The staff are rude to women. They charge £6 for a pint of lemonade which is the same as a beer. In what universe are they the same price. Geezers forgot how to run a pub

Rare ‘proper’ boozer that won’t have you crying at central London prices. Irish and Italian barman were great , left me to chill with my book and didn’t even object when I called him Scottish. Great selection of beers and decent pool table, what pubs used to be.

Bathroom was disgusting, service was awful, the bartender was rude and created an uncomfortable atmosphere. I advise you go to the fox and hound for a much better experience as the barmen aren’t horrible to you as soon as you walk into the door. Just to let know

Popped in here on a walk, and now I understand some of the comments about the "bitter barman." The rudest I've experienced in 10 years in London. Won't make eye contact with you, slams the drinks down and rolls his eyes at everyone. Will intentionally avoid serving you even though the place is empty. Made even worse for the fact we paid £12 for two diet cokes. Was entertaining to watch everyone come out of the pub looking stunned at how rude he is and suggesting leaving. Will never go back.

Closest thing you'll get to a proper old skool pub in the area, great Guinness (landlord knows his stuff Guinness wise) and service that makes me want to go back whenever I'm in the area. Prices are significantly less than the average for Kensington and Chelsea too. Used to be at least one pub like this serving the local working community on almost every street in London, they're an increasing rarity these days, really hope this one stays true to itself and sustainable as a business as it'd be a massive loss to the local community and people looking for the authentic experience of a no frills London boozer if it doesn't

Legendary place for Guinness and pool. Good tracks on the jukebox and well located. Only problem is how badly I get trounced at pool!

Old school pub traditional english pub with the real london men that work in the area. The staff are so friendly and this is a true experience to feel london. Busy never any trouble always clean and always welcoming.

There was no food during our visit. But it was very interesting there and was a great resting place after the Chelsea Flower Show.

Tonight was my first visit to this drinking establishment. The Friday night clientele seemed nice enough, even the ones that were struggling to work out how the pool table works? Even the guy who kept pulling on the toilet door that was clearly marked "push" and kept complaining to the bar staff that they still haven't fixed the toilet door was surprisingly nice company. The only thing that totally made my mind up to never revisit said drinking establishment if it was the last watering hole left on earth and my alcoholism has risen to epic proportions was the aggressive, socially inadequate, inarticulate, bitter barman. Not a great thinker as he has clearly chosen the wrong career path for a man with with all his qualities. His manner and overwhelming aggressive nature ruined our evening so much so that we didn't even pick our drinks up. We just left having decided we'd have a better time scooping each others eyes out with rusty tea spoons. If world peace suddenly broke out and at the same time poverty and starvation eradicated, this guy would effortlessly manage to ruin the party!

A small place, gets afternoon sun. The only place in the entire area where I don't have a coronary when I see prices. A local's local that tolerates rather than encourages random passersby.

If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all, was what my mother told me. So, if you like dog-end pubs in the poshest part of town, filled with street life, this is the one for you. I was delighted, no, not to enter and find it so, but to exit and leave them to it.

Popped in with my wife for some pre dinner drinks. This is not the sort of establishment you expect to find just off Sloane Square, but what it does have is great old school pub atmosphere. It's a small pub, but not overcrowded when we were there, the beer was fine and we got a seat in a quiet corner. It has a timeless feel to it, in that you could imagine it looking pretty much the same at any point in the last 50 years. Worth a visit definitely.

Awful pub. Attitude of the barman was terrible. Put simply, if he wanted to be there he didn’t give that impressive. Dirty bar and toilets and the pints were less than average. 7 of us came in, no one else at the bar and it was like he was doing us a favour by serving. If you finds yourself outside and debating a visit here…:don’t!

Very different to many of the other local pubs and it's almost a must to go to know with it being an older styled design, both in and out.

I walked in the pub in Monday afternoon. I stood at the bar for 5 mins and nobody came to serve me. Eventually a man who had been sitting having a drink who I hadn't even released worked there eventually came to the bar I asked if he served food. he simply said in one word NO. Rude, awful service and I would never set foot in the place again.

