We ordered the seafood noodles and Kothu Roti from Kothu King for my daughter's first birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, plenty of seafood in the noodles and mutton in the kothu. All our guests were very complimentary, I would definitely recommend it!

Went here for new years dinner and this short lady who claimed to be the owner of the restaurant gave such a bad service. The food was not bad it was nice however her service was so disgusting, she was very rude and acted so big headed. My husband asked for the sauce and she was like ‘what do you need sauce for’ in such a rude manner and had the audacity to smirk whilst saying that in a mocking way. Also we ordered chilli chicken but she gave us some other curry. Then when we finished food there was some leftover and we requested her to pack the food separately for us and she was acting stingy and said let me just put it all in one box. Her service was appalling and so rude. If it was one instance i wouldn’t have minded but she constantly kept showing attitude i don’t care whether she’s the owner or whatever she should at-least provide a certain level of good service but no. Really did ruin our whole mood. Note to that women: Please fix up your attitude!!!!!

Disappointing Experience My recent visit to this restaurant was extremely disappointing. Despite the place being empty when we arrived, we were rushed because they claimed 16 people were expected soon—who never showed up during the hour we were there. One of the two staff members, a short lady, was particularly rude and unprofessional. She asked us to write our own order because she was "busy" setting up a table, then criticized our handwriting for being too small. When we requested extra hot spice levels, she dismissed us, deciding on "spicy" instead, saying we might waste the food. The cutlery was dirty, and when we asked for replacements, she rudely questioned why. Her condescending instructions, like not placing the knife on the table, added to the unpleasant experience. The environment was uncomfortable, being too cold, and a chef who walked by smelled of alcohol. The food itself was bland and far from the spice level requested. On the bright side, the other lady serving was friendly, and the decor was fresh and appealing. However, the poor service, lack of hygiene, and underwhelming food make it hard to recommend this place.

This is the first time we visited. Ordered few different dishes including Chicken & Mutton Kottu. Wade, mutton Curry, paneer and fish, string hoppers. We loved all the dishes, very tasty.

Parking is difficult on the main road.

Great place for Srilanka snacks and signature dishes in Watford. They do sitting area and takeaway countries service grab & go. The price is on the cheap side but food actually taste better than lots of places I visited. Overoll it's a good place if you want to eat some good Srilankan food.

I went and ordered food to take home but when I got home my rotie was not inside the bag I trusted them to give my order but it wasn’t fulfilled when I called the girl even hung up

I go to this place regularly to get takeaway when there's nothing left at home or can not be bothered to cook. Nice spices. My fav quick snack - fish roti (sometimes a bit salty, but i dont mind, but others may not prefer that) - could be cheaper but is a better price than any restaurant or cafe nearby. Great for when you're on a tight budget. Got kothu from here, but my family felt it could've been spicier. Dosa and sambar, enough for two people is only £3.50! Love it. Great for when I forget to take lunch to work! Always readily available or they are happy to make it usually ready in 10mins. Great selection of dishes!

Authentic Sri Lankan food for a super affordable price. Fried Rice and Kottu has the real Sri Lankan street-food taste which I haven't found anywhere else. Really good portions too. Parking is available just across the street. (Free on Sundays)

Too spicy good for only South Indians … Secondly the staff r a bit doggy..they behave as is they don’t understand English and try to charge u more ..b carefull … And lastly false advertisement..they show u some things else on the picture and give u something else …eg we order lassi and they give us milk shake …would not recommend others

Had some food here, ended up with food poisoning not going back

We walked in on a late evening and all that we had was Parotta. Not so hot but since we were hungry we went ahead. But one Parotta was very heavy for a person who eats very well. They were very thick. We tried two veg Gravies and they were tasting good... In some dishes we observed the skin of the veggies were also not peeled. Not sure if it's out of laziness or is that the style.

Amazing menu, Food was so tasty like our home. Still mouthwatering while typing 🤤. Everyone can try it.. Good luck 😉👍

One of my favourite takeaway aways, spicy and tasty every time

I came here with my wife for dinner. I live close by and as a native Sri Lankan this place was appealing. They have a takeaway menu and a separate dine in menu which is more slightly more expensive but not too much. We ordered 2 mutton rolls, 2 fish and egg rolls. Fried chicken thigh and leg, devilled squid, dolphin mutton Kottu rotti, and a falooda. I love this place! Every single item was tasty, no complaints. It’s criminal we haven’t been here before having lived here for a year. Will definitely return with friends and family. Possibly even hold a party here as they allow you to bring your own alcohol! Have taken a pic of the QR code which you can scan for the menus.

