Great food and location but the service is not what it was.

Lucky to get a table without a reservation. After a long day walking around the city, the fish 🐟 and chips 🍟couldn’t be a better treat. It was amazing beyond measure. The crispness complemented the most flaky fish. With great chips and gerkhin ketchup. Compliments to the very lovely staff, we enjoyed every moment of our dinner 🌟

A local pub with nice service and atmosphere. The food was also good and what you would expect in a pub, at a perfectly fine price.

Charming pub in a lovely suburb. Would suggest more small plates or sides on the menu but otherwise the food was very good quality.

I took my best friend out for her birthday to try what I believe is the best Sunday roast in London. There was a bit of a mix-up with our order, and we ended up waiting a while for our food. However, Tom and Sam turned things around and made sure we eventually got exactly what we ordered. I can only imagine how stressful it must be for the staff when things like this happen – no one wants disappointed and hungry customers! But thanks to Sam's positive attitude, some delicious pints, and the long-awaited roast, we left feeling perfectly full and pleasantly tipsy. It turned out to be a memorable birthday meal!

Sunday Roast as if Mom made it. Light fluffy Yorkshire pudding, fork tender beef, smooth tasty gravy. Carrots were amazing. Staff treated us as locals even though we were clearly tourists, lol. Would go again and again!!

Nice surprise in this quiet and very pleasant pub, about 8 minutes' walk from the crowds of tourists on Portobello Road. Recommended for a quick lunch and/or a good beer. Small outdoor terrace, charming staff, neat decor.

Great vibes, cool neighborhood pub. Just cant be bothered to answer the phone to take a booking or be kind to guests trying to have drink in bar.

Very busy. Only 1 lager on offer, Asahi, and the bartender thought I was the odd one when I turned my nose up at their poor selection. Inside smelt of fish. Won’t return

The food here is something else! I am not even big on pubs but this can easily be one of the best in London.

Really yummy food, super friendly service. And a lot of patience with our two dogs who are not the most practiced at sitting quietly in pubs but because we were given a dog-appropriate table out the way and the staff were so accommodating - it worked really well. Thanks!

When in the area, I usually go to another pub, but this day we changed plans and went here. The food is of an exceptionally high standard! Service to match and well worth a detour.

We absolutely loved this place - the atmosphere is great, located alongside a quite Street away from the tourists of NH. The food was the best pub food we’d for a long time, lots of flavour on the polenta and the fish and chips for once didn’t swim in oil but was light and fluffy. Service was very friendly and efficient. Can’t wait to come back!

Chef did an amazing job once it was our turn - took over 30 mins to take order then over an hour for starters to arrive. Nicoise salad is worth returning for, didn’t ask about other starters but do know that everyone enjoyed their mains. Waitress was run ragged - but she and colleague were very helpful and definitely gave it 100%. We think too many covers for too small a kitchen! No regrets - is a gorgeous setting and not being rushed off table is a bonus in this day and age (see, having to wait!) so was the perfect spot for visiting family. Thank you to everyone working last night!

Good food, great atmosphere with top service

One of the better pubs in the area - tucked away in a side street and it is full of character. People I met here came from around the world and you never know what you get every time. We love it. Food here is great and we are keen to come back for a roast. One thing I’d change is the price of their drinks, a tad more expensive than others in the area and it adds up after a few.

My son and I hit the Ladbroke Arms for a later Sunday roast after 2 other restaurants we went to had already stopped serving. We were very pleased as the meals were well portioned and very tasty with meat, potatoes, three kinds of vegetables and yorkshire pudding

The atmosphere is delightful the patrons v friendly and the food absolutely delicious! As a person with Parkinson’s I found the toilets incredibly small and difficult to navigate, they were however very clean

Sitting there for over 15 min trying to give eye contact and still no service despite walikg next to us several times. Got up and left.

We were looking for a local pub and felt we found it here! It was a Saturday night so we made a reservation earlier that same day, which I would recommend, as walk ins were waiting up to an hour. The atmosphere is perfect, and the food was delicious. My mom and I both got the fish and chips. The homemade tartar sauce was divine! I also had the Portobello Pilsner, and it was perfect. Highly recommend!

