We were excited to try an Indian gastropub having visited when the place was Bodegas before. As soon as we entered we felt an opposite atmosphere to Bodegas with the restaurant feeling and looking very dull and gloomy and slightly run down. This wasn’t helped by some tacky fluorescent lighting and loud random music from a tv music which made it feel as if we were in a sports bar. It seems as if the atmosphere and branding needs investment and help from a consultant. They should also look for inspiration from other Indian gastropubs for decor/atmosphere. It’s a shame as the place has potential and the food and drink wasn’t bad at all. The place could also do more promotion from a social media and online perspective as many aren’t aware of the place. I’d like to give the place another chance but think the atmosphere and vibe needs improvement.
I’m providing this feedback as I want the restaurant to survive and hope the owners do take note. I honestly believe investing in the decor and atmosphere instead of the current mismatch will help to attract people in.
First visit to this restaurant this evening after recommendation from a family member.
Lovely welcome from the manageress who explained the different dishes and how spicy they might be!
We all had lamb dishes were delicious and melt in the mouth!
We also had various starters which we shared and they were all very good!
Will definitely go back!
It was very quiet, I only hope this was because it was a Sunday evening and that the place gets more customers!

I’ve never had a problem with ordering food from here. It’s always arrived hot and fresh. They adhere to my requirements and food is always as I like it and tasty. Delivery drivers always pleasant too. :)
Best for beef in Watford if you're after Brazilian food. We've been to a few Brazilian restaurants in and around Watford (my wife is Brazilian) and the beef served beats everywhere else hands down. It's a buffet style set-up where you serve yourself things like rice, black beans, salpicao, etc and then the staff comes around to serve chicken and beef off a skewer (it's cooked bbq style I think). The beef was excellent and the best Brazilian food I've tasted for a while.
A friendly neighborhood pub with a warm environment. The owner John immediately recognized us as strangers and went out of his way to be sure we felt welcome. We had a wonderful time and felt safe and comfortable. My phone was almost dead and he immediately offered to charge it. It was my wife’s birthday and he was kind enough to buy her a drink. We stayed longer than planned because it was THE favorite pub of the trip. As a queer couple he made us feel completely welcomed.
Kindly made a delicious chicken doner with a fresh baked naan for my girlfriend and I when hungry. Was extremely good quality and quick polite service. Thank you so much
Gave me and my family food poisoning! Horrible service and food. For £31 I got 2 shockingly tiny medium pizzas, and the pizzas was severely undercooked. When I called the restaurant they said they were “too busy” to drop off another pizza and didn’t give me a refund. Waste of money and rude service. I would believe other bad reviews and not order from here.