Always too slow serving and need to change the person at the counter. Talk too much

Food poisoning twice now, the first time i thought perhaps a bug but this is the second time i have been violently ill from here, do not risk it!!

Fab restaurant for takeaway and dining in - we’ve also had a large group for a birthday lunch - they were very accommodating about having reserved tables in the restaurant . It’s a well decorated and clean place - including the toilets!! Plenty of lovely food, snacks and a section of branded pre packaged South Indian/Sri Lankan food. Would just say to mention how spicy you want food because it can vary! Medium in some dishes can seem hot The staff are hard working, friendly and helpful. The food in counters could have labels to save time when ppl keep asking what it is to double check (or corresponding number to menu item for easy reference!!) It’s all clean and well laid out - sometimes didn’t understand how restaurant doesn’t have diners (but a massive demand is in takeaway for them). A brilliant place and space (they don’t have their own parking but it’s possible to park nearby off busy road).

Brilliant customer service and outstanding food which is always served piping hot. The food always has an appropriate amount of spice and the new items are always well promoted. Definitely recommend to everyone!!!

Travelled from Scotland to try the food at Kottu King! The place was very comfy and a home made taste! Definitely will visit again. All the food was made freshly and they do a lot of home delivery as well as they seemed very busy on big orders. It was also nice to see the Kottu chef/owner come to speak to us.

I cannot review the food but we went there for Boba Tea as they advertised so much and unfortunately our experience made us not consider coming back. The lady behind the till was super nice but we waited a good 15 minutes for the boba tea in which we ordered two and she made only one. She kept going at the back of the shop for some reason and made me question the hygiene keep touching everything and then going back to fix our drink. Also the smell of the food was so strong and very noisy from the kitchen side. Unfortunately the boba wasn’t amazing either. Felt like juice from a box and very dehydrated boba beads.

Really good food, albeit a Iittle salty, at bargain prices! Mutton rolls, vada, fish fry, biryani, chicken kottu and prawn curry all very tasty indeed. Three of us ended up very full, complete with a bit to take home, for just over £50.

I am a frequent customer but it is sad that one of the employees in this shop does not even know basic manners. The service provided to those who come to dining is extremely bad.

Quet busy plase in peak hours ,service may be delay , prises are reasonable, good was not great not bad too, worthy to try it. good staff, they help you out with orders if you new to place.

Best Mutton rolls, very nice food.

Food was alright. As expected of Sri Lankan cuisine. We enjoyed our course of parotta, veechu roti, mutton kothu, and chicken devil. Whilst we enjoy spice, it’s not too spicy for anyone with a lower spice tolerance. Service could use some improvement however. Waitress kept disappearing between placing our order, which led to a lot of unnecessary confusion. Glasses were not set throughout our stay. Plates were dirty. Even the water jar looked unkept. Please proceed with caution when it comes to dining here. We will not dine here again and instead stick to takeaways.

Three of us went here recently and had a really nice time. We had a variety of Sri Lankan dishes and all of them were tasty and reasonably sized. The staff are really friendly and polite. If you love Sri Lankan food, this is a must go place. Food is reasonably priced too. Thank you 😊

So good! I recommend everything, everything is delicious and flavourful. Very friendly and take care in what they do. I recommend the keerai vadai, paneer samosas (never tried but goes so well!), paneer curry, cabbage curry and chickpeas. But also is a GREAT price, so reasonable especially for nowdays. Thank you!

Before go to the restaurant, ordered by the pone. asked to come after 20 minutes, but food still not ready. Bought the food at home and checked, 02 items are wrong from 03 items ordered. BECARFULL check your order before leave the shop.

Super srilankan food place in Watford and excellent customer service, very helpful staffs. Have a lot of varieties of snacks and main food for dining & takeaway. Everything cheap and fresh with variety of choices. I see this place is crowded and busy. Highly recommended.

If Kottu King wants to continue staying in business they should really think of who they put on the front counter. I just went to the restaurant to enquire about a couple of dishes and the staff member was just so racist. They assumed my origins based on my skin colour.

I ordered a spicy roast chicken kottu on 29/1/2023 lunchtime and it was not spicy nor roasted chicken. Chef got order wrong and he was angry on his own mistake and took revenge on me 😂. This place used to be good but very poor tasting food now. Avoid Avoid and Avoid

We took 2 takeaway orders on consecutive days. Day one has spoiled sambol and day 2 had spoiled pittu. This place really needs to lift their game and quality. Food poisoning is a major concern.

