My oxtail pie was phenomenal. Really liked the place , all seamed to be done from the stretch and they change menus according to the seasonality.

We all enjoyed our dinner at the Phoenix : the plaice was delicious and the service was great. To finish, we couldn’t resist the sticky treacle pudding with ice cream !

Great lunch. Everything was perfect, and the pub superb as sways.

Good friendly service but v limited menu, all fries pre-made food- burgers, battered fish and breaded chicken - all with chips. No pasta dishes and no fresh veges - menu used to be much more varied and fresher

Cosy little venue with good service

Excellent as always. Although we don't go as often as we would like, you are made to feel at home by the bar manager and staff. The food is consistently good, generous portions and well presented.

A very reliable Gastropub. Location is perfect just off King’s Rd. The menu is typical for English pubs. Kids are welcome, not merely tolerated. Prices are absolutely reasonable, service is great.

It’s a shame there’s only 5* to give because if I could give more than 5* I would. The staff are incredible and the food is to die for. This place serves the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had in my life. We’ll be coming here again and again and again and bringing friends too. Thank you so much for always looking after us.

I have been to this pub (the Phoenix) in Chelsea several times because I live nearby. Always picked up Fish and Chips as my favourite apart from Sunday roast. This time of my fish and chips was not that great, was smelt very fishy and also dry as meat steak. Wasn’t happy for this time. I’m sure this is for this time not future! Will be back again and again for fish and chips.

Warm, welcoming pub. Very friendly, professional, efficient staff. Speedy service. Good food. Steak tartare excellent. Nice choice of real ales and lagers. Very straightforward to book table online, and reassuring to be texted nearer day, to confirm booking. Highly recommended.

Delicious food found here! Lovely pub just off King's Road with great food and friendly service. It's everything you could want from a pub. Decor is cute with a little library corner. It's always comfortable in here with air conditioning on hot days and a little fire when it's cold outside.

A very cosy pub, they serve a good pint and are reasonably priced, staff were very friendly.

Came for the pub quiz, was disappointed that they didn't have our booking on the system. We were sat in the restaurant, as opposed to the pub proper, and the quiz master didn't have a microphone, so he had to shout which was quite jarring. I think it would have been fine if the quiz master had a mic. Generally not ideal though. Didn't eat, service was decent, ordering on the app much faster than the bar

Walk into pub today at lunch time , bar man didn’t even acknowledge us , sat for lunch no one else’s in bar had to go to bar to order drinks turned round 5 minutes later to see our drinks on bar I asked the barman if I had to come to collect them , he’s one word was yes he stood there with no emotion , I thought in a pub you got service , won’t eat there again, food average

We really appreciated our dinner at The Phoenix: a cosy place with a fireplace, wooden tables, and nice posters on the wall. The food was delicious: a board of charcuterie making you believe that you were in Italy and an ox tail pie which was a marvel. Everything home made, tasty and generous, with a warm welcome. A good surprise at a reasonable price for London.

Went on a weeknight, we were quickly seated. The ambience is fantastic. The bartender was friendly & recommended an excellent cask ale and the food (fish & chips, steak frites, & phoenix pie) was excellent. The ONLY issue we had was the time it took to get our food. Not sure if they were short staffed in the kitchen or what. Also, there was no one waiting tables, forcing the bartender to do double duty and food took over 45 minutes to arrive. There were two other tables of patrons in our dining room also waiting for their orders. At one point another table asked the bartender/waiter if there was anyone working in the kitchen that evening. When food did arrive it was excellent, but guys….get some more staff!

Came across the Phoenix whilst strolling down kings road. Really friendly staff and the food was delicious 🤤. Definitely need to book to get in, although we were quite fortunate to arrive when it opened so they squeezed us in. But it did get very busy. The Sunday roasts were delightful and worth sampling.

We had such an unpleasant experience today because of the rude attitude of the waiters. Both the staff at the bar and service treated us in a hostile manner, responding to our requests in an unacceptably patronizing way.

