The best dumplings I’ve ever had. The callaloo is always seasoned to perfection. Chickpea curry is hella tasty and the veggie patty is just the best flavor and perfect level of flaky.

The food was nice but prices were expensive in my opinion. Service was fine but there was no real atmosphere.... I don't remember seeing any tables or areas to sit & eat a meal.

I had the Curry chicken and rice and peas. The aroma of the shop is delightful and the food is delicious it's the perfect spiciness for the first time eating it, definitely recommended! Definitely the best places I've ever eaten from.

Again another superb experience at Kelly's . I had the most delicious oxtails ever. The meat was so tender and succulent that I could have eaten another portion! As for the jerk chicken it was marinated with authenticity and cooked to perfection . Whenever I feel the need to eat some ' homefood' Kelly's is the best place.

Only problem with my Friday night meal is that the weekend can only get worse from that point onwards...

The rice & peas and the fried dumpling were nice, but the curry chicken had no flavour to it at all. Very bland, no spice and the chicken didnt seem cooked. Have been suffering with stomach pain ever since. I wont be going there again.

Trust me I am Jamaican and know my food 😁 We have tried all the dishes on the menu and I must say each time we weren't disappointed. Every meals are prepared with passion & love - no rush. The curry goat/ mutton is tender and the spices just right...Escovitch fish is a must! You can taste the Carribbean in each spoonful ...The fish is nicely flavoured, spicy but not too hot and quite meaty. Needless to mention the 'festival' a sweet & fried dough which is a great accompagnement for this succulent dish. We washed it down with homemade juice ( carrot juice, fruit punch etc). You cannot beat this natural taste. I could go on and on....We cannot get enough of it! As for the staffs, they are pleasant, polite and always there with a smile to welcome you. All in all, Kelly's tick all the boxes, this gem is highly recommended❤️❤️❤️

Have driven past this place so many times and have said we have to try it, and today I’m so glad we finally did. We were so so happy with the food. We had jerk chicken, fried chicken, curry chicken, plantains, dumplings & rice and peas. Food was lovely, staff were lovely too. Honestly cannot fault the experience at all. If you’re in the area I highly recommend you give Kelly’s kitchen a try 👍

However get in early to save disappointment as the food sells quickly. ----------------------------------------------- Under new ownership, food is still good, prices have gone up and the portions have reduced significantly!! hopefully this isn't the norm now..

Where do I even start ! We had our traditional engagement in watford ( Jamaican x nigerian) and unfortunately we had a mishap with some of the Caribbean food with our original caterers resulting in considerably less food being available for our guests. I called Kelly spice in desperation to be honest having no prior knowledge of the company and 5 hrs before the event was to start. I explained the situation and not only did they provide the food it was absolutely insane ! Had so many compliments from the guest about the quality of the food and I am grateful for the swift action take in a high pressure situation meeting the owner was also a blessing helped reassure us that it will be done on time and embraced the challenge with a smile. They have definitely earned some new regular customers !!!!! KELLY SPICE FOR THE WIN 🔥 I would add a picture but all you would see is the empty containers 😂😂

So rude. Attitude of the staff is terrible. Walked out of the shop without ordering, due to how they looked at me and spoke to me. It’s like they are the sales prevention team. After reading through reviews here, seems the good reviews are from back when Rose was the owner. Then consistently after, lots of bad reviews due to lack of service and bad food. I agree, this place is a long way from how Rose ran it. Didn’t get to try the food but from what I have now read about the food as well, I’ll be going out of town for my curry goat from now.

Myself and a friend ordered one beef patty (for me) and one chicken patty (for my friend- who is Hindu) got home and both were beef. Neither were labelled and my friend had nothing to eat. Kelly's - if you can't tell which is which start labelling your items.

The food is better and taste more authentic than previous shop. I ordered stew chicken...it was so delicious and really good portion size with a bit of plantain in it...well done Kelly's! Keep up the good work, keep the portion sizes hearty, and authentic jamaican flavours. Can't wait to come back and try more.

