Wow! I have not been to the bull before but I’ve got to say that this is the best pub in Essex, was made very welcome By Mr Ahmed and his Team. Highly recommended this place for food and Drinks they got lots of choices. Definitely coming back.

Had a large event at The Bull with over 100 people. Ahmed was gracious and professional throughout, from viewing to the event itself. The pub was really flexible and we were able to set up an amp, keyboard and mic. The food was good, and the garden is huge- in good weather, there's an entire second pub out there, and a bouncy castle! I got so many compliments on the venue from my guests.

What a great way to celebrate my birthday. Amy and Holly really looked after us, but as regulars we always get looked after which is lovely. The chef is amazing and we were privileged to sample the new menu which was fantastic and catered well for vegans, vegetarians and additional gluten free options. I had the steak which I could have eaten with a spoon it was that tender! Also a big thank you to Ahmed for looking after us all.

We have been twice now for Sunday lunch and it was a real treat today to have a proper roast potato. The food is excellent and the staff were really pleasant and attentive. Plus the table was ours till we finished. One thing i would ask for is unscented spray when cleaning the tables around us.

It's a shame about the price of 2 starters, I was charged same as a 2 course meal. I thought considering where the pub is based they would be decent in price, couldn't have been more wrong. I wouldn't recommend unless you're willing to eat whatever they dictate to you.

The waitress was lovely her name is Rosie. She was very friendly and helpful. We came for valentines and the dinner was lovely.

Amazing food! I had Seabass and my partner had turkey roast on a Sunday. Beautiful food. Seabass was so tender with butter garlic sauce. Absolutely amazing 🤩

First time at great pub, crackling fire, great food washed down with a nice drink and a good number of friendly locals. We'll be back to enjoy the large garden and play area with the children when the warmer weather comes.

A good number of friendly locals adding to the chatter and nice chill music whilst we enjoyed our meal and catch up. Good food and good size portions (plenty of it). We had the Christmas menu roast with a choice of a couple of meats. It was very good.

We had a fabulous 3 course Christmas lunch. The leak and potato soup was so good, along with the main course and desert. The icing on the cake was the attentiveness and attention of Tammy, our superb waitress. My 2 year old grandson was in our party and she couldn't do enough for him, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely pub, lovely meal and service to match. Thank you Tammy. X

Booked this for a last minute Sunday roast today with friends. We had the December festive menu. The food was all delicious and excellent service from Tammy who looked after us very well.

We had the christnas 3 course meal. From the time we arrived we were look after right away, the food is good quality, the presentation wonderful. Great value for money, we will be returning. Tammy our waitress was friendly, helpful you are a star thank you.

Sunday lunch, amazing home-cooked roast, no fault was tasty and perfectly cooked. Had home made profiteroles for dessert which were scrummy…. Live music piano playing was was a lovely atmosphere,. It was lovely we could take our little dog but meant we had to sit in a specific area that had football on, which detracted from music , if we could have been in other part it would have been perfect. Our waitress Tammy was so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble Will certainly return …..

Went there for Christmas lunch with my neighbours Hollis Place Massive and we had an amazing meal everything was cooked perfectly presentation was on point I was not expecting the lunch to be that delicious 😋 Hubby and I had the lamb, others said the beef was perfect the veg was perfectly cooked I have never eaten a Brussels sprout IN MY LIFE and I ate all five I'm not joking that man can cooook big up that chef represented Grays so impressed 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

Not all Sunday roasts are created equal. This hit the mark in flavour and portion! Value for money with 2 courses for £20 Toffee pud was great. My friend was not into the cauliflower cheese. All else was spot on and loved the free parking

Why didn’t we try here sooner? The food quality was outstanding, but it’s the SERVICE where I wish there were 6 or 7 stars! Nothing was too much trouble, and they looked after my brother and his wheelchair without blinking. My aunt has a gluten allergy and the level of attention to detail exceeded anything I have experienced before. The roasts were fantastic, and there would have been clean plates all round but the portions were so generous! Cannot wait to come back. Thank you

