Dum Dums Donutterie Lakeside in Thurrock

Excellent welcome provided by an ethos attic and friendly staff. The coffee and donuts are excellent too. This is a very good place to rest while visiting the lakeside complex and a ready welcome awaits all those that make the effort to find it.

Had my first Dum Dum doughnut and found it amazing. This had to be the nicest doughnut ever! Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Artisan donuts at Dum Dums. We decided to give it a try and went for the Cronuts. Two different flavours, the pistachio was very nice. They are a bit expensive but the cronuts are the going rate given the price you expect to pay for them in Harrods.

I had heard about this chain online so when I was at Lakeside, I stumbled across the shop and had to try. The guy that worked there was very nice and he gave me a sample (which I thought was so so to be honest, more on why later) but the cronuts looked so pretty I got sucked in and got 4. They cost about £15 (talk about sticker shock!). I tried a bit of each and, sadly, they were all dry in a stale sort of way (the guy said they were made fresh daily...eye roll), the filling inside all of them (apart from the raspberry) was not enough and it was too light and airy so it didn’t alleviate all the dryness of the dough. The taste of the filling was also bland and not distributed evenly. Lastly the glaze on top of all of them was...guess again... too dry. It crumbled off completely as you bit or cut into each one. I didn’t get any of the yeast donuts to try but I won’t be going back. Take your money and go get some supermarket yum yums. Trust me, they’re far superior.

Needed a late night snack when shopping and this hit the spot. Delicious chocolate doughnut goodness for £2. Friendly staff too. Thanks for the treat.

Amazing staff, super donuts! Was encouraged to sample a piece which was great! Got drinks for £1. The donuts are the best I've had anywhere!!

Bought a strawberry cheesecake dough and... wow! Seriously amazing! Love this place... has a funky vibe and the staff are friendly and so helpful! See you again soon!

Our daughters bought cronuts in different flavours,absolutely delicious a taste perfect to my mouth. Fresh, not too sweet and the fillings is just right.Hmmm, I shall buy for more..