Lunch yesterday was extremely poor. Tatiana seemed to be holding the show on her own & did the best she could whilst the man - I assume the manager - was utterly useless. When I arrived and waited to ask about my booking, he ignored me so I ended up having to ask Tatiana, who was manning the bar, about my reservation. A lot of items, the ones suitable for veggies, weren’t available (the veggie burger states on the menu the patty is made from cow 🙄, the beetroot tart wasn’t available, the roast butternut squash wasn’t available). The manager brought out our food, some of which was cold & had to be sent back. He cleared our plates but didn’t bother coming back to ask us if we wanted desert. We weren’t asked during the meal if everything was ok or we needed anything else or if we wanted more drinks. Overall the pub is very tired, it’s cold & the loos are pretty disgusting. If you’re considering eating here, I really wouldn’t waste your time or money. I’d stay well clear & I certainly won’t be back. EDIT - I emailed the manager following his comment below and he couldn’t even be bothered to reply to that.

This is a pub I’ve been going for years and I took my guests there today; however we felt very unwelcome since the moment we stepped in. The waiter serving us ignored us for a while when we wanted to order something and when he finally came over, he was arrogant enough to add “pleeease” to the end of my order when in fact I was not finished with my sentence yet. I am very disappointed and will not be returning to such a place after such rude and hostile behaviour at an extent that it felt racist.

Terrible experience! We went to Phoenix yesterday afternoon as a group of four. We called ahead to check for availability and were informed that there was space. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome due to the repeated rude behavior of the young, tall, blonde waiter serving us. I have to describe his physical appearance as we couldn't catch his name. He kept ignoring us when we tried to order drinks, snubbed us while we were placing our order, and arrogantly added "pleeease" at the end of our sentences, even though we hadn't finished speaking. Despite trying to act like a lecturer on courtesy, he didn't even ask if we had finished our food before clearing our plates from the table. Even though we were treated rudely, we were willing to give feedback for future reference at the end of the service. When he came to collect the payment, we asked to speak to the manager. He claimed to be the manager, but it was clear that he was not. We still tried to communicate with him politely, but all we received was a more hostile attitude sprinkled with ignorance and eye rolls. We all left with the same feeling and assumption that this could only be explained by racial or sexist discrimination, as we clearly observed his behavior towards other customers, which was nothing like ours. Aside from that, the Sunday roast was one of the best I've ever had; the meat was of good quality. It's such a shame that the lack of hospitality and rude, insulting manners overshadowed all the goodness and joy of the experience. I hope the real manager reads this and starts working on improving the communication skills of the employees.

I haven’t been here for a few years but this stalwart of the Chelsea pub lunch scene still hits the high notes. Great food, excellent ambiance and lovely staff.

Fabulous local for a lazy afternoon with friends or reading the weekend papers! Dogs welcome. Some outdoor seating.

I think this is one of the least good pubs I’ve been to in London. Food was very poor and overpriced. The whole place looks old and dated. Not recommended

Dog friendly, good food and very nice staff. They have dog treats and blanket. Lovely fireplace and the staff was very kind.

Came here for dinner with friends and family. The front bar section is buzzy and busy, but step into the back and you'll find a wood-paneled dining room which feels like a member's club, complete with roaring open fire. We ate steak frites and were recommended a lovely red wine. My fellow diners had ice-cream for pudding, while i had a delicious Bakewell tart flavoured cocktail. Service was spot on - attentive but not overbearing. A lovely evening!

Took my husband after shopping on the Kings Road and really pleased we did. Gem of a pub with gluten free fish and chips, perfect. Friendly staff and great vibe. Great food, great beer, great staff.

Used to be a great pub, service these days is awful! Teenagers serving behind the bar with evidently no training whatsoever, slow and not attentive. But, good roast and decent Guinness so will be back.