Im so glad that this caribbean had opened up in watford. The price is so good for the quality of food you get here. I love curry goat and jerk and theres no better place in the whole area to get your Jamaican. The staff are brilliant, super friendly and everyone should try it!

This place has gone downhill since it changed from Roses , the food was cold and i ate yesterday now i have food poisoning.

So gutted that this place is under new management, the cooks have changed and the jerk chicken and coleslaw I was always so longing for are not as good. This jerk sauce is way too tangy and the coleslaw is too mushy and too sweet. If they could get the recipes from the previous owners I'd definitely come back, otherwise I'll have ro give it a pass. Wishing the new team good luck though, I am sure some people will like the food, but once you have tasted Rose's food, it's difficult to find better

I am not one to write a review, but I had to on my experience on this place. We used to come to Rose’s years ago when there was two ladies here and a lovely gentlemen who used to be so nice and polite. I am not to sure was has happened to this place now but my experience and food was just awful. I went here yesterday for the first time in a long time, and was very much looking forward to it. Firstly the lady who was serving needs to improve on her people skills and have some lessons in customer service, because it’s shocking. She is just so rude. Secondly, there was no steamed veg or plantain to go with the meal that cost me £25 (for 2 meals). Thirdly, my food was stone cold, so I gathered it wasn’t fresh. Not only was it cold, it tasted AWFUL. I don’t know what I was served, but it was not authentic brown stew chicken. Fourthly, me and my partner had a terrible bad stomach this morning, and we know it was caused by the food here. I will NEVER ever return here even if you paid me too.

Have seen this place a few times on the way back from getting my haircut and decided to try it out for the first time today. I ordered the jerk chicken and Mac n cheese and it was beautiful !!! Highly recommend and I will definitely be back again ASAP !!

Tonight was the first night I've eaten here, I gotvthe mutton soup and BBQ chicken meal, it was absolutely delicious 😋 😍 😊 I would highly recommend people order from Rose's, I'm definitely going back 😋 😊.

Ordered a Caribbean lunch for a hen party last weekend. Communication with Theresa was great beforehand and the rice and peas, curried goat, curried veg and coleslaw was amazing. Great portions, fresh on collection and all the guests absolutely loved the food! Will be ordering again for my next party! Thank you guys!!

What a delightful entity Rose has working for her. I actually rang up and didn't get past the order before the phone was put down on me. I was listing what I wanted and imagine someone( she) who has been spoken about in so many reviews. 'She' is real and her behaviour is just as real. Its laughable its like that pub in Central London where you go to be offended. She should be made a Watford treasure. It has been a long time since I've heard someone truly fly the flag, run with the tourch of such Olympic valour to truly stick to the narrative and stigma of a stereotype. She a Gold in my eyes.. You can't get that type of commitment overnight. That's dedication... I am not worthy! A large family meal today was on order, I hadn't even got as far as ordering the Friday specials ( Yes that was plural). I hadn't even reeled off the children's list before I was asked in a condescending manner re: hard food. What is it to you what I want in my order, how I'm going to consume it or sit there and want to school me on my order. Have I got the money to purchase: Yes Then let me be on my way the please ....Miss! £50 may not be a lot of money to some, but today it would have been spen and more..( we hadn't even got to the drinks). It has been a pleasure not eating the food that would have been touch by blight hands and malice.. Im not hurt or ranting 8 feel quite honoured to be part of the experience 🤣

If you are looking for rude and disinterested staff, you've come to the right place! I've been coming here for couple of years now as I work locally and the food is always great and service good when served by Rose herself. However, there is one particular young lady who is rude WITHOUT FAIL! One visit (6 months ago) I was rushed off the phone by the young girl and told it's my fault the order was wrong, even though I told her my order 3 times! This young girl kissed her teeth, plonked the food on the counter and shoved the card reader at me. This was a horrible experience but thought everyone else has always been so nice so thought I would give it another go 2 days ago. When my girlfriend called (on loudspeaker )to place the order. I instantly recognised the rude disinterested voice I had dealt with previously. She kept asking "is that it" reads the order back which was correct and hung up. When I get to the shop the order is short of 1 dish which I point out to her. This young lady rudely says she read the order back to us so go and speak to your girlfriend about it.I said I was listening to the call to know what had happened. She kisses her teeth and says " I can't be bothered with this" and walks off leaving another polite woman to take my order instead. This is the attitude this company have for their loyal customers? I told her to keep the food as all she had to do was say no problem and add to the order and all would have been forgotten. Too many of my colleagues have the EXACT same experience with her. Never will any of us spend a penny here as long as this rude girl is employed here! The sad part of it all is the only thing that came to mind is this is a typical experience in a Jamaican restaurant. In future, employing people who care about your customers is a good start. Looking at the previous reviews this is a repetitive problem, instead of replying to your negative reviews maybe it's time you took actjon. Good luck