A european barman there was really rude and aggressive towards my friend for absolutely no reason. NEVER going back!

Easily the worst Sunday Roast in London After living in London 15 year and eating Sunday roast most weeks this was the most inedible. The lamb and beef had been cut much earlier resulting Sahara dry (I needed water to down them). The roasted potatoes were chewy with no crunch or inner fluffiness. The gravy if that is what it was was violently salty. The mint sauce was like having pure vinegar — likely from an old bottle. The cabbage was candy sweet. THANKFULLY the broccoli was nearly raw as this cleansed he palate. I have travelled around word but this cause indigestion to my lead tummy. To add insult it was priced a third more than most pubs. The place was so noisy the pleasant waitstaff could not hear requests

The staff have to be the most unfriendly I've ever encountered, used to visit with workmates only to be glared at by the creepy man behind the bar. Sticky tables rarely cleaned, had to get my suit dry-cleaned once due to the gunk on the table.

Visiting my dad, a Chelsea pensioner, who is now in the infirmary. My husband and I called in the Rose & Crown for nostalgic reasons, as we used to visit here with him when they did food. £19.60 for 2 glasses of wine. I could get over it, we were I central Chelsea, but a little steep.

The bar man was very negative me being polite.

Appalling service. Gastly man behind the bar rolled his eyes and huffed and puffed when asked for drinks, card reader was shoved towards me without him telling me the amount. My elderly father and I were made to feel extremely uncomfortable. Doubt we'll return. Do not recommend, go elsewhere.

2pm on August 19th. Tall chap behind the bar was as rude as anyone I have ever dealt with.Impatient. Yes it was moderately busy, but his lack of patience and rudeness was totally unacceptable. I ordered a Doom Bar, cranberry juice with ice and lemon, and a bag of cheese and onion crisps. He was not paying attention so the lemon didn’t happen, or the crisps. When I had to ask him, he snapped “can’t you see I’m busy”. I am a patient man, I had someone step in front of me to get his order in due to him being in a hurry. I have two heart procedures this year so was not going to get myself worked up, but I very nearly left my drinks on the bar. Again, totally unacceptable.

After visiting this pub recently I have to say a bit disappointed service was a disaster very slow the barman I felt would rather be anywhere but where he was a lot of customer's pi---d of couldn't ger served

An excellent older men’s pub in the heart of Islington, that needs you to understand what you’re coming into. Expect fun and locals and all things good. Leave your ego at the door.

Rudest bar staff imaginable. Ignores customers to talk to women at the bar then proceeds to serve another customer who arrived well after us saying "they can wait" when told we were first. Also massively overcharged us which no breakdown of why

🚇 Sloane Square 🍺 £4.80 Fosters ❤️ An excellent cosy and traditional SW1 pub. . Located near Sloane Square at the base of a block of flats you’ll find The Rose & Crown. The nearest Tube is Sloane Square which is a few minutes walk away. . This pub was built in 1869 and rebuilt in its current guise in 1934. It narrowly avoided destruction when a V1 rocket exploded in Sloane Court East on 3rd July 1944. All the buildings around the pub were destroyed. . This is a traditionally decorated pub which reminds me of my pub exploits in the late 80’s and early 90’s. This is a cosy boozer which has a simple and functional servery, I imagine the pub would have had two bars back in the day judging by the two entrances. The walls are clad in dark wood tongue and groove panels with mirrors and black and white photos of film stars from the golden age of Hollywood. A rare treat in this part of town is a pool table, normally these are hoofed out to make way for tables & chairs to fit more punters in, ironically I bet the pool table brings more people in. The Landlady was telling me that during lockdown they were have a sort out and found some original Tiffany lampshades which now hang from the ceiling. . The beer selection was a straight up, no fuss offering, there were also two handpulls for the real ale enthusiasts. I took it easy and ordered a pint of Fosters, my pint was well kept and surprisingly cost less than a fiver. No food is served here but there are plenty of crisps and nuts. . I arrived just after opening on a Sunday lunchtime and had the place to myself. I was served by the lovely Landlady who was very chatty whilst she was pottering around getting things ready for the days trade. I had a good mooch around the pub having a nose at the film star photos and the place in general. . The Rose & Crown is a lovely little traditional boozer which was a great find amongst its upmarket neighbours. The Landlady was great, she was so welcoming and I loved our little chat. The Rose and Crown is a traditional London pub in the extremely upmarket setting of Lower Sloane Street - so you get a good class of clientele! They have sport on their 2 tellies and a popular pool table. The Guinness is good, and I'm told that the prices for all pints compare very favourably with other central London pubs. They no longer do meals. There is a loyal clientele, which I would count myself among. To describe the service as warm and friendly would be inaccurate, but it is efficient, and the atmosphere in the pub is good, for such a swanky area. Quite a fascinating place, in many ways, because it is such a traditional London pub, and yet boasts some very upmarket patrons from the surrounding area! Quite a find, and I recommend it.

