Called this morning as local but not visited before. Met by a young chap with zero people skills, and I’d guess the proprietors sat in the window beside the doorway. Was told by lady in subdue that for cafe, go sit through there & order at counter. Menu says scones served warm which I hate, so asked for two not warned. I can see how earned is mention as they were as stale as! When cut, went to sheer crumbs. Coffee obvs from a push button machine and that’s fine, however we couldn’t drink them as tasted chemically. Just really unpleasant start to finish and with a tip on ordering I bless £15 lighter in pocket. When there’s local competition with pleasant service and quality bakes I’d maybe suggest a rethink if trying here.

Afternoon tea for 1 and lunch for 1 Whilst my friend really enjoyed her lunch of risotto the same cannot be said for afternoon tea, this was a gift for a special Birthday, we were seated straight away and ordered drinks and our food, I was never offered the aternoon tea menu and was most surprised when it arrived and found that 2 of the 4 finger sandwiches were not what I would ever eat, I told the waiting person and she said rather bluntly that I didn't say what I wanted..I then informed her I was never ever given a menu or told of the choices..I was never offered an alternative, I then had to ask for coffee to have with our meal as was again never offered or asked before the meal arrived, the scone.with clotted cream and jam was delicious but this is where it ended, the small raspberry choux bun was still cold inside, not long out of freezer along with a small stale square of carrot cake and a slice of red and green battenburg type of cake which was stuck to the serving board, my friend ate the macaron which was OK, I had to ask for more coffee, they may have been short staffed but in the 2.5 hours we were there on 6 people in total were in dining area, I am very disappointed, I always feel that when you leave food you are never asked if you enjoyed it or was there anything not to your liking as they don't want to know, I wouldn't recommend the afternoon tea but would the lunch, I think a bit of staff consistency would be good as the person in the smarter attire was obviously more experienced and customer friendly than the person waiting on

I like to support small businesses in this day and age BUT some have just pushed their luck to far. My partner and I needed a spot of lunch and we decided to try Deyns Deli. Firstly there are far to many tables squeezed into such a small space, making it unpleasant and uncomfortable. A bit of a tight squeeze. We looked at the menu, nothing much was popping out, but I was only wanting soup so that was fine with me. My partner went up to order, service was very slow, but meanwhile another couple squeezed into a seat beside me and I over heard them talking about the prices on the menu...which I agreed were crazy but I was just having soup. They left saying the could get a proper meal for £15 rather than a sandwich in this cafe. I agreed also. If I was on my own I may have just left but my partner was waiting to get served. We both had soup and mines was potato chilli and honey, my partner got the lentil. So so so so disappointed. It was extremely watery and tasteless. I wish I was given a straw. The lentil was also watery. I never even finished mine, absolute disgrace how they can get away with charging £7.50 for this soup. It has probably been the worst soup I have had. For 2 soups with a piece of bread, scone , 2 coffees, just over £25. Crazy! I feel as though I have just been ripped off. Postives.... 2 wee serving girls seemed nice.

Previous experiences here have been good. This time, however, we found it very poor. When buying a scone we were given only one small portion of butter. When I asked for another I was told that I would have to pay extra for it. The loaded potato skins were in fact chips with bacon and cheese on the top. Doubt we’ll be stopping off here again.

Stopped off for breakfast and found automation had caught up with Morrisons, in the form of an automated ordering system. Finding our way around the screen wasn't quite as easy as big Mac and KFC equivalents but we did manage it, only just. Wanting to pay by cash, however, was even more difficult as the robot doesn't accept anything except credit cards so customer, much against the chagrin, had to use plastic. The breakfasts, when they arrived, was excellent and without doubt value for plastic.

I enjoyed a fabulous vegetarian breakfast here. At last, somewhere who does not think that nasty tasting meat substitutes on a plate qualifies as a quality breakfast. There is one sausage, but it is the best I have had in a very long time. This review is not complete without mentioning the lovely staff. Jordan in the front of house, and Callum in the kitchen. I hope I have Jordan's name right, the woman with the green hair should easily identify this sassy lady.

Visited this cafe 10 Nov 2024 2pm. We were on a coach trip travelling back to Leeds so looking for sandwiches to take on coach. Very little choice. Ordered two tuna and one coronation chicken sandwich and charged £25.50. This was the only cafe open on the island selling food that day so no choice but to pay. Alternative was a dried up sausage roll for £4. Staff attitude, take it or leave it, I didn’t set the prices.
