Pizza Express in Kensington and Chelsea

Our food came out cold. The chilli prawns were awful tiny frozen shrimp with no flavour. My al forno carbonara was cold, with absolutely no crispy top, which is precisely how the dish is meant to be served. The service was extremely slow, we waited with our empty plates on the table for half an hour, before I eventually went up to front desk to pay. When I said I had waited a long time, the manager said “did you bother trying to call someone over”. This is awful service and I’m incredibly disappointed.

A lovely building on the King’s Road that we were looking forward to visiting. The outdoor seating area is nice enough. That was about the only good thing. Inattentive staff - one ignored us but greeted and seated a woman and kids that came in after us. We did eventually catch a waiter’s eye and he brought menus, but then just left us. The main issue for us was it was uninspiring. The same old food on the menu, much of which isn’t allowed on the ‘fixed price’. To get the ‘offer’ you have to belong to the ‘club’. We’ve had trouble with that before - where you have to pay the bill via the app - for each person separately. On this occasion the app refused to load on our phones - just a blank white screen despite having good 5G signals. I could login via the website but that was also troublesome. We gave up and left - lunch at the pub over the road was better!

We visited Pizza Express on a busy Sunday evening. Despite the beautiful ambiance and the wonderful service from a hardworking lady outside we were let down by the awful quality of the food. It's a shame that the beautiful atmosphere wasn't matched by the taste of the dishes at all!!!!

We attended a Dean Friedman evening downstairs at the Pheasantry. The waiter, Laila, was lovely, but the prawn starter had no taste at all, and our pizzas were overcooked, dried up and burnt underneath. We could not cut them they were so burnt, we had to use our hands to tear them apart. (I had a four seasons) We didn’t make a fuss because we knew they were busy and didn’t want to be a burden, but our bill was over £110 for 2, so now I regret not sending the pizzas back. Dean Friedman was amazing as usual.

The Pizza Express on the Kings Road is a famous old building and very suitable for a restaurant. Nice outdoor seating and live music at weekends.

We arrived here for a Home Education Group workshop where the attendees were all able to learn about pizza and the ingredients, as well as semi-creating their own. The attendees got to spread the dough onto their pizza pan base and add the sauce, and toppings were added. Each person's pizza was numbered, so we all knew who's was who's after, and we had the option to eat in or take it away. Which was fantastic. The majority of us left, and a small handful stayed. The session was in such a beautiful, and to me, taking a step back into time. Such a stylish room. The workers were fantastic. They were polite, friendly, and going out of their way to ensure that everyone was catered to and having a good time. This was our very first session back, and as such, this was a great way to start off the academic year. Manager: Sonia She was a go-getter, an energetic woman who was just flourishing with positivity, and you just smiled around her. Pizzeria facilitator: Anna She was knowledgeable and great with the children. She was just as lovely as the manager and had such a great aura about her. Even the chefs were just as friendly and were up for pictures, too. It just seems to be that the entire restaurant are happy within their work environment, and they all seem to get along. We had such a lovely experience, and we will be back for another workshop, just based on the whole welcoming and friendly experience alone. The pizza is a bonus and tasted great!!

On Tuesday 27th June, a large group of Year 4 pupils from Hill House International School visited Pizza Express The Pheasantry in Chelsea, for lunch. On arrival, the friendly staff greeted us with big smiles and kindly showed us to our tables. As we walked through the courtyard, we couldn’t help but feel we were somewhere exotic due to the Mediterranean feel and the gorgeous design of the outdoor area. It was hard to believe that we were among the busy streets of London! Shortly after sitting down, our drinks were swiftly brought to us by the polite waiters. As it was a scorching hot day, we greatly appreciated the fact that the drinks were well chilled and therefore, very refreshing. As we looked around, we noticed that the restaurant was extremely clean. The tables, chairs and ground were spotless with not a crumb to be seen. Before we knew it, our mouth-watering margarita pizzas were delivered to our tables. One word to describe these pizzas: OUTSTANDING! The bases were fresh and crispy, the tomato base was flavourful and the melted cheese on top was incredibly stretchy and delicious. After finishing our divine pizzas, the thoughtful staff promptly cleared away our plates and then brought us all out glasses of water. Prices were very reasonable and we left feeling very satisfied. We have thought back very fondly on our dining experience at The Pheasantry and we are very much looking forward to returning and trying more from their extensive menu. If we could rate this restaurant 6 stars, we would!

Food is fine, but we ordered (and paid for) a bottle of wine which never arrived - and were charged service for!

The Pizza Express on the Kings Road is excellent. To start with it’s a great old building with a grand entrance. Food and service also great.

We booked on the first day it was open as we like Bobby. Stuck on awful seats as it seems the best ones were reserved for sycophants. The people around us were awful with people eating an hour into the show full force especially friends of the band or birthday girls. Used to be a nice venue.
