Nice friendly pub with tasty food just a stone’s throw from Kensington Palace. Chatty helpful barman, often a rarity in a tourist area.

Great beer offer, the chips were also really good, and most importantly the staff was exceptional, super kind and friendly, definitely a reason to come back

I had a really fantastic experience in this pub. I was staying close to here in an Airbnb and got to try Dishoom Kensington and Prince of Wales in the same night. The exterior is very classic and ornate and has an estate-home feel when you first enter. The walls are decorated with fine art — a very comfortable place to have a drink. The service staff was very friendly and made me feel like a local. There is a very friendly atmosphere here, and the various international and local patrons are all very friendly. This has been unlike most bar experiences I've had in the US. I only wish I could have come out earlier to try the food! A must-visit spot.

The food here is good. Classic English pub food - which is why we chose it for dinner. However, the reason for the 5/5 definitely has a lot to do with the service here. Special mention to Nathan the barman for making a 10/10 cocktail and ensuring we had a lovely experience and were well looked after!

He had a great dinner, award winning Steak &Ale Pie and Fish cake and salad! Staff is really friendly and the service fast. We love it and be back one day!

Walked early to watch the semi finals..all regular seated tables were reserved but the bartender was kind enough to take 5 mins and give me some other options as to where we might plant ourselves for the match. Two Americans walk into a London Pub…having arrived first thing in the morning we were craving fish & chips for lunch. This place did not disappoint. Service was lovely and prompt. If we lived closer we’d be back again and again. Thank you for your hospitality🙂

Found this pub after we had visited Kensington Palace and the lady was absolutely lovely, had a lovely chat, ordered fish and chips and it was yummy. Will definitely visit again. Few mins walk either from Kensington Palace or High Street Kensington Station.

Standard pub feel, good atmosphere. Can see it being nice for sports events. Food was good, I got the BLT but it was odd that the bread wasn’t toasted (although that could be the American in me)

yes as a tourist pubs are new to me! A little tight and cramped inside. we were watching the euro cup but there was no sound.. i ordered the seasoned fries as well but there was no seasoning! And to top it all off there was a hair in the salad. probably from the cooks beard. music was pretty good. chairs a little uncomfortable but we survived!

Great place to drop in for a bite while visiting Kensington Palace

This place was extremely disappointing. No music playing. Waited 45mins for our food and 30mins after ordering we were advised that they had run out of steak for the steak sandwich and would have to order something else. The roast beef was extremely dry and the service was so slow. Glad that I'm just a traveller in this country.

There was no kitchen after 9:00 p.m.

One of Green King pub at just off busy high street Kensington. Nice to pop in to have a cold pint in this cozy old little pub after a long walk for shopping. The food is traditional pub menu and nothing special, but is variety, reasonable and tastes good. The bar staff are friendly and good service. TV's on for watching sports games. No garden or courtyard for smokers.

This is a friendly pub that would have been great for drinks. However, the food was some of the worst I've seen in London. The fish in the fish and chips was more like a potato crisp than fish and was inedible. The steak and ale pie was fine, but felt like a microwavable meal rather than something coming out of a kitchen. So, if you go here for a few drinks with friends then that would be perfect, but don't go hungry.

Awful service. I can cook a better burger at home. It took forever and I realized why. They burnt it.

Stopped for a quick drink, good selection - however only one person behind the bar serving (Thursday late afternoon) so the service was extremely slow.

It was a brilliant night after the concert at The Royal Albert Hall. However, disappointed that a pub in Central London can run out of larger and other drinks. Forward planning me thinks.

Our pints of Greene King IPA (the flagship draft ale) were tainted with the taste of the cleaning fluid used to flush the lines out. The manager on duty was very casual about this, saying the beer was just 'off'. I know off beer and this was not - it tasted of bleach. Our pints were replaced but the whole service experience was very poor.

Pub is nice inside if you wanna go for a drink but don’t bother with the food. I’ve been to pubs before when the food is alright but still eatable but this was something different! I don’t know how this has a 4.2 rating legit the food is frozen bag stuff. Got the steak which was cold luke warm at best. Had family get the scampi and seriously an 8 year old could have cooked it better which I don’t know how because it was all a store bought packet frozen garbage.

Being a bit harsh maybe because this wasn't my choice to visit. This is a long dark pub with quite a lot of access issues for people with mobility by issues. It's long, dark and narrow with a really tight space in the women's toilets. I could barely squeeze past when the staff were attempting to refill the soap dispenser and the toilet roll. They also need to use timed air freshening units. There's an unpleasant odour of fish, floor spill, and peculiar wet plastic gloves smell. Apologies for graphic description but lm definitely nose sensitive as an owner of a large Roman snout. My order of a half shandy was misheard as a pint. The lemonade out into bore no resemblance to a lemon whatsoever and level head ale described as a darker pale ale ( oxymoron) was definitely not. I like a dark shandy made from beers like Doom. My own fault perhaps for asking to taste a couple of the tap. I find pubs less keen to do that when they know you're gonna dilute it with a soft drink. To be fair l was refunded half of the cost of the mistaken pint of shandy. I drank less than 10% of it. No repeat visits here.

Finally, draft Guinness! Very good! The food also. An amazing hummus recipe. The sweet potatoes were also delicious.

A day after I was faced with a horrible experience, I came back at the request of the GM, Laura. She took ownership of the situation, was kind and did not try to waffle me around, admitting that yesterday, things really gone wrong and hope that today, things will look much different. And indeed, they have. This time around, I was pleasantly surprised with the food and the service, making it a certain that I will be visiting again next week. Thanks.

A proper old fashioned pub. We did the Palace, the lion King etc but still came back to this little boozer.
