I can’t believe how tasty it is I would recommend to all to try every pizza at once 😋😋😋 It was super delicious

This used to be the best pizza in Watford, I have ordered multiple times and were always happy with it. Proper dough, properly baked, great ingredients. Not anymore - this last experience was disappointing, nothing traditionally italian a out this cheap cornershop-like 'pizza'. Never ordering again.

Update: so, we received a text about a week ago saying “Our original recipe pizzas are back!” so we cautiously tried again and, oh my days, they’re so right. Thin bases, generous toppings and subtle note of garlic butter. Beautiful. Bazil, what did you do to your pizza? It used to be beautifully light, thin, crispy, super fresh toppings. Recently, it was thick and doughy. I’m hoping this was a one off trial, but please, go back to the recipes that meant I was a customer of yours for years.

Since the change of management or ownership the business has completely changed their offer. They used to offer wood fired pizzas with high quality ingredients that were one of the best in Watford. Now they offer greasy flavourless pizzas laden with cheese and cheap olives. If you want a similar experience to what was here before I suggest ordering from the Loading Bay at Flourish ..

I last ordered here when they first opened (7 or more years ago). Why am I leaving a review now? Just thought they’d like to know I never ordered since after they ripped me off. They had beer and cider on their menu. I ordered a cider along with my pizza. They called me to say that they didn’t have a licence and the alcohol was on the menu in error. They offered me a coke instead. The cider cost £4 and the large coke was only £3, but I said fine, as they were a new business. When the order arrived they didn’t give me a large bottle of coke, they instead gave me a can that they sold for £1 and pocketed the £3 difference. I hope that was worth it as I have never ordered since, and never will again. Good work you really got one over on me :)

Not recommended! We were a first-time customer and should have read the reviews before ordering. The pizzas were greasy - poor quality and weird taste. We could not eat them. We won’t order again.

Like the recent reviews, we have been having Brazil for many years and would have said the wood fired pizzas were the best in Watford. We had a takeaway last week and the pizzas have completely changed and are just like any other cheap pizza. Having driven past since, it looks like the pizza oven has gone! We won’t be ordering again - they’ve lost their unique selling point!

Poor quality, really disappointing We have been loyal customers for over 7 years. Ordered from Bazil last night for the first time in a while. It’s still the same name and address but pizza is nothing what it used to. Weird, thick dough that doesn’t even look or taste homemade and way too much cheese!!! It’s basically cheap pizza but the prices have gone up. Definitely NOT ordering from here again

Guys what's happened? Your pizza used to be great. Really confused by what we had delivered tonight. Has the wood fired oven gone or is it just out of service? Ordered BAZIL seemingly got an average bog standard greasy pizza. Where are your delicious half metre wood fired rectangles of deliciousness? Won't be ordering again if it's this bog standard fair from here on in.

I am so disappointed in this, we used to order from here regularly but have been on a health kick for a while and havent had pizza in so long…. What happened! It was greasy and we couldnt finish it due to the bad quality, i there was no quality ingredient just greasy cheap cheese thats not worth the increase in price.

I've ordered from here hundreds of times before but last time I got it they have obviously changed everything - changed to store bought dough pre assembled and cheap cheese. the pizza was basic and severely overpriced for what it was. VERY disappointed! won't be ordering again.

Best Pizza in Town!! I’ve been a regular here since 2013 when they first opened and will continue to be. I’ve just tried the new style thin base & was 10/10.

Order took 1.5 hours, and the pizza wasn’t how we remembered. Completely different, and worse than dominoes. So unfortunate they changed the ingredients.