Great atmosphere. Came for a Sunday lunch with a group of five. Service was very slow and our roast lunch was cold. By the time it arrived we just wanted to finish up and get on with our day as most of the group were visiting London and had other things on their agenda during the afternoon. It looked lovely and would have tasted even better had it been warm.

Went for drinks and pub quiz this Sunday and it was the best pub quiz I have been to. Will the host is so energetic and entertaining, it really was an amazing night. I would highly recommend.

One of the best pubs in Chelsea. It is one of the few that is very much still a locals pub and doesn't try to be too pretentious or fancy. Specific mention for the manager Milo is always attentive, helpful and polite.

Avoid this place as the service was awful We waited 2 hours for our food! Probably the longest wait I’ve ever had in a London pub. We arrived at 8pm and ate food at 10.10pm- shocking. They need more staff in the kitchen.

Lunch today very unsatisfactory-took 40 mins to deliver the food. Crab linguine obviously had been sat on the side totally stone cold. Very little evidence of crab. When sent back simply put in the microwave to heat up so was dry and inedible. The Waldorf salad had no Walnuts 2nd dish Sea Bass - potatoes hard and undercooked - fillet of sea bass tiny - jus like watery gravy. When you pay over £100 (including a couple of drinks) you are entitled to expect better. Staff not interested when we complained. Very disappointing as we have been here a couple of times before and food was excellent. What has gone wrong? Sadly one to avoid for now. -

Without a doubt, this was one of the worst meals I have ever endured. We booked for a family meal, having not seen our son for a few months. The pub was busy with drinkers, but it was not well presented as a place to eat. There are just a few rough-looking tables at the back. When we were presented with the menu, HALF the dishes were not available; this was at 7pm on a Saturday evening. Whatever the problem and things do happen, the manager should have informed us they had a major problem with meat supplies and given us the option to leave. Stupidly, we ordered and the food, when we eventually got it, was awful . I had fish and chips and the fish was so sallty, it was inedible, my son was presented with a congealed blob of pasta. TBH I cannot believe the food was cooked by someone with ANY experience of cooking let alone a professional chef. We did get the starters taken off the bill, but really, we should not have paid; it was truly dreadful. If you are presenting yourself as a restaurant, you need to take responsibility for the fact people are booking dinner for a special event and have some BASIC standards.

Went for a lunch. Very slow service. Food arrived at least 40 mins later than order. Food is not great either. Ordered rib-eye medium rare, arrived definitely not rib-eye and well done. Would not recommend, used to be better. And would like to add that after my review, I was told that I’m incorrect in everything. So just to say, we felt very sorry for the waiter that was alone for the full shift and had to apologise for the mistakes he’s coworkers were making with our drinks. There is no need to scold a member of staff when there is an option to write a review that will be seen by a manager. Out of 6 dishes the only one that was enjoyed was the fish&chips. This is not the first time the food is unsatisfactory at lunch shift for me in this pub. Now definitely will not return.

The food was good quality as always and the plates were clean. However one side didn't arrive and we canceled it. The waiter was apologetic and admitted he forgot to order it. These things happen. The reason why my rating is 3 is down to the fact a pub like the Pheonix which is fantastic doesn't have any facilities to change a toddler / baby. It's not what I would have expected for a pub which I have always enjoyed going to and the staff member I asked didn't say sorry or have any reason for it. Otherwise it's a fantastic pub

Used to be better. Service was slow and lack lustre, food was more basic than the menu or asking price suggests. Ambiance has gone. Beer tasted funny, but they replaced it which gives them one star extra

A traditional pub in Chelsea. It's well worth the one minute walk off kings Road to get to this haven. A good selection of keg and cask beers and a good pub atmosphere.

The food isn’t my favorite pub food. It’s definitely getting better. The pub itself is a great ambiance. They have great board games and good drinks!

Charming pub with smart locals. Service was unfortunate. Waiter was withdrawn and depressingly slow. Food was quite tasty, when it finally arrived.