This would have been 2 stars if it weren’t for the lovely lad who served the food, the bar staff who checked we were okay and the fact most of my families food was cooked nicely. First, we were initially told we couldn’t eat in the restaurant if we wasn’t eating the set Sunday lunch menu, even though we reserved a table and the restaurant was empty. We challenged this as my sister-in-law is vegan and the Sunday lunch menu didn’t cater for this..after objecting, we were told we were okay to eat in the restaurant. My sister-in-law then asked if they could make the caesar salad vegan(remove Caesar dressing and cheese) then add maybe a little more salad..tomatoes..something, anything to go with the leaves. She was served just the leaves and had to ask for tomatoes separately. I asked for prawns with my salad, that was missing, so asked for that separately too (that’s fair, mistakes happen) The bar staff and waiter were lovely I suspect it was the chef who was making things awkward.

Today we tried the Tapas Menu. Prices were affordable, Portion sizes great size. Recommend the hot wings, hummus and pita bread and also the Patatas bites) Staff were friendly also. Very happy customer.

My first visit to The Bull Thurrock.Wide selection on the menu.I had fish and chips which was delicious. Service was excellent.

Tapas was a pile of frozen rubbish that i could have bought in Iceland for much less than £35. Don't waste your time and money on crap

We had the wayu burger and chips.childs meal burger and curly fries. It was ok the burger was cold and a strange flavour .just didnt taste like a fresh beefy burger. The 4 stars go to the childrens play area.toilets were clean.pleasent staff.and lovely garden...

Lot's of bar stuff, good service. Clean and tidy, inside and out. Large car park. Big indoor marquee extension with tables etc. and a large garden including 4 or 5 large roofed open booth areas (seat 8+). They have an outside bar area too. Didn't try the food, but quite a few plates being served in the garden looked good (fish and chips etc.).

Not what it used to be. Lovely old black beams in the bar ruinously painted white. No real ale on. Menu ok but comes at a price. Staff pleasant and efficient. Spacious outdoor facilities. Traitors Gate in the same road far better if you want good real ale in a proper pub atmosphere.

My partner and I came here today, we sat down outisde which does look nice but some areas do need a serious clean specially the booth section. I ordered the wagyu beef and my partner ordered the skewers. While the skewers were tasty it was a bit too spicy but generally speaking the skewers were fine. The wagyu burger was bad for a wagyu. The flavour tasted bland, not the worst ive had but deffo not the best specially considering it was £14 for the burger! I would even go as far as to say its hard to believe thats actually wagyu cause that was just a dissapointment. If you want a decent burger you better get 5 guys, youll probably get it for the same price aswell. All in all spent £41 for 2 meals and 2 drinks. Not gonna lie it wasnt worth the £41. Not sure I would return but like I said initially the open back part has a nice view which is the highlight of the place.

First visit here, met with friends from work for a drink. Ordered the prawns and olives for food and a brownie. The food was delicious and the drinks were quite reasonable. Got a great play area for kids with outside toilets and nice bench seating. We came mid afternoon and it was lovely sitting in the sun in the garden. We will definitely be back.

Wow ! This place has really upped its game with the food! By boyfriend and I went for a meal last night and was very impressed. I had the fried chicken strips starter and the prawn skewers main.....beautiful and my partner had the king prawn...

Really nice pub with great food.

Went there for works Christmas drinks, confusion over booking so they had 2 other parties at the same time as us turning up. Small dance area and right next to double doors that they will not let you open and get fresh air, so you cook and sweat all night with the log fire on to. Once people started leaving was more bearable but they really need to open them doors to let the air in when it's a packed night 😅🍻🤗 Other than that not a bad place to go 😁😊

We were here for a funeral wake. The owner graciously set aside a room for us on a day when they are usually closed. They provided food and drinks to accommodate our needs. The atmosphere was brilliant given the circumstances. The staff were respectful and helpful and we kept them very busy! Thank you for making this sad occasion a little more bareable. I've been here before under much happier circumstances and again, the food and staff are top notch!

Food was burnt, over cooked and greasy. Even the chips were bad. Very disappointed. Noone checked on us after delivering the shocking food to our table and eventually had to search for someone to clear the plates and ask for the bill. No offer to make it right either. Very disappointed, there's clearly no love for food in the kitchen.