We used to love the thin and crispy wood fired pizzas her, they were great. The new deep-pan style are horrible. I really hope you bring back the old bases otherwise we won't be ordering again :(

I have to say ordering today was my saddest pizza experience in a long time. The entire experienced has changed and destroyed what was a hidden gem, turning it into american pizza style "fast-food". Not appitising, oiley, stoggy base, with no wood taste. wrong, wrong, wrong. It now reminds me of pizza hut, which is fine if that is what you want, but so far from what it was. Bazil used to be my go-to pizzaeria for the closest thing you could get in the region for authentic Italian pizza. Proper wood fired Oven, with traditional base and toppings, the kind of place I would not have been ashamed of taking my italian Nonna to. When I tasted it I almost used to feel like I was in Italy (surprisingly in North Watford). What they have done now is totally changed and ruined something which was genuinly good. Why did you change it?

Caring staff and very tasty pizza. I recommend four cheese (Quattro formagi), if you like cheese. Easy 5 stars quality and taste.

Hurts me to say it but the pizzas they now sell very average. From what I can tell they're no longer wood fired pizza but similar to a conveyor belt oven type pizza. Ordered from here for years and the service seems good still etc but maybe the cost of running the wood fired oven has become too much. Gutted as it was the only place that sold decent pizzas in watford

These pizzas are simply awful. They used to be good/nice? I just thought they’d changed pizza sizes so ordered from them but they are so badly/cheaply done . All cheese bread cheap sauce and they all taste the same even if it’s a different flavour. I couldn’t eat them I ended up ordering elsewhere. I’m reviewing because it really was so disapointing . The service was good as I had ordered extra dips but their website wiped it from my list or it must have refreshed and I didn’t realise and they came back and dropped some off. Sadly already too late as we ordered from somewhere else by then. There should be a note to advise this place has changed massively It’s a shame

Amazing pizza and incredibly friendly staff! Went there a week ago, ordered the vegetarian pizza without cheeze, no questions asked as we were used to in other places, and the chef even suggested to first make only one in case we didn't like it without the cheeze. They didn't skimp on vegetables, the vegetables were fresh and the dough had the perfect consistency. Would love to come here again.

Lovely place for dinner. The pizza was very tasty and the dough was excellent. There’s a variety of toppings to choose from and the atmosphere is relaxing and quiet. The staff was very friendly and nice. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

This used to be my favourite pizza place. They built a great reputation by serving 10/10 thin and crispy pizza. Recently, however, Bazil decided to change their pizza style to deep pan and it's just no where near as good unfortunately. If they returned to their old style they would be 5*, until then, I'll have to find somewhere else.

What did they done to the pizza ,it is like cheese on toast !never again ! Use to be the best in town ,customer for years order nearly every weekend ,you can’t eat it !

I'm so sad that probably what was the best pizza this side of London has come to this! It has gone from a proper Italian pizza to high street late night junk food. Thick dough, cheap ingredients smothered in loads of cheap cheese. To be fair they did warn me when I ordered. They said they couldn't afford to make the decent pizzas anymore. I would happily pay £25 for what used to be rather than £17 for the pap I had last night. So sad. Rest in peace Bazel of the past 😔

Pizza has change dramatically to thick pan pizza nothing like the thin Woodford pizza it was known for

We always use Bazil pizza we Ordered a pizza yesterday around 3.45 it was delivered within the time frame but the Pizza was cold and tasteless the garlic pizza bread was 4 measly slices of garlic bread that were burnt . Personally I don’t think it actually came from Bazil as it wasn’t their usual standard.

Perfect pizza even though is not wood fired anymore the quality is same, of course taste different than the wood fired one. Thank you for such a delicious crusty and tasty pizza.

Update- 06 Oct 2023 - ordered regular piza and what I got was cheesy dough with ordinary toppings. Previous review - rated 5 for reference Best italian pizza in Watford - thin crust and simple ingredients cooked in wood fired oven does all the magic. Wages and chicken wings are also good. I highly recommend and probability will never go for pizza from big fancy brands or cheap alternatives

First and my last order here I should have read the latest reviews. Don’t be fooled by the wooden sticks on the window as the pizza is cooked in an electric oven and the pizza is a very deep pan. So disappointing!