Shame we didn't even get a chance to try the food here as the woman on the phone was so dry and rude that I didn't even want to spend my money there! Maybe find someone else to take orders as she will no doubt put alot of people off which is a huge shame for your business.

I'm giving this place a 5 star for food and a 5 star to Rosie for being such a sweet human being however there's 1 girl that works in there who gives you a look like she wants to kill you she has one stinking attitude she does not smile at you when you walk in she doesn't make you feel welcome she doesn't smile or interact the first thing she says is what do you want she will make you feel like you have walked into the wrong room she will roll her eyes at you and kiss her teeth at you the experience at rosies would be flawless with out her being there apart from that the food is 10 10

Had a Goat curry (loads of goat), plantains and jerk and other sides, the food was excellent, proper home cooked, real food. Service was warm and welcoming. Wish they had a place in Wales to visit. The homemade sorrel is well worth a try. It’s beautiful, especially cold with a little rum.

The veey first time i called this take away to place an order i was put on hold even before saying hello. I was on hold for almost 15 minutes. I could hear the staff in the background having conversations whilst im on hold. I eventually hang up the phone. I was not impressed as someone told me the food was really good so i wanted to try it for myself. A few weeks later i tried again and got through with no issues. I suggested they put their menu online as i couldn't find it, the lady said they will and thanks for the feedback. So this evening i thought let me place another order as the food was actually very nice. I am not sure who made the employee angry but her tone on the phone was very unprofessional. I stated i wanted to place an order for delivery and explained that i wanted it all in portions and not mixed. This went right over her head as she asked me the same question half way through my order. She kept saying, is that it, is that it whilst im still ordering. Once i said i was done i asked for the total, she just passed the phone to a colleague without any warning. I was so confused as to what was happening. Her tone was so unproffesional and uninviting. I gave my address and asked how long the delivery would take. I was told up to an hour and a half. I just cancelled my order. After these experience i have no desire to order from there again as i think customer service goes a long way.

Custom service was horrendous. After making an order which turned up without my coleslaw I suggested the driver should bring me a portion of plantain instead as I had finished my meal and couldn’t surely be expected to eat 2 pots of coleslaw on their own but when I called to speak to someone rather than being courteous and apologetic I was met with disrespect and attitude and told to eat the coleslaw on its own. Large Ackee and salt fish was literally a box of rice with ackee pretty much no salt fish , definitely won’t be supporting this shop again.

I’ve tried both the jerk chicken and brown stew chicken from here and both are 10/10, great portion sizes & authentic tasting jollof rice. Will definitely be returning.

Food is Gorgeous! Travelling up from South London (Brixton area), this is the only take away shop I'll go to in Watford! The fried and bbq chicken is soft, juicy and tender. I 110% recommend. You can tell its all fresh and good quality, not over fatty or veiny. Good portion size for your money and I was served quickly every visit. The shop is a very clean and open space. Good music in the background for a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. And the customer service is polite and friendly. I never leave unsatisfied. I will be returning again soon no doubt! Thank you :)

I spoke to Rose and she is a very kind wonderful lady who helped me out with a takeaway and i cannot thank u enough Rose and Ricky for bring us our amazing dinner. If u want true amazing Jamaican food then come here Call Rose but get in quickly as they run out very fast! Just make sure to call the restaurant as the takeaway apps keep saying they are closed when they are OPEN!! Please try it if u never had this type of food as its the best there ever is and Rose is just amazing again thankyou so very very much Rose 🌹 stay safe as we will order again and again now we found u ❤ 😊

