The Kings Arms in Thurrock

Coming on Mother’s Day for lunch, we expected it to be more crowded and when we came, it wasn’t crowded at all! They supplied us with Ferrero Roche chocolates.The atmosphere was incredible as a singer came here and had a wonderful voice so it was very nice. The roast dinner was AMAZING. When we had dessert me and someone else got the chocolate fudge cake but instead of cream we asked for ice cream. It was an amazing cake and we also got some strawberry’s and blueberry’s and lotus biscoff crumbs. The staff were fantastically friendly and quick. Overall this is the most impressive restaurant experience I’ve ever had.

On yesterday's adventure, we paid a visit to The Kings Arms for a spot of lunch. Nice level car park - with easy access to the rear and beer garden. Wheelchair users might have a bit of difficulty with the external door, which was a little stiff to open. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting—definitely a great place to dine. We were seated quickly and left with our menus to decide our food choices. There is a good selection of beers available. Our drinks arrived - the coffee was hot and tasty. The scampi and chips were excellent, but our two burgers just fell a bit short. The Johnny Cash burger, which was on the specials list, was a little dry, which was disappointing given the expectation of a standout dish, as it looked amazing when it came out. If I was grilling this at home - I'd add some small improvements - with extra Jalapenos as a side garnish, (for the heat lovers) with some Jack Daniels relish - and I'd definitely look at making it with 2 smash patties, rather than the thick pattie it comes with. The other burger was also just okay, lacking a bit of flavor. That said, we were probably the first customers of the shift - and the service and ambiance were fantastic. I’d definitely look to come back - just hoping for a better burger experience next time.

The King's Arms at Orsett. You walk in expecting the usual pub fare – the ubiquitous frozen chips, the pre-prepared sauces, the whole lot seemingly assembled from packets. Surprise! They're actually cooking here. Fresh ingredients, a different special every day. You almost expect to find a time warp in the back, leading to a pre-industrial kitchen. And the Sunday roast? Properly done. One of the better ones I've had. Plus, the staff are genuinely friendly. Worth a visit, if only to see that it is possible for a pub to serve excellent, fresh food.

A good Sunday roast. this is the second time we have eaten here, and it will not be the last The Sunday roast would be improved by adding parsnips I am a big fan of apple pie but not with cranberries. The staff are friendly and efficient.

Relatively limited lunch choices, but Good Main menu and daily specials. Food ordered well presented and hot. Service excellent and great cosy atmosphere with very friendly staff. Car park full? Despite low numbers in the building. Parking on street variable. Easy to find will use again.

Lovely Pub, friendly Staff, delicious food, Great Atmosphere, Dog Friendly, Nothing is too much trouble, If you need help in any way the Staff are happy to help, Lots of Entertainment planned for the year ahead- advertised on Large TV - which also shows sports

We booked for lunch, and we had a friend who is celiac, they were absolutely fabulous, so many choices for her aswell, food for all of us was very very good, desserts hubby reckons best sticky toffee pudding he's ever had, trust me that's a high compliment. And the most amazing snowman dessert too, Besides the food, the welcome was warm, the service was fantastic. We don't live local but 100% will be back. Thank you.

Nicely decorated, good quality food at reasonable prices, get away from the chain restaurants at Lakeside. This pub is only a 10 minute drive away and we'll worth it. Lovely clean toilets too!!

Delicious Sunday roast dinner, we had rolled lamb with mint, and turkey roast, with side of cauliflower cheese, one of the best roast I have had for a time

We have been here a couple of times and look forward to going again. Staff, food and service were all good, and our dog was very welcome too.

A cosy place and friendly staff. Last night's menu a delight of good old fashioned food and modern favourites. A meat filled suete pastry steak and ale pie was a great favourite with our party tasty and filling. Some firm favourite desserts went down with pleasure. A busy night in the pub made for a good night out. We will be back .

Went for lunch here and was pleased on our visit. The lady serving was lovely and made a great cocktail. The food was also nice and came quickly. It was lovely to sit outside as it wasn't too busy at lunchtime midweek.

First time in this pub, everyone was so welcoming and I was never made to feel like I was an outsider. Food was lovely and served quickly and didn’t have to wait long to be served at the bar.

Was disappointed on arrival, the pub had no knowledge of our booking made 3 weeks earlier for 7, however Sharon went over and above to turn the situation around. She set up a table and gave excellent friendly and good humoured service all evening despite being run off her feet. The food was delicious. Did not give 5 stars because the menu did not include some meals advertised on the web site. Very reasonable prices.

We celebrated our daughters 2nd birthday here today in their function room and everything about it was pure perfection! I had a vision of a tea party for her and her friends and the management at the Kings Arms took that vision and turned it into something truly special. Everything from the service, food and decorations exceeded all of our expectations. Could not recommend this wonderful venue enough. Will we definitely be back for more parties. thank you again for making my daughters birthday so special.

Really pleasant, recently refurbished pub. Simple affordable menu. Good pub food. Mid afternoon was very quiet, but still waited 30 mins for meal.

Had a really lovely lunch with my friend today. Such a friendly welcome, food was excellent and the Cherry Bakewell Suet pudding was to die for! Highly recommended

Had afternoon tea with my mum and daughter for my birthday The afternoon tea was lovely, and very well presented, the sandwiches were on white bread only (though I feel if I had asked for brown bread when booking it would have been) - It is a very child friendly atmosphere (which is lovely as we took my 1 year old), the table next to us also had babies/ children and there was a sandwich/cake platter for the children The only thing which was lacking was the beverage choice (tea or coffee), I would have liked to have had a choice of tea personally- very much an individual preference preference (I enjoy an oolong tea with afternoon tea) Could not fault the service or atmosphere

Have never been to the Kings Arms before but will certainly go again. Met some friends there for lunch. Staff were very friendly and the food was very tasty. Had some of the best chips that i have had for ages. Generous portion sizes

The service was great, but all the middle aged men swearing at each other, and been horrible to a couple of kids that were there does not make it somewhere I would want to visit again.

A proper British public house. Traditional, cosy,. A warm welcome awaits from the cheerful staff.

I st class curry night and good beer

They went above and beyond to cater for me at my sisters baby shower. We were having afternoon tea and I had recently found out that I have a milk allergy and have to eat dairy free. Even though they were only given a weeks notice about the diet change to a member of the group they made sure I had a number of things to eat. It was a wonderful day, the service was great and my food delicious! Thank you so much for a great time!!