Service was a little slow as they forgot about their order Decent atmosphere for drinks and there was a pub quiz (on Sunday)

I waited 15 minutes to get served; people who arrived at the bar after me were served before I was, despite my best efforts. I guess it's all about assertiveness. The clientele is very boisterous in an Eton College-manner. If that's your thing, fine. It it isn't, beware. It was deafeningly loud when I was there, too, with music and roars from young men mixing into a ghastly cacophony of noise. The wines I consumed were, however, tasty, and the decor and seating are both rather good, though the bar stalls are agonisingly uncomfortable. I didn't eat here, but I wouldn't be surprised if the food is good, as I imagine the customers would demand quality cuisine. Overall, 3-stars seems fair. I won't rush back.

We had a very disappointing experience last night. We booked for 7.30pm but by 7 they had already run out of the best typical choices on menu. By 7.30 we could only order hamburgers which took ages to arrive & were not very good. The waitress did her best but service was slow. And it was expensive!! 3 starters, 5 hamburgers 10 glasses of ordinary wine £262 !! The pub was doing a vg Friday trade, selling 30 Fish & chips at one go but leaving nothing for anybody later. The kitchen must get its act together!

Very disappointing this time. The two servers were completely overwhelmed by the busy restaurant, got orders wrong, forgot orders and were extremely slow in delivering both food and drinks. Had to remind them several times. Food was poor. Onion soup watery and very small portion, Phoenix pie dry and reheated with some soggy broccoli. On this experience I would not go back. Chelsea has numerous very good gastro pubs to choose from.

You could never go wrong with a Sunday roast at The Phoenix! The food is absolutely delicious, definitely one of my favorite roasts in London. The manager James makes you feel welcome and you can always count on Julia´s exceptional service.

We ordered two snacks to share. They brought double our order, and then tried to argue that we had made the mistake. Even though he said you asked for one of each!!!!! Wrong chips delivered to. Very disorganised service. Not enough staff on, and cliental were all getting frustrated. I’ve been going to the Phoenix for over 20 years. It’s a lovely pub, but always the service lets it down.

James the GM was an excellent host and extremely attentive to customers despite how busy the pub was. A very nice place with a great wine list just off the Kings Road away from the hustle and bustle , would very much recommend to anyone stopping by.

Enjoyed a three-course meal, with wine recommended by the manager, James, who was generous with both his time and spirit. Watched a bit of football as well. Overall a great experience.

Had the most fabulous experience at the Phoenix last week. The highlight of our visit was the phenomenal service we had from Georgia - who went above and beyond to ensure that we were always taken care of!

Great service, will Allfrey was an amazing waiter

The server by the name of will allfrey was delightful and was able to serve extremely tasty food which was wonderfully accompanied by the fact that my dog was offered water as soon as we sat down. I could not recommend this pub enough as the atmosphere is great and really showcases what a pub should really be like.

Best Sunday lunch we’ve had for a long time

Was early to meeting a friend at the Phoenix and a charming barman called Tom kept me company. The pints of young sun were brilliant as well.

Got served by a lovely chap called Tom on a Friday - he made time to make conversation with me and made a wonderful old fashioned.

Great food really recommend the burger those fries were the best I’ve ever ha dand that’s coming from an fellow New Jersey girl where fries are a speciality 😂 service was also a 10/10 served by a beautiful girl named Georgia who made the loveliest G&T. Lastly the atmosphere of the pub was so comforting yet exciting all at once! So if your ever in London I really recommend to pop into the phoenix I had a lovely time!!! 🥰

Wow! I don’t normally go to pubs but The Phoenix really sets the standards high - from the charming and welcoming staff to the delicious food! The ales tasted exactly how I’d hope they would and I truly recommend it to anyone who knows their ales. Don’t even get me started on atmosphere of The Phoenix!! It’s sophisticated but also relaxing. I will definitely be returning! Come down to The Phoenix for pints, chit chat and good people.
