The Shampaan, a name that should inspire, A feast of flavors, setting culinary fire. But alas, the reality, a sorry sight, Overpriced dishes, bathed in dim, pale light. The naan was doughy, the curry, a watery stain, The samosas greasy, leaving an oily stain. The service, indifferent, a distant, vacant stare, As if they'd rather be anywhere, anywhere. The bill arrived, a shock, a bitter sting, For such a meager meal, a cruel, unfair thing. We left the Shampaan, with a sigh and a frown, Wishing we'd dined at a more humble town. So heed this warning, traveler bold and free, Avoid the Shampaan, and dine more wisely. For better curries, and service with a smile, Seek out a haven, where flavors truly beguile.

Food terrible, can certainly do better. Do not get the mixed grill (meat is awful) Meat has a very rubbery taste. Cocktails nice, waitress good. Shame the food is terrible

The coffee shop was easy to find. Comfortable seating outside the store. Service was excellent and the staff friendly. It was a good location to catch up and have a chat.

on way past and fancy a doungnut stood looking to see what to have and the young girl was biting her nails and playing with her hair then touching the food no gloves not even washed her hand so i choose not to buy one

Excellent welcome provided by an ethos attic and friendly staff. The coffee and donuts are excellent too. This is a very good place to rest while visiting the lakeside complex and a ready welcome awaits all those that make the effort to find it.

I have been here a couple of times for a drink. But this time, I had something to eat. From the outside, The Royal looks like it needs some tlc. The outside seating area could also be improved with some potted plants and fairy lights to make it feel more cosy. However, when you enter the restaurant, it is fresh and newly decorated. The decor in the restaurant is really nice and looks great. I like that the bar and restaurant have models of ship on display (links to the history of Purfleet). The cocktails here are well priced and there is a good selection to choose from. I only ordered a couple of small dishes. The chips were seasoned nicely and tasted good. The chocolate fudge cake was delicious, I'd like to have some raspberries alongside the cake for that extra flavour. There is a good selection of food on their menu. When I visit again, I will be trying food from the main menu. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. There is also a pool table to play. I'd come back here and recommend The Royal for good food, drink and cheap prices.

I visit this store very often. Staff is really helpful especially a young lady called Bailey and all the supervisors and managers will go and extra mile to help the cust6. Store is clean and they have plenty of offers in store. A member of staff is always present at the front door to greet customers with a lovely smile.

Can't remember the name of their signature dip but honestly, it's like crack. Can't get enough of it. Please re-open soon!
