any more - terrific! Nice service again, throughly enjoyed our visits to Craster Arms and will be back again sometime soon.

Another visit 04/12/24 I had the southern fried chicken chicken burger and my husband had the Beadnell sizzler. The food arrived pretty quickly. The chips I had were the best ever. Hot, crispy and really tasty. I did find the chicken a little dry and the bacon was hard as it was very overcooked but I didn't want to complain as everything else was good. My husband had no complaints at all. It was a little cold when we went in as the doors were open along with the windows and it was a fresh day! We do really like the pub so will definitely return in the not so distant future. Visited again yesterday. Lovely food. The most beautiful flowers decorating the outside of the pub. We waited over an hour for the blandest Sunday lunches we have ever eaten. Even school dinners are tastier than these. Tasteless meat, watery turnip, plain boiled carrots and peas and the hardest roast potatoes imaginable. Beware you don't break a tooth biting into one of them. Our son chose a panini with chips and this looked lovely. Obviously depends what you order. People waiting all over the place to just get a table. Others waiting for their food to arrive. Not sure what the problem was... lack of staff or too many bookings accepted??? Awful waste of our family holiday time. We couldn't wait to get out. They offered us 20% discount, but we had a voucher for 15% off anyway. So disappointing😕

Booked for a birthday meal for 4 people. Very busy on arrival and good atmosphere, however despite being shown to our seats quickly our food had still not arrived 45 mins later with no communication from the waitress. We finally got the attention of the waitress who said there was a big table before us to be served and then us. With over an hour’s wait for food that was pretty mediocre when it arrived in comparison to previous visits, disappointing is an understatement! The chicken Caesar salad was particularly poor - I think they had taken a trip to Aldi to purchase a packet of sliced roast chicken breast to add rather than a freshly cooked sliced chicken breast I had expected. We were then avoided with no-one checking with us how the food was (that I had noticed happening on other tables). Interestingly the tables either side who had only just arrived got their food 10 mins after we got ours. A really bad experience for us all - 20% knocked off the bill which was appreciated but not really making up for our loss of a fantastic meal experience - will not return.