The best pizza we ever had in Watford!!

So rude and arrogant. Been ordering pizza here for a very long time, and have spent a lot of money here altogether. Always had to order pizza without cheese. Never seemed to be a problem to just order it online, and then ring after and ask them to hold the cheese (which no doubt saved them money as I always paid the same). However, they got the order wrong when apparently the addition of one extra pizza that included cheese was too much for them to comprehend, and all 3 came with cheese. Rather than just apologise and politely offer to fix the issue, they were so rude on the phone, basically blaming us for ordering it wrong. When we went to the shop to exchange the wrong pizza, they were again extremely defensive and rude. When I said how long we had been customers of theirs and how disappointed we were in their customer service, they said they didn’t need our custom as they are so popular and get so many orders. All it would have taken was a “sorry, let us fix that that for you”. Will never go back there again after being a customer for years. One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.

This place used to be the best in Watford and our go to place. They have recently changed and are now deep pan doughy pizza that tastes like pizza hut. They tasted ok if that's the type of pizza that you like but we will be looking for a new place. Soooooo disappointed!

Ah, the pizza! I ordered the Margherita and vegetariana and was blown away. The pizza was so cheesy and loaded. It was clear that they use top-notch ingredients—the pizzas were bursting with flavor, the mozzarella was creamy. Each bite was a harmonious blend of simplicity and perfection. Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends!!

Shocking! From such nice place with wood fire tasty pizza, to horrendous low quality deep pan piece of something surreal. Next time I decide to spend £20 I go to Iceland and buy 4 same type pizzas and have better blast 💥 Don’t understand the logic behind the change. Won’t be coming back ever unless the oven is back. Used to be the best pizza in Watford, now just generic deep pan stuff, been going there for years, it was a proper pizza, now you might as well buy a frozen one from the supermarket.

Don’t be fooled by the previous reviews of this place. They seem to be under new management and are now serving the same type of thick and spongy pizzas that Domino’s etc do. The chicken wings were good and the pizza tasted OK, but it’s not what it was or what we wanted. Disappointing and we won’t be back.

As with other recent reviews, we’ve been ordering from Basil for the last 5 years and the food has always been amazing. It has randomly closed a few times over the last 6-8 months, not sure why. We ordered last week when it re-opened after the latest closure and the pizza options had changed (1/2m pizza ms had gone). We assumed maybe there was an issue with the oven and ordered anyway… we were really disappointed with what we got. Wings were still lovely, but the garlic bread wasn’t the usual high quality and the pizza was more deep pan style and not very good. Considering the prices, if we wanted this style of pizza we’d probably just order from Domino’s or similar.

Food was of good quality as usual but the change to deep pan in our mind is a mistake the deep pans are too doughie and filling, this was the 1st time we all left at least 2 segments each! Will think twice about ordering again unless Basil's go back to original type or offer both options.

I heard Bazil had to change their oven and am delighted to report my pizza was as good, if not better, than before. Reading others it’s obvious that they had some teething problems, but clearly very much sorted and Bazil remains the best pizza around, by far!

Brazil's Pizza USED to be the best place in town. They USED to do amazing half meter wood fired pizzas. Now they only do small deep pan pizzas. We've been ordering from them for years because of the good ingredients and quality pizza. It's such a shame, I won't be using them again.

Very disappointing. We have been loyal customers for the last 5 years, and I would have said it was definitely the best pizzeria in town. Yesterday's experience was nothing like the Bazil I love. Poor quality ingredients, thick dough, and definitely not wood fired. The prices have shot up as well. A change in management perhaps? I'm afraid we will not order again. If I want such a pizza I would get Domino's.

Without any hesitation The best and a real Italian Pizza I had eaten in a long time. For sure Wood Oven does make a difference, but of course, Bazil's preparation recipe is what makes it a magnificent and delicious Pizza which can not be compared to others.