I recently dined at Kottu King restaurant and had a delightful experience! The dosa I ordered had an amazing taste, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I would highly recommend trying their chilly chicken as well; it was a culinary delight that left my taste buds tingling. Although I'm giving it 4 stars, it's mainly to encourage improvement in their service. The taste of the food was outstanding, but there is room for enhancement in their service quality. Overall, the restaurant offers great taste and is definitely worth a visit for those craving authentic and delicious dishes.

They are the only Restaurant that sells street style Egg podimas. The Boti curry is nice. overall very good Sri-Lankan Restaurant.

Value for Money and Excellent service

Today, my family and I dined at Kottu King. Our server, Pulitha, forced us to order more food, and although we were uncertain about portion sizes, we agreed. Unfortunately, a significant amount of food went to waste, and when we tried to return an untouched and unused soft drink can at checkout, she refused and charged us. This left us feeling disappointed. Generally, the food and service at Kottu King have been excellent, but this experience has made us to rethink. She was not professional at all.

I've been to "Kottu King" three times now, and my first two visits were delightful experiences with excellent service. However, this time, I was left disappointed. There was a lady named "Pulitha," though I'm not entirely sure about the name. She came across as overly assertive and spoke loudly over us. Moreover, the portion sizes of the food were more than we could handle. On the bright side, the food itself was quite good.

I just had a take out sea food kottu from kottu king, watford and hardly any sea food in the kottu. Very dissappointed. I had sea food kottu 5 months ago, quality was good.

Worst experience!! The worst service and food . Had to almost wait for 45 mins before the food was provided to us. Food prepared in the morning served at afternoon , yet just to make the food hot and served at table we were made to wait 45mins. On top the food was heated in microwave which made parotta and fish fry very hard and rough to eat.

We ordered mutton curry for takeaway. When we got home it was gone off. Sometimes their food is good sometimes very bad. Staff try their best. Poorly managed.

Visited this place twice. When we visited last weekend we ordered many items . One of the sweet item was made with grated coconut. Both my wife and myself sensed some spoiled coconut smell from that so we informed to the staff. The lady who served took the sweet inside , came after few minutes with it and told that they checked and it was good to eat. Even though we told we don't want that she refused to take it off and charged us for that spoiled item. This is the first time I experienced such a poor customer service. The cost of that item was only £1.50.

The chicken kottu is one of the better ones I have tasted in Europe. The dolphin kottu (does not have an actual dolphin inside) was really good.

Came here to try their kothu, it was fairly decent. They also sell other local Sri Lankan items at the front like a mini supermarket which was lovely.

First time We ordered 2 fried chicken koththu and 2 mutton koththu mutton one is ok but so great it very dry and didn’t have any gravy with the order.chicken koththu is very disappointed Look it self it doesn’t look like koththu it yellow colour so much turmeric in it Didn’t had koththu taste to it And hardly any chicken or mutton in it

Ordered 2 mutton koththu and 3 dhal wada (parippu wada) 2 wada has bit of missing like had bitten or broken.when eating felt sand on it and it was not fresh or crispy .mutton koththu is dry it doesn’t looks like koththu too yellowish in colour and didn’t had proper koththu taste. And boy few leeks pieces here and there no any other vegetables seen .not really recommended

Incident 1 The price charged is not what in the price list. I bought a mixed kottu charged £11 per kottu instead of £6 in the price list. We were not informed by the waitress sneakly applied into the bill. Incident 2 The mange lassi was not authentic. Instead of mango pure and youghet, the product was made upof mango ice cream Incident 3 Starter Samusa one piece was charged £1 - it is a very small piece not work for the price (the piece similar to 20 piece packet available in super marker for £3.99) BEAWARE of Price and Portion before if at all entering Kottu King

Inedible mutton rolls. Bought lots for a party and no one could eat them. Far too spicy and nothing like what we've had when ordering them before. We like spicy but this was a complete joke. Complete waste of money and time.

Iv been to many tamil srilankan South indian restaurants in London but this is tops it for me such a great friendly service the ladies working there treat you like you're part of the family members and love it room for improvement still with how long it takes but they're trying. Food is so fresh and tasty most of it all the prices are great and great portions. I hope they don't chage anything keep up the good work and I cant wait to visit again.

Despite the my friends warning, we tried their food and as warned we end up with 2 days of stomach pain, food poisoning! after dine in at Kotthu King, Watford .Not sure about food hygiene standards but deep fried foods are highly oily for sure! Kottu (so called dolphins Kotthu) taste horrible and confused taste as it comes with mix of everything they have. Choose your food carefully, check food safety rating , if you want to go there.
