Visited this restaurant a number of times since it opened and always impressed by the quality of the service - never in your face or too pushy - just right balance of perfection! Food is always good - this time I had the triple roast followed by the cheeseboard…quality comes at a price but this is worth it…

I had booked lunch in the Lounges for my partners birthday. The booking was made 7 days in advance and confirmed by email. The Grove called to confirm the booking the day before, and confirmed we wanted Sushi, not Afternoon Tea. They also sent an email to confirm again the morning of the booking. They mentioned nothing of not being able to sit in the Lounges on any of the confirmations. On arrival we were told they had overbooked, and The Lounges were now only for Afternoon Tea and we could go to the bar if we wanted. The Bar had business people on laptops and children running round, not the setting you want for a birthday lunch. Its disappointing that they overbook, but also that they didn't mention this when they confirmed the booking so we could change our plans. Clearly money over service and we won't be returning.

My partner and I visited The Glasshouse for lunch in order to celebrate his birthday after wanting to try somewhere a little more 'special' and hearing good things about this restaurant. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating and upmarket décor. Everything was spotlessly clean during our visit and staff were very friendly and attentive. The buffet selection was much smaller than most other buffet style restaurants we've visited however The Glasshouse appears to go for quality over quantity and there was still a good amount of choice with a variety of cuisine's to choose from. The cheeseboard selection was a firm favourite of mine, offering a good selection of cheeses you wouldn't normally find easily. The Indian section, whilst small (2 different curries, 1 rice and a few side dishes) was gorgeous. We both tried a bit of everything from this section and it was all a la carte restaurant standard. The roast selection, again small, but very, very tasty. The standard was the desert cart. Desert's in buffet style restaurants are, in my opinion, always a huge let down but here there's a decent selection of absolutely beautiful desserts. They all looked visually as stunning as they tasted. It was a fairly expensive meal, £180 for two with a couple of soft drinks and a bottle of water. However the food was exceptional and we were both fit to burst upon leaving. The only real annoyance was the 12.5% service charge which is all too commonly added to the bill these days. This added an extra £20 to our bill which feels excessive considering you're serving yourself everything but the drinks. Nevertheless, we both agreed we would visit here again in the future and my partner thoroughly enjoyed his birthday meal.

We had a family birthday Afternoon Tea celebration here. After a 5 min wait? We were shown to our central table. All we had to decide which menu (Vegan and Vegetarian also available) and tea or coffee. I opted for Tandoori Chai - Big mistake as it was weak and tasteless. The savories were canapes not miniatures. Cold sandwiches were OK. The wraps were cold and a big disappointment. The hot Bombay sandwich was very good and we asked for seconds. The cakes were all nice but nothing special. The scones arrived after a delay but were hot and hit the mark. The service was attentive and the hostesses were greatOverall a good gift experience that was let down by being aimed at European palates rather than UK Indians.

What a lovely pub! The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and the pub itself is set in a beautiful location on the green. We came here on our way to Luton airport but next time we will make a special trip it was so nice. Glorious garden out the back and seating out the front.

Staff are very friendly, atmosphere is warm and welcoming and beers are great. I ordered the beef burger and chips, and the cajun burger for my partner. The only let down was the portion size of the chips. We were in disbelief when the plates arrived. There were so few that it took us each a minute to finish them. The cost for both meals was about £30 and whilst the burgers were excellent, the chips didn't even form a slight pile, just a single, very sparse layer on the plate. Can't say I've experienced this before. We don't get to eat out much but leaving a pub still hungry is certainly an odd feeling.

Not been organised and peckish after doing the Sarratt loop walk we stopped for refreshments luckily got a cancellation spot. The food arrived piping hot and my daughter’s half chicken was perfect. Been many years since I’ve done a steak and ale pie and very happy with the choice. Staff very friendly and super attentive.

My daughter and I had the Sunday roast. It was later in the afternoon but the food was piping hot and delicious with plenty of gravy! We chose the treacle tart for dessert and it seemed to be home made which was a nice surprise! The service was polite and prompt. Think the staff should have some kind of smart uniform though - as it wasn’t obvious who was working & who was a visitor! The only thing that was irritating was the loud music being piped into the restaurant - completely unnecessary for a Sunday afternoon! The lad serving was very polite and did turn it down a bit when asked but really - quiet background chilled music - or nothing at all - would have been much nicer. Other than that it was a good experience!
