Coopers Arms in Kensington and Chelsea

What has happened to the Sunday roast here? We have lived in the area for over thirty years and come here from time to time but the food yesterday was seriously not good. The attached photo of the roast beef will tell you all you need to know - that brown meat uuurgh. Plus the awful thin gravy. Cold roast potatoes. We had to ask where our food was as we waited nearly an hour for it, and I thought it had just been sitting under the light. Who knows. Fair enough the pub was busy but this was all extremely disappointing. We couldn’t face puddings or coffee so just left. Will need to go somewhere else from now on.

Great quirky looking pub with a nice interior and at the great location, with good quality food and drinks ,clean well looked after establishment!!!

Had the best time here. My husband and I married in a tiny ceremony at Chelsea Townhall and then had dinner for 17 in the Albert room at Cooper's Arms. Quentin and the team were great, the décor was lovely, and the food was brill. Thanks so much.

Very nice staff, this is our regular drinking spot as they are just down the road from our office. The staff even gave us free food last time i went to visit for no reaosn at all. LOVE THIS PLACE.

We had our civil wedding reception at Coopers Arms and it couldn’t have been more perfect! From the start speaking to Quentin he was so helpful and made us feel so at ease, making any adjustments not a problem. On the day the upstairs room was stunning and the service for drinks and food was exceptional. On the day Noah was on hand, always around making us feel looked after. The food was great and all in all the day was perfect. Couldn’t recommend this pub and space upstairs more for a wedding reception/ party. Thanks so much to everyone at Coopers Arms we had the most amazing time!

The food is good and the staff are friendly. However, they need to spend a little on the men’s toilets. A loo seat costs around £20-30. Please sort this.

I had an event in the upstairs room for 60 people. Quentin was extremely helpful with organising the event. It was good value and stress free. The evening was a great success

Such a lovely pub, great vibes!! Came in for drinks and the atmosphere is great, it also has a cute little garden too. Staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, especially Francesca who helped me pick a lovely bottle of wine!

Great experience and food. The main courses were a litte slow to arrive but when they did we realized why...all 6 plates together, fresh and beautifully cooked. Wait worthwhile for such high standards, delicious food and fantastic value for money. Pleasing surroundings. Pleasant, cheerful staff. So happy with the choice of this pub for Sunday Lunch.

My friends and I regularly go to the Coopers Arms to take part in the quiz on Tuesday evenings. Byron, our Quiz Master, conducts the evening with great aplomb and makes the event thoroughly enjoyable - even if we don't do very well!! Like his namesake, Byron is poetic, full of humour and incredibly patient!!! Thank you Byron!!!

Typical English cuisine (breaded cod and fries). Pleasant and efficient waiter, speaking French perfectly. A very fresh and pleasant Guiness for a dinner following a busy day of sightseeing...

The Coopers Arms has quickly become our local from the great atmos, sensible prices, and friendly service. We regularly attend pub quiz with Byron — well attended, well paced, and the highlight of our week! They’ve also brought aboard a new chef in the last few months who has been killing it in the kitchen. Altogether an awesome pub.

We stopped here for some drinks and were lucky enough to catch the start of the Manchester City v. Chelsea match. Great vibe with a good setup. They have a nice indoor and outdoor setting. Clean bathrooms and friendly service. Great spot!

A truly wonderful Tuesday night experience! Typical Tuesday night, the missus was kicking off (as per usual) so I decided to slip out for a cheeky pint and some food while she cooled off. I just so happened to stumble upon “The Cooper’s Arms”, right down the street from the Kings Road Waitrose. I usually have a lot of anxiety when going out because, as an incredibly handsome man, I’m far too used to the staff trying to flirt with me but luckily at The Coopers Arms the staff were incredibly professional and kept things respectful throughout my whole experience. Much to my surprise but also to my delight, there was a trivia quiz taking place that night (apparently it’s a staple that they do every Tuesday night), I decided to enter. What the host lacked in looks, he more than made up for in charisma and personality! I didn’t win any prizes (this time) but still had a great time! While looking over my answers, I enjoyed an ice cold and precisely poured pint of Guinness from one of the lovely and enthusiastic bartenders (haven’t had a Guinness this good since visiting family in Northern Ireland earlier on this year). While perusing the menu, I expected the usual suspects in the pub grub line up, which they did have but what really stood out to me was the selection of dishes one would expect in a fine dining establishment. This time I decided to go for the Chicken Schnitzel. Admittedly I was wary of the £17 price point but all my fears flew out the window when presented with a piece of chicken the size of my head as well as fries and peas. The chicken was already seasoned to perfection but also came with a chili honey glaze that was so good I took it home with me to eat off my wife later that night. Overall I had a wonderful experience at The Coopers and I can’t wait to return again. My highest regards to the Manager and supervisor as well, they both knew the menu like the back of their hands and were eager to answer any questions I had.

