Vardo Restaurant in Kensington and Chelsea

We had lunch and a few drinks on Sunday at Vardo and were served by Ben. The anchovy pizza was absolutely delicious and the cocktails were scrumptious ! We will definately be going back again soon. A big shout out to Ben ….. he is such a warm and friendly guy. Very polite and attentive and nothing wad too much trouble for him. Also … his excellent service came with a brilliant smile ! Keep up your excellent customer service Ben. You’re a true gem and an asset to your team !! Thank you very much !

Great food and service in the heart of Chelsea , the Kings road is a super fun place with great shops and restaurants and this is fabulous for lunch, highly recommended. Kieran Heffernan

I tried it for tea and coffee. The outdoor seating is very nice. It's worth a visit and enjoying the atmosphere and the seating. The area was crowded during Chelsea Rose Week.

We ordered pizza, and it was truly inedible: almost raw, with a tasteless and flavorless sauce, little cheese, and no taste of good mozzarella. In short, expensive and forgettable. I don't know if the other dishes are good, but the pizza certainly isn't. Too expensive for what we ate and the service we received. Except for the guy who showed us to our table, who was a sweetheart!

Had a delightful late lunch here yesterday, we had 5 small plates to share and it really hit the spot, food was very tasty, seasonal, colourful& delicious

It is a very nice place, can be busy. Food arrived very fast, despite being very busy. It was tasty, compared to competitors, portions were smaller for the price. Overall good.

Lovely position. Our waitress was not friendly or efficient. Coffee took 20 minutes to arrive. Not happy. .

The breakfast was delicious, but the portion was a bit small. The fried eggs were excellent and spectacularly brown. The waiters' service could and should be improved. They weren't very attentive and were somewhat distracted.

Marlon was super attentive and helpful. He made the experience 110%, highly recommend him as your donning host.

Visited here for a drink with my friend. Nice place in Chelsea. It was a hot day so we sat outside and the outside area is very nice and gets the sun. Definitely a nice spot to hang out and meet friends for drinks.

Always a treat to go to Vardo. What a staff, what great managers, Coco, Jimmy, and today, Jack was outstanding. We will keep coming back, not just for the food and atmosphere, but the staff and the wonderful managers.

I went for breakfast this morning to Vardo - Chelsea and the waiter Marlon was so lovely! Such a positive attitude, great service and genuine smile :) The food was delicious and very nicely served as well. Definitely recommend this restaurant! Will be back!

Food here has certainly improved over the years! Now a top brunch spot for myself, especially when the weather is nice as there is a large area of nice outdoor seating.

Overpriced even for London. Who charges £23 for a Cesar Salad which was 90 % lettuce, 5% chicken and 5% of the remaining ingredients. Coffee and hot chocolate arrived luke warm. Smallest bottles of Diet Coke were £5 each. I do not mind paying more than usual but the proportions should be preserved. Never again.

We visited here for brunch before a performance at the Cadogan Hall. It was an ideal spot within short walking distance. Lovely modern decor and relaxed atmosphere. The brunch menu has lots of choice and prices are reasonable for the area. I really enjoyed The Fry - great flavours and a good portion. However some elements were not very hot. Similarly my cappuccino was not as hot as I would have hoped. They were very happy to accommodate for my sister's very limiting dietary restrictions however the chef didn't seem to understand her order. She received just one element of what she had asked for which appeared as a "side dish" in a small bowl and not on a plate. She also asked for plain spinach, with no seasoning or dressing but sadly it was dressed with olive oil, which she cannot have. I would return here for a brunch but I would be reluctant to take someone with more complex dietary restrictions based on today's experience.

Visited during lunch hour on 4th May with my bestie, Rami. We only had two drinks on this visit; a mocha and a matcha with oat milk. The mocha tasted like any other mocha anywhere else. If you appreciate consistency, you’d be content. But if you’re looking for something special, na ah. Rami said the mocha was delicious, but he’s a doctor, not a barista, and the General Medical Council doesn’t test for coffee expertise. As for the matcha with oat milk, well, it was busy, so I understand if they were aiming for efficiency. The matcha looked rushed and definitely not whisked properly, but I’ll let it slide, since I was in a rush too. And as we all know, haste makes weird, lumpy matcha. Rami had a sip and said it tasted like raw salmon. But let’s be clear, he’s a full-time doctor and a lifelong matcha hater. Honestly, there should be a law against matcha slander. We’ll dismiss his commentary. The matcha was fine, not Uji matcha, but nothing to write to Kyoto about. A service charge was included in the bill, but today’s visit felt more like charity because we paid for almost nothing, or rather, a cold one. I appreciate they were busy and we were in a rush, but given the location, they’re meant to be busy. A busy restaurant calls for better service, not less, so it’s just a shame they missed that. To be fair, it could’ve been a nice place to hang out with your best friend. But it was the service, and the servers, that turned me off and made me feel like we needed to leave asap. But to the man with the gorgeous blonde beard who brought us drinking water and a spoon, you’re amazing. Thanks for trying. Your energy was right. Probably the manager, but definitely a good man. Vardo, maybe it’s Sunday, maybe it’s you. Maybe it’s just because I’m brown. But I don’t think I’ll stop by again.

This is one of my favourite places to go when you don’t have a reservation and need good quality food, accommodating staff and prime location. Many thanks for your service!

The food is ok, but not worth the price. Staff were friendly but were very slow. Food was brought out without cutlery and we had to ask three times just to get cutlery. Also had to ask a few times to get the drinks we'd ordered.

Such a lovely café/restaurant! I had their Speck, Egg, Confit Garlic and Rosemary Oil pizza, and it was sublime! Their coffee was delicious too! It's a very busy restaurant yet the staff were attentive and kind! I would love to go back for sure! Thank you!

