We were excited to try an Indian gastropub having visited when the place was Bodegas before. As soon as we entered we felt an opposite atmosphere to Bodegas with the restaurant feeling and looking very dull and gloomy and slightly run down. This wasn’t helped by some tacky fluorescent lighting and loud random music from a tv music which made it feel as if we were in a sports bar. It seems as if the atmosphere and branding needs investment and help from a consultant. They should also look for inspiration from other Indian gastropubs for decor/atmosphere. It’s a shame as the place has potential and the food and drink wasn’t bad at all. The place could also do more promotion from a social media and online perspective as many aren’t aware of the place. I’d like to give the place another chance but think the atmosphere and vibe needs improvement. I’m providing this feedback as I want the restaurant to survive and hope the owners do take note. I honestly believe investing in the decor and atmosphere instead of the current mismatch will help to attract people in.

First visit to this restaurant this evening after recommendation from a family member. Lovely welcome from the manageress who explained the different dishes and how spicy they might be! We all had lamb dishes were delicious and melt in the mouth! We also had various starters which we shared and they were all very good! Will definitely go back! It was very quiet, I only hope this was because it was a Sunday evening and that the place gets more customers!

Amazing food and brilliant music. What an absolute gem in Watford. Not enough people know where this is, such a great vibe. You must come!

We came as we had booked at Avabar and it wasn’t good so this was our back up plan and it was lovely. The staff were very welcoming and talked us through their aims and their menu. Food was lovely- a bit different from a typical British Indian restaurant which we really enjoyed. Lovely to have some music in the background.

Not great, food was nice but nothing you can’t make at home. Very overpriced. The ladies loo doors do not close because of the tile ceramic rail. The waiting staff are very hesitant. All over deep clean is needed, drop the prices. It’s a great location.

I had a fantastic experience at Wellington Arms! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious with a great range of options to choose from. Every dish was well-prepared and flavourful, a bit far from me, but really nice place

Very dissapointed We ordered two packs of fried rice and one sea food rice through uber eats. Cost was £29 There was only four skinny chicken strips for the whole chicken rice and two thin cuttlefish rings with three tiny pieces of prawn ( it was cut into three quarters) There was a big pile of rice with barely any meat Both rice tasted the same😢 I could not take any photos as was so hungry and angry Had to cook some eggs to fulfill. This is London not Sri Lanka Would never order again would never recommend this place to anyone

Kotthu fans will lose themselves in this game changing experience of this play of the palate. Allow for custom spice levels! Kind & welcoming. Have vegan options; when I spoke to the chef he was kind enough to ask about potatoes & my restrictions on them. So they are friendly to all walks. Would recommend to take a look.