🚇 Sloane Square 🍺 £7.20 Camden Hells The Coopers Arms is located in a quiet residential street half-way between the King's Road and Chelsea Embankment in SW3. The nearest Tube is Sloane Square, it’s a ten minute walk to get here. This pub was established in 1831 and rebuilt in its present form in 1874. The pub sits on a corner of Flood Street, this is the street where Maggie Thatcher lived when she was prime minister. This is a good size Victorian one bar pub that is set out in an 'L' shape. The servery is centrally located and is clad in pale wood with a solid wood counter. The decor is contemporary mixing stylish wallpaper, exposed brickwork, comfy traditional seating and some nice touches like the Gramophone light fittings and d a huge moose head on the wall. At the back of the pub is a small courtyard beer garden. This Young’s pub has a decent beer selection that offers familiar favourites, craft options and two cask ales. I decided on a Camden Hells, my pint hit the spot, price point was on the high side. There is a classic British food menu available here, Fish & Chips costs £18.50. I arrived at 4pm on a Friday for an after work pint. The pub was fairly busy with locals of all ages, some were dining, a group of ladies were putting the world to rights over a glass or two of wine. The backdrop was a downtempo chilled soundtrack which set a nice tone. When I visit pubs in the posher parts of town, I often worry that I am going to be confronted by rows of tables filled with cutlery, but not here. This pub has local pub vibes and offers drinkers a relaxed and convivial pub experience. A wedding meal in the upstairs room. 3 courses were faultless. The welcome and service excellent too. Perfect venue especially if the wedding is at Chelsea and Kensington Registry office.

Probably the nicest and the most sophisticated pub in London. Very friendly staff, great food, not typical for a pub, more exquisite. Loved the place. Interior is tasteful and I could literally sit and look at all the details for good hour.

I was here last year and a gentleman called Thor served us. I’m not sure if I’m spelling that right but he was great! He made our customer experience spectacular.

Found this place by chance after having left the Gin Festival at Chelsea Town Hall. We were on our way back to Victoria Station and the welcome sight of this corner pub came into view. The food menu looked just what we needed after an extensive tasting session. The selection of beers and lagers was pretty good. So, we had the burgers and the fish and chips which were very well presented and full of flavour. The atmosphere was friendly and getting ready for the England v Switzerland match but above all the staff were absolutely lovely and helpful. A great find. Thank you.

We booked the meeting room upstairs and were able to enjoy complimentary drinks downstairs, a service organised by the staff. We found the Arms very accommodating for our needs .

Excellent again! The Lamb Wellington was superb. Great service and atmosphere, a good wine list (the Zinfandel is very nice), and all very reasonably priced for Chelsea.

It's not the place to have dinner. The food is mostly fried and very poorly executed. As a place, it is very noisy too. Perhaps it could be good there for a drink. But nothing more. It will take this pub, a lot of pride, effort, and attention to detail to get to a level worth aspiring to.

If you wanna find a good place for Sunday roast you cannot miss this place. Delicious food, great choose of beer and drinks, friendly staff and moose head on the wall. What you want more? Definitely order toffee pudding. You should book seats or wait outside drinking beer.

The range of beers were well-chosen, the wines and cocktails were very sippable, the food was classic English AND delicious (yes, that’s possible!) The atmosphere was welcome to adults, children and dogs alike and the staff was both by charming and accommodating! We will be back!!