Nice central place on the kings road, we sat outside which was lovely to watch the sun go down. Food & drinks were served quickly but just had to wait a while to order. Food quality & choice were good.

We tried to get a table in the sun (they had half the restaurant empty) and three waiters responded inappropriately that no, we should sit in the shade and that's it, even though there were empty tables.

Lovely but not quite competent staff. Sea bass had no flavour or seasoning. Friends said their pizzas were the same. What a shame.

It was a lovely sunny Saturday ,The place was super busy with a long queue so we had to wait few minutes then we got a very nice table We ordered a halloumi bowl which has yogurt , sweet potatoes ,mint & big piece of Hallomi , it was my first time trying this dish and I was anxious about picking this dish and if it was filling or not but it was amazingly delicious with lovely flavours We ordered ice latte which again was so refreshing and I asked for Decaf and they made sure to take extra care to serve me my decaf ice latte

It was a very frustrating experience, the waitress seemed to be irritated by us. she gave us a dirty water glass from another customer and insisted it was clean (she seemed to get confused when cleaning the table) then wouldn’t change it. Next my friends drink that she waited 20 minutes for went to the wrong table and the waiter insisted it hadn’t. When her drink finally arrived I ordered a second drink and this time it didn’t arrive for 30 minutes and my friend had already finished hers by then so she had to sit and wait for me to drink mine which was given to us on the house as I complained. It made us very late for the event we were attending after. It is very unorganised and I haven’t experienced service as bad as this in a while.

Amazing spot, I came across it walking down Kings Road. Stopped for a glass of wine and ended up ordering a couple of small plates. Wish I could’ve tried more! I was served by a friendly man who introduced himself as Jack. I will be back!

Great environment and great food but what really stood out was the service Leticia and Tahera were amazing always being attentive with a great smile and positive attitude from taking our order and throughout the whole experience and always checking up if everything was okay and if we needed anything.

It’s one of my favourite restaurants—the atmosphere is so peaceful, especially the garden area. It’s really enjoyable to sit outside and watch people in the park. The food is well-balanced and delicious. We’ve been here several times, and none of us have ever had a dish we didn’t like. The only downside is that the waitstaff are always quite inattentive.

Horrible servicio - ni siquiera nos molestamos en quedarnos. A pesar de que el restaurante estaba un tercio vacío, y un montón de mesas de ventana disponibles (no hay carteles reservados en ellos) nos dirigieron a una mesa en la parte trasera cerca del tráfico de servicio - cuando le preguntamos si podíamos sentarnos en una mesa de ventana la joven dijo "no, su reservado". Decidimos irnos y nos dijeron por otro personal, cuando explicamos por qué, "oh, quieres una mesa de ventana, no hay problema, por favor tomar uno"! Difícilmente hecho para una velada agradable. Sin duda saltar este restaurante.

This is my new coffee heaven! I usually have at least 6 sachets of sugar in my coffee. However, the coffee is so good that, for the first time ever! I had it without and, OMG! It was the best thing I've ever had! EVER!!!

Cool place to be and be seen (?) when you’re in the area or after walking around Saatchi Gallery and need a bite or drink. I ordered the burrata and croquettes from the small plates section and it was 50/50. I love me a burrata but the addition of black garlic, chili paste etc just drowned it out and the flavours don’t really go well together. I got some bread to see if that helps and it did by a bit. The croquettes were good though. If I come back, I’ll avoid the burrata and definitely try other things on the menu.

It was quite good but the dishes lacked finesse for me. I would have preferred my avocado toast with sliced ​​avocado and not pureed and the bread was quite average.

Such a great place for a delicious lunch, something for everyone, although today we had a selection of the small plates which were all amazing, especially the spicy cauliflower! Would recommend as a great break from work or shopping!

Wonderful food and very attentive staff. Flavours were incredible and the setting is a lovely place to enjoy breakfast on a quiet morning.

It’s a great spot to check out near the Saatchi Gallery. The hot smoked salmon grain bowl was absolutely delicious. If the sun’s out, it’s definitely worth sitting outside and soaking it all in.

Great wine and food . The labneh, the brioche and the tiramisu were the winners.

Excellent establishment, near the gallery, very well located, with an excellent terrace and a very beautiful view, you should not miss its homemade tiramisu, we have decided to return there often, I recommend 😉

A great place for breakfast, even better when it is quiet! We enjoyed a relaxed breakfast one wet January morning. I had heard of queues in peak times but we were seated immediately with quick order taking. Breakfast options included 'traditional' English breakfast, granola, porridge, fresh fruit and a selection of other cooked breakfast options. All the breakfasts were quick to arrive, hot and tasty. There were plenty of options for a vegetarian. The comfortable chairs and cool music made for a relaxing breakfast, with great music on the sound system.

Came in for a drink yesterday evening (Tues 15/1), greeted by an extremely nice guy at the door, fancied some cocktails and was helped by 2 guys at the bar who were quite knowledgeable when it came to cocktails, I left happier than I came in. The food was super delicious. I recommend the Halloumi dish. The pancakes are delicious but very sweet (perhaps you can ask if they can put the sauce on the side and then you decide how much to add) the bacon is delicious. Place to repeat

I had a really disappointing experience at Varda. One of the staff unhelpful, the other seemed completely unaware of how the order system worked, which just added to the confusion. Overall, the service was a mess, and it completely ruined the dining experience. Honestly, I would not recommend this place to anyone. There’s much better service to be had elsewhere.

Admittedly it was quite busy so our attempt to get a table was a tall order but the maitre d’ was pretty unwelcoming, suggesting that we wait outside for our table - note it was about 6 degrees and we had a baby with us in a stroller. Wasn’t the sort of place that I would be spending my money with that service mentality.