Very nice food, drink and service, just been and Wednesday/Thursday's daytime is bogof on some meals which wasn't expecting, look forward to the next visit.

We were served by Erin who was very polite & helpful there was nothing she wouldn't do to help us have a very pleasant meal All in all a most enjoyable lunch Will definitely be coming back

Working away is hard sometimes especially on a Sunday and if you are looking for a great Sunday dinner and to feel like you at home then call in, Great bar staff and the food is banging. Will definitely choose to come hereagain

We have been here a few times for lunch...BUT, today. Wow,last minute decision to eat out. Had the homemade vegetable soup followed by the three meat roast. Never once have I ever finished a roast but ,oh my goodness. This was the best roast dinner I've eaten I left the plate empty. Complimentary cauliflower cheeses absolute delicious. I can see this being a regular Sunday. Great staff,great food and great atmosphere..compliments to the chef..

Me and my husband took our 2 children down The Bull for lunch a few Saturdays ago. Excellent for the kids as have play area, children's booths and had a bouncy castle that particular weekend. Love how accommodating they are for children.... slush puppies, popcorn,...

We hired a booth for a hen party which was lovely and our waitress was lovely too, although our drinks seemed to take a long time to come out. It did seem lile they was short staffed. The food platters and cocktails we got were really nice, we couldn't actually finish all our food there was so much of it which was brilliant. A man started a fight in the garden which was left for the friends of these people involved to sort out. Not a staff member in sight which was a bit worrying as children were still in the pub at this time. At 22:30 we was asked to move into the pub as the garden was closing which was fine, we decided we was all ready to leave as it was very busy (which we obviously expected for a Saturday night) only to find both exit doors to the pub locked (with a key not just bolted) When we asked the bar staff they asked us if we could unlock them? Not sure whos bright idea it was to lock hundreds of people inside the pub but I hate to think what would have happened in the event of a fire or emergency as everyone was literally packed like sardines

Was such a lovely pub but clearly the manager isn’t bothered and shouldn’t be in hospitality as he has no customer service skills at all! When you spending a lot of money I would at least expect a hello or smile nothing we were clearly an inconvenience for him as he told us once we had our food he could go home. Told us food would be 30 mins and was well over an hr. Arguing with other customers at the bar in front of everyone and chucking them out at 7 in the evening absolute joke! Closing when ever they want. Think I will definitely try The Ship pub next time.

We've been pleasantly surprised as from the outside we had the impression it is really small and dark, but the suprise was inside: clean rooms full with light and friendly staff. The food is great and the terrace is amazing. Really enjoyed our experience there!

Always love visiting the bull it has a great atmosphere and in the daytime the kids love playing in the garden playground. It's always clean and the drinks and food a good price! Have tried most of the menu and enjoyed it all. In the evening on the weekend they have a dj and it's always good fun!

This was the most inhospitable pub I have ever been to! After waiting 10mins to find someone to serve us we went into garden. You can't sit there! ! Into another area! ! You can't sit there! Buy a drink but don't sit down! ! ! Horrendous!

The environment looks great. Definitely a nice space that one won't expect with just looking from the outside. It has ample parking which is great as well. The drinks are good too. However, I seems they were probably short staffed because it was one person taking orders, serving and clearing up as well. Food came in a bit after an hour late. The bun was cold, the food was tasteless in my opinion; I ordered the Cajun Chicken Burger (definitely pricey for what was consumed). Had to take out of a friend's chicken wings which was nice while we were waiting for over an hour to get our food.

Hi me and my wife and son went to the Bull on Saturday for food and a drink I can strongly recommend the jd ribs they were the best I've ever had. And I do love ribs. Also great service from the very friendly staff 👏👍

Garden has been improved even further so it's a lovely place to go in the sun but it does get very busy at usual popular times. Not the cheapest beer I've had!

Lovely place for a quiet drink and nice food.

Pub looks great and has a great garden. The food is diabolical. The ribs resemble microwaved mess. The risotto is without a doubt a microwave meal too. Everything is just real bad. Shame.

Staff were friendly and the service was good would have given 5 stars but the fried eggs were a bit undercooked but to be fair there was 16 of us and everyone else's were fine, will go back again and see if they make it 5 stars next time.