A night stopover in SW1 and thinking 'what to do?'. Google search pub quiz in London led me to the fabulous Cooper's Arms. Great welcome by the staff. Joined a team short of quizzers and despite losing the main quiz still managed to win a pint on the spot quiz. (66 horses). So thanks all. Great beer. Fab service and if I have stopover in SW1 again I'll be back. The walk there and back along the river was the added bonus.

We stumbled upon this pub on a day out. Had a lovely roast which was delicious but the staff really upped the experience. They were super lovely and friendly. Will def 'stumble' across this sweet venue again.

A brilliant pub! I have had the pleasure of drinking and eating at the coopers quite a few times. I have never had a bad time. Stimulating quizzes on Tuesdays and delicious roasts on Sundays. The staff are one of a kind; proper characters providing excellent service. Exquisite!

A traditional pub in the heart of Chelsea. We just went in for a drink, but lots of people were eating and the food looked good. They have a good range of beers and friendly, efficient staff. Can't ask for more.

Another amazing night at Cooper's Arms. A great Christmas party, Ellie was great, she look after us so well. Winter warmer and red wine in a plenty. The staff were very fun.

Hired the function room for our work's Christmas meal, followed by a leaving party for the CEO. The planning, communication, and event-management were all top-drawer. The Christmas dinners, drinks, and canapes were all excellent. With special thanks to Q.

Nice looking pub, arrived at 15:50 for 16:00 reservation. Took a seat at the bar. Asked about our reservation, staff wandered off. Asked again, said would get back to us. Numerous other people waiting for tables. Staff looked stretched and in bit of disarray. Food coming out to other tables looked average and took so long to appear in one case that the occupants just left. Waited a while with no update, so finished a very average pint of Young’s Original and gave up. Had some great food elsewhere, suggest you do the same.

Very poor service and below average food. I was made to wait over 10 minutes to get seated and was asked to go ask the manager/host who also made me wait. During this time a couple walked in and got seated immediately by someone who just pointed at a free table while I was standing awkwardly. The staff was overall unwelcoming, unkind, and a bit rude. Food was cold and mediocre at best. Will not come back, a shame since I live on the street.

Had a private dinner in the Albert Room. Reached out to organise very last minute but Anestis and the team were incredible on getting everything sorted on a last minute basis. Was great dinner in a lovely setting and our party had an amazing time. Would highly recommend and do again very soon!

I’ve been to the Coopers a few times now and every time I’ve been blown away by the friendliness of the staff! A particular shoutout to George, one of the barmen, who was particularly welcoming and knowledgeable! Would thoroughly recommend to anyone and I will be back again!

A lovely, somewhat off the beaten track off pub in the heart of Chelsea! Homely decor with some stand out features (shout out to the moose in the corner!) and some excellent staff. Have been a few times now and would throughly recommend both for food and for more casual drinks! The scotch egg is not to be missed!

A great pub in the heart of Chelsea. I have visited a few times for both food and drinks and have had an excellent experience with both! The staff are incredibly friendly and healthy and I must say the scotch egg is of particular note! Will be back again!!

What a good pub this is ! It's the third time our group of ex teachers has used the Cooper's Arms at lunchtime. Excellent service , food and drinks.

Over twenty friends had a lovely lunch in the Albert Room on a miserable stormy day, and we were looked after so well. The room is gorgeous, the fire was lit, we had tasty food and great service from George. Anestis set us up brilliantly and gave us a very warm welcome. Had a lovely Sunday roast at this relaxing pub, in the heart of old Chelsea. Staff are warm and welcoming, the service is great. Lucky to have this as my local, highly recommend for a cosy meal or drinks.

We visited recently to go to the event upstairs at The Coopers Arms, Tuesday 26/09/2023. It was a bit of a mixed bag. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. The staff varied really…,when we arrived the guy behind the bar could hardly raise a smile and when we mentioned about the speaker upstairs, he didn’t know what we were talking about and just shrugged his shoulders. He and the other staff had no idea and we watched other customers treated the same. The tall guy waiting on the tables spilt some chips which were by the serving hatch waiting to go to customers. He picked them up with his finders and put them back in the serving pot and took them to the customer.. yuck!!! It was all a bit grubby and hit and miss. It made me wonder about the overall hygiene standard!
