A lovely relaxed experience, I love Neros in Berwick and find it calm and peaceful. Today I visited with my 3 sons, who wanted a sweet treat, the man who served me could see I was busy with them and was patient, polite and just helpful! We love the little library too, it always occupies my two youngest.

The staff made our little pug Bella very welcome. It's great that Caffe Nero allows dogs. After watching rare seabirds and seals on the river Tweed we were able to escape the rain, enjoy yummy coffee, lunch and cake, and relax with Bella. Many thanks - we'll back. Five woofs from Bella! 😁 🐾🐾

Pleasant, friendly staff, dog friendly, and a great selection of quality coffee. Also an excellent choice of both savoury and sweet snacks. Plenty of room, and pleasant, inobtrusive background music, either light classical or cool jazz. There's even a free library. One of our favourite watering holes in bonny Berwick. Highly recommended.

After a days walking along the cliffs & other footpaths in the Berwick area we visited Cafe Nero for a coffee. We were welcomed by the staff, ordered our coffees & took our seats. The coffee was very good, the cafe was clean & the staff very friendly.

We visited here twice for breakfast with my son, who eats vegan food. The porridge with honey along with their vegan croissant. My husband and I had lovely lattes. Sunday morning was very very busy as their was just one female barista on duty and she was very efficient and friendly and focussed on each customer in time. She didn't once become stressed by the queue. We returned the following Friday for the same - this time their were two baristas on duty. The facilities were clean and the seating areas were comfortable with some sofas/chairs available.

Have visited this branch several times during our stay here. Coffee has been weak to say the least. More disturbing though has been the attitude of the manager, quite controlling: watched her warn a lone customer about not taking a window seat if the branch became busy as they have to allocate seats (is this in print anywhere in the shop? Are we persecuting singletons?). Not his problem surely. He left shortly after. A disappointing experience and not up to the usual standard expected of a Caffe Nero.

Second time I’ve been here within a week . Last time I’ll go. The staff are abrupt and rude. Hygiene = Nil ! Putting cups away with fingers inside them with false nails on and then grabbing a teaspoon by the stirring end after scratching her head! No Thanks. One member of staff maybe supervisor very scary! Way to assertive. Not much clue on some of the coffees either which given it’s a coffee shop is a bit weird.

When I have been at cafe Nero Berwick only ever seems to be a tall boy working he seems tired. When I was in just before new year I witnessed the so called store manager talking down to the boy who always works, it was very unprofessional made me feel uncomfortable to be around this. In my personal opinion the store manager should be present more in store and I will not be returning until there is better management there.

My choice for coffee. I enjoy cortado but find it difficult to find. Cafe Nero make a very good cortado and my husband enjoys their latte. Had toasted sandwiches which were good.

We were pleased with our visit. We normally try to use local private coffee shops but this was handy . Friendly chatty staff and cake and coffee fine. Decent loos with a ramp for wheelchair use.

This used to be my favourite coffee shop in Berwick but lately the service is so slow and the coffee hit and miss seems to have new staff and has lost it's friendly vibe,

Usual Cafe Nero fare - decent coffee, good service. Might have been 4 stars, but too often the muzak is too loud for conversation.

I'm on record as having said on many occasions that if they awarded PhDs for scone-tasting, I should have a dozen. I've eaten scones in venues from the Orkney Islands to Australia and written about them in more publications than I could possibly remember. So, you can take my word for it that the freshly-baked, home-made scones (with butter and strawberry jam) at No.6 are quite possibly the best I've tasted in recent years. Cafe No 6 is a quaint place with a very atmospheric first-floor eating area, a delightful owner and staff who look like they are actually enjoying the job they do. My wife and I were just as impressed with the special 'doggy menu' on offer. We shall be back!

Ordered fish bites and chips. Chips ok .Fish bites were terrible . Tail ends of fish. No chunks of fish just thin flakes. Paid £13.00 including delivery. Absolute waste of money. Very Disappointed.

We stopped by chance at The Percy Arms for a drink and ended up eating an amazing meal-Wednesday afternoon and very quiet but the food was delicious and the service excellent. The soup was very tasty and the steak cooked to perfection - we will return!

I’m so sad to see this lovely place closed. It had great staff and atmosphere and a fantastically good smoked haddock chowder. I wish its people all the best and I thank them for all the great visits we’ve had here. I really hope that there might be a replacement cafe of such quality. We’ll watch with interest.

We visited the Joiners Arms during our stay at Newton Hall. On our first evening we arrived for your pre booked time slot for dinner. The staff that greeted us and served us were very nice. We ordered cocktails which were delicious, my husband had the burger and I had the fish and chips…both were really nice. We left feeling like we had had a lovely evening. The only disappointment was the local beer was off. The next morning we arrived for breakfast which is a mixture of self service and hot freshly cooked. This is where I have a few grumbles. The staff that were on were friendly enough, however, we experienced one of my pet hates when dinning out. When the hot food was served, our used plates from cereal/pasties etc were not cleared. We then sat with our dirty plates from our cooked breakfast for 15 minutes after we had finished. There were numerous passes by our table in that time and it was obvious we were finished but no attempt was made to clear our plates or to ask if everything was ok or if we required anything in addition. The plates were only cleared when we were standing putting on our coats. We had asked that morning for a table in the evening and we were told there were two large parties that evening therefore we would not be able to book, however we took a chance early in the evening and luckily they were able to fit us in which was appreciated. The second morning for breakfast we again had the same issue. Nothing wrong with the friendliness of the staff or the food but the attention to detail is lacking especially leaving dirty plates on the table, not checking back and not clearing when finished. There seems to be a big disconnect between the standards of the evening staff and the breakfast staff. That said, if in the area again I would give it another chance.