Booked a table there on 12 May, but the pub had toilet problems from opening, and yet the staff couldn't be bothered to let us know, not even properly when I rang - 4 attempts, as they don't answer their phone - to apologise that train delays meant I'd be late. I was told to come and have a drink at the bar and that our table would be delayed by an hour. Then 15 minutes later we got a call saying not to come, just as we got out of the tube station. We'd travelled from the other side of London as we'd heard good things about this pub. Clearly they don't care about customer service, just tips that they don't even have to work for. Disgusting attitude towards customers. Updated 27 May - had a call and a lovely long chat with the manager, Magda, who was genuinely as disappointed as we were. We've reached a satisfactory resolution 😊

Great pub - staff were friendly, drinks were good (especially the wine list, which is top notch), and the food was a real standout. Dogs were also welcome in the front area of the pub (but not the restaurant area at the back).

Great place, tasty food and friendly and attentive staff. Great terrace too, though usually quite crowded. Not cheap, but reasonable, given the location. Decent roasts and burgers.

Had a wonderful lunch here! It was a beautiful sunny London day so we sat outside - the street is very quiet which made for a super peaceful meal. The service was great and the food feels elevated without being too fancy. The mushroom and polenta is a great veggie option.

I had an absolutely perfect Sunday beef roast and sticky toffee pudding. Servers were so polite and attentive. The atmosphere was lively and relaxed without being overly loud.

Used to be our go to for a reliable Saturday night dinner, now I would only recommend a burger

We really enjoyed our meal as I was travelling with tourists in London and it is sometimes difficult to find a pub meal with this level of quality. From the salmon tartare to the roast hake, to the fish and chips, everything was cooked to perfection. Will definitely come back. This is a real gastro pub and sometimes it’s better to pay a bit more to have an experience to remember.

Very expensive Sunday roast (£200 for a family of 4), offering the tiniest of portions of beef (2 small wafer thin slices), a yorkshire pudding that was very very dry and reheated roast potatoes well past their prime. Given such a mighty price, altogether very disappointing. At these prices guys, I think you need to raise the game in the kitchen. Service was excellent and a lovely atmosphere.

Went for Sunday Roast with two teenage children. Got 3 dishes, which was plenty - chicken, pork belly and the beef. Got some toffee pudding and ice cream too. Everything was delicious - the carrots, cabbage and potatoes were out of this world good. Tasted like home cooking, in a very homey setting.

Comfortable cozy setting and delicious food, ideal destination for a classicly British Sunday afternoon (I.e. Roast with a beer accompagnement, followed by a digestive picturesque walk) I may add that the burger is a tad disappointing, the texture not great and not enough flavor. The kitchen does not make medium rare burgers unfortunately

🚇 Holland Park 🍺 £6.25 London Pilsner A Charming Notting Hill Gastro. The Ladbroke Arms is located on a quiet side street opposite the local police station in Notting Hill. The nearest Tube is Holland Park, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This pub was built in 1843 and is named after James Weller Ladbroke who developed the surrounding Ladbroke Estate in the 19th century. This eye catching pub has some wonderful features throughout. This is a one room pub that is divided into two sections. As you enter you arrive into the main bar area that has an Artdeco servery with stained glass panels above. Around the walls are some bold artworks, a huge etched mirror and a beautiful black and white historical photo of the pub. To the left of the servery is a raised section which is traditionally decorated and set aside for dining. At the front of the pub is a quaint patio terrace to while away in the warmer months. The beer selection was diverse and included one cask, London brews and some premium continental mainstays. I decided on a pint of London Pilsner by Portobello Brewing, my pint was excellent, price point was just above average. This is a well celebrated Gastropub, so much so that it has recently been awarded an AA Rosette. The food menu consists of elevated pub classics which keeps the locals coming back for more,Fish & Chips costs £23. I arrived around 5pm for a Thursday afternoon afterwork pint. The main bar and dining area were quiet, as it was a lovely day most punters were gathered on the patio at the front of the pub. The punters were a mix of afterworkers like myself, loyal locals and the odd stray tourist. The service was warm and welcoming, the chap who served me was all smiles and courteous. This upmarket local Gastro was a very enjoyable visit indeed. Obviously I was here beer, there were plenty of provisions for me to do so without any knife and fork intimidation. Having said that, if I fancied some posh nosh, I was in the right place. I loved the setting, decor and the warm local feel. Cozy and lovely little pub nested in a more quiet area from the main street which we stumbled upon whilst out returning home from walking. We only had a few drinks, but particularly loved their seafood options which definitely seemed to be one of their specialities and signature dishes!

Simply fantastic. Love this pub. I only wish it had a few more seats to accomadte us as it is so popular and rightly so!

Lots of fish/seafood options, which is why I chose this place. The hake served with squid ink gnocchi and samphire was out of this world. Absolutely stunning. They also give you really fresh sourdough on arrival - in which case you might not need a starter. I had the burrata but wasn't too keen on the cooked onions. The crunchy dried onions went much better. Great atmosphere too.