Full of character and apparently one of the best pints of Guiness in town. Pool table, Duke box, and a characterful crowd with reasonable prices. Good old English pub.

Seriously rude bar staff, showing the horse racing on a Saturday afternoon and gave us a dirty glass then told us we can leave if we didn’t like it. This is a really classy joint.

The barman with a northern European accent was so aggressive and rude to my friend for absolutely no reason, it was pretty shocking and totally bizarre. My friend remained calm and polite during the altercation and didnt rise to it thankfully. We had to quickly drink up and leave because of the unwelcome atmosphere.

Very nice and polite people, splendid atmosphere, good beer at a reasonable price, authentic, local! What more proof do you need? I will visit it, every time I am in London.

Popped in for a cheeky drink. Unfriendliest barman I have ever encountered behind a bar. Looked like people ordering drinks in a pub was massively putting him out. Practically threw the card reader at me without telling me how much my round came to. Taking glasses off tables that arent actually finished. Honestly would never come back here because of him and would only recommend this place to people I don’t actually like. He is by far the rudest, most miserable person I have ever had the displeasure of coming across. I’ve seen wet blankets with more personality.

Honestly, the worst pub I’ve ever been to in the UK. The owner or whoever it was serving us was incredibly rude, impolite, Ill-mannered and I can continue. It was such an appalling experience. I honestly urge anyone reading this to stay away from this place.

Love this pub, its like stepping back in time to the 80s. Central London pubs are (at best) restaurants pretending to be a pub of sorts, little fun and mainly consumption. This place nails the fundementals - jukebox, pool table and Scampi fries! Fun and friendly place.

A decent traditional type London Pub which surprisingly is not pretentious as to be expected in this area these days. The London Pride is excellent.

A very traditional pub, with a local flare within Chelsea. Was a great place to sit and drink beer. Place moves slower but then again it was one barman who serves us all. Great place also with a pool table and fun chatter.

Very bad rude service and over charged on my card more than a few times I will never go back and I know plenty more people are doing the same thing good luck if you want to see for yourself.

I was in this pub tonight not any more drunk than I had ever been in the past.. Suddenly after my first pint the boss who has been there for quite a few year's told be in should leave.. He even followed me into the loo with I was booking a cab to insure I left the premises.which I suppose he is entitled to do..I will never ever again go any where near this establishment. I felt insulted by a very ignorant man.

After a wonderful day at the Chelsea flower show and lunch at Gordon Ramsey’s we ended up here… Fabulous Pub with a very wide range of customers… Quite a few vodkas later we left and travelled back to Kent… The next morning I realised I’d lost my sunglasses…. Feeling rather upset as they are Tiffany prescription ones I phoned the pub as it was the last place I remember having them…. How lucky I was as they were there!!! I travelled up the following weekend to retrieve them and although I offered the landlord a tip for the staff he declined and was just happy to return my sunglasses to me x
