The food is incredibly good, the atmosphere pleasant and the value for money very balanced. We especially recommend the Sunday Roast. The only reason we don't give it five stars is the management of our reservation. We made a reservation for five people at 7:30 p.m., and upon arrival, our table was ready. However, the waitress rushed us to choose the food because the kitchen was about to close (understandably so). When we ordered roast beef, we were informed that you could only choose chicken, which we found disappointing. If there are availability restrictions depending on the time, they should indicate this at the time of booking or not take reservations. If you plan to visit this location, we recommend booking early to ensure all menu options are available. I'm attaching a photo of our plate, so you can see how good the food looks!

We stopped by just for just for a decent cocktail. I don't like waiting, however it a super busy Fridat night at "The Duke". But when Slavi served me I received my drinks promptly and error free. Furthermore, Slavi was professional and charming. Thank you Slavi and thank you "The Duke" for hiring such excellent team members.

What a pub!! Came in here for Sunday lunch and safe to say it did not disappoint. The food, service and atmosphere was brilliant. Should be renamed “Sasha, The Duchess of Wellington” because her service was fit for royalty!

Lovely pub with a great location for a mid-market lunch. Sasha helped us choose what to eat and brought everything out with a smile. What more could you want.

Sasha was the most amazing bartender, she made the best espresso martinis!

The girl with beautiful golden locks (Sasha i think) recommended that we should have margaritas and i assure you that they were spectacular!

We wanted a cold beer and couldn't have chosen a better place. Excellent beers, well accompanied by a good portion of fries, and very friendly staff. Very characteristic inside as is typical for English pubs. It is also convenient to use the app to book comfortably from the table, especially if you don't know the language well.

Was so disappointed in this pub. I had the bangers & mash there 3 years ago & loved it. Went there yesterday & had the worst bangers & mash ever. Absolutely no flavour to the sausages or gravy. The other disappointment was the bathroom. It was filthy. There were 4 toilets & none of them had toilet paper, there was a couple of rolls on the wet floor. One toilet was missing the seat. The pub does have a good atmosphere & the staff were nice.

Daniel is by far the best bartender in London. Very cool. Took my buddy’s shitty English accent in stride. Will be back for sure!

We ordered a fish and chips to share. Correct potatoes with 3 batters: one with good sardines, another with dry and scarce cod and a third without fish and so hard that it could be used as a blunt object.

4 of us had dinner on New Year's Eve, very kind staff, good food, excellent beer. Typical English atmosphere complete with a lit fireplace and Christmas tree!

Rip off. £23 for a small wine and 2 single g&t's. tonic was flat because they used remainder on already open bottle but charge for 2 new ones. Crass!!

4 of us arrived to eat, ordering 1 single meal and a sharing plate at the same time. Eventually the sharing plate arrived, but no small plates or cutlery, was told they would arrive shortly but 5 mins later had to go and ask "apologies we forgot"....the single meal arrived after the sharing plate was finished again after chasing it...staff didn't seem to care.. awful place avoid

Staff are really good and the atmosphere is great. Only slight was the food we ordered, scampi was all batter no fish and steak tough. The other thing being the emergency door that people keep using to go out to smoke and not shut behind them. Fine in the summer, but in the winter it lets in an arctic blast that makes the atmosphere inside unpleasant. These are first world problems, but just thought you should know.

Booked a table for Sunday roast for my family who were visiting London and utterly regret it. Would have gone anywhere else. Ghastly, dismissive service from waitstaff and pork roast came without crackling as advertised. An utterly disappointing experience the Sunday before Christmas.

For a pub in such a touristy spot they do an amazing job at serving high standard food for a reasonable price. The pub has a real fire with armchairs in one area. The sausage sandwich was incredible and again very reasonably priced.

Disappointing Sunday roast. The food was cold, no horseradish and just poor quality. The pub is nice but the toilets were filthy, to the point I refused to use them - Sanitary bins overflowing and no toilet paper in 2 out of 3 toilets. Our waiter Slavi was nice, but apart from that it was a disappointment.

We were delighted with our experience and Slavi, the waiter, had a lot to do with it thanks to his kindness and good humor. The beef and fish and ships were excellent!

Slavi was so great, made sure we had everything we needed and listened to our jokes and stories. It was so busy and packed but he still was able to get to everyone in a timely manner, really great service! Thank you Slavi!

We ordered short ribs pie and the sausages with mashed potatoes. Everything excellent. We would have liked more but it was very good. Slavi, our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We give it 5 stars. We gave us a low rating for the service due to the slowness but it is true that there were a lot of people as it was a Saturday market. Overall, I recommend it 100%.

Please be aware of pickpocketers and thieves at this establishment. Got my phone stolen while here and the staff “weren’t able to help”. They even mentioned that it also happened the day before.

I literally love this place. Cameate one afternoon for a Sunday roast and the place was rammed. We were so lucky they had one table left for us upstairs. We ordered the beef and pork (only one beef wellington left at around 2pm!) and both were amazing. Also sides are very delicious. I shall be retuning but this time with a booked reservation

Womens toilets disgusting. Taps all broken with a cork in the top, no water to wash hands. Toilet paper all over the floor.

We randomly walked into this pub, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. There was no need to wait for a table; you can simply sit wherever you find a spot. We tried the traditional Sunday roast, which was excellent and served in a generous portion. The barman was friendly.

Managed to get a nice table here and the food looked nice albeit a little on the expensive side. However service at the bar for drinks was terrible! Very slow and the girls behind the bar were chatting. We might have ordered food but decided against it given the poor service! I’d say the ‘girls’ behind the bar were attentive to some whilst completely ignoring others …

Mark was amazing, he looked after us really well. The food was delicious and we had a brilliant lunch. The decoration and setting were great, so many interesting things to look at. I would highly recommend coming here.

I had a lovely time at this pub. Its right in the heart of portebello so great for market day. The service was great! My bar tender Jacob was very welcoming and lovely, we had a very nice chat and he poured me a perfect pint of guiness! All in all its a great pub.