One of my favourite local pubs in NH.

First experience at this pub. The food was overpriced for a lunchtime burger - a side order of chips (tea cup sized bowl) £5. Agree with other reviewers comments about the staff lacking a welcoming personality, although one staff came and asked if we would like anything else (ketchup, mustard etc). £100 for 3 meals with 2 soft drink and Guinness. I couldn't justify the bill.

What a lovely little place to spend your evening after work! This pub has a great selection of food and drinks. Definitely recommended the mulled wine for the cold winter days. I had the salmon crudo to start and my friend had the burrata which were both delicious ways to start the evening. I couldn’t resist a burger and I was not disappointed. It was super juicy and not over cooked. She’s ordered the sea bass before and ordered it again this time, consistently her favourite dish. If only we had room for dessert.. definitely will be back to try *super dog friendly ❤️

We had dinner there last night about 10 of us. Everyone was happy with their meals lovely atmosphere and especially love the fact that our Dog was welcome. It was a great evening. All in all. I do recommend the Ladbrook Arms everyone.

Nothing extraordinary about the place. We came on a Friday evening, it felt extremely crowded. We had a table booked (came there for dinner) but couldn’t enjoy properly because waiters were rushing around

Lovely food! The only thing was a small portion of vegetables and potatoes for a Sunday roast.

Nice pub, with a homey feel, efficient bartenders and a very decent outside terrace - perfect for a pint or two with friends. The street is also very nice and decently easy to park

Fabulous roasts, especially the picanha beef which is one of the best I’ve ever had. I look forward to coming back again soon for that alone. We had good service, a good bottle of Gavi, all the trimmings and gravy were great. The other roast was pork, which was also very good. Oh and a sticky toffee pudding, also top notch stuff!

Voor het eerst van mijn leven een Sunday Roast mogen ervaren. Fantastisch eten, vol van smaak, maar wel enorme borden vol. Jammer dat we een voorgerecht hadden genomen, alhoewel die waren ook echt uitstekend. Echt bourgondisch eten. Een aanrader.

It's very cramped in there but good

Stopped in for a drink at this nicer neighborhood pub - more modern than traditional.The staff are helpful and friendly. The vibe here was special. Locals were drinking outside and in the alley. We started chatting with some other guests and the time flew by. We had a ball!

The best roast dinner ever! The vegan wellington is so delicious - it makes you wonder if it’s made of meat, so moist and tasty! The roast potatoes were fluffy and crispy, everything was so fresh! The Eton mess with basil oil was to die for - so perfectly balanced and not sickly sweet! But the highlight of our visit was the phenomenal service we had from Magda - who went above and beyond to offer us a late Sunday roast and apologised profusely for the last slice of wellington (which was huge) and gave me cauliflower cheese as an alternative! One of the best roasts we’ve had but the service was just amazing!

This was the first place we ate at when we arrived in London. Cool little place staff was friendly. The food was great. I had fish and chip the fish was Hake fish which I've never had before. Definitely have the sticky toffee. Our server Alice was full of London knowledge and told us of some of the gems besides touristy things to see.

Fabulous spot for a Sunday roast, but be sure to book. When we arrived this weekend they were only taking pre booked guests.

Trendy gastro pub in nice location, so pricey but quality food and drink. (I object to plastic glasses when I pay this price; even though it was during the festival this place is well away from the excitement and was no where near full. Besides we drank inside.) Comfortable seating and traditional decor. The burgers were had were good.

Had the best Eton Mess I’ve ever had. Prices were on the high side, but this is usual for the neighborhood and city. All the food was lovely, and the staff was friendly. Feels really cosy, especially to sit outside on a sunny day.

Very nice terrace with beautiful flowers , neighbourhood place , no tourist, dog friendly . The hamburgers were very good , and the sweet potatoes fries excellent !

The food was great, and I really like the atmosphere and the pub itself. The service was awful - which is shocking given they put a 15% service charge on the tab here. You’d expect actual service for that. I had to order my drinks multiple times because my server forgot to put the order in then was told the bartender “forgot to make them”… yeah right. I also was sat a tiny table when one that fit my party was available and I only got the larger table because I went and asked why it has sat empty, etc. Staff here were not proactive, or on top of it. Quite disorganized.

That place is SO cute. Boy, I didn’t think I could find such a gem in busy London! We all ordered the fish n chips and yes, it’s super expensive but the halibut was exquisite and BIG. Could only eat half of it. Presentation was amazing with different sides and sauces. We all enjoyed it a lot! Must see!
