Called this morning as local but not visited before. Met by a young chap with zero people skills, and Iād guess the proprietors sat in the window beside the doorway. Was told by lady in subdue that for cafe, go sit through there & order at counter. Menu says scones served warm which I hate, so asked for two not warned. I can see how earned is mention as they were as stale as! When cut, went to sheer crumbs. Coffee obvs from a push button machine and thatās fine, however we couldnāt drink them as tasted chemically. Just really unpleasant start to finish and with a tip on ordering I bless Ā£15 lighter in pocket. When thereās local competition with pleasant service and quality bakes Iād maybe suggest a rethink if trying here.

Afternoon tea for 1 and lunch for 1 Whilst my friend really enjoyed her lunch of risotto the same cannot be said for afternoon tea, this was a gift for a special Birthday, we were seated straight away and ordered drinks and our food, I was never offered the aternoon tea menu and was most surprised when it arrived and found that 2 of the 4 finger sandwiches were not what I would ever eat, I told the waiting person and she said rather bluntly that I didn't say what I wanted..I then informed her I was never ever given a menu or told of the choices..I was never offered an alternative, I then had to ask for coffee to have with our meal as was again never offered or asked before the meal arrived, the scone.with clotted cream and jam was delicious but this is where it ended, the small raspberry choux bun was still cold inside, not long out of freezer along with a small stale square of carrot cake and a slice of red and green battenburg type of cake which was stuck to the serving board, my friend ate the macaron which was OK, I had to ask for more coffee, they may have been short staffed but in the 2.5 hours we were there on 6 people in total were in dining area, I am very disappointed, I always feel that when you leave food you are never asked if you enjoyed it or was there anything not to your liking as they don't want to know, I wouldn't recommend the afternoon tea but would the lunch, I think a bit of staff consistency would be good as the person in the smarter attire was obviously more experienced and customer friendly than the person waiting on

Outrageously overpriced. We had 1 quiche, which arrived with no salad garnish. We asked the waitress if it should come with salad, she said oh yes and took it away. Came back with a very small amount. When we got the bill it was Ā£3 for Salad and Ā£9 for the quiche. One piece of cake was Ā£7. We had tea for 2. A very small pot enough for one small cup each. Charged Ā£9. For tea!!! Absolutely overpriced. Quality of quiche was good but carrot cake was not exceptional for the price. Service fine All seating now downstairs only so a bit cramped. As you can tell I will not be going back. Shame.

This was a lunch experience I will not repeat. Upon arrival the cafe was busy but many tables were unable to be used as they were covered in dirty crockery. The staff walked past the tables empty handed several times and made no attempt to clear the tables. I eventually cleared a table myself. The service at the order point is incredibly slow and several mistakes were made with our order. After a very long wait, food started to arrive in dribs and drabs. Sandwiches were eaten before I eventually returned to the counter to enquire about drinks and the rest of the order. Staff made no comment as I questioned the delay in our order or when I had to return incorrect items. The milk for my tea was served in a tea pot which I had incorrectly presumed was extra hot water. This is such a shame as it could be a good place as the food was nice.

Stopped off for breakfast and found automation had caught up with Morrisons, in the form of an automated ordering system. Finding our way around the screen wasn't quite as easy as big Mac and KFC equivalents but we did manage it, only just. Wanting to pay by cash, however, was even more difficult as the robot doesn't accept anything except credit cards so customer, much against the chagrin, had to use plastic. The breakfasts, when they arrived, was excellent and without doubt value for plastic.

What a fabulous place. Been looking forward to visiting since I found this cafe on Facebook. Highly recommend. Friendly staff and exceptional value for money. We will be back!
