The best restaurants in Royal Hospital Kensington and Chelsea London

If you want attentive staff AVOID! We had to call someone over to check our coffees were coming and they had clearly forgot. No one came to check on our meal and there were things wrong with it but we had already gone up to get there attention twice before. Food was average - avoid the zucchini fritters as they are a pile of soggy slodge! Staff were very slow and will not be returning

Just sat in this deserted Kings Road reataurant trying to eat a small plate of five pieces of dried up chicken reheated and a tiny portion of cold chips and realised why it's empty. I just thought let's get through this it's only £9.95 but when the bill came - or rather I went to the counter because there was no service - the one rude waiter behind the bar presented me and my friend with a bill for £44. We could not believe it. He claimed the five pieces of chicken with no accompaniemwnt was a shish taok main course which it so wasn't. It was appalling. I wasn't going to argue at £9.95 but at £22 a head I argued and then some but he absolutely insisted that we had to pay that and if we hadn't liked it we shouldn't have eaten it. What a truly awful place. Only two other customers in there and they looked as shocked as we were by their small plates of dried up food. Haven't had a meal this bad in London ever. Avoid this place like the plague although surely it can't be disgracing itself for much longer as it looks as though most people already avoid it. That's the biggest waste of nearly £50 I have ever experienced. I feel utterly swindled and robbed. Disgusting.

Nice airy and light place to have a drink but found the server to be most miserable. A cheery front facing server isn’t much to ask for, but this place is not alone in having unhappy staff who probably want to doing other things with their career.

Great food, especially the zucchini fries and Nutella pizza! Brilliant staff and service and a lovely cosy rustic interior - perfect on a cold winters day, loads of outdoor seating for the summer.

Convenient location, high quality food

This was my first time encountering Five Guys. Was there too much material? I felt like I was missing the essence of the burger. I don't think I'll bother looking for this franchise.

Nice location, easy for a stop while shopping at King's Road. We sat at the bar, service was good. Overall nice, but not really exceptional.

Excellent representation of Spanish gastronomy. The food was delicious and everything was great. We visited the four stores they have in London, and each one had its own charm. Highly recommended!

Great food great service great location, what’s not to like?

I had an event in the upstairs room for 60 people. Quentin was extremely helpful with organising the event. It was good value and stress free. The evening was a great success

We had a small wedding celebration at the Surprise and they were amazing! Food was superb! Everyone said how lovely the food was, the staff were attentive and kind, they decorated the room beautifully for us before we arrived and made us feel very welcome and special. Thank you so much!