Wat a joke!!!! Wait nearly 3hours for my food only for them to call me an hour in to ask my order again and then to be told they dnt have want we wont. We called so many time were our food was they kept saying it's on it way. They offered me 1 can of drink wen there was 3 meals. Then to top it off they still got the oder wrong. For the price of the food and the wait food still turned up like s**t never ordering from here again. Chicken was so dry. Then to be given wat felt like microwave dinner

If you know Watford, and you know the St Albans Road near the main railway station, then you will have entered Restaurant ville. There is an eatery or takeaway literally every 10 yards. Competition is fierce and the multicultural residents in Watford are represented at every turn. There are a couple of Caribbean restaurants in Watford, and this particular venue scores extremely highly in many aspects. Let’s get real. The food is to die for, in fact I drive over 30 miles to this hallowed emporium because I simply know that no where else is good enough. Forget your Turtle ***s and other chain Caribbean restaurants run by people who don’t even employ Caribbean chefs. If you want to savour food that could have been cooked in Montego Bay, Kingston or Barbados. If you want to have your lips tingling with the aromatic jerk, or the creamy akees that melt in your mouth, or the spicy rice and vegetable fare with callaloo, spinach or fried dumplings then there is only one place to go within 15 miles of Watford. There are African outlets nearer to London masquerading as Caribbean outlets, but trust me I have sampled almost all of them. I still come back to Roses. A friendly welcome, excellent cuisine, excellently cooked, now supplemented by West Indian deserts. You will not be disappointed if you stop buy either at lunchtime or dinner. Don’t be shy and try all of the menu, you will then become a firm fan happy that you discovered this establishment.

Ordered today for the first time, was called back to confirm my order( so rare!!) Everything was wonderful!! Oxtail was small and tender,portions were huge!! The homemade drinks, pineapple and soursop had lots of spice and Carribean flavour. Perfectly cooked and totally hot!! My 12 year old said she couldn't eat it all but she did!!! She would not let me taste the curry goat!! She is taking the macaroni cheese to camp tomorrow! Great tasting food!! I will have to buy that next time!!

I went there with my son, after a long time since the last time l ordered. It must have changed ownership. Food was amazing. I had ackee and salt fish with rice and peas. My kids had fried chicken with rice and peas. We all loved it. The staff was very friendly while we were waiting and kept apologising for the wait. But in all honesty l'd rather wait a bit longer if that means getting food so good.

This has to be one of my favourite lunch locations! Both ladies are very friendly, not like your typical Caribbean takeaway where they can be rude!

Come from Ipswich and doing some work on Wilcon way. Went looking for food and after driving pass all these peri this peri that and that ting call Mac Donald's na. Saw Rose's, came in for jerk chicken, rice and peas... wicked!! Next day mutton with rice and peas... blud fire!!! Real talk nice place to eat for real food and the Guinness punch, wooow. Food good if you like Caribbean food try it

After being recommended personally and also seeing some great reviews on trip advisor, myself and my colleague popped in for a lunch takeaway. My colleague ordered jerk chicken and rice and I ordered Mutton soup and Curried goat. The lady who served us was pleasant but not very friendly. Unfortunately we had missed the lunch deal which finished at 2pm so we opted for two medium main dishes (the chicken and goat) My mutton soup was floppy and 99% lumps of potato (including several pieces that were black) and carrot. The tiny amount of mutton consisted of pieces of chewy fat. My goat curry was nothing more than tiny pieces of chewy sinew on enormous pieces of bone. The rice was cold. My colleague chicken was fatty and the rice oily. The soup and two main courses cost £24. A very disappointing experience.

Nice enough food, but rarely have what I want on the menu wifhout have to wait for it to get cooked. The have waited 50 minutes before. Today we phoned ahead but they wouldn't prepare a menu item, when we tried to compromise on the mains, no dumplings! As much as I like the food, I will go elsewhere in future.
